Came here because I was craving steak… on a sad lonely night. Okay, maybe not sad or lonely– but I sure was starvin’! Anyways, this place is located in the plaza with CVS and Half & Half. Parking can be chaotic if it’s busy. Upon arrival, the hostess/waitress was extremely friendly and had excellent customer service skills! The interior is «eh.» Nothing too great– it sort of reminded me of an-office-that-transformed-into-a restaurant-trying-to-be-like-Apple-Bees-but-failed. Does that make any sense? Blah, I have a horrific way of explaining it– but bottom line: nothing too fancy or instagram worthy. The food was sadly mediocre. I think I got some steak, while my friend got steak+fries(I forgot what sides I got: X). The fries weren’t memorable and the steak was like… from Apple Bees. It wasn’t something I would be like, «HEYGUYS, I’M CRAVINGDENMARK G’S STEAK! HASHTAG, LEGGO.» For the high price, you betcha I finished my plate! Overall, this place definitely has quality service; however, the steaks were not memorable in my book. With that being said, I don’t think I would come back here for the steak– but maybe for the amazing service! Turn Ons: — Great service. Turn Offs: — Mediocre steaks.

I personally thought this place was absolutely amazing. The food was perfect and extremely delicious. Although a little pricey, this is the perfect place for a date night!

You’re better off going to a traditional HK café(like Tasty Garden) to get grilled pork chops or steak with rice. I got the Wienerschnitzel(breaded fried pork chop) and though it was breaded and fried nicely, it lacked seasoning. It’s also a bit more expensive than your traditional cafes.

We have been here twice in the last couple of months. We just couldn’t believe there is a decent Chinese-run steakhouse in a Chinese neighborhood of SGV. No need to drive to Pasadena or Downtown or further west for good steak. The restaurant really prepares its steak medium rare, not medium or medium well. The beautiful grill lines on the steak and lobster(see photos) are not just for show. You can taste the fresh charbroil flavor on the steak and lobster. I also appreciate that the sauce comes on the side, so I can dip as much or as little as I want. Dinner starts with complimentary warm slices of french bread and non-frozen pieces of butter(another thoughtful gesture). Prices are a less expensive than what we normally find for similar dishes in Old Town Pasadena and quite affordable compared to Downtown. The name of the restaurant is somewhat explained in the back of the menu. When we asked the server, «why Denmark?», she replied that the owner used to live there. Pretty cool. After that, I noticed all the wall décor had a distinctly Scandinavian bent. Very cool.

Great food. Excellent service. Thank God we were seated at the back, they have a band playing and it was sooo loud. Price wise — good value for good size. We tried the pad Thai w/chicken, clam w/chili sauce(or smth like that), and seafood tom yum. The last one a little too sour for my liking but overall balanced out w/the rest of the menu. Worth trying…

When we first came, we are greeted with a warm bread & butter, it’s nice. The quality of the steak is as good as what you would get from a big time steakhouse in old town Pasa or Beverly Hills except the price is 1⁄3 of what you would pay for in the upscale places. And just because they are cheaper, it does not lack in ambiance, cleanliness and service either. It’s nice to eat something different in San Gabriel besides noodles and rice…

DENMARKSTEAKIZZLEFOSHIZZLEE CHECK it. so usually when you think of steakhouse you think man its expensive Forget it right? well if you have a date or some shizz this place might do the job! To begin the interior is very quiet and beautiful and right in the center thats where the chef is cooking. The chef is Japanese and I can tell hes a really good chef because of the way he cooks the steak! So you look at the menu most of the shizz is like 20 – 30 bucks per course right? NO! you then look at the small menu thats on the table and BAM! All you can eat? Newyork steak? $ 23? WTF? I ask the waiter yo this is a joke right? no its not sir IITELETMEHAVEONEOFTHOSESHIZZ! 10 minutes pass and The Newyork shizz is on the table! Medium rare just how I like On the side they give you mash potatos and vegetables but Im already eating the steak cause Im a man. Wow super delicious. The shizz just blew my mind. The red wine sauce is sweet, the meat is juicy, its very soft and its pretty much all you can ask for. Shizz was bomb! So I finish eating and Im done right? HECKNO bro Excuse me can I get another newyork steak this time with black peppercorn sauce? sure! and it went on forever… Now reminder its not only newyork steak but you can also try lamb steak, pan fried chicken, pan fried salmon, sole fillet fish as well. I actually tried most of them cause my friend was eating like a pig and he gave me some of his. The salmon was very good. the lamb and the chicken were okay. They also serve alcohal here as well! So check it if your not the type that likes to go to fancy restaurants and you have someone special take them here and order a lot and be like I got you dont worry homie! PEACE

I came in on a quiet Tuesday night with some friends. I split a rib eye and a lobster tail with my friend and they comped us a free salad. It’s a nice family run place so it has a cozy feel to it. My steak and lobster tail were cooked as requested and our waitresses were diligent about refills on drinks and bread. I’d much rather eat a steak here than at Outback or some other chain. I’m very pro mom and pop restaurants. SGV needs a decent steak place because how many of us can afford to dish out $ 80 for a Ruth Chris steak?

Have not been here for a while and was a bit disappointed with the food. Service is still super friendly thought. ¼ of the menu items were discountinuted and covered by white sticker. No reason given; out of season or food cost increasing? We ordered 2 dinner special price range $ 20-$ 25, serve with house salad, bread and choice of soft drink. My dinner was pork chop with lobster tail, lobster tasted frozen and watery. Pork chop was just ok on the oily side. My friend ordered the Chicken & Lobster; she compared it with San Gabriel Hong Kong Style Café. The potato scallop are very delicious and were our favorite dish. Used to love this place but wonder if I will go back again…

As the review says– a ok. New York steak was good. Heavily seasoned, borderline too salty. Under cooked to my liking but it wasn’t so rare that I couldn’t eat it. Creamed potatoes were ok. Tender potatoes, not too much flavor. Loved the side of steamed veggies on the side. Lol. Fresh and cooked well. Salmon scallop salad was ok. Salmon was cooked well. Scallops are those tiny buffet scallops. Service was ok also. It was dead when we went on a Saturday afternoon. Seated promptly and food came out quick. She didn’t offer a water refill until we were paying. Overall I’d come back if I was craving steak and was too lazy to drive more than 5 mins. Meat’s better than a typical café steak.

Ordered Pork chop w/Lobster(about $ 24) 2 pork chops, 1 lobster tail, creamy potatoes, veggie, and sauce included I like the sliced creamy potatoes and the veggies hehhe. The pork chops were only ok. It was juicy but a little bit oily. The lobster was not overcooked so it wasn’t too dry and wasn’t mushy&sloppy. Escargot tasted better than most places for about $ 8. I would come back here to eat this appetizer lol YuanYang was really off!(Coffee+TEa) it tasted like plain decaf coffee w/milk & syrup mixed. Maybe, I prefer the HK style one… hmm I am not sure how good was their Lemon Ice Tea but it was $ 3.50 for one(in a wine cup) which is pricey! I don’t mind paying $ 3.50 or a little bit more for a specialty drink but that price for just lemon ice tea??? Something is wrong with them… Service was only OK. Place looked a little fancier than other Asian restaurants around but the employees didn’t bother coming by the table to ask if any other services were needed. They only came by to pick up the dishes –__– When asked for drink refills, they were like… let me go check if its ok to give refills lol(It was almost 12pm and the place was pretty empty so sure chit chat all you want but at least come by the table once in a while… Comfortable seating, clean place, clean restroom Parking is average… in the same plaza with CVS, Half&Half, and etc… On such a hot day, they should turn up the AC a bit more…

This place is DELICIOUS! My bff had chicken with black pepper sauce and brown rice. Wow it was 5 star amazing. The brown rice was soft had full of taste, chicken was tender and juicy, and minestrone soup was not salty at all. I had rib eye steak and lobster entrée. The salad was great, ice tea was too sweet but refreshing, steak was just ok, lobster was overcooked, veggies were delicious, and potato was extremely yummy. I thought their chicken was better than the steak. I will be back to try their fish. 5 stars for service too! I didn’t get her name but she must be the owner, she was very polite and kept checking on us. I really enjoyed my dinner here and I will be back soon!

Hmmmm was expecting something completely different with the name. A hong kong style steakhouse with Denmark in the name? Wtf? Definitely not European service — actually kind of rude«pick your own table» svc for the price point here. If it were cheap then the svc would be the trade off… but to navigate the hilly tiny parking lot for less than spectacular steak and poor service? I’m not sure if it is worth it. Plenty of menu items including duck on the menu but who would had thought to order duck at a «Denmark steakhouse». I went with the steak. Anyhow steak was a little thin and chewy for the price — assortment of brown sauces like typical HK steak house. Nothing to write to the relatives in Denmark about… Basic interiors. Nothing exciting and for being not so old of a restaurant it still seemed like one. Good thing for the half and half next door… worth getting a tea there afterwards. But it shares the lot with Half & Half, a shabu shabu place, CVS, bank, etc. — so at night parking can get tight… not like the spacious fields of Denmark… Worth the try if you don’t want to drive for a steak… but I’d rather drive down to the Pantry or even go to the Crest Lounge… or Northwoods Inn… or maybe even sizzler… Don’t expect Arroyo Chop House, Ruth Chris here… this is between low and mid range but okay — just don’t set your expectation too high.

I will continue to visit this restaurant if they have the AYCE dinner special. I think with the ayce, this place is quite worth it. The quality is decent for the price you pay, granted it’s still under the ayce special. It is definitely a higher quality than the HK café but a lower than an actual steak house(ie — Ruth Chris). The ambiance of the restaurant is good. It could be considered more on the romantic side but mostly casual. The waiting staff is good and friendly. I did go on a night where it wasn’t too busy. So, their attention to us was very good. I’ll recommend this place to anyone looking for a affordable steak dinner.

A very nice casual but little upscale kind of place. Very intimate and romantic setting. I felt weird going in wearing my cute sandals, I should have worn closed toes hahaha. Think of it as a very upscale Asian Café. Food: Complimentary bread and butter — bread was crunchy outside and soft inside(french baguette style) House Salad — I think it comes with entrée order. Simple typical house salad with a light thousand island type dressing. Peach Soda — very bubbly and not so sweet, very good. Shooting Star — Fish Fillet topped with creamy tartar sauce and caviar on top of a bed of sauteed spinach with onions in a light cream sauce. Grilled shrimp. Creamed Potatoes. Steamed Broccoli and carrot. Fish is the white fish fillet you get at the café, lightly coated and pan fried. The tartar sauce and caviar = YUM! It was light and complimented the fish. The grilled shrimp was grilled with a lot of flavor. Maybe a little over grilled for some people but I loved it. Creamed potatoes(rich and creamy scallop potatoes gratin). Ribeye and lobster — Ribeye was good, not as tender as I was expecting but still good. Not as salted, but good for me since I dipped it in the paprika sauce(which was also not as salted) but good for me! Lobster — average grilled lobster tail. French fries were crispy(not salted which was good for me). The BF sprinkled salt on everything even sauce. I liked everything as is even the sauces. Fish was about $ 15 and Ribeye lobster was about $ 30. Just an estimate. Service — Good service. Very nice and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Denmark Gefion Steakhouse is an upscale Asian steakhouse compared to the HK cafes steakhouse around the area. I’m not sure why the low ratings on this restaurant, but our experience has been pretty good, especially with their lunch specials. It’s quiet and clean and well décor. They start you off with their toasted french bread with butter. Delicious when hot and soft with some butter and sprinkled sugar on top! YUM! So what if the bread is delivered from another bakery.(Banh Mi Che Cali, down the street to be exact) Some of their entrée comes with their creamy tomato soup. It’s really rich and good, and not watered down like some other Asian cafes. Rib eye steak with creamed potatoes. — Steak was excellent! Tender and juicy and not overcook.- $ 13.95 New york steak with creamed potatoes– steak was also delicious and marinated with steak juice. $ 11.95 We weren’t too fond of the Bearnaise sauce, but the steaks were so juicy and flavorful it tasted great even without the sauce. Salmon and Tuna salad! Full entrée of salad with lots of big pieces of lightly stir fried salmon and tuna. It was also delicious. $ 10.95 Service was great from this Chinese young boy. Very sweet and naïve. haha! 3.5 stars for food and rounding up!

Even though I live in this neighborhood, bank next door, go to CVS drugstore, and been to their business neighbor Half n Half, I’ve never knew this steakhouse existed. I always thought it was just another Chinese joint, so I never paid attention to it. Yes, I am Asian… and the waitresses, cooks, etc. at this restaurant are also Asian. Just to make things clear. To my amazement, this steakhouse was really good! I ordered a medium cooked Rib Eye Steak with a baked potato side, along with their special steak dipping sauce. The steak came out a little over medium, which was still okay. It was quite lean with only a minimal amount of fat on the sides. Did I just get a good piece compared to the others? maybe… but, I enjoyed it with the red wine sauce that comes on the side. They had a couple other sauces to choose from, which I can’t remember the names. Anyhow, the sauce was great, the steak was tasty, the baked potato was large with a cut in the middle to accompany the sour cream. I ordered a beer with my meat, and they also served us a small salad with the meal, and bread with butter. The waitress was very courteous and attentive. She was able to answer my questions about their different steak sauces thoroughly and kinda told us which was probably the most popular and best tasting. I love good service with a smile. The restaurant was not crowded since it was during the week. A bit dark inside, which was fine, and it was clean too… since it is still a new establishment. It really is an inexpensive place for the proportions of the meat. And I really enjoyed the meal. Would I come back? Yes. It’s kinda sad to read the extremities of the ratings in here. Maybe the steakhouse wasn’t too organized before… and they cleaned up their act. I had a perfect experience.

It’s DineLA week, and I wanted to take my parents out to a nice restaurant to celebrate my dad’s birthday, but he insisted on coming here for his birthday dinner. I was a little confused as to the location of this restaurant until they explained to me that it is located at the same plaza as CVS and Half & Half Boba. RESTAURANT: New clean restaurant, that’s a little too over-lit for my preference. Totally defeats the purpose of having a cheap candle on the table. SERVICE: Came here on a Friday night, they have an abundance of waitresses hanging around. They seem a little disorganize, and random pairs of servers just come and ask to take your order after another pair just walked away with our orders. FOOD: A little disappointed. I ordered the Grilled lamb with red wine sauce & creamed potatoes for $ 18.95. For this price, I was expecting some tender gamy lamb chops, but I felt like I was eating an over-grilled steak. Creamed potatoes were straight from the fridge and was disgustingly cold. Waitress was nice enough to bring me a hot replacement, but Baked Potato ordered by my mom was also cold too. PRICING: Personally, I think it is overpriced. For the same amount of money, I could have gotten something from Outback or a decent DineLA restaurant. WOULD I COMEAGAIN? Perhaps…

Come here for the lunch special. $ 9.50 for the New York Steak(good quality piece of meat!). Get it medium rare(they tend to overcook it anyway) and you are good to go. It comes with high quality vegetables and creamed au gratin potatoes. I’d probably stay away from everything else. The pork chops were okay(the bacon sauce was good though), spaghetti was average, and the rib eye was kind of tough. Service was good, although the food may take awhile to come out of the kitchen. Here’s hoping they make it through the first year restaurant curse because I can see that this restaurant has got some potential if they adjust a few things. Did I mention they have awesome new york steak for $ 9.50 for lunch!!!
