Been here a few times when it was still Zebra. I always had fun!

usually when people are drunk they have fun. not here. i drank with my friends and yet still had a very awkward time. this place is probably one of the main reasons why I gave up on SF night life. Imagine a blind person decorating a bar and layout. thats what you get. Random seats, small areas that do not utilize space well, décor is next to nothing, girls are decked out in their forever 21 best attire and I swear some are men. Parking is horrible. I stumbled upon some prostitutes. Its in a very shady part of SF but for some reason cops love that area so its almost a gaurentee that you’ll see a cop or 2 before you hit the free way on the way home. Zebra lounge = nothing zebra-y except for that girl in a zebra print tube top that she made into a dress(forever 21 might I add) Overall. yeh. last bar I went to in SF.

Douchebag fiesta! Odd space. Drunk greezy people. Uptown ghetto younksters + neighbourhood hos. Tiresome top 40 music. Ever feel too ackward to dance even after couple of drinks? Maybe shake your head, tap your feet, but not a real dance. That’s exactly that type of place. P. S. Please, pop your collar and pass on this. «Impala» is at least more adequate.

We were only here for like an hour and half because we did the party bus thing, anyways this place really gets pack! it reminds me of a big loft dance floor on the first floor and your bedroom on the 2nd floor, its your typical lounge where people chill and relax but its been like 4 years now, im not sure if the place changed or what not.

I remember this place. when I was 21. I thought it was cool. Who knew that this place would be the hot spot back in the days and nowjust like any other club, turns into something ghetto. Wowgreat job. Where is the art deco stuff with the Zebra prints? I don’t remember seeing any.

This is probably one of my favorite club/lounges in the city to date. I’ve been here 4 times, and haven’t been disappointed ever. Walking into this place is nice, good ambiance of lighting and it goes well with the fur nature to the left. You walk up a flight of stairs to the dance floor with a diverse crowd of people and a good ratio, especially a good ratio of single women(so they say) the seating area in the back is nice, kinda feel VIPish, the VIP area is nice, I just don’t know what the white screen up top is for(if they still have it) The bartenders are awesome, they get to you fast, make your drink while still taking orders from other consumers. Plenty of room on the dance floor, even enough for people to have a break dance session on the side, no complaints there. All in all, no complains about this place except the very tight smoking area, and the flight of stairs, but seeing that they had a wheelchair lift made me feel happy inside.

I was REALLY drunk when I went to zebra lounge. That alone warrents a star. I think it was a combination of tequila shots, grey goose and cranberry, and corona that led me into that inebriated state. So I had a lot of fun that night, but I don’t know if I would have liked it had I been even a little less drunk. It is pretty big, which is good, but I remember the floor being really slippery(NOTCAUSE I WASSODRUNK I SWEAR!)…my friend kept falling on her ass and I kept laughing at her. There were A LOT of hoochie mamas that kept dancing on the stage-thing…and I was embarrassed for them. I will try to make this a useful review for someone: guys looking to get laid by a 5 or 6, I think this would be a good place to do it. Girls, if you just want to go get really drunk and dance, this is a decent place to do that.

O M G !!! Is this place serious? I really don’t have much to say about this place, except for a couple things we experienced… 1. Club… three quarters EMPTY! i mean seriously, i had so much space to myself… i felt like doin some laps on the dance floor to work up the energy of the place. 2. Guy girl guy dancing together. The first guy and the chick dancing together, facing each other. 2nd guy aka 3rd wheel grinding the chick from behind. Okay, nothing too weird right? 1st guy making out with chick WHILE3rd wheel freaking and grinding her from behind… 3. Photographer with non digital camera. Yes, camera was POLAROID!!! Not only that… he asked for $ 10!!! WTF!!! Are you serious!!! this is a joke right??? Thank god I didn’t take the offer of getting my photo taken because I was NOT going to have any evidence of me being here, so i passed. My friends, however, were not so fortunate… «Hey guys, let’s take a photo!» *SHUTTERSNAP* *PAPERRIP*(the polaroid film piece being ripped off) «That’ll be $ 10» «WHAT!!!» argument ensues… what is this… disneyland? seriously…wtf?

Context: Friends visiting from out of town, lookin to shake their booties on a rockin’ SF dance floor. To quote the esteemed Dane Cooke, «F-ck chicks, tonight’s about dancing.» Needless to say, North Beach seemed like a top option given the blend of drunken debauchery and congested eroticism. We wandered about in a drunken haze until an enthused bouncer led us into zebra. We had a crowd of about 10 which usually takes a considerable amount of time to mobilize, but we all collectively walked out in about as much time as it took me to use their beer and urin soaked bathroom. To quote Tom C, «yaaaa SUCK zebra lounge»

G-H-E-T-T-O… don’t get me wrong– I had fun BUT I’ve been to better clubs in SF. When we my friend tried to ask if the last call was already made he was ignored and the dj obviously couldn’t mix. We were only there for an hour before the club got shut down half an hour early. We probably should have went with our instinct when we saw all the SFPD cop cars and the SFPDBUS outside of the club. As we left the club, one of my friends heard a cop say«cut the circuit»…

Yikes~! Can you say G-H-E-T-T-O F-A-B? This was a random bar we stumbled across. People looked ghetto. Place was ghetto. Even the drinks were served ghetto style. INPLASTICCUPS~!!! OMG… I don’t think I’ve ever been to a bar that served their drinks in plastic cups. We ordered a shot of Patron silver. It was not chilled, but I guess you’re supposed to specify that in SF, eh? That was fine… but the plastic cup thing really took me aback. Oh, the service was bad too. Reading the other reviews for this place… there seems to be a cover for this place. Luckily, we didn’t pay for cover. Looks like most of the Unilocalers got in for free too. Hmmm… wonder why? **Highlight of this bar… we saw 4 basketball players from the Clippers.**

Both times I’ve been here sucked. Got in for free both times because my friends girlfriend GO-GO dances here. Really empty, top 40 RnB/Hip-Hop music, 8:1 guy: girl ratio. Did make friends with the bartender, who hooked us up with stronger drinks but other then that this place blows.

In honor of Presidents’ day we went out to have a few drinks in honor of past greats such as Washington, Kennedy, Van Buren, etc. Unfortunately they’d be disappointed at the night we had here. The guest list that we saw upon entrance had just a handful of names, and the three of us probably made up about 40% of everyone in attendance there that night. Hard to blame the venue specifically though, the city was as dead as Lincoln on the final non-work night of the three day weekend, so unfortunately the Zebra Lounge will suffer the wrath of my star ratings as a result. The potential was certainly there… however they did say the same thing about Herbert Hoover.

sad to say, last night(Saturday) zebra lounge was the ONLY place that didn’t had a line of people waiting to get inside. random pedestrian: «LETSGOSOMEWHEREELSETHATSCRACKIN» next door — velvet and dragon lounge had long lines of people just waiting to get inside. but zebra lounge is a pretty big club venue with two dance floors and two bars. there are plenty of seats and tables but are only reserved for VIPs. the first dance floor is kinda small and the second dance floor is bigger and much more roomy. there is also a stage on the second dance area for girls who love being on the spot light and believe me, the spot light is SOBRIGHT — you can see everything! i had a lot of fun yesterday night because the music was pretty good. as long as they played«WEFLYHIGH,» i’m happy. on the downside, the drinks are super expensive but its a fun place to hang out especially if you like the mixed crowd.

If you ever want to go to a club that is not diverse, has horrible music, and charges an insane cover charge, please go here. If you want to waste your money on a horrible place, then please go here. I’m not hating but when in SF, you’d think every place would be filled with a nice group of diverse people. No. I shouldn’t have felt as uncomfortable as I was. Swimming through a see of people who look like me, skin color wise. Let’s just say the 3 tallest white guys should have felt odd. 1. Their drinks are horrible. Watered down. Bad vodka. 2. Music is ever worse. Who dances to ghetto gangster rap? No offense to ghetto gangster rappers. Can you really grind with a girl to that sort of music? Fat chance. 3. No lines to the bathroom. Is that a bad sign? 4. No one dances. Why are you at a club if you don’t dance? Too cool to dance? Don’t get me wrong. This place has potential. They would turn this place to a nice lounge or a place to hang out for happy hour. But I can see why any old Joe would be intimidated by going on. If they ever want to get more business, they’d need to change the name, change the décor, change the management, and find a way to get more people of other ethnicities to come. I’d go again. If I was completely wasted and had no where else to go. Or if I didn’t have to pay to get in and was already drunk so I wouldn’t have to buy anymore horrible drinks there.

Just got back home from this place. The only reason I went was because my bouncer friend got me in free so I thought what the hell. I walk in and ‘Oh my God’ there were some weird-ass people in that place! Im not saying it’s a bad thing, because after all, we are in San Francisco. It’s just funny what people do when they have a little too much too drink. There were a few attractive girls in there but the rest… man, let’s just say they weren’t MY type! I guess I went on the wrong night. The music was actually pretty good! They played some pretty good hip-hop and everyone was bouncing on the dance floor which was nice to see. That was pretty much the only thing I liked about this place… oh yeah, and I didn’t have to pay the cover!

Ew. Gross. Small dance floor, shady people, gross drinks. Plus it’s in the shady gross red light district where all the strip clubs/prostitutes roam and parking is impossible. Need I say more?

I love this place. Usually easy to find in the end of a list of night clubs because the name starts with a Z. Good music, tons of space to dance, and the staff is top notch. The bartender(Mike) is sharp and takes care of all your drink needs. I like that there is a front room to get away from the loud music. The only downside is seating on the dance floor… not a problem if you’re dancing all night. I took my girlfriend, now wife, here on our first date so the place also has some sentimental value.

For those that call this place ghetto, you really need to check out the other bars and clubs around the area, I’m sorry it’s San Francisco not the O.C. :) I must admit that I went on a Thursday night, which is good since I heard Thursday’s isn’t too crowded. The staff’s friendly and the crowd’s very diverse. Music was good. Very lively. I had fun.
