Great flavours and service was good. Some if the best teas I’ve tried so far. Got a small space to hang out. Loved the choices.

They use real tea for their drinks, so you know it’s real. Not that powdered BS. Try their Taro milk tea, or my personal favorite, Strawberry milk tea with egg pudding. Personally, they have the best & I’ve pretty much tried everything milk-tea in the Bay Area. Definitely one of my top 5 places to grab some tea, which is amazing considering the number of awesome choices we have here in the Bay Area. The other places all have their specialties, but this one has the best Strawberry Milk Tea.

Great service! Awesome tea! Love the environment! My staff and I are regular customers and we love this place! My favorite is the peach green tea with mango stars!

Went here on a whim after the Silicon Valley auto show. It’s walking distance from the convention center but it feels longer than the 0.3 miles that Apple maps says that it is. My girlfriend and I tried the jasmine green tea and the honey green tea both with boba. The jasmine green tea wasn’t sweet enough so make sure to try the drink before leaving! The honey green tea was very good. Very very good. Finally, the boba was fresh and chewy. Great consistency and id love to try their pudding(they were out of it) next time.

The place has shuffled around their interior and menu over the couple years. Their drinks used to be very strong in tea flavor and now I don’t notice it as much. The drinks are still decent however. The popcorn chicken is awesome and their sauce compliments it very well. A couple months ago, they had to copy my card once because their machine was down but they made up for it by giving me free milk tea with my chicken purchase. I was on higher alert to make sure that it wouldn’t become a fraud /theft and so far nothing happened. The large cup shape is a concern. I can’t fit that in my car’s cupholder. haha.

During my summer internship in San Jose, the apartment I was assigned to happened to be right across the street from Amor. And despite the competition, after an entire summer, I can confidently say that Amor is the best boba place in the downtown area. It’s been over a year and my wife and I still crave the drinks here sometimes. I came here at least once a week. My favorites were Tiger/White Tiger, Honey Jasmine, and White Peach. The best quirk about this place is that the drinks are not overly sweet. I usually have to get half sugar at most places but I don’t have to here. Another quirk is that most of their ingredients are pre-cooled, so the drinks are always cool and refreshing from the get-go, instead of having to wait for the ice to cool them down. Great for a nice treat after an intense workout. The service has been nice every single time I came. Seating is extremely limited so don’t expect to stay. It also tends to be overrun by rowdy college kids.

This is not a real coffee shop so I was not expecting a lot as soon as I walked in since I was ordering coffee. However, they did have lattes on the menu so I ordered two. The experience was disappointing, just poor customer service all around. 1) I asked about sweeteners and asked if they had honey. Ended up getting charged for it when all other coffee shops I’ve been to include this for free. Cashier never mentioned there was a charge or asked if this was ok which was the bigger issue. I obviously had not ordered there before. 2) Neither the cashier nor the woman manager understood or wanted to take my order for a matcha latte with a shot of espresso. I have ordered this with absolutely no problem at other coffee shops. I’ve ordered even more specific versions like«a nonfat soy matcha latte with an extra shot of espresso» no problem elsewhere. However, here neither the cashier nor the manager knew how to put the order in and the manager took her frustration out on me. Even after I explained I understood that matcha was tea but I wanted extra caffeine in it with espresso she had the nerve to say I don’t understand what I’m ordering. Just a bad attitude and cashier was hopeless. They made a big deal out of nothing and made the ordering process longer and more difficult than it had to be. 3) Again, the cashier never told me how much an extra shot of espresso was to add to a drink. It ended up being about $ 1.50 which is on the higher side and I wonder if it’s because he didn’t put the order in correctly Lesson learned — go elsewhere for coffee!

Alright so I came back again to try their drink. It was okay, not the best. I got the Thai tea, and the tea was way too weak. I got 30% sweetness no ice, but it was still pretty sweet and no tea taste. Sigh. I think that’s the last time I’m coming here; I’ve tried what this place is good for! Sad. At least the tea was drinkable and is at a fair price($ 3.49 — the prices on the board include tax already!). Stamp cards available; for every 6 purchases, you get $ 2.50 off your order.

I came with a friend one night and I was able to find parking pretty close by since it was a weekday at night. The place is small, but that’s not a bad thing. They have a small«fill the toppings» bar for self serve. They have lines on how much you get charged depending on how much you fill up. But after 6PM, up to 50 cent line is FREE. I saw taro pudding and had to try it. I got the roasted oolong tea with taro pudding. The taro pudding really overpowered tea, but I couldn’t get enough of it. It had a strong taro taste and was very good. It was my favorite part. I was sad they didn’t have genmaicha =[

I was in the SJSU area and, as always, was in the mood for a snack, so I decided to stop into Amor. When I walked in, I was kind of confused by the toppings«bar»(I guess you could call it that), and so I just walked up to the counter and proceeded to order my drink of choice. It wasn’t until then that the guy pointed me back to the toppings station, where I saw the not-very-strategically-placed sign that said to choose your size and your toppings before taking it to the counter to order your drink. In my opinion, the sign should have been the first thing I saw when I walked in, but instead, it was mounted on the same wall as the door, so naturally, I didn’t see it until I turned around at the counter. Hence my confusion(and that of the next group that came in). I got my cup and my toppings, and decided to get the Hokkaido milk tea per the barista’s recommendation. But when I took my first sip, I found the taste to be very chemical-y sweet and quite overwhelming. I didn’t even end up finishing it because it just wasn’t very pleasant. Maybe I just got a bad one, or maybe their other drinks are better… The barista was nice though, so bonus points for that!

This is the first time that I have written a review of this place. The good thing is the menu, which features many types of milk teas, iced milk drinks, slushes, and fluffy snow. On the other hand, the bad thing has to do with their topping bar. You are told to fill up any and all toppings you want(lychee popping boba, mochi, blueberry mochi, lime wedges, etc.). But, you get dinged easily, if you help yourself to filling up from the topping bar. In my case, I went for their largest cup and was charged $ 5.75. Yes, $ 5.75! Outrageous. Not cool. I think that I will come here after 6PM, when all toppings are free. It’s way better than being charged 50 cents, which is what every place charges for toppings.

One of the best tea places in San Jose. You can see the fresh tea leaves they use of you take a quick look behind the counter. Their Bobba has been fresh every single time I have gone, other tea places have lacked consistency in the freshness of their Bobba. I visit tea places often, Amor & Tea Café has never disappointed. The one thing that has changed is the speed of their service, they used to be crazy fast… now not so much. BUT they have added this unique aspect. You get to literally choose your own topics by grabbing the cup when you walk in and placing them in the cup yourself then walking up to the cashier and letting her know which Tea you would like. For me It’s kind of a new and cool thing to do. Hope you get a chance to check it out!

So sorry for the complaint review: Very cute café. The interior is cozy with comfy seating and adorable decorations. The staff is the typical teenage group. With that being said, I hate to say that their service was not what I had hoped. There were two employees behind the counter. As soon as I walked in, not even lined at the register, the girl asked«What do you want?» Whoa, sorry I’m not a regular and wanted to take a look at the menu first. I know it’s not super extensive, but still! The other employee was too busy on his phone to even notice there was a customer. No one was in the shop at that time, so maybe they were taking it easy, but I really wish I wasn’t greeted with that kind of attitude. When I told her I needed a minute to decide, she totally ignored me! At that time I just wanted to get my drink and leave! I ordered a Lavender milk tea with boba, that did not have any flavor of lavender. It tasted like a frothy watered down milk tea. I hope that the service has changed in the last year, since I visited in early 2014, especially since it’s location is great for a downtown crowd and SJSU students.

I didn’t know this place existed, then again I don’t venture around Down Town often. I wish I got something off the popular menu, possibly next time. I played safe and got Matcha green milk tea. It was really good, I forgot to mention about the sweetness level, but it turned out perfectly. Cashier was nice, the place is pretty small though. So. I’m lactose and this is so far the only milk tea place that messed with me. Not sure what kind of milk they use. Other milk tea spots I can down milk teas all day. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to look for parking in downtown to go to this boba joint, but If I’m invited here again, I’d definitely try something else on the menu.

I decided to try this boba place and apparently it’s the closest one to my house. I was having late night boba cravings and thank goodness this was still open! I ordered my usual, mango green tea with boba, and it was good enough for me. The cups were huge — short and wide. The place itself lacked in space. Maximum capacity would probably be 20 – 25 people. There was also free wifi, free parking, and they accept credit cards($ 3 minimum)! Definitely would come back here again!

Amor Café and Tea has decent street parking(at least as decent as downtown San Jose gets) and is easily walkable from San Jose State and the surrounding apartment complexes, so it’s good place to satisfy a boba craving if you’re in the area. The single size offering is large, and just shy of $ 4 for pearl milk tea. The milk tea is average, but the pearls were good. All in all, nothing too interesting but a decent place to go if you’re nearby and in need of a quick boba fix.

My craving for milk tea has greatly reduced in the past few years, but every once in awhile I’ll miss the taste. I’ve been coming to Amor since the place opened and I’ve always preferred it over Quickly’s because it tastes a lot better and legit(in my opinion). I like the flavors they have and the boba/pearls are perfectly chewy. The place itself is pretty small and compact so I usually just go to the library or enjoy my beverage elsewhere. If you’re convinced to visit more than once you should get a loyalty card(5 drinks = $ 2.50 off). I’m surprised how well this place has done. Some of the milk tea places around SJSU’s campus have come and go. I remember there was a gelato place here before that closed so I wondered if this location was just bad for business, but apparently not!

This is a cute little coffee shop that mainly services the students of San Jose State University. This coffee shop offers excellent customer service, reasonably priced coffee, and it’s also a nice place to relax and talk with your friends. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. During my first trip, I ordered a «slim» sized cup of roasted oolong tea with pearls and ice. The pearls were too soft and almost mushy, and the tea itself was too sweet. Additionally, the«slim» size is actually a large. Receiving a larger cup of coffee usually isn’t a big deal, but I threw away 1⁄3 of the coffee I was given. Moreover, since the price per cup of coffee is reasonable and the customer service is good, I’ll make a second trip here and order something less sweet and avoid the mushy pearls.

Came by the other day and this place is sadly no longer on my hit list… Requested the smallest Milk Tea with Pearls and it was the 16 oz, for the same price as the ~25 oz at $ 3.75.(Is this helping with America’s obesity problem?!?) The milk tea and pearls were okay, after requesting ½ sugar. The Napolean used to be made in house for a pricey $ 3.99. The cashier sadly told me that they were brought in from a bakery. To add salt to the wound, the Napolean was all wilted and wasn’t fresh… :( They offer a stamp card program but it only gets $ 2.5 off a drink after buying 5?!? …at least they accept credit cards?

~~BobaPrincess Bobatastic Review #17~~ After a few times of redemption, Amor Café has improved in terms of customer service greatly! Their milk teas and foods are consistently tasty and savory. Chewy boba pearls are always a definite plus! AMOR still has the SAMEOWNER, Lisa, since its inception. I still see her most times that I’ve visited(past three times). A plus for me is that I have not seen the previous rude employees! Huzzah! Customer service has been pleasant. I know they’re probably tired or whatnot but at least they’re not begrudgingly rude and that’s all I ever wanted haha. Definitely get the Thaiger Milk Tea($ 3.49) + Pearls($.50) and Chicken Nibblers($ 4.59). The Thai + Black Milk Tea combo is still as sweet and fragrant as ever! Their huge 24 oz. cups are enjoyable and there’s also an option to upgrade to 32oz, wowee! The Chicken Nibbler is made of white chicken meat and a spicy ranch is available for all your dipping needs ;) Their prices have slightly INCREASED with their new elegant, black menus, but it’s a reasonable price increase and they haven’t decreased in size/portions of anything. It’s still the same ol’ quaint café with 7 tables, love seat, and stool seatings. The music that’s blasted(yes quite loud) is at least modern and catchy! Top Hits and R&B haha. Free parking is available on the intersection of 4th Street and San Fernando. There’s a garage entrance right behind Amor.
