Me:“Hi, my ATT iphone 5S was stolen over the weekend and I’m looking for something new. I’d like a 6S, but I’m a little afraid it will be too large to use with one hand”
Him: «What size data plan were you looking for?»
Me:“I had a 2 GB plan with ATT and that was fine for me. I mostly am on wifi“
Him: «I can’t recommend you go with that. You’ll have a phone that is way underperforming because you’ll be running on the slow network because you’ll be over your data»
Me: «Okay, but I never went over with ATT. Why would the 6S on T Mobile be any different?»
Him: «ATT and T Mobile are totally different. Netflix, HBO and Spotify can be streamed without counting toward your data. There’s no comparison»
Me: «Um, wouldn’t that mean I would be using even LESS data?»
Him: «No, you’ll still be running all the other applications, like Facebook and Instagram, and if you even stream 5 minutes of video you’ll be over your data allowance»
Me: «I’ve never had that problem. Is the 6S going to using more data than the 5S?»
Him: «Yes, if you are uploading full sized pictures, since they are 12 GB»
Me: «Okay, but I would never do that»
Him: «If you’re not going to use the full functionality of an iphone, then you should really not be wasting your money and you should go with an inexpensive android phone. It’s like you’re driving a Ferrari and putting regular gas in it»
Me: «Okay…I really don’t want to discuss this any further, I’d like to just get the iphone 6S with the 2GB plan»
Him: «I really can’t recommend that you do that. You’re not going to be happy with it.»
Me: «???» goodbye.

I then went to the store on Chestnut (I worked with Tyler) and had a great experience. They had no problem with me getting a 2GB plan, and told me if I didn’t like the 6S I could just return it within 14 days.

Very hard to buy small items here.

Great Promo deals that moved us from AT&T and Verizon. International data roaming for no additional charges is truly what moved us over to tmobile.
In store, reps were knowledgeable and not pushy.

I went to this place to change my plan from a prepaid to a simple choice plan. I was there for 1.5 hours. First they got my name wrong, then they got my address wrong and then they got my order wrong. How can you get my name and address wrong when you have my ID on your desk? Seriously? I was working with an Asian girl (with glasses) and a guy named Micheal. They had me go through the whole order process three times and finally they got my order wrong! It was only by chance that I went online and checked my order status to see that they ordered a silver iphone instead of space gray. They only come in three colors, what are the chances of screwing this up after wasting my time for 1.5 hours? you tell me!
As a result I was on phone with T-​mobile costumer service for 40 minutes tonight, only to cancel my order and now I have to wait for 24 hours and then go through the whole process again tomorrow to order again!!!
I HATE T-​MOBILE… I F**** HATE IT

This store has endlessly nice, helpful employees, and the T Mobile customer service representatives are equally pleasant to deal with.
I bought a phone and payment plan through this store in July. The phone busted a month later, and a representative at this store location — TJ, I want to say? — said he’d get my phone replaced under warranty and waive the processing and shipping fees, and replace my screen protector. This is actually what I expected to happen because my phone was less than 30 days old, but it was also still really nice.
So I came back on a day he wasn’t there. The two clueless employees offered instead to SELL me a screen protector rather than give me one.
Today, I learned that T Mobile has charged me for all the fees I was told would be waived, for a billed grand total of $ 167. The customer service representatives fixed this fast enough. And this store location signed me up for a prepaid AmEx card that came with a free $ 50, so I didn’t end up paying for the screen protector.
These are all great things. But you need to be careful and you need to ask employees here what they are charging you. For a company that claims to not be stealing your money, they seem like they might do a lot of that to unsuspecting consumers.

Lost my phone a while back, came into this store to buy an essentially disposable $ 40 phone to last me until upgrade season, the very rude Russian woman working there that day refused to sell it to me without buying minutes (I already had a post paid account). Went home and bought it on Amazon for ½ the price.

The sales here are rude and clueless on the plan and product that they are selling. They don’t even want to try to understand what you need but just push you to buy what they have, and tell you there is no other way and they are not train other way. Just plain stupid people, no customer service, drive further to Tanforan branch, don’t even waste your time at the 9^th ave store.

My favorite tmobile store so far. Those guys really know how to fix technical issues (at least, my issues). I got an unlocked phone and after exceeding my data usage, the LTE/​data network just stopped working. I took my phone here and they showed me how to fill up the APN fields by Tmobile access point.
Not all of them is friendly but definitely helpful :).

Inadequate technical ability and very poor customer service. I purchased a prepaid sim card here, probably the most basic of purchases you could make from T-​Mobile but these guys FAILED to activate it correctly. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the phone with me but later, after it failed to work in the phone I called the store and they told me I would have to call T-​Mobile customer service and they could activate it for me. I tried this only to be told I would have to take it back to the store. Finally, after several hours wasted and two trips to the store I have a working sim but when I asked for some recompense for the waste of my time, they claimed to be unable to do anything. I like T-​Mobile (as much as one can like a telco) but I recommend avoiding this store.

I switched to T-​Mobile because I disliked being locked in to a contract and AT&T, my previous carrier was just too expensive. I think T-​Mobiles idea to break-​away from the contract concept is a good one, but the rest of their service is poor. The coverage in SF is just average and not very good where I live in the Sunset. They also insisted on charging me for the last 5 days of the previous billing period, even though I hadn’t received my SIM cards yet and could not actually use the service. Along the same lines, I wanted to suspend the line of someone who would be out of the country, hoping to save some money during that period. This they will do, but they charge you $ 10/​month to suspend the line, and charge you the full fee for the line as if it was in service!?! Why would someone do that.
I have to keep them for the month, but the search goes on for a decent wireless carrier solution. Are you listening out there entrepreneurs?

I don’t know about the customer service, but their prices are terrible. I called yesterday to see how much a new battery was for a phone. I was told fifty dollars. I went online and found a battery with free shipping for six bucks. I called today to ask how much a 16 gb sd memory card would be. I was told fifty dollars. I found one online for 15 dollars. I understand a brick and mortar location in a city such as San Francisco might need to charge more than an online operation based out of Iowa or Nebraska — but charging eight times the price of their online competition? Hells no, man. That shit is weak sauce, son. Don’t waste your money at t-​mobile.

Survivor here of AT & T abuse. Love this place. Informed, friendly staff who seem to actually care about helping customers… imagine. I had to call AT & T to unlock my iphone (which took them 24 hrs for some unknown reason)… then went into this store and had a smooth overnight transfer of my service. Better call clarity now and paying half the price for all the same service. Don’t hesitate folks… any AT & T early termination fee might be way less than it will work out if you transfer and save half your bill. I’m finally free of AT & T! Yay!!! Thanks, T-​Mobile staff on 9^th Ave. for taking such good care of me… I’m just not used to it yet.
BTW: easy parking on street, or in Golden Gate Park which is steps away.

Excellent customer service. As a longtime T-​Mobile customers (since voicestream) we’re not going anywhere but there are times when we are glad we have accounts on other carriers too. The great customer service we got here reminded why I like T-​Mobile. Vanessa was very knowledgeable about the changes we needed to make to get LTE, waived some fees and in general knew far more about the technology than unfortunately most mobile phone reps.

After suffering years of having no at&t signal in my home, it took losing my phone in the couch to help me make the big switch to T Mobile. The totally killer deal I got made it all the more easier. I basically will be able to save enough in phone bills this year to cover my at&t early termination fee. Woo hoo!
After reviewing the details of what I wanted online, walked in, explained what I needed, and walked out like a champion.
Oh, and the people were super nice.

went in to get a microsim, and they gave it to me free. answered all my questions about my unlocked iphone knowledgeably. definitely my go-​to Tmobile store from now on.

I went here to add a line to my account, and was told that I could backdate a plan to unlimited. What I didn’t understand is their idea of ‘backdate’ means within the same month. I incurred $ 177 in overages, and went to other Tmobile stores in town and they said I was stuck with them. Raymond over at the 9^th Ave store went to special lengths to help me, and since I was a 5 year customer with no history of overages, he got me the full credit for the overages. I spent hours on customer care and got nothing, so I owe this store a huge shout out. There doesn’t seem to be lines here and they have great customer services. Best T-​Mobile store in town.

T-​Mobile coverage really sucks for me in the city and I will eventually change provider however this store is a good example of how really good customer service works well for a company. The reps have always been respectful and helpful on the two occasions where I lost my phone to the SF taxi pool. Both times they gave me a free SIM card which I could have used in another phone and both times I ended up buying one of their in-​store phones. I always ask for the cheapest phone they have and never get any negative vibes about that. The rep installs the SIM there and then (presumably to register or check the phone) so you walk out of the shop with a working phone in your hand in less than ten minutes. Ready to be lost again, bwahaha!
The rep today had a headcold and was sniffling a bit when he was serving me (working a customer-​facing job with a headcold = the bad times). Eventually he sneezed but went straight to the hand sanitizer before resuming service. I’m not a germaphobe but I appreciated this.

I have been a t mobile customer for about 15 years, my relationship with them has grown as mobile communication has.
since i have lived in san francisco, this is my favorite tmobile store among the few in the city. the parking is the easiest, being able to park in gg park! they seem to be the least busy. the customer service great. look folks, if you are lame, you will treated lame.
they spend a lot of time with the customer they are with, as choosing a phone and a communication plan takes a while to explain and decide, so i understand and don’t mind waiting. shoot, if it’s busy there, they acknowledge you, and in turn, let them know you’ll come back. stroll the shops in the mean time. the reps have always been nice, super knowledgeable, professional and realistic with me.
it’s just the best place for me to conduct my tele and smart phone business. thanks dudes and ladies.

Great customer service. I also go to Mia, she is the BEST! Easy to deal with and helps you out as much as she can. I use to dread going in to get my phone stuff figured out, but Mia makes it less stressful. THANK YOU!!!

Customer Service was decent when I asked them questions. The only downside was the wait, they only had 2 people working and there was a line forming already.
