Burnt and flavorless applefritter, poor selection. I might have just came at a bad time– but the donuts were less than appealing and I can’t get over how burnt that fritter was. And dry. There are too many other good donut shops around to give it another chance so I won’t go back. Hardcore breakup.

I only come here for the sugar and chocolate bar donuts as they are fresh and so good! You know how some sugar donuts are tasteless and you can only really taste bread and no sugar? Well Hooz donuts sugar donuts are very rich in a sweet sugary taste and the sugar actually stays on the donut and doesn’t sprinkle all off. The chocolate bar donuts are really moist and chocolaty… I walked in on a Saturday morning at 10:00AM and there were literally like 15 donuts left to chose from, no more chocolate bars… It’s always like this though, if you come past 9:00AM don’t expect a variety to chose from… Donuts are $$ here. It’s a dollar for a basic donut, Really? They are usually like 60 cents elsewhere Now as far as the atmosphere of the donut shop, it’s pretty gross and dingy! I mean the floors and walls are disgusting, the tables inside are ancient and this place needs a face lift for sure… If you want to experience in my opinion the best tasting sugar and chocolate bar donuts, this is your place to go but just try not to look around and definitely don’t dine in and eat your donut there because you will lose your appetite!

Hooz Donuts is almost hidden in the corner of this commercial strip. if i didn’t see «donuts», i wouldn’t have stopped.(needed food, no eateries in sight, take a wrong turn somewheres). eats: vanilla french crueller and glazed(1.98) –french crueller had no taste/soft texture, too much sugar coating –glazed texture almost melt in ur mouth. crumbs: –cheap pricing –quick polite service 3.5 stars for value, not for taste.

Had a maple glazed donut with sprinkles and it tasted so gross! I’ve never had a donut that tasted like stale oil! The inside was soggy with oil. Yuck!

Damn you, you high-rating Unilocalers! Yet another place with calorific goodness I shouldn’t be eating! I never object to businesses keeping costs low with cash-only. The donuts are as good as other Unilocal reviewers say they are; the selection dwindles as the morning goes on, and you can’t beat the service. There are Old Regulars, and come-often-enough folks like me. In 2013, I explained National Donut Day, after I came in and the owner had darned little to sell. I think I let him know a couple of weeks beforehand this year, so he was Prepared For The Onslaught Of Celebrants. Depending on factors I’m not sure of, one often gets that rare-these-days baker’s dozen. Be sure to have a little extra for a tip!

The couple that seems to run it is friendly and clearly works hard. They have a great selection in the morning, but as others have mentioned, the selection isn’t as good as the day goes on. The prices seem fair(a dozen is basically the same price as Krispy Kreme) and the people are friendly. Will return whenever in the area.

They Open early and they have big fluffy donuts. I also go there because I think they have the best buttermilk donut bars in the area.

These folks must do brisk business. I show up after lunch and there’s very few things left. However there is one thing I want and it’s a sugar donut. It’s decent but I think the oil they used needs changing cause you can kind of taste/smell it. Probably much better at opening

If there is one thing that is guaranteed to squick me out, it’s donuts fried in old oil. While the service was friendly enough, it won’t save the taste if it’s fried in old oil. It really needed to be changed and fried at the proper temperature. My apple fritter was a huge greaseball of oil and not much else. I ate a bite of that and dove in for my cinnamon roll… really, not good. It only cost me about $ 3 so I wasn’t going to quibble over it. Dropped the donuts into the trash can outside and made tracks for Starbucks to get a small coffee and oatmeal. I had to make myself feel better somehow…

Not my favorite donut experience. I bought 2 dozen donut holes for my class and a glazed sprinkle for me to eat on the way. The later was delicious. The former was boarder line terrible! They were baaaaaarely glazed in sugariness and fried, duh, but that’s all I tasted: fried! Upon tasting the first one to see if I’d ever come back, which I doubt it, is all you could taste was the oil it was grow in and with no sugar or wetness to make this bad eating habit ;) worth while. The lady was nice and friendly and answered my questions on prices, but I doubt I will come again. Too bad since I drive by this place frequently :(

Been going here since I was little, I used to stop by every saturday morning before piano lessons. Since then, we’ve moved away & I’ve gone to college, but every time I stop by, the man at the counter always asks how my family & brother are doing. My favorites are the apple fritters & bear claws, so much deliciousness! Fast, super friendly service, your neighborhood donut shop! The donut man always throws in a few extra donut holes every time I visit!

The plaza is kind of run down so I really try to stay away from this area, especially when the safeway was there but I stopped by one morning to pick up half a dozen donuts for the office. The asian man at the counter was awake and friendly, and my total came out to $ 6ish. There were a few other people inside at 7am but most people were hanging out in their cars in the parking lot, quite a few characters. I’ve had the apple fritter along time ago and that was when I discovered my love for apple fritters.

The only reason I’m giving them one star is because zero is not an option. Probably the most disgusting donut I have ever eaten. Not only were they burned under the frosting I can tell the fryer hasn’t been changed out for months, perhaps years. Save yourself a trip and avoid this place like the plague. Oh… and it was absolutely disgustingly dirty.

The saturday crew at work loves/hates me for my regular delivery of 2 dozen donuts from Hooz’s. I’ll swing by Hooz on my way to work knowing it’ll bring a smile to people’s faces. Donuts are always fresh, the owner is always welcoming, and I’m usually in and out in under 2 minutes.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE! Loved LOVED Hooz when it was on Foxworthy and Meridian and SO happy to have found where they moved to! This was where my dad used to get us donuts as a treat on Saturday morning for a long long time… So glad to see they are at Almaden Rd. You will NOT be disappointed. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It is true the earlier you get there the better selection. I have many favorites especially the ones with the pink frosting! Their hot chocolate is THEBEST I have EVER had. I find myself going to work late to drive out of my way for hot chocolate in the mornings. It is CASHONLY but they do have a atm inside.

I wasn’t too impressed with the selection here at 11am on a Saturday, but luckily the donuts tasted a lot better than they looked. :) My favorite was definitely the crumb donut. Yum! Friendly, quick service, and cheap… We paid $ 8.99 for a dozen. Seriously, why can’t everything be as cheap as donuts?

The donut shop gets kudos for selling donuts that are not very oily or overly sweet and inexpensive at 9.49 per dozen(including tax). The staff is nice, too. However, the donuts have a strong oil taste. Perhaps they need to change the oil more often – if they don’t already. You’ll probably have a hard time finding this place as the sign is very plain and white. The shop is nestled into the corner of the building next to Quizno’s and to the left of Safeway. Bring cash!
