One time I went there for breakfast and the lady behind the counter insisted I had a jelly packet on my tray and I didn’t. She refused to give me one. It was very unnerving to have one’s sense of reality questioned by an idiot like that. So I complained to corporate. The next time she saw me she looked at me horrified. Anyway the place has closed now. C’est la vie. I hope everyone from there has moved onto better things now.

I would’ve rated this a 1 but the employees here were flexible and patient and tended to each customers’ transaction. They seemed to be severely understaffed. Back to this restaurant, they’re missing a drive-thru. Definitely would need to add that. I personally thought it was sketchy once I went inside and turned around. Mostly homeless people. The food I ordered was fresh so I can’t complain because that’s the main reason I came here. To get a better rating, this McDonalds definitely need to redo their restaurant and add more employees.

this is probably the worst McDonald’s I’d ever been to in my life. I first-hand witnessed racism. I saw a lady go in there(homeless) ask for a second cup of coffee and was told to «GETOUT» by the cashier and upper management. now granted I don’t know what took place before I got there, but the way they treated her & looked at her was plain disturbing. this was Saturday afternoon about 3:08pm. and yes it is in a city like area where homless people would be there primary source of income. non the less how they look at people and treat them is just plain wrong. so what I witnessed is a gentleman walking that was a little«easy on the eyes» ask for 3 refills(now the guy asked the manager for a FREE cup) now they were probably in the same English or math class together over at State. then within the first five minutes I saw a homeless lady I actually witnessed ask for a refill for a couple coffee when I saw the same lady purchase it and she was told no and«get the hell out» by the Asian Manager… I looked around in disbelief and I asked somebody or they told me this happens«all the time» that’s what prompted me to make a YouTube video showing how they treat instead of handing some homeless dude a penny or a dollar show your support by not going to this McDonald’s

Ah, where do I start, well the McDonald’s at 90 E. San Carlos Street. I visited there roughly one and a half weeks ago but did not want to write this review until now, for some reason or another, my favorite guy was not there on this particular Wednesday, don’t know if he quit or was just off that day but the woman serving me had no smile on her face, did not greet me other than to nod her head so I know she was open. After I ordered the desert for my grandson, a mc griddle breakfast sandwich, and an oatmeal, still no smile, or eye contact. After what seemed forever, She put the bag down on the counter and again nodded for me to get my stuff, usually, there is always something missing(such as, please put extra apples and raisins on the side, so what I get is no raisin in the oatmeal which comes with it in the first place and or one of the sides missing). After I checked my bag, I noticed that I had an egg white sandwich and there was no desert. When I tried to get her attention, she appeared to roll her eyes and said what, when I explained that the sandwich was wrong, she argued with for a while saying over and over again that she could have sworn that I got is what I ordered. She was totally not going to be wrong this particular Wednesday. As I proceeded to tell her that I did not feel that she wanted my money or was customer friendly, she stated that I was to get more change back as she had to change the sandwich. I stuck my hand out to get my change and she pushed it on the counter. I then asked for the 1800 customer service number and she told me to go get it on line. Wow. They have a sign asking us to forgive the fact that all the homeless people handout there but, they always say hello and smile(funny) right. Anyway, if you are Black, stay away, I’ve been in San Jose for over 35 years, and they have never had anyone of color there. I believe it’s time for a change. Some of the food might be good but everything else is ugly including it’s oldness and most of the front counter help. God bless America and God bless McDonald’s.

A wonderful place if you love listening to RnB while eating amongst all the racial intimidation. Thanks for the service.

These guys are awesome after I left I realized I didn’t have my phone and someone turned it in to them! George and his crew are amazing! They asked me a billion questions about it to make sure it was mine which reassured me they weren’t gonna give it to someone random. Thanks you guys!

Love McDonalds but they can’t do anything about the people that come there. Foods great but the homeless and the drunks around the area kill it

I’ve never really had a problem with this McDonald’s until today. Maybe it’s just the breakfast crew but I came here to grab breakfast on my way to work and it took me half an hour to get an egg white sausage mcmuffin. The cashier had no idea what I was talking about when ordered and finally after she understood I waited another 20 mins for my order of one sandwich and they ended up giving me an order of just eggs. I should have checked my order before I walked out, but anyways I ended up going back to realize the manager gave me someone else’s order. Instead of getting the other person a new order, she just gave the eggs that were in my bag to her. Gross! Anyways I finally got my order, but it was not worth all this trouble for a sausage mcmuffin

On September 21st between 4 – 4:30 pm a person with a bike entered the lobby and when the person was told that he could not enter with a bike the person took two swings at one of the employees. My only issue with this McDonalds is that it appears as if the corporation or the owner does not care for the safety of his patrons or even his employees. God forbid if someone were to get hurt due to the shady characters that are around there but if someone did it could mean a lawsuit because he did not provide security to his patrons and more importantly his employees. The staff is nice and try to serve as fast as they can even though they seem limited or short staffed. Food is good or just what you would expect from a McDonalds. Like I said before I hope something is done because they could lose a lot of patrons if they think it is unsafe to eat there.

I wasn’t really feeling like stuffing myself with the Psycho Donuts I bought for me and my siblings, so I supplemented my dinner with a Big Mac here. It made me want to throw up a little, actually. I had to eat the thing in pieces to stomach the nausea each bite brought(it was that bad!) Eventually I just gave up and threw the buns, and then the whole thing away. The fries redeemed the whole thing if only a little. On a side note I made a transient buddy outside this location who I gave a Psycho donut too; and on other occasions I have seen this McD’s host a bunch of strange characters — one guy who claimed somebody in the parking lot was stuck in the trunk… So it has this energy that just gives the whole place a bad funk. Plenty of SJSU students go here though, perhaps to sort out their munchie fix — but really? With Pizza My Heart and Iguana’s next door? You can do better than a McDonald’s that attracts the worse kind of people and the worst kind of food poisoning.

Hey, it’s a freakin’ McDonald’s! If you like McDonald’s like I like McDonald’s then it’s 3 Stars(0 Stars if you hate fast food anyway) so come here by all means if it’s the closest location to you. But there’s no «Their Big Macs taste better at this location or the fries are crunchier» type of thing going on in here. Unless their managers are not buying their frozen food from McDonald’s Corp like all the other McDonald’s do, then stop it, please. Big Macs are supposed to consistently tastes the same at all McDonald’s(not counting overseas, you’re on your own there!). Just like their Coke here taste like all other Cokes. That’s what makes them McDonald’s. My only heads up to you is that this IS a downtown location. So just like most other big city downtown fast food joints, do expect less fortunate homeless people dining next you, just trying to get by. So if that sort of urban reality doesn’t sit well with you, then go to a McDonald’s out in the suburbs. But I guarantee the Big Macs will tastes the same. Unless of course you pulled up to a Carl’s or Jack in the box by mistake. In which case it won’t taste like a Big Mac but will still taste like fast food anyway.

Probably one of the better McDonald’s I’ve been in around this area. The staff are all very nice, I’m a regular and come in a lot for lunch from work a block or so away, and by a lot I mean 3+ times a week. They can be very accommodating when you are having trouble with something you ordered. For example, I ordered a chicken club a long while back, when I went to work I had, stupidly, left my burger box open, knocked it over, and the club splattered onto the ground. They replaced it and I got to enjoy my chicken club at long last with no difficulty. As I mentioned, the people working here are all very nice. I think people get a bad rap here because no one is polite to them. If you’ve been rude to a fast-food worker before, then you have no reason to complain about bad service. You are the problem. Not them. If anything, the only problem I have with going here is all the rude, noisy, and inconsiderate customers who come in and make a fuss. The homeless don’t help either, but they are a symptom of another problem.

Too bad I waited till I got home to open the bag. Ordered a Big Mac with no pickles, instead I received a quarter pounder with no lettuce inside of a Big Mac box… What? I checked my receipt, unfortunately it said Big Mac No Pickle. Guess I won’t be coming here again.

A lot more seating than the last McD that I visited in Saratoga. It was practically empty too. There were a lot of cops outside. I wouldn’t be surprised that there are a lot of disturbances here. My burger was ready faster than other McD that I have visited and looked much sloppier. I will stick to McD in nicer areas that have better operations.

You can look at this particular McDonalds in two ways… Either as a dirty homeless filled fast food joint… Or as a cheap saving grace for poor college students. Homeless people, druggies, and shady characters roam around this area around McDonalds and they pop in from time to time. The eating area here isn’t the cleanest and they tuck away the soda machines behind the counter. For students however, its about a 3 minute walk off campus and its CHEAP. When I was unemployed and short on cash and stuck at school all day, I could rely on a couple double cheeseburgers to keep me full throughout my school day for a couple dollars. And I know I’m not the only student who has been in that position. It’s not cheap to eat on campus either! Again, appreciate it for what it is! *My review doesn’t reflect my thoughts on health and quality of fast food!*

Your typical McDonald’s minus the self-serve soda and clean restrooms. If this place wasn’t packed with the less fortunate members of society, I’d give it another star

Oh LAWD! It’s McDonalds, what else can I say? The quality at this location is very decent I must say. Especially the fries. I have not been disappointed at the quality of fries here. Reason I am giving this a 4* is because there are ALOT of homeless people that go here and pester you. You never know, it can be dangerous. On the bright side, there are a lot of other restaurants and other things to do around here. Plus…its close to campus.

I have no idea why but I always run into or witness some … interesting characters at this McDonalds. I never come here alone and hope I never have to do that in the future … it just creeps me out sometimes. We usually just come here to grab something to go when we got the munchies or a large sweet tea. Service is decent sometimes, so I guess that’s what the star is for but it’s definitely not the cleanest. Hopefully they’ll renovate this place in the future like all the other McDonalds to look like a café. It would be nice since students could come there and study over coffee, tea or whatever else they advertise for their McCafe offerings. But I kind of doubt that is going to happen anytime soon. Le sigh.

Even though this McDonalds contains a number of foul-smelling vagrants, mean-mugging delinquents, and standing army of pan-handlers, I find myself coming back when I’m near campus. When you want McDonald’s junk food, nothing else suffices. Now that they’ve lowered their soft drinks to $ 0.99, I usually get a McChicken and a small coke as a snack. They also have free wifi here, but hell, you don’t want to linger long in this area. Get your food and go.

Only at this McDonald’s you’ll be waiting over 15 minutes for 2 apple pies… This location is in downtown not far from SJSU. Why this Mickey D’s does not have a drive thru is beyond me. I could understand it if it was attached to an adjacent building, but this McDonald’s is entirely stand alone. How can it be fast food without a drive thru??? Since there’s no drive thru, inside service was very slow. As mentioned, I waited 15 minutes for two apple pies and during my wait I noticed that they messed up a few of the other customer’s orders. Much of the parking lot is fenced off. I guess that is a good thing as it reduces some of the vandalism and car break-ins. The homeless people hang out around this area along with some drug addicts. Be careful of your surroundings.
