TLDR: I wouldn’t come here if it were anywhere else, but it’s right outside my apartment, so it’s better than dragging an overstuffed sack of laundry several blocks to another place. If this place isn’t situated in such a way you have to avoid tripping over it immediately after stepping out of your apartment, don’t bother. The dryers barely work, with the exception of the industrial-sized extra large ones, which work fine. Sadly, there is only one of those, as the other has been perpetually broken for the last four months I’ve lived here(and probably longer). I have seen workers cleaning the place after hours, so it’s not entirely abandoned. I sort of imagined a laundromat baron sitting up one of these nights and going, «Oh shit, I own one in Russian Hill! I forgot all about that one!» However, with how long the dryer’s been broken you’d think it were some piece of alien technology that landed here, we gratefully use, but have no concept of how to fix. Owners: Maybe you should, I don’t know, call someone who knows how to fix such devices? The coin machine is infuriatingly picky about the bills it accepts. It rejects perfect, crisp $ 1 bills you would expect were handed to me hot off the press by George Washington himself mere minutes before, treating them like crumpled up, unacceptable currency. I went through the entire contents of my wallet, the machine rejecting all of it, before finally finding a bill which it grudgingly accepted. It’s also known to have the occasional homeless person duck inside and sit down, and who can blame them really? While I’ve never seen them cause trouble, it does drive home the point that this is a purely unattended laundromat.

This is a small laundromatte, with 12 washing machines, including two extra-large machines, and 14 dryers, including 2 extra-large dryers. Each wash load is $ 2.25. The dryers were $ 0.25 per 8 minutes. The laundromatte was clean and quiet when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. There were no staff members present at that time. Seating is limited, with only two plastic chairs.
