The place has changed since my last visit a year ago. The food quality has changed along with the old owners. The new owners are very hard workers and will say hello. I wish them the best and hope the do a little more cleaning up.

This place isn’t that bad. Bun mang vit is pretty good. Banh xeo is also good but not a lot of meat inside.

Worst Banh xeo I’ve ever had! The inside of this place looks descent. I was hoping the Banh xeo would be good, but it just wasn’t. It was like one of those generic thing. Ordered some Banh xeo at my table and the vege and lettuce came in abundance which was good I guess cause the way people eat Banh xeo here is they wrap it in lettuce and stuff like in some parts of Vietnam. Obviously, I was fairly new to the idea when I decided to visit this place. Anyways, the Banh xeo(s) came out and they were huge! I was surprised at the size of the thing… BUT, it was all shell… the filling was very skimpy. Even though I ordered mine with everything, I’m pretty sure that it was mostly mung beans with a few pieces of meat scattered in the middle of a humongous round of fried batter. Needless to say it was greasy and dull. I was not impress and I was unamused by their shitty impression of a Banh xeo. What I want to know is why they think it’s still ok to sell that crap and if they actually have customers who return for more. One star for the worst Banh xeo ever. I mean if you’re going to have Banh xeo as your main dish, you gotta make sure it ain’t crappy.

Food is excellent and service is good. I would give it 5 stars except the place could be cleaner and they are sort of expensive for what you get.

I Tried the Banh Xeo here with my friends a couple years ago and it was good, just a bit thinner than I usually had. However my review is for the Bun Mang Vit, it was pretty good for under $ 10. I had it for a few times now and the meat is always tender, not much bones. The broth is light but had enough flavors. I never had this dishes anywhere else, but it was as close to what my parent made and it’s super close to my house. The service is nice and fast since they don’t have that many customer.

My friend brought to this place to eat some lunch and it wasn’t bad. Could be a lot BETTER. Eating is pretty cheap. The place didn’t have a nice look to it. that’s my opinion. Maybe I’m used to nicer looking places. For those that don’t know what Banh Xeo is, it’s a savoury fried pancakes made of rice flour, water, turmeric powder, stuffed with slivers of fatty pork, shrimp, diced green onion, and bean sprouts.(Thanks Wikipedia for the detailed definition on Banh Xeo) The service there is bad. They take your order and you won’t hear from them until they give you the bill. Never have I’ve seen them smile. Employees there need to be more friendly. The Banh Xeo here is nicely cool… Perfecto. Not to crisp and not greasy. I enjoyed my lunch here.

My friends and i were craving for some banh khot this morning. so we looked online, found this place and decided to come have lunch. its located on Senter Road, in San Jose. We found the restaurant right away, because you can see it as you drive by on Senter. as you walked in, the place looked really nice. a lot of bamboo decorations, especially the windows are all covered up with them. the place looked really clean and bright. well we ordered two plates of banh khot first. the banh khot is different than most places because they use the banh xeo flour mixture here. then we ordered the special rice plates(dac biet com dia) for around $ 9.00, it was okay, but nothing special.

I found Banh Xeo Tao Ngo a couple of months ago, today was my first opportunity to visit. Banh Xeo has been my favorite dish for 30 years, there aren’t many places in my travels that have it. I liked our food, and will be back. I ordered Banh Xeo with shrimp, chicken, and pork, plus a Bun Tom Thit Nuong. My friend had never been exposed to Vietnamese food, she enjoyed both dishes. The Bahn Xeo was cooked just right, nicely crisp, not greasy. Meat quantity was adequate, maybe a little less than average. Generous lettuce and herb plate. For the Bun Tom Thit Nuong, the pork was very good, a generous amount. Not many shrimp.

I really like this place. I ordered a bunch of things, lets start off with: –Spring rolls: It tasted fresh and the wrap was moist. Inside the wrap there was veggies with spring(no noodles). It came with peanut sauce that was darker then other vietnamese places but it was delicious. –Banh Xeo: There are four meat to pick from: pork, beef, shrimp, and squid. You get to pick 3 of the 4 and I didnt choose the beef. It came with a bunch of veggies that I ate all. I like this dish because of that. Also along with the meat in the Banh Xeo there were bean sprouts and green onion. –Banh Khot: I love this dish. It is small, maybe 2“x2″, and it was shrimp and greeen onions inside. Like the Banh Xeo it came with lots of veggies and fish sauce dip. I like this dish the most bc the its is made like the banh xeo but bite size. So, it wasnt that messy and it is optional to eat with you hands. When I go back I will only order this this. –Lemon-pepper fried chicken: The chicken was crispy and topped with green onions. I never had chicken like this before and I was scared to try it. It has a strong citrus taste and I didnt like the green onions on top. However I went with my bf and it enjoyed it. So its depends on the person, i guess. Service: The servie sucked. When I waslked in no one was there to greet me. So I sat myself down. And I seriously wait about 10 or more to get some menus. I was ready to go bc they were taking sooo long but after the lady came and talked to us she was very nice but speak little english(wth! lol). So, my bf was talking to her in Viet so it made it easier. After the long wait, everything was ok. Beware: CASHONLY!

To be fair, the banh xeo here is not that bad. The fact that you can customize your order to select what meat is put in is a plus. The banh xeo comes out crispy with fresh greens. But other than that, the place is a complete mess. The bowls and utensils are dirty. The service is horrible and inattentive. They brought our food and didn’t care to bring us any chopsticks or forks or whatever. Usually these things are left at the table, but our particular table was meant to be part of a longer setup so we didn’t have one to ourselves. The menu had coffee priced at $ 1.25. When we went to pay they charged us $ 2.25. When we pointed this out, they said they had raised the price. Also, they overcharged us for our banh xeo. We ordered two, one with two meats and one with three. There is a dollar price difference. They charged us as if we had ordered two three-meat banh xeos. And this is perhaps a bit irrational, but the people who eat here are Vietnamese«hicks.» In Vietnamese we call them«que» or «binh dan.» Not that being a hick necessarily makes you a bad person, but during my meal I felt as if I was trapped in a sort of hell — I could overhear all the conversations around me(as the place is quite small) and everyone’s Vietnamese accent and the mundane absurdity of the topics of their conversations were driving me mad. I didn’t feel comfortable having my own conversation as I didn’t want to be overheard either.

The Banh Xeo at this place, it’s alright and I liked how you can pick your own meat and seafood selections inside your Banh Xeo. Typically, Banh Xeo would usually have pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts inside the food item where personally I don’t like shrimp at all, and I would always have to make requests at other restaurants to not put shrimp in my Banh Xeo. When it comes to the quality and taste of the Banh Xeo, it’s not the best I’ve tried, but it wasn’t horrible either idk when I was eating the Banh Xeo it just didn’t exactly fulfilled my Banh Xeo cravings at the high satisfactory level.

Stingy and SHIESTY! I’ve had a lot of Banh Xeo at Phở places because in SD they don’t have restaurants specializing in it. So you’d think a place with Banh Xeo in the name would give my favorite Vietnamese dish justice. WRONGWRONGWRONG. There was barely any shrimp or pork in my Banh Xeo. Plus, you’d think that they’d put more bean sprouts in there to fill up the damn thing. NOOPPPEEE. There was just a handful in there! I’ve never had such a sad looking thing of Banh Xeo in my life! And worst of all, my boyfriend and mom order the Bun Tom Thit Nuong(Beef and Shrimp noodles) and only get… ONEFLIPPINGPIECEOFSHRIMP! WTFEEZY!!! Are you guys fucking cheap to only have only one piece of shrimp?! You might as well call it Bun MOTMIENG Tom Thit Nuong! Fix up your servings, or you might as well have CLOSED plastered across your restaurant window.

My dad took us here on a rainy friday evening and besides another table of two guy besties, we were the only ones there. No server came so we just sat ourselves. The server girl/lady came out shortly after but to check on the two guys and then she left back to the kitchen. Uhhh so I followed her and told her we needed menus. fast forward a bit and we get our food, which was not good. I had the Ox Tail Phở which was very bland. There was particularly no meat to the bone! Maybe it’s my fault because they don’t specialize in phở? My brother had the banh xeo and he said it was good, but it looked pretty plain to me… it wasn’t very filled. Not sure I’ll ever come back to try the banh xeo. It’s located in a plaza that gets pretty packed so be prepared to hunt for parking if you do decide to come here…

For a «Banh Xeo» place, I think the banh xeo is about average and it’s not the best I’ve had. I agree with couple other comments about the stinginess on the meats in the banh xeo. However they do make it very crispy, light on the oil, and also provided a lot of fresh-cleaned veggies. While it’s not the best place for banh xeo, I really like the banh khot(mini banh xeo), bun mang goi bit(mixed duck salad with bamboo shoot noodle), and the bun reu. Place is a small family owned restaurant next to some shady boom boom restaurant. I don’t like how other comments rant on the bad service, but it is similar to most Asian restaurants in the area. Don’t expect class A service in this type of place. Just happy with clean & good food at decent price. 3.5 stars

I like their banh xeo and banh khot – not perfect, but better than most places. The banh xeo is crispy, not greasy, you get to choose your fillings. What would up it a notch is a little more coconut flavor in the batter. They could also give a little more meat/shrimp filling. The banh khot is also nice and crispy, topped with a little coconut milk and a curled shrimp. I prefer my banh khot a little more dense, but their version is pretty good too. I also ordered their oxtail phở, seeing that everyone around me was eating it. I was not a fan. The broth had ok flavor, but it tasted greasy. Service was nice and friendly.

I could not blame it on the Al. al… alcohol this time, so I blamed my gf for wanting to try this new place. We usually go to Milipitas for Banh Xeo but since this is closer to the crib, she wanted to try it out. I figured it would be ok since it obviously specialized in making it if the sign is the name of the dish. Walked inside and it was a typical tiny viet place that only takes cash. you think since it’s new they would upgrade and take cards also. Restaurant seats ~45 ppl if full and it looked like the owners personally decorated the place themselves. Waitress came with the menus and 30 sec. with our waters. Great, I luv how prompt she was about the water, but she also pulled out her pad for orders. Wow, she wants us to place our orders already? So, I basically plalyed dumb and asked her what was in a few of the dishes to see if she knew and sure enough … she was new to the seen. I was gonna order a personal entrée but after hearing her explain a few of the dishes … it solidified my conclusion. So, I played it safe and got the shrimp salad appetizer. my gf got eh Banh xeo w/pork and shrimp. Salad: it was decent and you pretty much can’t go wrong making it so it was good, well, they gave extra sauce since they knew that it was kinda blan. Banh Xeo: I usually can tell if the Banh Xeo is good the second before it hits the table because you’d get an aromatic wiff of the coconut milk … which this place lacked. I didn’t smell anything! not even the pork! I cut it up w/a spoon since no knife was available and the waitress was no where to be found. Seriously, We ordered the pork and shrimp but it looked like we ordered 2 shrimps and sprouts only! wtf, I totally thought they messed up our order but I realized they can’t since we were the only ones here. This is hands down the worst place to go for Banh Xeo and I hope they stop being stingy and make that shit the way they’d want to eat it. 1 star because i can’t give 0 stars.

Oh, man… talk about a bad taste in my mouth… LITERALLY. I know it’s just a phrase, but this place really did leave me with a horrible taste. It’s hard to describe though. You ever tasted emptiness in your mouth? Because that’s how I felt. Totally unsatisfied. I didn’t want to eat more, but I had to get my tongue back to normal! This place popped up a few months ago. I was excited to see another banh xeo(Vietnamese crêpe) place. The only other place I knew with good banh xeo was all the way in Milpitas. I was happy that maybe finally I didn’t have to drive so far for it, but I was disappointed. =( First, they charge their banh xeo depending on how many items you want in it(pork, shrimp, etc) and it’s pretty pricey. When most places just give you a set price for ones that have everything. The banh xeo was thin and crispy like it should be, but they were very stingy on the items inside. Boo! I also tried their phở(beef noodle soup) because it had ox tail in it. It sounded pretty interesting, but their phở was just blah. There might have been too much oil in the broth. And there also wasn’t much meat in the soup even though the ox tail soup included think slices of rare beef on top of the ox tail itself. I was disappointed with the food here, but I’ll give them an extra star for getting the texture of the banh xeo correct. Hopefully they’ll improve on their food since they did just recently open up. Don’t let me down!

Granted that this place just opened and that the owners are new business owners, my review will be reasonably fair to such conditions. My mom owns a business and I know that there isn’t any better way to learn about customer service and such things, than through time and experience. I read the two one-star-reviews for this place prior to coming into the restaurant, so I was prepared for the ‘worst service ever.’ The waitress who took our order could use a little training, but it really wasn’t that bad. I could tell she was new and that she was a little nervous. The lady at the register, who I assumed was the owner, was very attentive – she was constantly worried about the tables being cleaned, the customers being immediately seated, and the restaurant being in good order. We ordered two large banh xeos, with three toppings each – one with beef, shrimp, and squid( ), and the other with pork, shrimp, and squid( ). Banh xeo is basically a savory Vietnamese pancake/crêpe made with rice flour. It’s texture is chewy and crunchy at the same time. If you’ve ever had lettuce wraps, this is the same thing – wrap the banh xeo with lettuce and dip it into some fish sauce. Yum! Our food came out within 10 minutes. The veggies that complemented the banh xeos were very fresh and crisp. The only complaint that I have is that they were a little skimpy with the meat. The total came to an inexpensive $ 16 and I will be back for another quick banh xeo fix.

WORSTSERVICEEVER… SAVEYOURTIMEANDGOSOMEWHEREELSE!!! My family and I came her for lunch last Sunday. I have to said its the worst place ever… Service was just so bad!!! My husband and brother in law order Phở. They said it was too small for a Large and too expensive $ 9. Its not worth it. They ended walking over to Bac Cali for a sandwich! My sister and I both order their special Banh Xeo, because the lady said it was their specialty. We waited about 40min and still never got our banh xeo. It was sad too see the table next to ours get their banh xeo before we did, they came in 25min after us! I kept asking the waitress where’s my food and she said it was coming… well she lied it never came. My sister and I got so pissed off that we just left. We walked over to Bac Cali and meet our husband for a sandwich. The waitress/server never came by to say sorry for taking so long or even care to refill our water. Believe me, I was not the only table that was piss off that day. Other tables was complaining that service was too slow. These people have no idea how to run a business and for sure don’t care to give good service. My family will NEVER come back!

This place has got to be the crappiest ever. Maybe they will get better and more professional, but I highly doubt it. –_– So walk in, there are about 3 tables taken, but all the vacant tables are piled up with bowls or cups and what not. We’re finally seated, rudely. Then three minutes later they give us a menu. The fuq? I was like is there only one item on the menu so we don’t even need one?! Butt frrrrl. When we were looking at the menus, the server goes and carries cups of tea, like tea cups as in a sushi place kind of tea cup. So unprofessional. There wasn’t even a tray she could put it on, so she did it two at a time, and trying her best not to spill it. ughh, sho annoying. Then we called them to take the order for us, and they just said okay okay, and continued bringing the tea to incoming customers. Few minutes later she comes over and takes our order. Doesn’t even smile, it’s service-with-a-smile not service-with-an-angry-bitch-face. But yeah, the poor service; food wasn’t even close to mediocre. The father had bun rieu oc, but there were no oc to be found. –_– Mother and I had banh xeo, hers was just pork and shrimp, but I had pork, squid and shrimp. 5 minutes for the bun rieu to come out, and 20 minutes for the banh xeo. By the time my dad finished eating his meal, thats when we finally got it. The banh xeo was filled with bean sprouts. It was like the meat and shrimp were hiding from us. Like four pieces max of each item we chose?! Might as well stay home and make them. For sure, my family, friends, and I will not be back.
