disclosure: i know the owners because we all live in this neighborhood. that’s one big thing you should know about this place: it’s owned by people who have been living, shopping and supporting this neighborhood for years. every time, a storefront opens up in noe, i’m always excited to see what might come in. 30% of the time, it seems like it winds up being a title company or real estate office… zzzz! the podolls shop is a much-needed, welcomed change to the neighborhood. it’s well curated, nicely designed with a range of clothes and gifts for women, men and kids. there’s also a cool custom built wooden fort inside the shop for kids to play in.

I love this shop. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful. I have a handful of pieces now and they are by far my favorites items of clothing — I feel so beautiful while wearing them. They are designed by a husband and wife who live in Noe and are often in the shop. And they clothes are made locally as well! Yay for local labels! They have tons of luscious silk pieces that are sand washed so you can throw them in the washing machine.

When I saw that this gem of a boutique had opened on 24th Street I was so thrilled. It’s just what the neighborhood needs. The women’s clothing selection is chic and effortless, plus it’s made locally which is a big bonus. They also stock a well curated selection of books, magazines, ceramics, and there is a children’s clothing section in the back which is great if you have kids or need a gift. This is one of the best shops in San Francisco.

With design, as with life, It’s hard to be easy and easy to be hard. Simplicity is a gift if you know how to do it right. And they do. It’s not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. And then some.

when it first opened I was curious enough to check it out even tho the items in the window display were boring and matronly — was sticker shock at how much $$$$ they charge for such plain looking clothes! will never shop here — if I’m paying that much the clothes better be elegant enough for special or evening functions

I was walking by and went in to check this out on a whim, as it looked cute from the inside. What was not cute, was a the price point that is in the hundreds of dollars for everything! I laughed, and walked out b/c that is not affordable to me, but, maybe it is to others. I am curious tho, as that price point might speak to ‘hand crafted’ items that the store stocks… I just think its a bit ridiculous to charge 300 for basically a camisole. Good luck to them!
