I’ve never had pad thai that’s tasted so… pickled. I’m not sure if it was the sauce itself or because they added a bunch of grated carrots that might’ve been pickled(or both). The flavor was so strong I couldn’t finish my dish and stayed hungry. Chicken was also meh, couldn’t taste anything besides the pickled flavor, and I only found a few pieces. The noodles were a bit mushy and chopped up, not super appetizing. Only refrained from putting 1 star because they seemed like nice people and the lady who made the food smiled at me while I was waiting. The truck was closing up, so maybe this was just all they had left?

3 dollar beef taco is good portion and delicious! It’s a bit messy to eat bc they pour quiet a bit of sauce(curry) and stuffed it into the taco. yummmm!

I’ll preface this with saying i love the restaurant the House of Siam, they have some of my favorite Thai in the area. I was hoping to get the same quality from their food truck, but alas it has let me down in a way i never thought pad see ew could… because it literally just looked ewwww. I order the chicken pad see ew and after digging into it i realized something was off. I know these are supposed to be pan fried noodles, but their wasnt anything fried about it… they were basically just boiled flat noodles with some dry pieces of chicken, and one scrambled egg and never really mixed in with everything else. I wont be trying this food truck again but i havent given up on House of Siam in general because the food there still makes my tummy happy… but this experience was anything but nomnom., And oh yea i got the thai iced tea as well… it was way too sweet, seems like they got the ratios wrong for tea vs milk.

Honey BBQ chicken was really dry and didn’t taste like honey or BBQ. Just tasted like teriyaki. Pad Thai was okay. Thai iced tea was a little too sweet. Salad dressing get was good tho — spicy kick to it. Family is friendly and nothing wrong with the experience, but the food left a little something to be desired. Maybe I went at a bad time. The mango sticky rice was their saving grace. 2.5 overall

HORRIBLE. Walk away immediately. I got the two item combo: Yellow Curry Chicken and Pad Thai for $ 12. The rice with the curry tasted like mush. How do you really mess up on steamed rice? The Pad Thai was way too sweet and the chicken had no flavor. The side salad had a great tasting dressing. The portions were decent, but I feel I wasted my stomach space on this horrible lunch.

Siam Loco Wraps makes a mean golden wrap with yellow curry sauce, chicken, and a delicious tortilla. It’s kind of messy so prepare well when getting from the food truck. The wrap filled me up nicely for lunch, and I would even say that I talked myself into the last few bites… it was big. The price is right, too(~$ 7). I would recommend this wrap to others for sure!

Horrible experience!!! I highly recommend you use cash here. When the cashier swiped my card, he didn’t give the device for me to sign. I thought that was odd or perhaps it was simply part of their process or the threshold amount did not warrant one. Fortunately, I linked my debit card to my e-mail address, so I was able to review the transaction. He overcharged me! $ 12.50 instead of $ 5.00 for a single order of the sticky rice mango. And my signature was forged!!! Returned to the cashier and he gave me a $ 10 refund. So, technically, I still paid $ 2.50 for it. But that wasn’t the principle. He forged my signature Will definitely call my bank to cancel my card!

Had their food at the Saratoga eats food truck event and it was really good. We had: 2 duck tacos for $ 8 A pad thai and(yellow?) curry with rice combo for $ 12 The pad thai was seriously good. I get really fussy when it comes to pad thai but this one was spot on. Nice level of heat and good distinct flavors. The yellow curry was nice but also just that(good meat portions though). The duck tacos were fantastic though — wow are they good! I could have easily spent all my money on this. They came out super quickly(3 min or so) so I was worried that the meat would be dry but none of that. Yummy flavored bits of bird that still stood out next to all the other yummy and slightly tangy ingredients. They were so good that I was bummed out that I had to share them with my husband. Hope to see you next time at the Saratoga eats thing guys because I need those duck tacos!

Stopped by at off the grid and grabbed a Pad Thai ‘medium.’ We waited less than 10 minutes for our order and the Pad Thai was as good as any I’ve ever had, and the heat level for a medium seems about right. I could definitely go spicier, and most likely will at my next opportunity.

I was at Off The Grid Sunnyvale and Siam Loco Wraps had their Food truck there. I perused their Menu Board and ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and the Duck Tacos . I paid by Visa Card. In 15 Minutes my food was ready . The Pad Thai was pretty tasty and not to oily. Pretty Well made, Plenty of Shrimp. But the true Superstar was the Duck Tacos. They are packed full of flavor and truely a treat.

Overall this place is Eh. Thai tea is pretty good though nothing special. Two tacos for $ 6, I tried beef and chicken. It comes with some orange-pinkish sauce which was a little too sweet, the meat tasted good but it looked more like pork to me than beef/chicken… At first they got my order wrong and quickly fixed it for me which was nice but I won’t be coming back here, the food isn’t anything special. My friend got their roti wrap and it was covered in sweet sticky sauce making it soggy and not tasty :(plus it was a hefty $ 9 for something 1⁄3 the size of a chipotle burrito(yes chipotle burritos are one of my made up currencies) It’s also strange how the truck has drawings on it of crepes and people holding crepes???

Pretty disappointed with the truck. The ‘wrap’ isn’t really… eatable as a wrap. They throw curry and rice and some veggies in a tortilla, and send you on your way. But it isn’t eatable in that form, because the curry isn’t adjusted at all for the wrap. It’s a liquid mess. I wouldn’t mind so much if it was a bowl or something, but why even put it in a tortilla if you can’t eat it in that form? I think it would be cool if there was a thicker curry they could use for the wrap, something that would hold with the tortilla. The red curry itself wasn’t particularly notable, though it was spicy, which was nice! I don’t mind the prices. Seem like normal food truck prices. While it’s true that you can basically get the same thing for a couple bucks less at a restaurant, it’s a food truck. The costs are different. The arrangements are different.

The food is completely delicious– loved both the Thai tacos and the red curry burrito, though the latter was pretty messy. The prices are a bit on the high side(~$ 9 for a burrito or taco plate) and they’re not the fastest truck, but the taste makes up for it, as does the Diet Coke. Plus, of course, the food truck experience!

This review is for House of Siam on Wheels at Lomita Mall, in Stanford University. Food here is OKAY. I wouldn’t say it’s the most authentic thai out there but it does the job, especially since there aren’t many places on Stanford campus that sell thai(the only other one is Thai Café. Net Appetit stopped coming to Stanford). The lunch menu breaks down into entrees, wraps or a fusion taco. Entrees include pad thai, red and yellow curry, basil stir fry. You can order two entrees for $ 11 or 1 entrée for $ 9. Two entrees is pretty filling, but 1 entrée is a little small for me. I have tried the red veggie curry, basil tofu and red curry wrap. All of them are pretty good thai food, coming from a food truck. It can be a little on the oily side, but I appreciate that they are pretty conscious and honest of the ingredients they use, at least based on the sign they have on the truck. For example: organic chicken, free-range eggs, fresh noodles, jasmine rice from thailand. I thought the red curry was a little too salty for my taste, both as an entrée and in a wrap. Their spicy level is definitely on the mild side. I asked for spicy and barely felt a kick. That being said, I’m used to thai restaurants that serve food on the spicier side. Overall, pretty good. It’s more expensive than Thai Café but definitely tastes more authentic. Unfortunately, doesn’t list them on their website when they visit(not sure why). So you might want to check often at the location to catch them.

House of Siam meets CSU, East Bay. This truck is one of a few that has been given access to hungry students on campus two days a week. The food trucks are a welcome change for this captive audience — the other choices are Aramark corporate big box spots(Panda Express, Subway, you get the idea). If you aren’t familiar with the campus, it is located at the top of a hill, away from downtown so if you leave to get something decent to eat there is no guarantee that you’ll find a parking spot on your return. I’ve eaten here on two occasions. Both times service was quick and friendly. The Yellow Curry Wrap was different but good. I ordered it spicy and it had some spicy but not too much. Second time I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and it was just meh. I ordered medium and it was still fairly bland. I used a little of the chili sauce but should have put it all over. The chicken was ok but rice noodles were clumpy. The scallions were raw and were not chopped, served in large pieces which added an odd texture to this dish. Nice to have choices on campus and will try the Duck Tacos next time.

Why does the restaurant food not translate so well to the food truck? AGHWHYYYY?! I loved going to House of Siam the restaurant during my college days.(It was«fancy eating» days to be exact.) I loved the curry and the little scoop of rice that matched it. Siam on Wheels is a poor representative of that. It’s not just my nostalgia. I feel like there’s something that didn’t translate from restaurant to truck. Service is spotty. A few times it’s lightning quick and other times I nearly finish up my lunch hour waiting for my food. On the plus side the mango sticky rice is still amazing.

Siam Loco Wraps had pics of awards for the southbay based«House of Siam» eatery. either this is a reinvention of their house of siam food truck or this is a «son of» version. locale: san lorenzo street eats(8⁄22) menu” entress(9/2for 11), wraps, tacos eats: beef and chickne taco(2⁄6) –both chicken and beef bland, dry and tasteless –peanut sauce and hot sauce was pretty good –veggie(cabbage, carrots, etc.) fresher than the meats –room temperature taco wrap was a turn off crumbs: –truck understaffed, cashier had to help out order assembler –wait time 10 – 15 minutes for already cooked food which needed to assembled. –food similiar to house of siam’s food truck: poorly cooked –ticket system chaotic. no ticket stub given, just a number. –food pricey for substandard precooked food. –save your $$, food cheaper/tastier at regular thai eatery. –per website, crepes has cheese in it.

I came across Siam Loco Wraps at the Chinese New Year Food Truck Fest in Sunnyvale. I know this review is a bit late, but I started the review back in March… so it’s still aplicable! :P Very tasty yellow curry chicken crêpe. You can select your level of spice. For me, the spicier the better! The crêpe was a pretty good size. It came with a fresh side salad. I really enjoyed the curry — very similar to thai yellow curry with chicken. I ate every bite and was super stuffed. :) I could have used a bit more pepper flakes though! I also ordered the thai tea — wasn’t excessively sweet. Two thumbs up!

It was a nice Friday night, not too windy nor hot so we decided to mosey on out to moveable feast. I suppose Siam Loco Wraps is still new because there weren’t many patrons in line. The yellow curry crêpe caught my eye so I decided to try it. I was unaware that it came with some salad so that was a pleasant surprise. The woman taking my order was kind of cranky when I asked her if the wrap version was roti or tortilla. She said it’s like the Mexican tortilla wrap, k, I got it. I was just curious because I saw roti bouquet on the menu! Anyway, the curry was super sweet and had no kick to it. I wasn’t asked for any spice level so I had no idea I could choose. The chunks of sweet potato were huge! Kept having to break ‘em down so I could enjoy some chicken & crêpe too. I found it kind of odd that there was cheese… I really wish that they mentioned it somewhere because I have a dairy allergy & seriously had a bad stomach ache. Pretty dangerous because you wouldn’t expect cheese in Thai food… My experience was very disappointing. I like their concept of using crepes though. Just wish they would warn you about the dairy. For $ 9, it was wasn’t worth my troubles.

Hooray for a brand new food truck in the South Bay /Peninsula! This is the sister truck of the House of Siam on Wheels, but their specialty is all wraps — hence the name. ;) The crepes are filled with Thai recipes and can be ordered at any level of spiciness. I had the pleasure of sampling the food and meeting the owners at a Chinese New Year food truck fair on Saturday. This brand new truck had just started operations a week prior, and they were already doing a great job. The **Yellow Curry Chicken Crêpe** is completely delicious. It is a generously sized crêpe that takes up the whole plate and is best eaten fork-and-knife style because of the saucy filling. Lots of potatoes and pieces of chicken doused in a perfectly spiced yellow curry are wrapped in a crêpe that has a nice thin texture. I almost forgot to take a picture as I was so excited to try my crêpe — it looks a little gross in the photo, but I assure you it tastes WAY better than it looks. I was all over that crêpe, and then washed it down with some refreshing **Thai Iced Tea**. A very satisfying meal!( ) The truck itself is very cute with mural-style artwork depicting people enjoying crepes.( ) The logo is bright and should call everyone’s attention to the truck’s presence.( ) As this truck goes all over the South Bay and even up to the Peninsula, you can check out their location on Twitter(@siamlocowraps) or Facebook( ). Welcome, Siam Loco Wraps! Can’t wait to eat you again!
