Sunset Reservoir Brewing Company

Dined and drank on a recent Saturday in mid January. First time at SRBC. I live right down the street on Noriega and am delighted to have a non-​Asian eatery in my hood. As a hapa, I enjoy paying respect to my Asian culture by grubbing down, but grow tired of it every once in a while.
Service was attentive and friendly. Young male server was typical SF — laid back and funny. Although he didn’t know as much details about the menu, I appreciated his efforts and willingness to ask the kitchen, and promptly answer our questions.
Ordered several items but the standouts: basket of wings was plentiful and delicious. I appreciate the generous portion of wings, especially because my group shared it. The french fries were delicious, accompanied by jalapeño ranch sauce. The sliders were OK, nothing extraordinary but decent. One of my dining companions had the fish/​fry basket and it was HUGE, she couldn’t even finish it. But the value was there, and she enjoyed what she could manage to eat. Most of the grub we had was flavorful.
On an aside, I’m not a beer drinker, and was glad to see SRBC has a mixed drink menu.
Prices are as expected.

Overall, I actually had a lovely time at Sunset Reservoir Brewing Company. It’s such a breath of fresh air in comparison to the usual places you find in the Sunset District, as a youthful, trendy place for solid food and less-​solid drinks.
The kicker for me was just not liking the beers. The darker beers were too heavy, and the lighter beers just tasted off to me. And how can a girl give a brewing company a rave review if the brews they brew just aren’t that good?

It’s a nice enough place to hang out at, and I’d still happily go back for lunch and some cocktails, but beer is not what you should be looking for here.
