Ownership change. We were the only one here, menus wasn’t the same as before. They also raised $ 30 dollar 1 free fish to $ 50 dollar(Peking Duck & drink) price excluded. Go somewhere else, better restaurant in this area.

Ownership changes. Food is actually good in Peking style, especially Peking duck and family cuisine. New place to try out

Their Website completely not working. They were not received my order and denies is their problem, and menu on that website is out dated so when I tied to order it again via the phone, they have no idea what I want. Thanks and not see you again

This is the most authentic Chinese food I have ever eaten. We had fish soup, tofu, rice and duck. The food is so tasty and not really comparable to a typical Chinese take out place because it’s more like food served in China. The aquarium engaged my son in this cute gem of a restaurant.

The Peking duck was below average. Everything else was just average. It was pretty cheap though. I didn’t have high expectations for this place in the first place.

Do! Not! Order! The! Peking duck! As a Chinese, I have to say, this is the worst Peking duck I have ever eaten. However, their duck soup and dessert are pretty good, overall, order something other than the Peking duck.

Let’s talk about the cons first, starting with their famous duck, this isn’t as good as my expectation. Taste is okay but a bit too dry. My coworkers and I didn’t really like it. We ordered many dishes in order to fulfill their deals. Many dishes are a bit too salty for us. The fish wasn’t fully cooked, so we asked them to re-steam it. For the pros part, as I said, they have deals when you order certain amount of food, they have free dishes. The golden pancake and beef wrap(burrito as on menu) are pretty good. Spinach with nuts too. Also, their servers are quite attentive too, maybe because we were one of only three tables at that time, but anyway, their servers are friendly.

Paid 40 dollars for a full, three course meal(duck wrapped, soup with duck, tofu, and cabbage, and bean sprouts stir fried with duck). The taste was fairly authentic(I just came back from Beijing and was craving duck like I’d had in Beijing), although the duck was a bit dry and the sauce could have been a bit sweeter, but that’s more of a personal preference. Hot tea was complimentary and the soup was excellent. Service wasn’t terrific, but it was good for a Chinese restaurant! Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for good Peking Duck!

The food was so good at the Hong Yei last month that our luncheon group returned today. The menus have been updated, but the food was just as good. We ordered the Spicy Hot pot Stir Fry(excellent), Spicy Lamb(which was under the«boiled» part of the menu but was stir-fried — again, excellent, with just enough Sichuan ground pepper to add interest numbing the tongue), Fish with Langanma sauce(excellent as well, and not too hot), Eggplant with Garlic and Dry Sauteed String Beans(both excellent), a Spicy(ground) chicken(very good), and a «free» serving of cold chicken because we were over $ 50. My group counseled me not too go too spicy, so we didn’t order the Ma Po Tofu, which I’ll do next time to compare with a favorite home-cooked recipe. Somehow we missed the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which is amazing. For the seven of us, it came out to under $ 20/person — an incredible value IMHO. With the new menus, we wondered if the restaurant had changed hands, but forgot to ask in the midst of the great food!

I’m Chinese American and use to Chinese restaurants, but this was different food than I’m accustomed to and it was delicious. I had intestines, flounder, some spicy deep fried pork ribs among others and was impressed. The best is we earned a free duck towards our next meal.

Came here last night with four people and a baby for the Chinese Cuisine Festival. Hong Yei had a peking duck set for four that was a great sampling of what they have to offer. The duck iteself was dry and lacked flavor. The skin was cooked well but again lacked flavor. The soup was rich but couldn’t compete with the rest of dishes. The best was the cumin lamb which was just spicy enough to make you pause between bites, but also had everyone sweating. Also bringing the heat was the bean curd and jalapeño dish which was creamy followed by spicy. The chicken skin dish the pumpkin egg yolk and the sprouts gave fresh respite from the heat. The most surprising dish was the white fish in oil that was one of the best fish dishes I’ve had. The biggest issue with this place was the service. We ran out of tea and water early on and never got refills. It took 15 minutes before we even placed our order. I would come back here for the lamb and the fish.

This restaurant needs to hire more waitresses/waiters! Food was not bad, but everything was on the pricey side, especially considering the portions given. It was inconvenient being asked to go up to the counter to pick a flavor of Snapple(I asked for lemon but was still asked to go pick); instead of listing the flavors on the menu or having the waitresses know what beverages and flavors are available. I would not be surprised if the number of chairs in this restaurant exceeded the maximum number of people allowed for safety reasons; it felt so crowded and cramped when my family and I went on a Sunday evening. We might or might not come back again.

Came here for the Peking duck, which turned out to be my least favorite part of the meal! It was okay, but nothing special, and it came with«bing» instead of my beloved bao. I would’ve liked it better with bao. We got it 3 ways, so we also got a dish of bean sprouts(with very little duck meat) and duck soup, which was really flavorful. Now onto the rest of the meal! We ordered sichuan boiled fish(shui zu yu pian), a spicy sliced meat dish I can’t remember the name of(I think it’s more of an appetizer), and triple delight sizzling rice. Oh, and a big ol’ bread thing with meat inside(more like pork sung than actual meat). My absolute favorites, and why I’m giving 4 stars, are the fish and sizzling rice. So, so good. Especially the fish. Give me that and a pot of rice and I’m good for days!(Only exaggerating just a tad :)) Service was a little erratic but I think it was due to it being Thanksgiving night and them having a full house. We still got everything we needed and left full and satisfied.

I dine here during the so-called sgv or 626-restaurant week for Chinese restaurant, this is the only restaurant ended up I when in the list. Finding this place was not easy, you can’t see it from outside. Only though inside the parking lot… That just bad set up in general. Food here is consist of little of everything of Sichuain, Beijing, and Shanghainese. I think they are kinda famous for their Beijing duck. The duck taste very plain and the skin wasn’t even crispy. You better off going duck house in Monterey park for some real Beijing duck. The lamb was terrible, it was just mostly bones… It like they those type of bone you gave to dog, I am serious. The veggie dish was the sprouts… Not fan of those, it was part of the menu. So no choice here. Only thing was good that I try was the boiling fish, it was boling hot and good portion size. I don’t see my self come back here, there’s just way too many choice here. Go to restaurant that specialized, avoid those who offer to many different type of dish. Eating restaurant in any restaurant week always more likely the quality of food is worst for the sake of saving couple or 10 bucks. Not worth it if you trust me, unless you been there before and know what to order !

The best ever! We came here for Mother’s Day and ordered the set menu which was about $ 55 and epic. We came in a party of 4 but this meal could have fed 6 – 8 people. The meal came instantly with all the dishes flying to the table and covering all the open space all at once. Lunch started with a selection of cold appetizers which included pickled garlic-y cucumber, marinated brown tofu and what I believe was duck neck? One of my favorite dishes was the Sichuan spicy fish fillet, w/bean sprouts and napa cabbage. Perfectly cooked and salty, juicy and spicy, I almost finished this dish by myself. Anybody have a great recipe for making this at home? I was surprised by the lamb chops dish, seemingly tiny and mostly bone, there was more meat than expected and it was packed with flavor. I could’ve eaten another plate of this The duck soup with tofu was the perfect pairing for the spicy fish! There was also a satisfying dish of bean sprouts stir-fried with duck The Peking Duck was fine but it wasn’t my favorite thing on the table, the other dishes were bigger hits I didnt have any of the sweet and sour eggplant with shrimp but it smelled delicious!

This place is SHADY!!! We ate there about 10 Pm and ordered off the lunch menu. We asked our waitress if we had enough for the free item($ 30), she suggested that we get this veggie dish. So when the bill came it was a lot more than we expected. So we notified the woman and she told is that we ordered the dinner menu. We argued and argues and finally she agreed, but then she said we sis not have enough for the free item that they told UA we got and she charges us for it. So after another argument we got some money back. I think they do this often as the woman and our waitress kept giving each other glances. The food was okay.

Ah the parking garage is oh so very small. But nonetheless, I made it injury free and celebrated here with the family for Chinese New Year. –WHATSHOULD I ORDER– 1) Since this is Sichaun style Chinese food, order the spicy dishes as this is the specialty. But if you can’t handle spicy, there are some alternatives. 2) Get the Leaf With Tofu Skin or any of the bean curd dishes for you vegetarians. 3) For meat eaters, get the Peking Duck, this is what the restaurant is known for! DOIT! Just trust me on this one. You can also get the Hot & Spicy Shrimp. –HOWISTHESERVICE– Order via waiter service, food is brought out within a 15 — 20 minute window time. –WHATISTHEPRICE– Depending on what you get there, expect each person to pay about 15 $ — 20 $ at the end of the bill. Source: I been here about 5 — 7 times since 2012.

I reviewed this place a little over two years ago. And, I got to change my opinion. My family and I came here recently to eat lunch and also to experience their«set» dinner. I have history with this place. We have been going here for the better part of four years. Not constantly, but here and there just for their spicy offerings. The times I’ve gone are pretty good and the restaurant always seems to be going pretty slow. They must have some loyal customers to keep them in business for so long. Anyways, let me set the stage for why this place has gone from a four-star highlight to a two-star disappointment. 1. The Lunch The lunch was typical, we came in around 12:30PM. The restaurant was mostly dead with just one other couple there. We sat down and were given menus. The other couple started to have a full blown business meeting with the owner of the restaurant? I’m not sure, but the other waitress was just chilling at the small plate food area. And, not doing much. Finally, my mom stood up and ask them if we could order. The waitress was like hold up, and started chatting with another person. She came over after a few minutes, took our order and acted disinterested in everything. The food came out and was pretty good. But, the INTENSELY bad service and terrible attitude of the waitress as well as the strange circumstances of having a huge business meeting in the middle of the restaurant weirded my family out. 2. «Set» Dinner We came here for a set dinner with some of my extended family. They just arrived and were in town to attend my grandma’s funeral. Anyways, we got to the restaurant and who do we run into? The disinterested waitress. After we tell her we have nine people and we seat all nine people, the food starts to come out. My mom tells them to bring everything out and serve the food. The table is immediately full of dishes. The food is subpar this time, with some dishes being great and others being flat out terrible. Of course, the disinterested waitress is still showing the same terrible attitude to the customers. It was a feeling where we were just unwanted. Almost as if we were forcing her to serve us. Anyways, the most stupid thing to happen is that my mom had told the restaurant earlier in the day not to serve the duck and wait if my sister didn’t arrive on time. The waitress took this to mean that my sister definitely will not arrive at the restaurant on time, so she thought hey, we’re not serving them duck until some other person arrives at the restaurant and says they are part of our party. When we got to the restaurant, recall that we had said we have nine in our party, and all nine seats had been taken. Anyways, as if this small problem wasn’t enough, she treated us like we were dumb and we didn’t inform her about it at all. I guess it was a miscommunication, but on a service stand point you should be bending over backwards if there is really anything of this nature. Another thing that bothered me was that her interactions with our family weren’t the only ones that spilled over. Another customer had asked her to turn up the air because it was VERY warm in the restaurant. After the air hadn’t gone on for 5 minutes, the customer was visibly agitated and told her the air definitely isn’t on. The waitress yelled and said that it was on, and he was just being crazy and it doesn’t get cold as fast. The problem with this is that they have a strip of paper on the top of the air conditioner vent that hadn’t moved at all. Anyways, another person on the waitstaff came by and turned on the air, much to that customer’s relief and ours. Bottom Line The food here is good, but the service is piss poor terrible. I hope you don’t have to experience the terrible waitress that we had.
