This place was nice, but I the wait staff had an attitude. I had two or three drinks and ordered two appetizers. The waitress seemed fixated on the fact that my friend was just drinking water. Yes, we were there for about two hours, but I don’t think that’s an excuse for the wait staff to be rude and pressure us to free up the table.

Yummy cocktails and cute bites to eat! Great twist on classic American dishes. Haven’t been here in awhile, it’s never a place I think of when I want to grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks, probably because it’s across the street from Santana Row, so I’d rather go some place there. But if you’ve never been I would recommend going. It’s really yummy and a fun twist on some of my all time favorite dishes :-)

It was not the ideal venue for our party on a recent Friday night. We were a group of 20. We were meeting for dinner, then some dancing. So they seated us on the lounge side of the place. The dining area was all 4-top booths. The music was on the loud side for our dinner, but, we could still talk comfortably. We all ordered various items from the menu and shared. The waitress was very patient with us, allowing all of us to open our own tabs. I don’t remember what we ate, but I’m willing to bet that we ordered everything on the menu, and I got to sample it all. It was all really yummy. My favorite dish was the red curry and cheese dish. Even though the food was really good, it was difficult to enjoy our meal while seated on the lounge side of the place. Part way through our meal, they decided to turn the music up more. Signal to start dancing — which we did. We were so early, that we had the place to ourselved for a long time. When were were tired, and ready to go, around 10-ish, people were slowing trickling in. I love that the DJ plays the video for the song that they are playing. Having the trubate coupon definitely made it even more worth the experience:

Finally made it to KL. We purposely went for an early dinner at 6:30. I wanted to see the place before dark. I like this lounge. Lots of common area to sit comfortably and actually«lounge». Lovely staff and clean. I like their décor and the easy parking. They do valet when it gets busy. I was surprised to find that their food is not bad at all. We started with the potato lollipop and was surprised by the adequate heat. We also had the Kabob Rolls which was really good. Lovely taste and very fresh. My favorite was hands down the Chili Chicken. It was the spicy kick that got me hooked. Just perfect and not overpowering at all. the other dish that we had was the Butter Chicken. I also enjoyed their cocktail called the Meditation. It is now my favorite! :) I must admit the portions here are not huge by any means but not small either. Just enough for two people. Our Trubates deal was $ 40 for $ 80 and it came with two flutes of really good champagne.

This was my 2nd time visiting this joint. The 1st time, I only grabbed drinks with friends. I remembered it being an Asian Fusion restaurant. This time around, my girlfriends and I decided to check out their Happy Hour! What a mistake! The menu changes pretty often and the food could have been better. This lounge and restaurant is located right across the street from Santana Row. It’s not in a bad location yet they can’t seem to get anyone to come in. This place is pretty much dead during Happy Hour. We had the lamb and vegetarian samosas… could have been better. We also ordered the bread and cheese platter. It wasn’t the typical bread and cheese platter we were thinking. This was naan with melted shredded cheese on top. We also ordered the Potato Lollypops(deep fried mashed potato cooked with Indian spices and served with mint sauce). This was ok but 4 really small lollypops for $ 5. There’s only about 4 drinks that are Happy Hour prices, so we went ahead and ordered the Pompano(Pearl Pmegranate vodka, Limoncello, lime juice, and a pomegranate ice cube). This drink was actually pretty good and refreshing! Only one suggestion for this place… only come here for the drinks!

Went to Kaama Lounge apres-dinner on the Row. It’s nice option to have by the Row(Santana Row) especially with the limited(boring at most times) 2⁄3 places to go every now and then to enjoy a drink or two with friends. Bar tender and the DJ, both knew their stuff prettttty well, good mixing of songs and alcohol, hip-hop, 80s, grey goose and a splash of soda, a little bit of Bollywood here and there and a little bit of tequila everywhere. Had fun dancing with friends

Review for Lounge only. Wow this place SUCKS. Always see this place when driving by to SR and heard about it from a couple of friends. Finally came by this weekend and what the heckkk. Friday night around 11pm and there’s a handful of people there. Décor is so so and music was trancy with lasers everywhere. Decided we better get a drink fast or we would probably leave. Just that it took us almost HALFANHOUR waiting for our drinks! There were 2 bar tenders and the place wasn’t even full. But SOMEHOW they busied themselves for half an hour while we stood there and watched. Acknowledged us once with a «be right with you» but then went right back on doing who knows what because there were quiet a few of us waiting around. FINALLY they ask what drinks we want– I wanted a Johnnie and coke and she asked a whole bunch of stupid questions«is black label ok?» «did you want the Johnnie and coke together or separate?» «do you want ice?» and this was all for ONE drink. My friend wanted ginger ale and Jameson and I guess they didn’t have ginger ale? so they used some ginger syrup or something and added club soda = NASTY We all gulped down our drinks as fast as we could and left. Weird crowd too… middle aged people getting freaky with foreign women. Don’t think I’ll ever be back.

When it comes to Kaama’s music, it’s a hit-or miss. For everything else… The first time I was here, my friends Alex, Charlene and I decided to just check the place out because we were planning on booking the place for our«quarterly» shebang. A common friend suggested the place and I really haven’t heard it existed before that. We arrive around 6:30 pm and we were greeted by Liza who we spoke to on the phone. The deals were great and she let us sample some of their tapas — truly impressive Mac N Cheese and Tokyo Tar Tar Nachos. Liza tells us that the DJ that night was supposed to be good so we stayed until 8:30 to sample the music. We ended up having dinner and we got greeted by the chef. I sampled the Pompano and well, it was alright. Not as good as I expected it to be. Kaama boasts a really fine interior design. The furniture and the lighting is perfect. I got to meet Redanica, the owner(did I get that right?) she is very pleasant and professional. She’s also very accommodating. I like the way the dining area is right by the couch and other tables but not too close to potetial hammered guests come the time. They have 2 bars, one right by the dance floor and another at the back, near the bathroom. Again, their seating and cubicles are arranged so creatively, you can either feel out in the open if you prefer or be in a semi-secluded private cubicle. There’s a couch near by the dance floor and a nice, contemporary seating furniture right the same area. Oh how I wish their dance floor was bigger! 4⁄5 times I was here, the music was great. Last Friday, the DJ played mostly techno music but when I walked up to him and requested some Today’s Hits, he was glad to oblige. Good job! Then he went back to techno… my crush left the scene because of that! LOL More often than not, when my friends and I head over to Kaama, we all mostly end up buzzed or hammered. One time, we got a huge bill and paid BUT the next day, my friend(she was a designated driver that night) checks our receipt of the bill and they charged us with drinks and food that we never ordered. The next time we hung out, we were taking notes on her iPhone about what we ordered so we can correct the bill right away when it happened. We kinda felt like they took advantage of the fact that we were mostly unable to process finely. Don’t forget Happy Hour! It’s a great place to be during Happy Hour! Drinks are cheap and so are their tapas! 4 – 7 pm ! Parking is just a bitch though! I hope the management does something to make the parking not an issue for most. On a weekend, by 10 pm, there’d be plenty of cars lining up traffic by Winchester Blvd. because the parking is tight despite valet. I don’t know where the valet attendants bring these cars… Oh well… I still like Kaama a lot.

Came here for another happy hour. Friday is more busier than Wednesday. The lounge area was all taken/reserved and the tables were almost all taken. There was only like 2 tables. We went for the«Dishcrawl Special» of 7 dishes for $ 40(portions are small but this tasting menu left us pretty full): Egg roll– this was a lil spicy but delicious. Mac n cheese– yummy rigatoni pasta pieces, but the mac n cheese was bland. Tokyo tar nacho– yummy ahi tuna with the yummy creamy wasabi dipping sauce/ Chili & cornbread– the beef tenderloin was very tender indeed but the cornbread was bland and soggy. Dessert trio– kettle corn was the best dessert out of the 3. Whopper malt ball and caramel apple was good too. We had 3 drinks each, but we had prepaid $ 20 online coupon for $ 40. It was a nice deal on Facebook. Foods and drinks came on a good timing. Service was good as usual. Our waitress was friendly. She let us use the $ 40 on the Dishcrawl Special even though she wasn’t suppose to. I really like the romantic and dim atmosphere. Cheap drinks and really delicious foods will always bring me back.

4.5 stars The BF’s cousin was having a birthday get together here and I wasn’t in the mood to go out. I like to spend Fridays napping until 12am and then waking up to watch a Netflix movie with the BF. Nonetheless, I agreed to go and we got there a little early for dinner with just us. The food really cheered me up, because it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the dishcrawl special for $ 40. It included: Tokyo Tar Nachos, Shrimp Eggroll, Mac n Cheese, Chile Con Carne, and a dessert trio. I absolutely love the concept of their dishes. They are not what they seem and it’s a play off the classic dishes. For example, the shrimp egg rolls were not egg rolls, but a fried wonton chip stuffed with bacon and edamame, topped with pear jicama slaw, grilled shrimp, and a sweet sauce. The flavors were very, very good. There was a little saucer dish with two halves of an actual egg roll. The Mac n Cheese was rigatoni stuffed with chorizo on top of garlic crostini and topped with melted cheese. And of course, there was a tiny bowl of traditional mac n cheese on the side. Flavors were very bold as they should be for a finger food/tapas. The chile con carne was the most disappointing dish but still OK. There were strips of medium beef with moist cornbread chunks mixed with the traditional flavors of chili, but without the beans. The Tokyo Tar Nachos consisted of ahi tuna, mango, ginger, wasabi aioli, and more on top of a wonton chip. This was my favorite — we even ordered another one of these. The dessert trio consisted of kettle corn, candy apple, and another that I can’t remember the name of. The kettle corn was a malt ball, kind of like a ball of ice cream covered in cereal. It was good, and that was probably my favorite. The rest weren’t very memorable and way too sweet. All this for $ 40! So worth it! The waitress asked if we wanted to order two dishcrawl specials. It wouldn’t have been possible for me to finish one on my own. Cocktails were about $ 10. I tried the root beer float(disgusting — tasted just like cough syrup), ginger peach tea(very light flavors) and an AMF after my dinner and during the birthday get-together. The drinks weren’t very strong. Parking is valet only, so we parked across the street in the lot at Santana Row. Atmosphere/music was good, waitresses were friendly, the bartender put on a show for us, food was excellent, and we all had a great time.

Love the ambiance at this cute little spot across the street from Santana Row. Brad C. and I decided to have drinks here one night. It was our first night out after adopting our baby boy Chunk…(he’s our poodle puppy). We came earlier, and I believe there is only Valet parking when you pull into the spot. Bartender: Nice guy. Got good jokes. Makes good drinks. Menu: Didn’t order any food, but I hear that have a great Happy Hour menu. Drink Menu was pretty unique as well. Seating: Comfortable loungy couches and booths all around. Pillows were kinda tacky, but not horrible enough for me to dock a star. Only reason why I’m not giving this spot 5 Stars… didn’t WOW me as much as other regular lounges that I’ve been to and continued to go to back in SoCal. Crowd is much more… my style back home. :P

My first time here was during their Happy Hour. We came here about 2 weeks after their grand opening so the place itself was not as crowded as it can be. Happy Hour ends at 7pm. There are a good variety of happy hour cocktails to choose from and BEWARE! There are only about 4 dishes that are counted in their happy hour prices! Tricky since they just give you the menu with all their other dishes! Location: The blacksheep bar/lounge of Santana Row. Off the row that is! It is across the street from where all of the crowd is and right in between Khanh’s restaurant and Century theatres. Parking: Valet. If you want free parking, park at the movie theatres or at Santana row across the street. Their lot is way too small! Décor: Classy and not cheap looking. Black, red and silver themed couches/chairs/tables/and décor. I like the booths in the back which gives it a very private atmosphere. The lounge area is awesome with their funky looking shapes! It looks like a wavy theme. Optic fiber lighting is used! Service: Bartenders are especially friendly here! You get to know them. They laugh with you. Make suggestions for you! Service is awesome here! Drinks: I remember trying the fire and ice type of drink. It was spicy but at the same time delicious. I think I have gotten into the whole spicy drink thing. It comes in a martini glass but without the handle on ice. Another drink involved the pomegranate cubed ice in the drink. I forget the names… I need to remember next time! In general, pretty good! The bartender was taking up shots with one of our friends since we were there for awhile. Friendly indeed! Food: –PB& J: My least favorite. This involved scallops. It had a mixture of jelly and cream to it. It just didn’t quite work for me. I was able to eat it but ehhhhh. –Mac ‘n Cheese: Not your average mac and cheese in a bowl to enjoy with a spoon. This came in filled rigatonis on a garlic toasted croûton bits. Sauce was covered. This was actually pretty good, especially with the croûton bit. –Chicken Noodle Soup: Alright, you ACTUALLY get a mini can filled of low sodium Campbell’s chicken noodle soup on the side. At the same time, you get shredded pieces of chicken on bread with caramelized onions. Interesting indeed. — Buffalo Wings: I am expecting wings! But this came out in chopped up chicken slices. This was probably the best one out of the other appetizers I got to try. Not bad of a joint to pass by if everywhere else is packed. They do open later then other places in Santana Row. I am not sure if it gets packed due to the late hours. I can’t imagine a dance floor though even though they clear out the bar area. Not the ideal place to club/lounge. I haven’t QUITE had that urge to come back yet though. Maybe if another event occurs here, I will be more incentive to come!

my friend and i were on our way to have dinner at santana row yesterday. while driving down winchester, we saw Kaama and decided to eat there instead of on the row since both of us had not dined there yet. first off, i love the décor of the restaurant. very stylish, eye appealing, loungey décor. i love the couches and the booth seats. the service is also friendly here, the staff is attentive. as for the food, i loved the concept. i love that they take original dishes, use it as the name, yet with a complete twist. at first when i looked at the menu, i was like these dishes seem so simple. then after receiving our first dish, i was like, cool, the dish doesnt come how you expect it to be. definitely expect the unexpected, and allow your tastebuds to be all over the place. we ordered the following: — Tokyo Tar Nacho — Mac n Cheese — Buffalo Chicken Wing — Bloody Mary Caprese Salad — Chicken Noodle Soup Our favorites(in order) were the Tokyo Tar Nacho, Mac N Cheese, and Chicken Noodle Soup. The Tokyo Tar Nacho is perfect — delicious ahi tuna blended with the perfect ingredients. the amount of stuff on the chips is also perfect — not too little and not too overwhelming. The Mac N Cheese is also delicious — chorizo and cheesy — yum! i love that for this dish they have it accompanied with original mac n cheese, cause i love regular mac n cheese. Chicken Noodle Soup — i really liked the texture of the shredded chicken, and also how it was accompanied with a can of original chicken noodle soup. as far as the Buffalo Chicken Wings and Caprese Salad, they were both okay. Didn’t like the blue cheese taste in the ‘wings’ and the Caprese Salad’s tomatoes were overwhelming everything else in the dish. overall, i loved Kaama. i love the very unique take on fusion dishes. definitely a fun atmosphere for dates or a girls dinner or cocktails. ill definitely come back, i wanna take my best friend here!

************* REVIEW162 **************** After a week under the weather with asthma & a cold, my mom said, let’s go to Nordstrom to check out their handbag sales. With that said, I felt slightly better to drag my butt out of bed. Then after 1 hour of shopping therapy. I got my appetite back & so took mom to Kaama. Since this was her first time. She got no expectation of what the food will be but met the chef at the last party, he seems super cool & creative. Kaama is a chic, swanky lounge & it can get really pack at later time on the weekend. We sat down & stared the simple 1 page menu with 15 items, & we didn’t know which one supposed to be appetizer, savory course, or entrée. Our server than explained to us the ‘Happy Hour $ 4 dishes”, I was intrigued by that, but my mom was a bit disappointed with the items on the menu. Nothing that excited her, so the server went on to tell us don’t judge the menu, but to try it with open-mined. So we did: Egg Roll Shrimp $ 4 Happy Hour — 4 pieces Look nothing like egg roll, the grilled shrimp is on top of the sweet, crunchy Asian Pear-Jicama Slaw & the Bacon Won Ton with Orange Sweet n’ Sour Sauce & Edamame — Refreshing taste & my mom enjoyed this dish the most of all. Chicken Noodle Soup $ 4 — 5 generous pieces Don’t expect it’s in a cut of soup. But a Sweet Potato-Chive Biscuit, topped with Shredded Chicken, Hearts of Palm & Caramelized Onion Hash — this dish is sweet, comfort with sauce rather than any broth! — Pigs in a Blanket $ 4 Happy Hour — 4 pieces Now this one likes an egg roll, House-made Chicken Sausage, Smoked Gouda, Granny Smith Apple & Fresh Anaheim chili wrapped in Rice Paper; Cranberry-Chipotle Mustard — The sauce has a bit of spice, rich, but it’s a bit oily. — Buffalo Chicken Wing $ 4 — 5 generous pieces No wings with bone here! Instead Roasted Chicken, Celery, Carrot & Blue Cheese Tempura Roll, house-made Buttermilk Ranch Dressing — a bit too rich for my mom & my taste. — Pot Pie $ 3.5 each oyster This dish reminded me of Rockefeller style — Baked Oyster on the Half Shell filled with Creamy Potato, Onion & Tasso Ham topped Puff Pastry — The puff pastry is really nice & the oyster is well marinated. — Gobi Curry $ 9 — full order Naan bread, Green Curry Coconut Sauce, Tart-Curried Vegetables, Mango & Mint — generous portion, enough to feed 3 people! A good dish to share & also vegetarian. — Strawberry Lollipop Lamb Chop $ 17 3 thin cut lamb chop with Strawberry & Pistachio crusted, Parsnip Mash, Mint Pesto & Balsamic Reduction — It’s a really surprising taste of all the dishes we had, refreshing with the strawberry & the pistachio crusted really nice to pair with the lamb chop. Wish the lamb chop wasn’t well done! Our server was wonderful & did her job. However, we waited for a while before the Nann dish & the Lamb Chop to come out. Awesome Happy Hour menu. Great cocktail list. Limited wine list.

For the record, I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. Or even 4. I want to say what a fantastic follow-up time I had here especially after having such a grand time at the Unilocal event. But for some reason, I couldn’t bring myself to squeeze out that extra star for this well-raved local joint. Don’t get me wrong, I love the atmosphere, I love the interior decoration and some of the food’s not bad. I love that this place is not like Fuel, it has a lot more amenities and the new management really did a great job with the place. I have to say the alcoholic drinks, at least the ones I’ve had, were good and reasonably priced for drinks at a higher end lounge or a place that Kaama looked like it could be. However, I feel a little bit caught up in the hype. This place is not really all that it is raved to be. First, this is not a good place for dinner by any means. It is a lounge and that is what they should call it. Calling it a restaurant gives you the sense that you can come here and get full, but their prices are deceiving since although for $ 10 you get a great appetizer, it will take about 4 — 5 of those to actually fill you up. For most people this is just a tad weird since they don’t have any entrees. Basically all of their menu consists of creative fusion based appetizers that come out in little«sharable» bits. I also feel like they try to turn this into a night club at night which means if you are having dinner, you’re going to be hoarse and hard of hearing by the end because the music is quite loud. They have a great atmosphere for this type of night club gig but again it has to be somewhat more on the divided side … perhaps stop serving dinner at some point to allow patrons to get out of the place if they don’t want to be faced with loud music. Finally, I realized that this place is new but they definitely start lagging when you order more«appetizers» or if you have a big party or if it is later on at night. Our food took about an hour to come, we were very hungry by that time and … again, since these are not entrees, they were not filling. We left more or less $ 50 short and empty stomached. I was disappointed that the staff did not try to do anything to enhance our experience even after the food was delayed and orders were perhaps lost. They have a small kitchen but there has to be a better way to keep track of these things. Overall, it’s not a bad place to meet someone for a drink or two. As for dinner or beyond, I’m not too sure this fits.

San Jose is in dire need of hip lounges. Places where you can eat delicious food, listen to good music and sip on lovely cocktails– with OUT having to jump around and drive everywhere. Look no further! Kaama is my new favorite. The food is perfect for someone like me. I don’t need to stuff myself when I’m out. The small bites are creative, super yummy and are paired perfectly with the cocktails on the menu. If you feel festive and in the mood, walk over to the dance floor and burn off your meal! The DJ plays cool beats. My Reco: Nachos, Mac n Cheese, Spaghetti and meat balls, Lamb Loli pops and DESSERT! Cocktail: Poolside.

**Support the Mom and Pop Joints, especially those with a cool chef** Chef Matt Mermod, you make me enjoy Kaama. I love innovative flavors, and it’s always exciting to see a chef reinvent the wheel when it comes to food, right? The menu is simple, and almost basic. You look at the names and wonder what in Jesus’ name is going on here… Here are the highlights: Nachos: spicy goat cheese, truffled mushrooms, and pico de gallo. I appreciated the kick and combination of flavors. Strawberry Lollipop: A crusted lamb chop with a delicious pesto sauce. Spaghetti and Meatballs: pork free and I loved it! I love the setting and when I say swank… I mean swank. Don’t be scared by the cougars that like to pounce on the dance floors. Don’t be discouraged by older crowd trying to find a place close to the ROW, Kaama has it all. You can be part of the scene or tucked away in a corner. Only request I have… a little more hearty plates. I would love to see what Chef Matt can do… Drinks are delicious, and I can’t rave enough about the courteous staff. In case you are wondering, I am a paying customer. I was not bribed and I dropped some dollars for a meal. I truly hope Kaama succeeds. You may wonder, like I did, if there is hope for a place off the Row next to a piano store… and there sure is. Support Kaama.

4 stars for the food 1.5−2 stars for the service… Came here with some folks after the Elite Event last week to try some of the other fairs that Kaama has to offer. The décor and ambiance is what other places want to accomplish. Most spots in downtown San Jose try and be swanky etc but it all ends up looking like a cheap hot mess. this place has gorgeous décor, super comfy lounge sofas, and I like the open feel. The music is at the right level and play some stuff that is chill to listen to while having some cocktails with friends. The service is horrible…(at least it was today) The waitress forgot several of our orders(both food and drink) and although I appreciate the apologies having it happen continuously thorough out the time is unacceptable. maybe our group caught her on a bad day. or perhaps there was some communication mishap but good lord… Highlights 1. Mac and Cheese by far my favorite 2. Curry naan flatbread dealio. awesome layer of flavors 3. spaghetti and meatball spin off 4. fish and chips spin off 5. very complex flavor profiles and nice spins on the classics 6. Nachos– very earthy(mushrooms) The meh… chicken wings… never got to our table after multiple requests there were several drink mix ups… it was hard to flag the female server down although the table service guys were very tentative in clearing tables and providing water the gal at our table had a very off night… If it had been my first time coming to Kaama due to the poor service and multiple mix ups I would have probably not come back unless a friend was having an event… but considering the fabulousness of last week… I am a returner but a cautious one… The owner did try and clear things up by giving us dessert on the house. With the watermelon dessert if you don’t like savory desserts might be off putting. It has a date compote, sea salt, granny smith apple, watermelon and aged balsamic vinegar… for me it was good… again props for multiple flavor levels… I appreciate the fact he came around multiple times and offered up advice on drinks etc.

BESTNEWLOUNGEANDRESTAURANTINSANJOSE!!! Love the wicked cool décor: black vinyl booths, modern lighting everywhere, awesome DJ music, and best of all. . FAB innovative FOOD! Chef Matt Mermod and Chef Megan have taken LOUNGEFOOD to a whole new level! These were the comfort food morsels(with a twist): (1) Nachos =(MYFAVORITE) — I LOVE the idea of nachos with wild mushrooms and truffles, so this was a true winner. (2) Mac ‘n’ Cheese = Wow, that stuffed rigatoni was DELICIOUS! Full of flavors! (3) Shrimp Cocktail = nother wonderment of flavors. The fruits, lime, and the prawns together. . my taste buds were loving it. (4) PB& J = I have to be honest, my least favorite. Good scallops should stand on its own. It tasted weird to me with the peanut butter. (5) Strawberry Lollipop = Wow, this was so good, too. The lamb was cooked perfectly and again, the infusion of the flavors of strawberry and pistachio did not go unnotice. Went well together. (6) Spaghetti and Meatballs = This was good. Close second to the nachos as described above. Can’t believe it’s a vegetarian dish. The desserts were creative and yummy, too. I liked the apples, the chocolate, and the watermelon cleansers! And don’t forget the drinks! OMG, creative cocktail menu! One of the best vodka martinis around! :) Kaama reminds me of an intimate supper club where people take care of you, your friends all have a great time, and the music is good. .. . I can’t wait to return!

The old Fuel Restaurant and Lounge has made way for Kaama which is a similar concept but a much more adventurous menu. The modern interpretations of the classic comfort food inspirations are often set side by side on their plates. Things tried: — PB& J — Panko crusted scallops on top of a Thai style peanut sauce topped with a blackberry jelly –Mac & Cheese — Pasta wrapped chorizo with cheese sauce, over toast –Chili Con Carne — Strips of beef over a cornbread chunk with a currant sauce(I think) –Strawberry Lollipop — Nut encrusted lamb chop lollipops with a strawberry jelly The food was all solid though the temperature wasn’t completely hot across the board. For example the traditional mac&cheese counterpart had a hot ramekin but the pasta itself wasn’t. The odd flavor profile pairings like the strawberry lamb were very intriguing and I hope Chef Matt keeps experimenting in those regards as that would make me return to keep trying the food. Speaking of reasons to return, all the servers were pretty attractive and that’s pretty rare in Silicon Valley. Not only that pretty much every one of them pitched in to ask how we were doing and helped bring the entrees. Service was solid all around and even Chef Matt came by to say hi. I think the place has a lot of potential and it was noted to us that they are starting out slow to get their flow. So there many things to look forward to as the concept develops.
