The interior looks like your typical Chinese restaurant with a good amount of seating and a big screen TV showing sports towards the back. I ordered a Chicken Katsu lunch special with California Roll and Sashimi. The katsu pieces were thinner than what I ordered at other restaurants. The California Roll tasted like Costco/Safeway supermarket quality and so did the Sashimi. The Red Dragon roll was basically a California Roll with Tuna on top. It definitely wasn’t worth the $ 10 I paid for. They didn’t roll these by sushi bar so I’m guessing they didn’t use the freshest fish and it tasted that way. Worst of all is that they didn’t even have the option for low sodium soy sauce. You do get what you pay for here. The small flies flying around and hovering near my food should be a good indicator of what you can expect here.

The reason why I’m giving this place a 2 was because when I ordered via online, it said it would take 45 – 60 minutes. Almost over 2 hours later, my team and I were still waiting for their food. The teriyaki chicken was also kind of dry. The shu mai was flavorless. Thank goodness the California roll was at least decent! Oh, I also got fried oysters which was the best out of all of them. If you’re planning to get something here, don’t order online because they’ll take ages.

I enjoyed this place. We got one of the $ 9.00 chicken Katsu specials with 4 piece of California rolls, tempura, miso soup and salad, spider roll and dragon roll and some other items. The dragon roll was a hit. My husband and I really enjoyed that. I got the house chow mein for my kids because I was afraid they weren’t going to see what we got. Would I come here again? Sure I would. I’d defiantly order the dragon roll again. Parking: you have to be patience for parking. We had to go round the block maybe two or three times to finally find parking on the street.

We have ordered here a few times on eat24, and I like it. I just wished that they would throw in some forks and chopsticks and soy sauce or something, we ordered sushi, a dim sum platter, and some dessert, and they were good. They have a $ 25 minimum on eat 24 which is not too bad, and they throw in a free dish, so we chose the vegetable chow mein, which tasted ok. The chow mein was definitely a big portion and took a while to finish!

They’re always late with my orders and the people are very rude and unfriendly, but they’re the only place that will deliver sushi in my area on a lazy Sunday afternoon, so what’s a girl to do? :/

Won’t order again. The seaweed salad was TINY, for any price let alone $ 4.50. Nothing tasted fresh or even made day of. Small portions, less than average quality.

Have been a regular here for a while, prices are really cheap and their service is fast. They remodeled the whole place so now you can have more confidence that the place is cleaner. We have tried enough food here to list it all, however you will never go wrong with their spicy kung pao chicken. They also deliver which is a good help if you are feeling lazy on a Sunday morning. They always have specials and after certain amount of money spent you get something free. They also let you order online which is a plus to avoid miscommunication

I came here because my bf was in the mood for sushi and we were in the area. I would like to give the restaurant 5 stars for the food, which I thought was good, but there were two things that caught my attention. First is the wobbly table. It was not fun to sit at a table moving. Why even have that table there? Why sit us in an empty restaurant at a table that wobbles? The second was cleanliness. Although the bathrooms had been apparently modernized, my OCD was triggered when I saw the door and how much black grime was there around the door handle. I recommend getting the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges and giving the doors and bathroom a good scrub. That was very dirty and gross. The food was good though and although the resultant looked cluttered in the back, if this place cleaned up its act more it might be more successful.

Review in one sentence: You get what you pay for. I ordered delivery from here a few days ago and all in all it was just OK. Takoyaki: Probably the best dish out of my whole meal. It reminded me of the Tayoyaki booth at the Cherry Blossom festival when they used to actually put squid! Mission Roll: I appreciated the spicyness as most«spicy tuna» isn’t very spicy these days however the roll was just not worth $ 12. The tempura was soggy as hell and you could tell the batter was super thick. House Special Box: I ordered tempura, short ribs and the california roll. Again the tempura batter was awful, super thick. Also the vegetables were raw on the inside. Chrunchy pumpkin eww. The california roll was fine. Lord Jesus Christ the short ribs were horrifying. I honestly threw them out after a bite because I was scared I would get sick. The short ribs are 1 and ½ cm thick and RAW. It was honestly like eating seared BBQ short ribs that were cooked for 3.21 mins on medium heat, The only ONLY reason I gave 3 stars was the memories of the Takoyaki.

Post 10pm delivery on Sunday night. Also fills the gap I’ve been looking for since 2006 wrt east coast Chinese cuisine. Korean wings, general Tsao, Shanghai dumplings and free apps equals bliss

This is my every first review and this is just so terrible. In my picture, you can clearly see that the Loin King Roll was super dried and microwaved. DONOTBEDECEIVEDBYTHEFOIL. It’s barely warm! Nothing about this is fresh. The salmon was dried up, the cheese is so solid and you can clearly see without touching it that the rice has turned solid too. As well as the freakin ginger. Are you kidding me? I even waited about 2 hours for delivery. THISFREAKINGROLLWAS $ 12ANDBARELYEDIBLE. Do they not look at what they are giving people before they send it out??? This is seriously the worst experience I had with sushi.

This review is for their sushi… I was bummed when We Be Sushi’s Valencia and 22nd Street location, right around the corner from me stopped serving their weird(good-weird) sushi choices for cheap(Not Philly Roll, Latin Wave Roll, RIP). So I Unilocaled away to find another decent, quick-fix sushi joint near me. I didn’t expect the sushi to be as good as it was at a place with a Chinese name, but I find myself going back to Tao Yin for it pretty often. Their sushi lunch special with $ 7 and $ 9 combos until 3pm are great, because these are some of the best California Rolls I’ve ever had. It’s the shredded kanimi kind where they mix it in a creamy sauce(Kewpie?), so it’s moist and flavorful on top of the rice being particularly moist as well. I’ve already gotten various sushi lunch specials there 3 times, and have never been disappointed. I ordered the crab fried dumplings with it once which were also great, but it’s pretty hard to fuck up hot cream cheese and crab inside fried dumpling skin, with sweet and sour sauce. TL;DR — Great place if you’re looking for a sushi lunch that won’t suplex your rent money at its own funeral.

I’m coming out of Unilocal retirement to write this review, and the TL;DR version is that Tao Yin delivered one of the worst Chinese meals I’ve ever had. It was memorably awful. We ordered from Tao Yin because our go-to Chinese delivery, Oceanic, wasn’t answering their phone. I’ll be generous and allow Tao Yin a starting position of five stars. One star deduction for won-ton soup of mushy vegetables and broth that tasted like warm water and white pepper. One star deduction for two main dishes: fried rice and garlic chicken, both requiring a right dousing of soy sauce to taste like anything at all. One more star gone for forgetting the salt and pepper pork I ordered. That leaves two stars. And it leaves me reconsidering the generous starting position, because five-star Chinese delivery is not even a thing, right?

Takes very long to even order the food. Then they bring you the wrong food. Service is bad(they dont speak English). The food is 2 out 10. Do not recommend.

Tao Yin is part Japanese and part Chinese, which could very well be a big fat red flag for anybody looking for raw fish. I played it safe and ordered the chicken katsu. It was definitely tough, but I have a feeling the cooks knew since it was slathered in sauce. Still, the rice, soup, and salad were all solid. Not particularly difficult to do, but I appreciate the effort.

I avoid eating from this restaurant for awhile. anyways. We got food poisoning. and my father nlaw, told me that the food was not cooked to the finish point. The noodles raw. I had a picture here of his legs with little red dots but somehow it is gone…? everything was fine. Until that happened. so that’s that. I can’t deny the food is good when done right

This place is a little frustrating, I order food to go usually, though I have dined on site many times. Recently they raised their prices which kind of bummed me out, I’d imagine to pay for their new dine in renovations, which do actually make the inside quite nice. They only get my order right about 50% of the time when I order to-go /delivery. I try to stick to the basics that they do pretty well, sake maki etc, but I consistently get incorrect orders, especially when I ask for items to be excluded from a dish(usually to accommodate allergies) at which point, I have to be the irritated customer calling back, then have trouble communicating on the phone, then explain how they messed up my order to three different people… then they tell me they’ll make it again, requiring yet another trip to the restaurant, very little apologies. I prob would have stopped going a long time ago, except I live pretty close so it is convenient. But I’ve gotta say I hate the price increases, which leaves me more than willing to try other neighbor spots.

I’ve been ordering from Tao Yin for a couple of years now. Maybe half dozen times or more. Please note I have ALWAYS ordered delivery. I almost always order Japanese. I have never been disappointed. My food arrives hot, within 45 – 50 minutes and delivery people are friendly. And no problem ordering on the phone. Not all delivery food establishments can duplicate this. Try the Shrimp Tempura… its the Greatest!
