Just saw this show at the HP Pavillion and if you are a true Michael Jackson fan, you’ll love the show. It was practically a tribute to MJ with a Cirque Du Soleil twist — aerial acrobatics and tumbling. The show doesn’t really tell a story. I felt like I was watching a concert that had tons of backup dancers to compensate for the missing lead singer. But I must say it was definitely a show-stopping performance. There was a lot going on, more then my two eyes could handle. I could not keep pace with the performances happening center stage as well as toward the back. And when those acts subsided, I was relieved to be focusing on one part of the stage. Not only did Cirque Du Soleil include their typical aerial acts, there were a lot of dance routines, fireworks, and amazing light shows. At times I was over stimulated and was pretty amazed with such an outlandish production. And then I thought, no wonder their souvenirs are priced so high compared to Cirque’s other production — Totem(I paid $ 10 for a magnet and their shirts were selling for $ 40, which I did not buy). They probably have way more stuff to pay for like their lights and fireworks. With all frills aside, this show is definitely entertaining. Would I do it again? Probably not because of the loudness issue. It was really loud in the arena to the point that I was sitting uncomfortably by the end of the night. I felt sorry for the little children who attended because if I was uncomfortable, their poor ears must’ve been ringing just as badly. I heard a baby crying during a transition from song to song, and I thought what a terrible parent to be bringing a baby to a concert. I felt sorry for him/her because it was really loud.
