Great burger !! The noise and the people are annoying ! Crowded every hour of the day !! The service is just ok. We went for team lunch and they put 10 of us in a table for 5! I loved the burger tho!

If I could give this place no star I would. My friends and I with our significant other went there on new years eve expecting to enjoy our night traveling from south bay to spend a great new year in San Francisco. On eventbrite I RSVP6 tickets and I asked the bartender so happened to be the manager«hi I made RSVP for 6 on eventbrite where do I go?» And he says with hundreds of people here during the night you think we do RSVP and I said I’m sorry that’s what eventbrite offered me. Anyways ignored it moved on he carded us and as we’re handing it to him one by one only one more to go a server gets in the way and says«you guys need to move this isn’t a place to order» and I replied OK one second he asked us for our IDs and she said you guys need to move so my friend got upset at her rude ass attitude and asked for her name and to speak with manager before we knew the manager was checking for our ID she then got crazy at my friend and my friend straight up told I’m sorry if you’re not having a good day or night but don’t take up on us and if you don’t like your job don’t work here and the server said my life is great then the server threw a cup of drink at my friend and was so rude!!! Very disgusting and arrogant person. Was not happy there whatsoever and for a person who have experience working in the restaurant environment that is not how you handle working under pressure overwhelmed situation. Horrible customer service from the beginning. People from many different places come from far and to get treated like that is unnesscessary. PS I think the bartenders name was Christina Caucasian looking. Hopefully management took care of it because he seen and heard the whole thing.

Such great service and atmosphere! Our waitress Robin was absolutely amazing and when we were all talking about where we went to school, turns out we both went to U of A and attended the same business school there! I’ll be graduating in May and it was great to hear how many UA alum’s are in SF area! She was so sweet and telling me all about how all of the UA alum get together in the city! I’m excited to come back here once I graduate and Royal Exchange will definitely be my happy hour place! BEARDOWN Food: Sliders, prawns, nachos and calamari are all DELICIOUS!

So, we met a friend downtown outside the Royal Exchange and decided to have some drinks. We then asked for the food specials and our bar tender host Brandon was very knowledgeable and recommended the chimichurri sandwich and the fresh squeeze IPA; which is now my favorite. This is honestly a gem and I want to come back for the New Year’s Eve celebration. Oh, I forgot to mention that the bar itself has beautiful wood paneling and floors which give it a warm feel.

Normally I don’t come into bars by myself. Today I was early to meet my fiancé after work and thought a beer sounded good to pass the time. I had been to Royal Exchange before with some friends and had a decent service — not too friendly — not too ocuppied that we felt ignored. I would say that my experience today made me want this place to be my «go to» spot. From the moment Brandon greeted me I felt like an old friend. It’s the kind of feeling and service that you think would only come after being a «regular» somewhere. I don’t remember ever seeing Brandon before but I hope he, his attitude, and service remain a staple of the Royal Exchange.

We went here for lunch for a co-workers birthday — during the week before Christmas. We did have reservations for 11:45 but it was quickly packed to the brims and waiter service was spotty. I had the corned beef sandwich, it was okay — I wish I had gotten the Cobb salad that looked good. A gal at our table said the Asian salad was really good. It was a lot of food. I would have preferred a more meticulously made(and smaller) sandwich. Standard pub fare that could have been a lot better considering all the competition around. $ 26/per person — that was for us all splitting the 6th person’s birthday entrée. so Pretty pricey considering I only think one of us had a drink — ice tea at that.

Worst evening service ever. No hostess and passed over when a group of guys walked in. When I finally flag someone down, I’m told it’s open seating. This place much better for lunch.

Great & fun place. Warriors win #24. Try the Deschutes IPA. Efficient bartenders. Screw friendly! Efficient is what it’s all about

The Best place to grab a beer and a bite to eat! It’s my favorite bar in SF because other than the great food and atmosphere the service is fantastic. Always super fast and friendly. Personally recommend the Hail Mary Bloody Mary because it’s an traditional Wisconsin BM.

Upon arriving, I had my first meal here in San Francisco. I had a great time; lively atmosphere, and friendly staff. Their burgers are excellent, and they have a good selection of beers on tap.

Better than the place next door. More drink options and food is better. Nice atmosphere. The first time I came I felt like«I hope these are not the best burgers in San Francisco. That would speak badly about the city. The burgers are ok, but not the best ever.» Well the second time I got a burger it was a lot better. Definitely go for the half pounder, not the 1⁄3 pounder. Much better quality. Definitely spot to catch a game, a drink and some interesting people. Another box item are the hooks under the bar to Han coats, umbrellas etc.

Needed a place to grab food and a drink by Embarcadero Bart station last night and stumbled upon this lovely gem. It looked really lively inside for a Thursday night so i figured i’d give it a try. Seems like a sports bar but because it’s in the FiDi there were lots of people clearly just coming from work. Different types of people but I grabbed a spot by the bar, waiting for my friend. DRINKS: Front and Sacramento — Gin cocktail with aperol, fresh lime juice, press. very refreshing although not the best gin cocktail i’ve ever had. Sculpin Grapefruit IPA — yum yum yum FOOD: Pretzel Knots with honey mustard(app) — SOGOOD Salmon BLT — Not sure I would ever think to but bacon on salmon but why the hell not? it was so delish and came with fries — needless to say, i left happy The service was good, bartenders were friendly, I would come back.

I tried to inquire about hosting a party for my dad’s 50th birthday because their website states«Working with your budget, menu, and special requests we’ll create a memorable and fun event for 100 – 200 friends, family or colleagues.» so naturally I wanted to ask for more information. They did not get back to my initial inquiry until i reached out to them a second time only for them to tell me that the date i wanted was unavailable and that they wished me luck on finding another place. What? I replied back to ask if they can offer me any other dates only for them to tell me very bluntly and that there is a 6k minimum for a private party… Obviously they didn’t want my business, and they handled it in a very unprofessional manner. They did not offer me an basic information before they rudely tried cut me off. no, never again.

A favorite location for financial district happy hours. Good pub grub and a good selection of libations, also not too expensive. The pub meets all the minimums for replicating a standard English pub. The service is okay. I feel like they are understaffed for the crowds they attract for happy hours during the week. So, be warned that you may have to track down your waitress and elbow a few people out-of-the-way to order your drinks at the bar. You’ve been warned. If you’re going there for happy hour then I would send a scout early to both see if it’s not too crowded and if there is a table to reserve it before the real crowds get there. I feel like I’ve had just about everything on the menu and it’s all pretty good. I recommend the nachos and the buffalo wings.

This place hosts an awesome happy hour with both food and drink specials. It’s usually pretty busy after work so I suggest getting here early. Their garlic fries are on point and they serve a pretty mean burger as well. For St. Patty’s Day, they host a block party and serve beer from their to go window! Stella, Guinness, and bud light are $ 10 for 20 oz that’s a little pricy but they do block off the WHOLESTREET! There is an awesome vibe which is filed by a good number of young professionals from the area. Nothing spectacular but RX is a solid drink spot.

I’ve been coming to the Exchange for 10+ years now, even before I moved to the Bay Area so I’m surprised that I haven’t written a review yet. It’s been around for a long time, and it definitely has a storied past. I mean I have a few tales. Since my office is several blocks away, it’s not somewhere that I’ve frequented much in the last several years until last week when a colleague suggested it as an alternative to a liquid lunch. It was Friday, and the market was taking a beating so it was pretty crowded. The food is nothing special, but I guess the prices are fair. Cocktails are far from stellar. It’s definitely the type of place you come to for the rowdiness of the bar and the scene at happy hour. Probably not inclined to return for lunch or dinner. Maybe for a drink.

A few years ago I worked in the neighborhood, so the Royal Exchange was the place to go to when you wanted to watch a game(baseball, soccer or football), grab a beer and some pub food. It’s always a crowded place and noisy, but that’s some of the charm of going to a sports pub. The booths or private room in the back provide a little more privacy, but don’t have such easy access to the TV screens — if that’s your thing. They have Happy Hour from 2−6pm Monday to Friday and a Later HH on Friday from 8−11pm. They have specials on beer, wine and some appetizers. My guy is quite fond of the French Dip here. I’ve had the burgers and pastrami melt which have always been good. The last time I came for drinks, I tried the pretzel twists which were good with my beer.

Found my way to the Royal Exchange after attending another event, and I have to say right away I like the vibe of the place. It’s in the heart of the financial district, which is important to remember, because last call on a Thursday night is 10:45pm. It’s very manly feeling bar, the bar tops, tables, chairs all wooden, most of the bar is brick and wood. But I really liked it. Bartender for the night was Alex, and what a cutie he is! I’m not quite sure what I drank but do know it was sweet and fruity. Had a fun time at the Royal Exchange, sad it shut down way earlier than I expected. When back in the area, I am sure to stop by.

TYPICALIRISHBAR (3 stars) I feel like all the Irish Bars I’ve been to in FiDi appear the same. And everytime it’s always a mediocre experience. Late lunch hopping; there is nothing of interest with this review. But I must Unilocal and review their(southwest) Veggie Burger! VEGGIEBURGER($ 12) It was really a Mexican flare between two American buns. The veggie party was made of some kind of soy and black beans, overall tasting like black beans. The fillings on top of the patty was salsa and guacamole, then the typical burger stuff such as onions, pickles, lettuce. No cheese, I’m lactose. I ditched the buns, ate the burger«protein» style and judged it as satisfying. I am quite surprised a veggie burger tasted as delicious as it does not look!!! And enjoy it way more than many beef burgers out there. The burger came with a side of fries that were typical. Will I be back? Maybe. Nothing to rush back to. Until the next review!!!
