Coming from Los Angeles and being spoiled from all the best Korean BBQ in K-town, I have to say they really do a fantastic job especially for not being korean! Definitely will come back here!

This is at the south end of the food court. It has been packed every other time I’ve been here, as have a couple of others. I arrived with a couple of buddies and we were looking for food that we all wanted to try. I asked about the fried fish, as to whether it had bones, and was told that it was without bones. I ordered that, and my buddies ordered the crispy noodles with chicken. I wanted iced tea and the person mentioned Thai Iced Tea, and we all ended up with it. There were free refills. It took a while for the food, but it was mostly worth the wait. The Thai Iced Tea came in very small glasses, which needed to be refilled often. My buddies remarked that the chicken had a strange texture. My fish was fine, though.

Came here on Tuesday for lunch with my boyfriend. This is the review on the food. I order the rice plate with the Korean BBQ #40/#41?and my boyfriend got the Hai Nam chicken #37. My Korean BBQ was too salty and it was a little burnt. The rice was hard and dry. Like it was left outside. The Hai Nam chicken was Okay. They didn’t give enough sauce. The rice was also hard and dry. I would not come here again. The only plus was the free Thai tea and sweet and sour soup from Thai lover.

I always get the banh canh cua here! It’s also great when you have a cold and want something soupy. Cash only. I went here today and got way less crab pieces than I did with prior experiences. The price also rose from $ 8.64 to $ 8.75.

Long story short, their chicken is delicious. They have free refills of Thai Tea. The workers were VERY nice. I love their sauces. Overall, I love this place.

I always order deep fried chicken with rice, this time I decided to try sth new, I ordered the Hainam chicken for $ 8.75 and I was disappointed by my decision. I shouldn’t have order this course. The piece of boiled chicken or steam was smaller than my palm, chopped into 5 pieces. Mostly skin and bone. After I finish the dish I realized the bone I left on the side was more than the chicken portion I had. I went inside n told the owner that the meat was so little and the rice is quite dry. She replied:“Oh, really” and gave me a dont-care look. I always love this place together with Thai lovers they give out little cup of Thai tea n sour soup together with your course but I wont come back for any chicken rice anymore.

Got the Banh Canh Cua here and it wasn’t good. Let me tell ya, it was very watery and oily but tasteless. Yeah, they included some crab, shrimp and pork but it wasn’t good. Flavor wasn’t there and it was mostly filled with that god awful tasteless broth.

I give this place two stars. Just because the food didn’t wow me. I’ve had better rice plates. I got the grilled pork and it came with broken rice and this fish cake looking thing, side salad which I enjoyed, and this noodle with meat(I did not like the texture and dryness of it, so I didn’t touch that at all). Other than that their Thai tea is bomb !!! It had perfect amount of ice and wasn’t watery at all. This is a good place if your starving, will definitely fill you up.

2 stars because it’s mall food and I did not get food poisoning. I ate Korean BBQ… the meat was tasty, because it was salty. It was soft, but full of ligaments. Not the best quality meat. :-/It came with orange rice which was interesting. Also, there were some rice cakes in plastic, transparent boxes. I saw a fruit fly zipping around in there. The cashier opened the box to release the fly… and she put the box back, after saying it was just a fruit fly. Which is true, but still. Take that box to the back and eat it yourself! I would not order from here again.

I took my extended family for a lunch in Thai Lovers/Golden Chicken. Thai Lovers have always been a good place to go but since we just had Thai food a few days before, we decided to try GC instead. Our group was 4 adults, 2 seniors, and 2 toddlers. Naturally, the kids would share a plate since well… they’re kids… they can’t eat that much. So I thought I would ask for an extra milk tea since we buy quite a few dishes anyways. The lady at the counter shot down that idea pretty quick. Fair enough, 7 plates, only 7 free cups of milk tea. Worse, apparently the lady did not feel the urge to refill the mug of milk tea on her counter. When we asked, she asked us to grab it from Thai Lovers. I was already stewing inside at the time, but whatever… at least there’s still milk tea. Finally, when I was done eating, I asked for a to-go box and a small container for sauce. To my horror, she asked me to bring back the old sauce container so she can refill it and then she will give me a lid. Wtf? Isn’t this the same as reusing old plates at the buffet line? How she can think it’s sanitary is beyond me. I had a feeling she was doing it just out of spite because I was spoiling her day dream by asking containers. Suffice to say, we will not be going back to either places. Sorry Thai Lovers. We went way back, me and you, but there are a lot of other places that I can go to nowadays. I don’t have to suffer through indignation as a paying customer. Yep, I also realize it was Golden Chicken that bummed us out. However, as the banner said«Golden Chicken by Thai Lovers» the buck stops at TL.

After strolling up and down the notorious«Vietnamese» mall, my hunger senses kicked in. Took me a while to figure out what to eat only because most of the items in every food stall were in Vietnamese. This place looked promising. The lady who worked there was really nice and gave us complimentary thai iced tea WITHFREE REFILLs! That definitely satisfied my drink craving and saved me $ 3.00. I ordered the grilled chicken plate and my bf ordered the pork chop plate. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. My bf liked that the pork chop was boneless and came with two slabs of meat rather than just one bone in pork chop.(Look at my pics) I’d frequent this place more often if my bf lived in the area.

I love their Banh Canh Cua(noodle soup & crab). Probably one of the best places I’ve had the dish. I think they’re a part of Thai Lovers which I also love. Now I know where to go if I’m ever craving banh canh cua. I also liked that they had chunks of crab in their soup and quail eggs, yum! A little pricey, but def enough to share for two.

I love Grand Century. Especially the food court. I was on a mission for bun thit nuong(grilled pork over vermicelli noodles & salad served with fish sauce). After perusing all the other 10 or so restaurants, I went for the newer place to give it a try. Golden Chicken is owned by Thai Lovers I guess. Oh and of course cash only. Portions are humongous. The vermicelli was cooked al dente, the salad looked fresh and the grilled pork was delicious! I’ve had & would recommend:(Entrees come with Thai iced tea with free refills!) Bun thit nuong/My friend got the kal bi(short ribs) entrée and he said he enjoyed it Reason for –1 star: Food took a long time to come out. All of my other friends ordered food about the same time from different restaurants and compared to the other restaurants, my order was came out last.

The chicken is amazingly tender and perfectly seasoned every time. I always order the chicken with lettuces and herbs to wrap. It’s not on their menu wall anymore but they have the beef and pork versions there. I went out on a limb and tried the chicken bamboo noodle soup and that was pretty tasty as well. I will try to venture out and try other items but sometimes I just can’t pass up the chicken and veges in their special cilantro dipping sauce; the food is just sooo good and it feels like a healthy meal. This is my favorite cheap eats!

I went here to look for a key chain, but ended up eating here instead around where the fast food as. i ordered the banh canh cua and it was good. For 8 dollars, I got a lot of crab meat and it was spicy too. The service was great too, all you can drink thai tea and they kept on refilling my drink 4 times and the guy took my plate when I was gone. I hardly leave a tip for fast food, but this time I really did. I tried their coconut dessert and it was good too. I am going to come back for the chicken.

This place is terrible. Terrible customer service, terrible food, and terrible workers. I came to the food court with some friends to grab a bite. They all ordered from other places but I wanted to try a new place so I came to Golden Chicken. I ordered a #5 and I waited, waited and waited. 20 mins came by and my friends had already downed over half of their food and I just sat in front of the place waiting. I stayed patient but 20 minutes was too long. I saw the worker bring up a dish that looked like the food that I had ordered so I came up to the counter and asked if this was mines and the worker said«Number 4 right? «and I replied back, «No, I ordered a Number 5.» and the worker said that fish was for someone else. As I waited, the person who was at least 5 people behind me in line got his food first which was the exact same thing that I had ordered, the #5. She said that the order was for him and that he was in front of me. I said that he was behind me because we were the only two guys in line. She asked again«Number 4 right? «I became impatient and said«NO, Number 5 ! « 35 minutes passed by and still, no food. All my friends were done with their food, their drinks, and their little snacks. I had not eaten anything and I’ve yet received my cup for my Thai Tea. I was really hungry and was upset that it had been almost 40 minutes and that fish just sat there. I asked once more after 35 minutes if my order was ready. Everyone in line got their food and was eating it and I was still waiting. I asked the worker again if I food was ready and I cannot believe this. She turns around and says«Number 4 right? «and I was fed up, I never exploded on any worker before in my life. I told her that I had ordered #5 and that I had been waiting and all my friends were done eating. My friends told me to just get it to go and we’ll eat together next time. So I marched back up to the counter and told the worker to just to-go my order. The rest of the customers knew I was irritated with the worker. The fish sat on the counter for nothing and wasted my time waiting because the worker refused to remember a single thing I told her. I grabbed a cup myself and started downing their pitchers of watered down disgusting Thai Tea that they offer for free just to try and get my moneys worth. What made me really angry was that the entire time I was demanding my food. The worker just kept laughing, not caring for my satisfaction whatsoever. As a customer, I am outraged. I wasted my money and my time. The food was terrible and was not worth the wait. You know how food taste a lot better when you are starving? This was disgusting regardless of how famished you are. So all in all. After 40 minutes of waiting for my food, I’ve discovered how things were here. The worker was so stupid that she hears the number ‘Five’ as ‘Four’ and she sees five fingers as four fingers. The cashier laughs at angry customers and doesn’t even know what is in the food herself. The food itself was barely edible, the sauce that came with the Fried Chicken was disgusting and the chicken itself was dried to SH! T and the service overall. What service? I got robbed and laughed at. F#%K this place. Nuff said. 1 Star.

As a regular patron of Thai Lovers, I finally decided to try out Golden Chicken. They claim there are«presents by Thai Lovers» …I’m still waiting for them… hrm… Ordered the Hainan chicken and the order taker claimed that it was very tasty. I requested for all dark meat and she agreed to it. Interestingly, there was no price on the dish and I was charged $ 8.74. The hainan chicken was okay. Half was dark meat and the other was white meat. When I asked the waitress/order taker, she informed me that it is because the chicken only has 2 legs… wtf? The chicken was mediocre in terms of freshness. The hainan flavored rice was also mediocre. It was obviously pre-made and simply reheated… The ginger-onion dip was missing. Instead there was a Vietnamese-fusion ginger/fish sauce + hot sauce dip… The soup was a Vietnamese soup found in a Hu Tieu… The Thai tea was identical to the one from Thai Lovers… maybe this was the«presents by Thai Lovers?»

I’ve always been a fan of Thai Lovers; yummy thai food for cheap! so I had to try their new extension when it opened. They are now serving BBQ chicken; a whole chicken served with bread or rice. I ordered the chicken with 2 sides of rice for $ 9, that was enough to feed 2 ppl and we were stuffed! Don’t forget about the unl thai ice teas and tom yum soup also! Eating good on a budget, yay! The chicken comes out CRISPY! Not sure how it’s prepared but I’m always amazed at how crunchy the skin is, so good. The sauce is really good too! Craving for it now as I’m typing this :(

The owner/chef of Thai Lovers opened a new food court call Golden Chicken right next to Thai Lovers. We got unlimited refills for our Thai ice tea, got some tom yum soup and the best testing chicken with a sauce you just want to drink b/c it’s so good with garlic french bread loaf for the grand opening price of $ 5.50. We also age the beef lettuce wrap which was really good. I went with my husband and my 19 months old baby girl. We thought the ppl were nice, the owner/chef was nice and the food was amazing. I’ve eaten at Grand Century Mall and Lion Plaza for 15 yrs and I’m a Vietnamese person who loves to cook/eat Thai food so this place really is delicious.
