Oakland Denny’s has better service than this! The people here are nice but frankly… they suck! I’ve never been to a suckier Denny’s. Our waiter gave us a dirty table; and then we seen another waiter give two people dirty tables. Our order took long as hell to arrive when it was apparent that the place wasn’t even that busy. Not to mention that before we even walked inside there was a greeting lady out front immediately asking everyone who passed by for change. And they just let it happen. When I seen that I already knew what I was in for. DONTEVERCOMEHERE!!! Do yourself a favor and go to Wendy’s.

Yesterday at 9:00pm, My bf and I were deciding on what place to go eat and I chose Wendy’s but since my bf was craving for breakfast food we went across the street to Denny’s and spotted a hooker dress in a mini skirt, tight jacket, and boots.(Isnt it just too cold to be dress like that in this weather?) She walked all the way to the back of the parking lot to meet her«guy.» As we make it to the entrance of Denny’s the lady in the front cashier(short bob grey haircut Filipino) didnt make an appearance to greet us. She frowned the whole time to the way we were seated.(I supposed she wasnt happy about applied here to work.) As we got sat down, there was an argument inside the restaurant something about his food took about 30mins to come out. The manager did nothing to resolve the issue but told him that«It’s a family restaurant, please dont yell.» The man complaint for 15mins to other servers why he didnt receive his meal and rush off without paying his previous meal before. Meanwhile, our waiter Sugar came by and took our order.(he came off as restless tired but still make a push of greeting a customer.) We ordered French toast slugger, breakfast burger with season fries, and two things sampler with our two glasses of lemonade.(the order took about 30 — 45mins long all together and the drinks took 30mins to come out as well.) Sugar came back asking about our food without letting us have a few moments to enjoy the food and see whether or not it was okay or bad.(Basically, my hash browns tastes like soap water, season fries were burnt and taste like cardboard, the onion rings was double fried twice probably reuse old onion rings batch to serve to us, and the tomato dipping sauce was old and dry up no fresh either. We didnt enjoyed our experience at this Denny’s. My bf and I decided the one on Capital near Andrew Hill HS hits the spot with flying colors!(My bf and I were thinking of the overall review of our menu and decided to not offer any tip whatsoever for a meal we should have gone back to Wendy’s.) As we reach to the cashier; greyish short bob Filipino lady wrote down a tip on our receipt and didnt know about till later on when we got home.(WTF!!? Check your receipt before leaving the restaurant. Lesson learn.) Never return here again. Worst experience.

I placed an order to go over the phone for 4 breakfasts &2 caramel Apple crisps with the ice cream separate. My boyfriend picked up the order & when he arrived I didn’t have the bacon & eggs for my breakfast, his toast was missing, & the ice cream was melted all over the Apple crisps. I called & spoke to the manager, Armando. He offered to replace the Apple crisps & have the other missing items ready. This time when my boyfriend came back, only the Apple crisps were in the bag. Boo! Smh. So disappointed. I won’t be ordering from there anymore.

Of all the Denny’s I’ve been to, this would rate right in the middle. It’s a busy location and the service was fine, but the food was okay. My chicken strip appetizer was very dry and chewy, almost like it was cooked twice. If the jalapeño chips were accompanied by something, it would make it more appetizing because it’s a topping not something to be served on its own.

This place rocks! I come here sometimes with my friends but I actually had a family get together recently. In the past I’ve ordered burgers but mostly breakfast menu stuff. I actually tried something from the dinner menu. I ordered their new york steak. I had no idea what quality the meat would be. I expected it to be like hospital quality for some reason. It was as good as if I had had it at a family barbeque. The overall quality of the place was not horrible. The bathroom was fully stocked and relatively clean. Last time I went to a different Denny’s I found a dead fly on the window sill. This one was actually dusted somewhat recently. Still the food is really greasy and uses fat instead of high quality ingredients to make their food more appetizing.

The only thing that this is good at is their herbal tea. The fact that their also have a good breakfast food which makes them the best place when it comes to breakfast food. Bacon mac n cheese bites were also something. Will recommend.

My worst service experience ever, happened at this location. Came around 9:00pm on a Saturday, after ice skating at the Logitech center down the road. We were cold and wet and wanted to warm up with some hot coffee and hot chocolate. Even though there were only 2 other groups of diner’s in the restaurant, it took almost 10 minutes for anyone to seat us. That should have been our first clue to bail! Once our server finally took our order, after socializing with the table next to ours for about 5 minutes(we could hear the entire exchange), he brought our drinks to us right away. However, one of the snacks we ordered took another 15 minutes to be brought out, and the second snack we ordered never came. Our server didn’t check back with us about the 2nd dish. Nor, did he or anyone else ever re-fill our drinks for the whole hour we waited I have never walked out of a place for poor service, and certainly not without paying. I would have at least paid for the drinks, but I couldn’t even find anyone to process the transaction. We finally left in total discussed, leaving only a dollar on the table.

The service here is the slowest I’ve experienced in a while. I’ve only been here once and won’t be going back on my own accord. My friends and I were looking for somewhere to eat so we stopped here. I ordered a milkshake and pancakes. I asked for my milkshake to be made after my food but it was given to me before my food was ready. I told the waitress this and she apologized and took it back. So, I got it back when my food came but it was not as cold as if it had just been made. Either they left it on the counter or put it in a refrigerator. The pancakes were okay.’ The wait and the experience with the milkshake was not satisfying.

The waitress forgot my order twice! Two times she came to my table and I had to remind her to bring my drink. My group had to wait 30 minutes after walking in before we were asked for our order. The waitress was rude and very impolite. She was on her phone right before and after she was directly talking to us. The food was okay but the dismal service really took away from the experience as a whole.

Obviously coming in the morning it will take a while to be seated. But everytime I come here I am received with good customer service !! The servers are working very hard and they still manage to stay polite. How ever some of the costumers are rude as hell. But they handle them as positive as possible. Again ! I’d like to commend them on being very busy running around and still having a smile on their face. I’m a creep so I watch all the servers and they are all doing a very good job. Just be patient because dennys is always packed. Like if your an asshole please stay away because these people work very hard each time I come here.

Understaffed. I came here yesterday with 4 of my friends. We had to wait 30 minutes before we could order our food. The waitress was nice but she pretty much got my order wrong. Lots of poor people hang out here, not sure how safe it is. I asked the waitress to bring the milkshake out with my food and she forgot and gave it to me long before the food was ready. It took 30 minutes before we could order and 40 minutes to get the food. I don’t think it should have been this slow. Whatever the case, something needs to change if they want me to come back.

Very unsatisfying service, as my wife and I walk in add ourself to list and the wait is 25 mins. Looking around on one side of the restaurant 5 open tables. Other side of the restaurant 4 open tables. We finally got called, been waiting for waiter/waitress and no one has even approached us to ask if we want our drinks to start off… It’s been about 20 min wait on the table… SMH Plus it’s a mess Someone contact management

I’ve given this Denny’s a couple of tries and every single time it’s been a disappointment. DONOTDINEHERE. On one occasion, the server didn’t write down our order. I thought, he must have years working here for him not to have written anything down. I’m a picky eater too and I really hoped he wouldn’t forget that I didn’t want any onion or tomato in my meal. Well, sure enough, he came back with our meals and both(my husband and I), meals were completely wrong. As soon as he dropped of the meals he walked away before we could tell him the order was wrong. At least 10 minutes went by before I walked up and asked the hostess for our server. When he came up to our table I told him that he didn’t even give us the meals we had ordered. My husband ordered a burger and he brought out a dinner entrée. He insisted that my husband ordered the dinner entrée and he can’t change it just because my husband changed his mind. I was so frustrated with the server, but my husband is way too nice. He insisted he’d just eat the meal because it was going to go to waste. The server looked at me and said, «see, no problem here,» and walked away. Yes, I almost smacked my husband for being too nice to such a bad server. I worked as a server for 2 years, it’s a tough job. When my husband and I dine out we always make sure to tip at minimum $ 7, regardless of the service. That night, we still tipped $ 3 and that’s only because my husband is too friggin nice. The other few times we’ve been here it’s been the same thing. Servers have little to no experience and are rude. I kid you not, every single time we’ve been here, there’s always someone in «training.» Hence: the terrible customer service. I love Denny’s, and it sucks that this location is the closest one to me. My husband and I drive all the way to the BLOSSOMHILL location. They’re very welcoming and accommodating. I love their servers and staff!

I have reviewed other Denny’s locations before… and this is the first one I’m reviewing on Unilocal that is higher than a one star, I’m happy to say! This location has fairly attentive and friendly staff, and the restaurant itself is kept quite apparently clean, inside and out. The food came fresh and hot even though it was a pretty busy late evening, and tasted pretty damn good for a Denny’s. I’m sure most of you reading this have been to a Denny’s, so just note that this location hasn’t cut down on portion sizes to save money like other locations. Two of us couldn’t finish a slam between us both, and I was reminded for the first time in a long time why I always preferred Denny’s over other kinds of «brinner» style restaurants in many locations across the country. Still, it is «just a Denny’s»… besides the spectacular Christmas decorations, there is nothing amazing here. After a heaping helping of hashbrowns, eggs, delicious pumpkin pancakes, and gingerbread french toast, my full tummy had a difficult time making the walk home. The next time I feel like indulging in some delicious brinner, I’ll be returning to this Denny’s.
