If you want to feel like you beg the owner to eat there, please try it. Went there at night for a mid night snack, it wasn’t that busy. The attitude of the owner is just amazingly horrible. I have not experience such bad attitude for a long time in US. It’s almost insulting to me. One example, We asked for water, 10 minutes passed, it hasn’t been served. So we called up the owner again, he told us to wait in a very condescending way. More than 5 minutes later finally we had our water.

$ 0.5 charge for any bill pay with card, even it is more than $ 50! Not a big fan of the seasoning for their grills. The grills are a bit over priced compare to other grill restaurant nearby, and the food they used for the grill is not very good quality, do not worth the price! The spicy beef cold dish is too sour with too much vinegar! The only okay dish is the lamb noodle soup, it is not too expensive, and big. However, if you do not like to flavor of the lamb, do NOT order, because it is very strong! I may not go back to this restaurant again, since, there are other better and cheaper grill out there in SG valley!

Came here for dinner Saturday at 8pm and the place was dead. My guess is that they’re more of a late night eatery because they open until 2am. Ordered the Lamb noodle soup, was expecting hand pulled noodle, but perhaps they were out for the day because I got thick egg noodles instead. Nonetheless, the noodle soup was good and the noodles were cooked al dente just the way I like it. The lamb slices in the soup was tough and fatty. I didn’t care much for the lamb, but loved the lamb broth. Ordered a side of chicken gizzards on skewers and they were delicious and flavorful. Coated with yummy cumin spices and sesame seeds. The waitress must have written my order wrong because when I asked to order the house chow mien(in which she repeated back to me correctly), she brought out fried rice. I asked her to correct it because I wanted the chow mien, she looked pretty confused. The chow mien that finally came out was delicious. Cooked with soy sauce, fluffy egg, and wood ear. This dish is rather oily… The Wong Lo Kat(Chinese Herbal Tea) totally hit the spot after all the yummy greasy food. Overall, I really like the food here. Street Parking was no problem. However, I will tell you that you’ll need to be a little patient with the staff as they have limited English and might misunderstand your order.

I wish I heeded the warnings of other Unilocalers. I thought they were just super picky about Chinese service but this place is super janky. The skewers were super affordable but not that great in quality, which makes me kind of scared because cheap Chinese food is still pretty good Chinese food. This is definitely not that.

I usually come here for their chicken wings and lamb noodle soup. My boyfriend likes the grilled oysters! This is probably the only place around this neighborhood that serves grilled oysters, so not so much competition there. I usually come here late at night because it’s open until 3am I believe, which is great when you get hungry late at night and want something other than McDonald’s. I saw comments saying there’s a lot of people here, but I have been coming to this place for the past year, if not two years, it’s pretty empty, most of the time no more than 3 tables. I have always been curious how it maintains its business lol

The service was suck. And the attitude of the servant is terrible! As they give the customer charge price wrong, they never say sorry, they keep saying bad word and being rude to the customers. What a shitty restaurant! Fuck

Staff was friendly, beef noodle soup was very good. I picked out several skewers and should have taken advice from earlier post not to get the shrimp cause it’s dry. I also tried the chicken skewer, not as much meat as it looks and the dry spice rub was just a little overdone but with that being said it was still tasty. One suggestion! Let’s get that drink menu in English.

Small little place with cheap skewers! A lot of the skewers were only $ 1. Seems like they use the same flavoring on the majority of the skewers. It reminds me of the chili-lime dry rub that they use in Mediterranean dishes. I like that though, so no complaints here! I really enjoyed the lamb skewer. :) And I think it would suit people who don’t normally like lamb, as it’s not very gamey. Personally, I didn’t really like the corn because it’s the sticky/sweet corn, that lacks juice. If you’re a fan of that type of corn though, you may enjoy it. Overall, the real catch of this place is that it’s cheap. :p Nothing superbly amazing about the food. As for the restaurant itself. it’s small, dinky, and sort of dirty. The waitresses don’t speak English that well, so it’d be beneficial to come with someone Chinese speaking. I don’t really mind that though, as long as the food is good!

Great option for a place to go late into the early morning like 2 or 3 am! There were lots of people there, and the servers were nice and friendly. Their beef noodle soup was huge and worth the price. The skewers are very well priced too! So we got a ton of skewers — beef, tofu wrap roll, wings, mushroom — you name it, we got it. The best was the skewer of wings, but the lamb was so-so. I would come back to try their other soups and the beef backstrap skewer thing.

First time being here. The flavor is superb. Kebab is nice, especially BBQ chicken gristle and Pork Intestines. You’d better try mutton stewed noodles, which is best ever I tried in the US. BBQ mutton kidney is just so so. The price here is not high. $ 15 is good enough for one person. Would be back there soon.

TL;DR — This place seems like a drug moving, money laundering front. Seriously, its dirty. The floors were so sticky. I wore leather boots and the bottoms stuck to the floor and made a sickening ripping sound every time I walked. The chairs were sticky. The tables were sticky. The menus were sticky. Now you ask, why did I even stay? The bf loves their skewers. He says that it tastes like the ones from beijing. Not tonight… The lamb skewers were bland. Bland with a weird ammonia-like aftertaste. The squid was no better. It had a sweet and spicy glaze and fennel seeds… but it also tasted so strongly of ammonia. Never again.

The foods here aren’t that bad but a bit pricey for me; — lamb skewer($ 1/ea): you will get a big long bamboo stick, wait… where is the meat?! — squid skewer($ 2/ea): comes with 4 small pieces of squad… — shrimp skewer($ 1/ea): one shrimp for one buck. — corn skewer($ 1/ea): 1⁄3 or ½ of corn, not sure because it’s very small. — wonton soup($ 3.99/bowl): it’s supposed to be named as wonton wrappers soup. — one can of soft drink is about $ 3.50, wow…

This is my go-to place at 1 am when I am craving skewers. I like taking my friends here. I usually get about seven lamb skewers and eat a corn skewer last for my happy ending. The lamb skewers are now five for $ 5.99. Other skewers can range from $ 1 – 3 each. Sometimes the skewers have too little meat though. They seem to have changed the flavors of the skewers. It used to be spicy and salty, but now they are spicy with a pinch of sweetness. I actually enjoy it more this way. My complaint is that they need to be more attentive to their customers. They like to hang at the register which is in a separate room from the dining area. A couple of times, I had to wait so long just to ask for the check that I gave up and went up to the register. I usually find parking in the back lot. It’s late at night, so I don’t have trouble with parking. It’s tasty. I’d come back. A lot.

It was just okay. I ordered the beef noodle soup and the 2 other people I was with ordered Lamb Noodle, which the waitress misunderstood for Lamb Noodle Soup. You need to know mandarin to really be able to order and get what you want. The waitress understood very little English and my toddler level mando vocabulary managed to get by(Haha). In a way, it’s a pretty typical Asian spot where you’re not going to get service like you would at a typical American chain restaurant, so if you’re expecting excellent waiter service, you’re going to be disappointed. If you don’t speak mandarin, you can point at the menu and that seems to be fine. The food was just okay, in my opinion. The soup was heavily flavored with cumin, but at least my beef was tender and tasty. The noodles are hand-cut and tasted like they were made hastily. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable either. The skewers were smaller than I expected, but for the price, you really can’t beat it. We ordered chicken wing skewer, chicken heart skewer and squid skewer. The chicken skewers were flavored quite similar(5 spice?) and the squid was at least cooked well. The food is more northern style Chinese cooking, so most dishes are spicy flavored… All in all, it was worth the 25 bucks we paid.(had it cost more, I think I would have been disappointed, but since it was cheap and the food was decent, I’m not disappointed) I went around 8pm, so the place was not messy as some reviews mentioned. It was pretty tidy, small and played some chinese dramas on the TV. There’s parking in the back of the eatery, as well so that made it nice. I found the restaurant when I was google-ing a handmade noodle spot as I drove home to DTLA from SGV… Probably won’t eat here again as it’s too far from my stomping grounds, but at least I can say I ate here Haha!

Not a memorable meal. The skewers were okay, noodle soup was lackluster, cold noodles had a weird texture. They have a good variety of skewers, but that’s pretty much all they have going for them. They’ve lasted a year… let’s see how much longer they’ll be around.

Stay away from this place at all costs. The only reason why people come here is because everywhere else is closed. They open until 4am. If you actually know what a skewer should be like, it should be cooked on the grill raw. These people boil everything with water, stick it in the fridge and char it a little when you order. This is not a skewer. Don’t take my word for it, if you dare go, the meat and all the skewers are lukewarm and not hot. Why do they do this? Simple. It saves time and they think customers are ignorant. Skewers are also not supposed be on bamboo sticks. Think about it, the bamboo stick can’t handle 400 degrees+ of heat. All legit skewers are stainless steel. Next time if you dare step in this place might as well head over to Denny’s. At least they cook their food.

The moment I walked into the restaurant, I knew it wasn’t the smartest idea to come here for dinner. Just absolutely minimal service here. Staffs weren’t mean, but they weren’t cheerful either. Took them a long time to bring out the food as well as the check — definitely not very efficient. Beef noodle soup($ 6.99): Okay, I do like the irregular-shaped noodle. Other than that, both beef and broth were salty — not to mention the broth lacked the beef noodle soup flavor. Lamb skewer($ 0.99): Just like beef noodle soup, skewer was a bit salty. Overall, a pretty disappointed experience. Shin Sen Gumi Yakitori isn’t that far away from San Gabriel, that’s definitely a better option than Sweethome Grill.
