Fortune Bakery

I usually spend so much on cakes but I noticed not a lot of people eat it at parties so now I spend wisely. Sometimes I still buy expensive cakes though, it just depends on the occasion. Every year for my daughter’s birthday, not a lot of people eat the cake so I don’t buy a big cake. This year I was thinking of getting it at a grocery store but I decided to ask Unilocal for Help! Oh! If you need decorations for the cake, Joe has a big collection; the most I’ve ever seen. They also have cookies, cupcakes, baklava, brownies, and sugar free items. The cake prices are also reasonable.
:Experience:
I called and inquired about the different cakes and the prices. Joe was very nice and answered all my questions. My daughter wanted half vanilla cake with strawberry filling and the other half chocolate with chocolate mousse filling. Joe said he could make it happen!
:Cake:
It was good! Strawberries were sweet and tasted so fresh! The cake itself was soft, light, not too sweet, moist, and dense. I was so surprised! People asked where I got it and expressed how much they liked the cake. The amount of frosting on the cake was just right. I recently bought a Mango Mousse Cake with slices of mangos in the frosting. I liked the cake as well and the mango was fresh but it wasn’t sweet.

Joe was very friendly and easy to talk to. He was helpful in picking out the flavors too.
:“MeH” Moment”:
The decoration was really plain and I thought the «Happy Birthday» writing could have been written nicer. Although for the New Years Cake, the presentation improved. Joe added a little plastic margarita drink on top of the cake.

For about 20 years my family has gone to fortune bakery for every cake we’ve ever needed, and they’ve never failed to make something we love. Ordering cakes is easy over the phone; just make sure to order a day or two in advance. Most days you’ll find cakes already made in the bakery. If you want you could just ask to have something written on one and you’re good to go! Joe, who bakes and works the front counter, is very friendly and you could tell he takes a lot of pride in his work.
The outside of this little shop doesn’t look like much but the inside is very nicely decorated and colorful. Along the walls are many display cases filled with cake toppers and little toys used for decorations. You’ll find anything from princess theme, to Monsters Inc. toys, to Snow White cake toppers. You could find a cake for any occasion. They don’t just look cute, they also smell and taste awesome!
Whenever I walk in the bakery, the smell is the first thing I notice. It smells like freshly baked cake, vanilla, and frosting. You could also smell the delicious cookies they have at the front counter. Of course everything tastes as great as it smells. My favorite is the chocolate with strawberry cake. However, the chocolate with banana cake is a close second. The chocolate cake is always sweet and rich. The vanilla cake is also very delicious. Whether you get chocolate or vanilla cake, the bread is always nice and fluffy. I usually order mine with half chocolate/​half vanilla with strawberries.
What really makes these cakes so delicious is the frosting. Personally, I don’t really like frosting, UNLESS it’s from Fortune Bakery. It’s always sweet but never overpowering. It’s light and fluffy and never feels too heavy or thick. I would recommend this bakery to anybody who needs a great cake for any celebration. This is definitely my go-​to place for cakes!

I was really unprepared when I called to order a cake but Joe was so helpful. I ordered a Minecraft themed cake at 11:30am and the cake was ready for pick up at 4pm the same day. Joe was super friendly and quick!
