Jason did an amazing job on my beetle. I was worried because it was making a noise and he showed me that it was simply the 1.8 turbos when they are cold and it goes away when it’s warmed up. He rotated my tires and balanced the inflation. He was super professional and friendly yet had a great personality. I knew what was wrong with my vehicle (scrapes, dings) before he fixed it and he did zero damage and 100% rejuvenation to my vehicle. I recommend these services to anyone. I read the bad reviews and can’t help but think most of these negative reviews either had unicorn of an experience or that they would have an issue anywhere they went. I suggest this company and Jason and highly recommend them for any servicing needs.

I’ve had 2 different mechanics work on my vehicles. They were both awesome! Super knowledgable and they both went above and beyond! Totally loved that I could be at home while my car was worked on in the driveway. :)

If I could give them a 0 i would they are a rip off they charged me 70 to come out at look st my car and find out what’s wrong with my car the guy went off on what we told him instead of checking the car out so he changed the wrong part and my car still doesn’t start and they want me to pay another 70 dollars to have someone come back out didn’t we just pay that the first time stay far away from theses people the steal you money! Will never use them again!

Had car worked on… Mechanic broke a part then did some BS quick fix thinking that it wasn’t gonna cause issues down the road… will all it took was 2 weeks and had some expensive issues… well I called my lawyer and he told me if they don’t wanna fix what they broke we will sue them… so I called the company and GD that music they play is so bad u wanna hang up… Any way they agreed to fix the part took over 1 ½ weeks for them to do it all cause I wanted OEM parts but it got done… came home from work that night drove the car the next day to have a issue with something they just did… how do you send the Machanic with only 1 gal of something when it call for 1.5−2 what did they think I wasn’t gonna get a reading across the dash… what a bunch of jokers… demanded all my money back and was told I can get a partial credit took that but now after this I want all my money back… And what gets me even more is they keep u on hold for 30 + min before they pick up… guess if they don’t answer next step is call the bank and have a reverse charge done or call the lawyer and having him send a letter that they must sign for so they can’t say they never got it…
WOULD I EVER USE THEM AGAIN… UMMM NOT A CHANCE.

Tony is great!!! Very reliable, caring, and gets the job done. He fixed my heater with no problems and I really appreciated the fact that he answered all my questions and passed great information to me on taking care of my car!

Stay away. First off, most the positive reviews are from CA, where the central part of this organization is located, so it is safe to assume that the positive reviews are generated by employees, family, and friends of the organization itself. When you read the views from other locations it starts to become a mixed bag, most trending towards the negative end.
I contacted this organization around 9 am on a Wednesday and was scheduled for an 11 am appointment. The mechanic was a no-​show, and required another call in. There are communication issues between their central organization and their field people, that would require improvement to be a viable service. There were tons of communication problems between sales, customer service, the mechanic, and the customer. That’s just a huge warning sign not to go through with it but I did anyways to see what would happen in the interest of using the service in the future (or recommending it to anyone else).
The labor rate is $ 70 which is the same as a mom-​pop mechanic shop, there is nothing special and their projected savings vs shops are false for this area.
The mechanic was hired to finished installing a serpentine belt that I already had on, but couldn’t get around the vibration dampener (also known as a harmonic balancer or a crank pulley). All he did was discover that the dampener was out of position, which turned out to be false. He was then rehired to repair this part, but something happened. I was billed for the belt, and was going to be billed for the harmonic balancer seperately, which is a non starter at a shop… One bill would be a credit to the other.
They attempted to bill me $ 70 on top of the $ 155 for the second job. I negotiated them together to make the second job $ 85 which jives just about anywhere you go. Then something strange happened. The representative tried to renege the deal after having a conversation with the mechanic, implying that I was a liar. I cancelled the second and asked for refund for the inconvenience and was denied.
I immediately terminated the business relationship.
What makes this more interesting was the follow up. It turns out that the pulley wasn’t broken, that the mechanic himself had broken the belt tensioner when he started working on the car. This was why the belt started sliding off of the dampener/​balancer/​crank pulley.
The concept of this type of service has promise, but this is not an organization, it is a disorganization and should be avoided.
Points:
1. No progress was made towards getting the car on the road, to the point that they actually broke a part, and tried to organize a repair of something else, which would have led to a daisy chain of jobs until it ran again.
2. Commutation problems across the board are not a good sign. I lost $ 70 but not paying attention to those early in the situation.
3. The «Customer is wrong» approach towards negotiation. This is the king of red flags.
Just give this group a huge pass.

I had an appointment with Tony for a simple oil change. Was I wrong, I was late coming home and he waited for 20 minutes due to my error. After a seamless oil change he then diagnosed the two check engine light codes the car had on. He also gave me advice on how to maintain my truck and keep it on the road. So a simple oil change turned into a great job and above and beyond job by a skilled mechanic. I will use them again. Tony Toubassy is the best!

I had a fantastic experience with YourMechanic. I was somewhat hesitant after reading so many negative reviews on Unilocal but very glad I ignored them!
Tony came to my home in Berkeley to diagnose my car-won’t-start issue and fixed it on the spot by cleaning an air flow sensor at no additional cost. This was just a month after a minor service at my local garage, so I wasn’t expecting a problem. But I was so relieved to have a real expert to come and diagnose and fix the problem.
Will definitely use them again. Highly recommended.

I scheduled an appointment for an oilchange at my house. The appointment time came and there was no notification that the mechanic was here. The website says that they will call and send a text when coming, but there was no call nor text received. Customer service said that the mechanic knocked on the front door of my house when he arrived, but I was near the door and no knock was heard. And there is a doorbell next to the door that he did not use. I am dissatisfied that there was no notification of the mechanic’s arrival.
I called customer service 25 minutes after the appointment time had past, and customer service said they would call back with details on the mechanics location. They did not call back.

I debated on even hiring Your Mechanic to begin with but I thought I would try it because the overall Unilocal reviews weren’t so bad. I should have read them more carefully.
I scheduled an appointment to have my front wheel bearings replaced on 11÷24÷15. The mechanic informed me after doing an inspection ($ 70) that what actually needed replaced was the ABS Speed Sensor and the cost would only be about $ 100. But he didn’t have the part and would have to come back tomorrow. So I scheduled a new appointment with him over the phone for the next day.
I received a call not long after scheduling the appointment stating that in fact what needed replaced was the ABS Speed Sensor and the Hub Assembly and the total would be $ 350. I was frustrated as to why I wasn’t told that when I booked the new appointment or when the mechanic was there. I am about to take my car on a very long journey for the holidays so I didn’t want to take and risks so I agreed to the new repair.
The mechanic came to replace the ABS Speed Sensor and Hub Assembly the next day. He asked that I test drive it before he left. I did and told him I could hear a loud grinding noise in the wheel and that the ABS and Stabilitrack lights were still on. He assured me the grinding noises would go away in time and that the lights would go off after driving so many miles. I was hesitant to agree to that but I was told he would come back if needed.
As a few days passed the grinding noises increased and my car was shaking every time I went over 40 mph. I did not have these problems before they worked on my car. I called Your Mechanic and Manny stated they would send a Certified Mechanic in a few days to inspect it and see what was going on. And that the grinding could have been from the tire rotation my mechanic did. I said he did not rotate the tires, and he tried to argue with me that he had as that was part of the inspection I paid for. I was there the whole time next to him and he did not rotate them.
The new mechanic came and went on and on about how bad of a job my previous mechanic did and how I needed to demand a refund. He didn’t realize that it was a Your Mechanic mechanic that did the work. He then notified me that the control arm bushing on the same tire was busted badly. The previous mechanic never told me this and he was working right were it was. So there is a good chance he broke it or just was a horrible mechanic and didn’t notice it. Regardless Your Mechanic agreed to pay for the labor for the new part and I would have to pay for the part only and then they would have the ABS Speed Sensor and Hub Assembly replaced under warranty.
The new mechanic came days later to do the entire repair and I was pleased with his customer service. I then took the car on a few hour drive and there was a horrible metal on metal sound coming from the same wheel. I called Your Mechanic and asked to speak with Manny the same representative that was helping me the whole time and he wouldn’t take my call. I was very worried as I was driving a long distance and wanted to speak with a mechanic. Finally the mechanic that helped me the last time called me back and said it was probably just the dust shield and he would come Monday to fix it.
I called the mechanic on Monday and he said he would stop by my work before 5:00pm. He never showed. I have tried to call him and Your Mechanic to get this fixed and no one has returned my calls in days. I am furious.
I am now forced to go take my car elsewhere to be repaired and am furious that Your Mechanic won’t even take care of their customers.
STAY AWAY! It is not worth the savings as it will end up being a bigger hassle.

I decided to use them for an oil change and passenger side window rolling issue. Whitney was the mechanic the first time. He fixed the window rolling problem. When he was done, I did not check if the side view mirrors were still working since they were working before he came. After he left, both my side view mirrors were not working. I messaged Whitney to see if he wanted to come fix what he broke, he first claimed the wires for side view mirror don’t go through the door. And then he asked me to get in touch with yourmechanic for an appointment. I had to contact yourmechanic twice and a week after I got an appointment to come take a look at the issue. Honorio, the 2^nd mechanic came to check it out and he found the fuse was blown and the cable was broken, possibly when Whitney was trying to take the padding off to fix the window problem. I have included pictures of the broken cable (It’s the flat one).
Warranty called 6 days later to tell me they couldn’t tell if it had happened before or because of the repair and that they would not fix it. After going back and forth, he offered me $ 50. They did not want to come fix the problem their mechanic made. I refused to take their $ 50.
I have owned cars for 14 years and never had an instance when a mechanic did not honor his work. Yourmechanic had a good concept and I would have used them for all the small repairs, but never anymore.

I was contacted by Zoey and they finally honored their warranty service. I hope they hire more people like her. She was responsive and professional. I told her I prefer to communicate via email and she granted my request.
Tom came today, on time and as ever, he was professional. This is my 3^rd time with YourMechanic and I would definitely book them again! He finished my car quickly, when I tried it, no more squeaky sound!
This goes to show that this organization is learning and improving. They are listening to their customers and follow through. Keep up the good work!

I suspect the good reviews for these guys are bought from Fiverr. It would take too long to describe my horrific experience with them; suffice it to say it involved more than 30 phone calls and dozens of emails over two months to extract a refund I was due fair and square. The customer service was so terrible I resorted to messaging employees through LinkedIn. Only after I posted a scathing comment on BBB did my issue finally get resolved.
Oh and they did a terrible brake job on my car just a couple weeks before we had to drive north for Christmas. But honestly, that paled in comparison to how they dealt with the aftermath.

This is the second time I’ve used YourMechanic. This is the second time I have felt like I made the right decision for my car and have LOVED the experience. Trung was our guy. Detailed, super friendly, explained everything, and found a «misdiagnosis» made by a previous mechanic. It was a dangerous overlook at that.
Not only did Trung complete the work in less time than what was quoted but he also saved me ~$ 200. Then, to top it all off, my hubby mentioned he was going to schedule Trung for an oil change and what happened? TRUNG DID IT RIGHT THEN. He took care of it immediately. The hubs and I just kept looking at each other with that look of «did that really just happen?» because getting excellent service like this is hard to find.

Don’t waste your time or money with this company. Had them come out to do a routine preventative maintenance at 105K miles. After the «services» were performed, my car ran worse than before they came out. My radiator was cracked, the check engine lights were on, and my car was running rough and there were squeaky belts every time I turned the steering wheel. The company claimed it was because my car had some corrosion on a few bolts so that caused all the problems.
I eventually took my car to another mechanic. The results… The Your Mechanic guy set my timing belt off one tooth, cause all the engine lights and rough running of my car. However, the Your Mechanic would not stand behind their warranty and will not fix the horrible workmanship from their mechanic… costing me an additional $ 1700 out of pocket to fix the radiator they broke, as well as getting my timing belt re-​done by a qualified mechanic.
STAY AWAY…

Don’t waste your money. I had one of their «mechanics» come out, pull apart my car, and not provide the solution until hours later. This solution came in the form of text and was 2 times more than what I was quoted by another mobile technician. The second person actually advised against fixing the car because the transmission was out, but how could that be when yourmechanic said it was fine? After I left a horrible review you know who contacted me? The mechanic via text asking why I left a bad review. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Update: I was refunded by Yourmechanic for that service. I still would not recommend this service, but that was nice of them to do that.

Although my initial experience didn’t go as planned, Rachel reached out and definitely made things right. She was very kind and explained how the process usually works & how rare it is for things to go wrong.
The idea is brilliant, because I hate going to an auto shop just to get an oil change. I think they will do well if they monitor a few things properly. I will likely use them again for my next oil change.

Checked out their glowing reviews on here before I bought a $ 19 LivingSocial coupon for an overdue oil change + tire rotation. I easily scheduled my appointment online, got an automated reminder text 30 mins prior to the appointed time, and received a call from Erick T. when he arrived. 45 minutes later, I received another call from him that he was done and got my keys back after a quick verbal update about the car, what was done, and what services to book for next time. Apparently I can also go online and check out pictures of my car throughout the process (in case I didn’t believe that he actually did any work)!
Easiest car service experience in my life — no need to drop off your car, wait around or find a ride back to work, then pick it up again. Erick was even able to email me a couple quotes for my upcoming 30k maintenance package depending on what I would like included before he left… and if you’re in the mood, he’s got a strobe flashlight for impromptu dance parties. Definitely recommend giving YourMechanic a try!
