Willow Donuts

What the heck? Went there this morning but it’s closed?!?

Thus is my goto spot. A few extra donut holes put in from time to time.
Always a bug smile in the morning which is a great way to start the day.
Seems to be a regular spot for lots… including me.

i think this a great place to get your morning fix. I like the chocolate old-​fashion. I also think their prices are reasonable and well worth it.

So every day I drive past this doughnut shop, and every day I think «one day I should stop in there.» Today I did.
The layout of the building on the site is weird — I think it may have been a used car lot once upon a time but the layout makes it a little difficult if the lot is almost full (which it was today) to maneuver onsite and pull into a parking space without doing a bit of «reverse and forward» stuff. Which, when you’re being watched by a ton of other people all getting breakfast is always fun. Oy.
Anyway, parked without incident, had the door held for me by another patron who was eating outside, and bought a chocolate glazed doughnut for 75 cents.
Now, I like doughnuts to be doughy rather than cakey — moisture and texture count a lot for me in determining how much I like a doughnut. So with perfect doughyness being a 10 and dry cakey doughut being a 1, I’d say these are about a 4. Too dry, too much cakeyness for my liking.
That said the doughnuts are a decent size, the price is in line with other places, and while cramped, the customer area is clean.
I won’t be going back here for a morning treat though … if I don’t remember to stop in Almaden on my way in, then I really didn’t need a doughnut that morning anyway! ;)
