I rarely ever give one star reviews but I felt like this is a must. I don’t live in SJ but was in the area and needed a manicure. Well, first off, the place is filthy. The tools aren’t sanitized. She poured alcohol oh the tools so I guess that makes up for proper cleaning. She’s cut my cuticles so deep that after a day I have developed awful hang nails. Then she proceed to paint my nails(red) without a base coat?! Really?! I had to check her there! I was so unhappy at this point that when she pulled out the lotion bottle, I told her I didn’t need a massage. I asked if I could use the UV light to dry my nails. And the answer was«no». She turns the mini fan on … All in all it was the worse mani experience ever. I just had my eye dilated so I couldn’t see how was till my vision cleared up. Save yourself time, money and pain

My sister comes here all the time, her favorite stylist is Vivian. Well I had my pedi and a full set done. The girl who did my pedi did good, listened to my requests and was pretty gentle, as gentle as you can be when dealing with someone who only ever did a pedi one other time in her life. It’s weird to me; being touched by strangers. Anyways, the shop owner did my nails. I’m a mommy and always busy, so I asked for it not to be too long, she trimmed, I asked again. It was still too long, she filed it like 4 – 5 times then would talk in Vietnamese to the other ladies. I asked one more time, but I felt she wasn’t paying attention, she just seemed like she knew what she wanted for me and didn’t really bother… kept talking to the other stylists in Vietnamese. This is only the 3 time in my lifetime I have ever gotten my nails done for anything. It was ok, but I just wished she listened and made them shorter. I’m going back to see if Vivian can help me get the look I wanted.

Poor service! I went there to have my eyebrow done and I told the lady just to cleaned it up. After it was done. I notice she took all my brows out. I practically have nothing. Before there was hair left and now there is nothing at all. I’m so furious and why they do it their way and not what you ask for. So please who ever gets their brows there. I don’t recommend it. I will never trust myself going there. And I have to suffer another month to have it grow again. And beside I would rather pay more the price. Evelyn Oliver

My sister came here to do her brows but when she ask her to not do the shape of a mountain the lady did a shape of a mountain! Also spoke rude in Vietnamese when she’s clearly Vietnamese! Never doing my brow on this store that’s what I know

I used to come here all the time to get my haircut but this time, I also dyed my hair. I showed Helen a picture of what I wanted(after she made me wait 1 hour) and she said that she was able to do it. This whole process took 5 hours because she was also doing other things while she was dying my hair. The color I wanted was a light brown so she said that she had to bleach it. She applied the bleach directly to my scalp and she did not prep my hair or do anything beforehand. At first it was okay but then it started to hurt and even though I told her, she told me to just endure it. I thought this was normal since she looked like she knew what she was doing. She initially told me that she would leave the bleach on for 5 – 10 minutes but it seemed so much longer(around 30 – 1 hr). Finally, she washed it off and asked for me to show her the picture again. I showed her the pic and then she told me to give her my phone so she could get the color. She took my phone and went into a room for legitimately 30 minutes. She then came back out and told me it took a while because she had to make sure the color was perfect. Then, she put something on my hair and it started hurting really, really bad. I’m pretty sure she mixed bleach with something or she didn’t use a new bowl but it really hurt. I had to sit with that on my head for about 45 minutes and then she was combing through my hair really hard and I started to cry because it hurt so bad. She FINALLY washed it off, even though I told her it hurt a lot before. So the color comes out and my head is bright orange. I really have no idea why she took so long in the closet if she was going to butcher the color. It makes me think that she was looking through my phone. Anyway, so she made my dry my hair by myself(twice, actually) because she had to do someone else’s toenails. Then, as she was blowdrying my hair, my dad noticed there were red patches on my head. She burned my god damn scalp. There are red patches of dried blood(?) all over my scalp because she burned it with the bleach/combing through my hair. They put some neosporin on it but it still hurts right now. After all of that, they still charged my 190 $ with no discount. And after bleaching my hair TWICE, they still applied a ton of heat to it(blowdrying and straightening). I came back the next day to see if they could fix the color and the boss was talking to my dad and I really fast as if she was trying to get us out of the store. I used to be a loyal customer but I am NEVER going back there again. They act like they care about their customers but they don’t.

I live nearby, and this place has been around for years. I can’t remember a bad haircut here, but that’s probably because it’s very hard to mess up a guy’s hair (hell if worse ever came to worse, I wouldn’t mind being bald…) One day tired and shaggy out of my mind I walked back in here and was helped immediately by a nice male Viet barber. I already know it’s a good thing to talk about numbers: I say«let’s do 2 on top and 0 on the sides» because those are even numbers. I like even numbers. But my barber recommends a 5 on top or something and a 1 or 2 on the sides, I say«let’s roll with it» — he gives me a pretty nice standard crew cut, razor shaved edges. I give him $ 7 and a $ 1 tip so it’s a nice even total. I walk out of there a different man. I feel like the world and Little Saigon San Jose is my oyster. That’s «con hàu» according to Google Translate. Then I go home around the corner, play the new Taylor Swift album in my 2000 Nissan Altima, and grow my hair out to come back into a place like Busy Cuts again. B+

I gave three stars because I am loyal faithful to Helen, she is really sweet and she does my eyebrows perfectly. She cuts my hair and does a great job. The shop can get pretty busy and crowded sometimes, and it could be cleaner. I feel like al the ladies get mad cause I will only see Helen, so their customer service skills can use some improvement. If Helen wasn’t there I wouldn’t go.

I have been coming to Kathy and her husband here for over 20 years. If the notice and Vietnamese doesn’t drive u crazy, ner nail chairs are super lux with 2 for pedi’, she has a massage spa in the back with a massage pad for your back while she does facials and waxes eyebrows, or legs and what ever. She has been cutting, highlighting and unfortunately per ing my hair forever. Not all styles are great, but usually the service and intent is. Normal turn over in girls. Many attendants, lots of walk in’s product for sale and a Buddah to great incoming and going! Reasonable rates. For me she takes Visa.

I used to come here all the time when I was in high school and the first couple of years of college. I recently went back to see that only one person from my previous visits is still there. I got my usual pedicure and full set. I was pretty displeased. The pedicure took too long and when it came time to put the slippers on my feet she smudged the polish on my toe and didn’t fix it. I then went to get my nails done where I specifically asked for pink and white. She proceeded to prep my nails for it and at the last minute showed me the pink powder saying it wouldn’t look good on me and it would look too fake like how Mexican girls get it done. Not only was that racist but it completely defeated the purpose of my visit there. She proceeded to put the clear gel on my nails and then brought me to the UV station. I told her 3 or 4 times that my boots were still at the pedicure chair but she kept saying that is OK. Not sure of she just didn’t understand me or what but the previous people that have done my nails there would bring all of my belongings with me to the drying station. She didn’t wait the full 5 minutes OR check if the gel on my nails was dry before rinsing my nails. The gel wasn’t dry at all! When I got home I had to redo my toe polish and paint over my NOT pink and white nails. What a waste of $ 50. The only good thing was that she was loyal to keeping my nails fairly short as I requested. Oh yeah, also had a crap load of cut hair stuck to the slippers they gave me. Never coming back again.

I went back the other day for another haircut. Tony was exceptional. He cut my hair with time and skill as he usually does. Tony asks that you make appointments with him, so that he does not rush his clients and all his clients feel good about there hair. I have been going here for a while. and every time i go there. The shop is clean. Hair cuts for Men are usually 7 $ but i give tony the extra 3 $ for a tip. Def. worth the time for a haircut here…

I went here for the first time last weekend for a pedi and I’m definitely coming back! Kathy was super friendly and fabulous with cutting my cuticles and painting. It’s been a week and no sign of chipping and or cuticles growing yet(some places I’ve gone to in a matter of days the cuticles grow right back :() and $ 15 can’t go wrong! 4 stars because the nail polish selection was ok and it wasn’t lined up nicely on the wall. I had to rummage through a big bin. And because I was a little skeptical when I first got there because the workers were all in the back area talking and when I came in they all just glared at me. I was like um. Where do you want me to sit? Is here ok? I didn’t hear any shit talking which is good. But walking into a shop with eyes glaring at you can be pretty intimidating.
