Mi Rancho Taqueria looks like an ex-Taco Bell. patrons mostly amigos/amigas. no young mainstreamers seen ala taco bell. menu: standard mex eatery menu, slightty pricey eats: al pastor burrito(6.99) regular= medium sized –came with green and spicy red sauce –lots of pinto beans with chewy, spicy pork –onions and spiciness main flavoring. 3.5 stars frijoles refritos: –food came out in 5ish mnutes. –numbers called out in spanish. hear«cinco» my number –lengua tacos looked ample. not sure if they are also priced 1.89 ala regular tacos 3 stars for substandard chewy pork.

They are sooooooo slow here. It took a half hour to prepare our food so we went up to ask for chips and salsa to hold us over while we waited. The salsa tasted funny and the chips were overbearingly salty, and I like salty. The main courses were tasty, and you could tell they were made from scratch. Heck, with the time it took they must have been killing the chicken and hand-picking the eggs in the back. The prices were very good, as they should be with the waiting period. They are also not especially friendly here and the place is a mess with flies all over. My dad said to give a three-star, because he said the food is quality and the portions are plentiful. I think that is generous, but I’ll grant his wishes this time around.

Breakfast burritos are amazing! Salsa is also really good. They are small but just the right size.

This place makes me happy. Everything I’ve tried so far is yummy and they make tortillas fresh with your meal when you order!

This place is convenient and the staff is super nice! The burritos are a perfect prize at $ 1.79. The options are ham, chorizo, beans, potato, chile verde, etc. The burritos are not huge, but again the price is $ 1.79 and not $ 5. The food is fresh and you can’t beat the price. The also have flavored sodas and fountain drinks. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed!

Before jumping on the light rail to the Stadium Series game, my buddy & I wanted some Mexican food. Stopped by the nearby bank & saw this place looming nearby. We unfortunately gave it a try. I ordered a super tostada with carnitas that was hard & dry. I opted for a bean & cheese burrito that was smaller than a kids size meal option. No flavor whatsoever. My buddy ordered two carnitas tacos that were only flavorful with the salsa Verde on them. Ended up at Taco Bell down on the corner to get the hunger satisfied.

Minus two stars because the breakfast burritos are child size(literally the size of the palm of my hand –the taco we ordered was bigger than the burritos) and our order did not come with chips. Besides that, the flavor of the food(ham breakfast burrito, bacon breakfast burrito and carne asada super taco) was very good. I would go back but would probably get two or three of the breakfast burritos!

Im all for small businesses but if you have outrageous prices for a «taco» at least put some meat in it. I got a tortilla with some meat.

The hubby brought me back to his old stomping grounds, claiming this place has some pretty awesome Mexican food. I was skeptical at first, saying things like, «why do we have to drive so far?» and«I’m hungry!» and«I really need to pee, can we just go to McDonald’s?» Anyway, I must say I’m glad I held my hunger and bladder. I ordered a lengua taco and carne asada burrito. The lengua was good(saying«beef tongue» sounds gross, but for those of you who don’t speak Spanish, like me, then saying lengua makes it sound more appetizing). My regular taco came with a nice scoop of meat and a douse of green salsa, which had a pretty good kick. Bonus: The taco came with a big, juicy wedge of lime. Nothing more disappointing than squeezing a dry wedge of lime. Yuck. But the star of the meal was definitely the carne asada burrito. It was DELICIOUS! Whatever they cooked the meat in was absolutely tasty. They also make their own tortillas, and you can totally tell the difference in quality. Cash only unless your total is more than $ 10. Breakfast burritos and bean and cheese burritos are cheap(1.59) but small. It was the perfect size for my toddler! He loved the bean and cheese burrito. Prices are overall very reasonable here for the quality of food. Minus one star because they didn’t have a bathroom(they probably had one that was accessible outside… no thanks, I’ll take my chances at a nearby bush). I’ll definitely be willing to come back when I’m in the area!

There are different taquerias in SJ where I go to eat my fav foods… but I usually come here for one thing only… NACHOS! Soooo delicious! What makes them the best is their chips! Thick and crunchy! .(not like the stale store bought round chips at La Vic’s) all of the ingredients just elevate it even more… Refried beans, melted cheese, Carne Asada, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños! The nachos are big enough to share between 2 maybe 3 people depending on how hungry you are… but you can also be a fatty and eat them by yourself… they’re THAT good! ;) Helpful hint: ask for salsa! They have both red and green in bottles but you need to ask for it for them to give it to you… I usually go for the red one!

Not the best Mexican food I’ve had. Decided to try it after reading Unilocal reviews which were very misleading. We had the gorditas and menudo. Menudo was pretty decent but nothing too special. The gorditas were not good. The masa was good and hand made. The bad part was the carne asada and beans, these had a weird flavor that gave a weird after taste. Who ever says this place is authentic hasn’t tried other good mexican places. Very disappointing and badly spent $ 23. Would not recommend to anyone and will not be coming back.

best chicken enchiladas in the area. I do not like that occasionally they microwave their food and reheat for customers but the food taste pretty authentic. Will be back.

among the cheapest places around to eat, it’s been around forever. CASHONLY! it reminds me of a taco truck, in terms of the hand-lettered, misspelled signs, and general cleanliness, which is not great. the have the typical mexican stuff, tortas, burritos, enchiladas, etc. they also have menudo, birria(goat), lengua(tongue), a seafood menu and a «specials» menu with the cheapest stuff and some combos. you can buy rice or beans or salsa at $ 1.50 per 8 oz(1 cup). tacos are $ 1.69, $ 3.29 for super tacos. ceviche tostada, $ 2.50. veggie burritos are $ 3. veggie tortas $ 4.99, meat tortas $ 6.59. there are 6 different breakfast burritos, only $ 1.59 each. they include scrambled eggs plus various meats like ground beef, chorizo, ham, as well as nopales(cactus) and potatoes. bean and cheese burritos are $ 1.59, bean rice and cheese burritos $ 1.99. all of these burritos, including breakfast ones, are pretty small. the combo plates are not that cheap, or the seafood. for example, a birria plate is $ 12. fresh 20 oz cups of oj and carrot juice sat on the counter in a bath of ice water, only $ 3. one downside, besides the cash only aspect, is that i got no salsa with my rice and burritos. they had a bowl on the counter full of oil steeped in dry peppers, with little plastic serve-yourself cups next to it. i asked for a side of salsa, the lady plopped a squeeze tube of watery green salsa on the counter. i demurred, it smelled too spicy for me. i would’ve liked some salsa fresca, which i saw on their food tray, but i wasn’t gonna push it, they didn’t seem the friendliest type.
