Fun new place that opened in the Cupertino village, interesting choice amidst all the Asian restaurants! It’s basically a build-your-own-pizza joint, like Pieology. It’s been a while since I’ve last visited a Pieology so my memory is hazy, but I think this place has more topping choices. Also, tried their lactose-free cheese(vegan) and it wasn’t bad. All their ingredients look pretty fresh and well prepared, and the resulting pie tasted pretty good with only stuff I want. :) The wait wasn’t too bad, there was another couple of groups before us, and since everyone orders their own it took some time. Also I only saw 2 people working both the order line and cashier, so this can definitely get long. Hopefully they staff it more during peak hours.

Went there the other night and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza had s great crust and was not too thin that the toppings would fall off! Had chicken, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, bacon, roasted garlic and 3 dollops of marinara sauce, which I will leave off next time. The Caesar salad was great, too! The people were friendly and explained how the ordering worked; I just wouldn’t want to get stuck in line with so many toppings to choose from! Will return!

I kind of love the idea of making my own pizza. My parents have always disliked pizza because of the excess cheese and oil but here you get to choose how much of everything and anything you want! We got extra veggies(spinach, argula, mushrooms, green peppers, they got it!) and less cheese and it was awesome. Our pizza was overflowing and amazing. I take off one star for these things(keep in mind I’ve been to Blaze Pizza and Pieology) 1. The crust isn’t as crispy/fresh tasting(even though it’s straight out of the oven) as Blaze Pizza. I’m not sure exactly how describe it but it was different. 2. While overall the staff was very friendly and helpful, there was one girl who gave me attitude and just didn’t seem happy to be working. She seemed exasperated from the start and maybe she was having a bad day but hey, what did I ever do but ask for extra spinach and argula? 3. The slices werent very well cut and are cut in 4 instead of 8. I think this is because the crust is super thin so if they cut it into 8, it might be hard to hold everything on it. But it’s definitely nice to watch what you’re eating if you have smaller slices. Also the plastic knives they had weren’t very strong so they were basically uselsss for cutting the pizza. I will mention I appreciate the various choices of base sauces and end toppings that you can choose from. This is also a better place to go to if you want to share your pizza because they have real plates that they put the pizza on and smaller ones for sharing(major plus).

I went to MOD on Friday during lunch time and it was packed! It took us 10 – 15 mins to order but once we ordered the food came out very quickly. I ordered a Lucy Sunshine and garlic strips to share. Everything was delicious and the service was great as always. I will be going back soon!

I feel like MOD pizza is just an inferior wannabe to Pieology. The pizza is much smaller than Pieology, the ingredients are just not as fresh and the crust is kind of terrible. They also just don’t cook the pizza well I guess. Overall the dough is thin and like cardboard. There is no flavor, and the ingredients just are not as fresh so they’re not as good. I would definitely pick Pieology over Mod any day because its much larger and tastier so its like 2 or 3x meals instead of one.

If you’re craving your slice of pizza pie that’s amore, then come down to mods pizza. Very affordable, and tastes as close to home as possible. And it’s customizable

I am glad to have such fabulous pizza restaurant near my house! A mini pizza only costs $ 4.87(mod pizza$ 7.87) and you can choose whatever you want of the pizza’s toppings. I ordered a mini pizza with tomatoes, pineapples, chicken, mild sausage, and red sauce. Although I waited for a while to order, but it was worth for waiting! The service is good! You don’t feel too stuffy when you finish the pizza because the crust is thin.

Pizza my way! I love this! I like to choose from the options that they have but then add more things to it. The lines don’t usually get that long and if they are, it’s usually fast. Their blackberry lemonade is bomb! It’s kinda tart so I tend to stick extra ice in my cup. Random irk: — The staff is friendly and cool but they get SO loud and obnoxious when their friends come in. I mean I get it. They’re in high school. Having a job is cool, but I’m just trying to enjoy my pizza without getting a headache because the room is echoing from your excitement of seeing your friend that you saw earlier that day.

I wanted to give you more stars, MOD. However, customer service goes a very long way in my book and unfortunately lack of a pleasant customer service experience lead to three stars. Food: Plethora of toppings! From an abundance of protein choices, a good amount of cheeses(no one else has asiago). In comparison to Pieology and Blaze, they offer different pizza sizes and SALADS. I think out of all the build your own pizza places, they offer the most options to create your pizza in general. The combinations are endless at MOD. What I loved best was the thin crust, less calories/carbs, but still extremely enjoyable. Just a word of advice, because the crust is thinner, try not to go overboard with the toppings… unless you like your pizza soaked. Ambiance: I went in on the wrong day. There was a huge church group/birthday party shindig going on, so we waited for about 15 minutes in line. It was my first time, but I’d assume that’s abnormal. The place is large, very spacious and open with pub/bistro high seating, booths, etc… enough to seat large groups and solo diners. Parking Lot: I’ll add this section, because this lot is busy. Next to TJ’s, you know it’s going to be busy at all times. I advise you to park closer to Sprouts, where there is more parking availability. Customer Service: Here we go. Three individuals building our pizzas that Sunday afternoon. I will mention again, that it was a busy day, however that is no excuse to be rude and snappy with customers. The first person was a guy, didn’t catch his name, but he was perfect. Extremely patient and nice, as it was our first time, so we took a bit to decide on the sauce. The next two individuals(both females), were extremely rude. My boyfriend is terrible at customizing his meals, so he was rather slow at deciding and every time he chose a topping, the woman replied with«are you done» or «what else do you want.» Her tone was disgusting and I keep replying it in my head, it was just awful. The last person was equally rude, «anything else before I put it in the oven,» basically telling us to stop asking for toppings. We are customers, not your coworkers or friends. I don’t care how busy or empty that place is, customer service goes a long way. Overall: In general, this place and Blaze are equal in terms of flavor and ability to personalize your pizza. The big difference for me is the customer service which is absent here. I don’t care if this place is cheaper or offers salads, I will stick to Blaze, because at least I know I’ll be treated with respect their.

Short Story: MOD vs. Blaze vs. Pieology? Winner is Blaze! Long Story: The time has come for fast and gourmet pizza… step aside Papa Johns… here comes MOD! I came here on a late Friday dinner and the place was almost empty. I got the double decker pizza(2 doughs) for an additional $ 2. This place has the same setup as Blaze and Pieology. You pay a set price and you get to create your own pizza. The toppings are pretty standard though I like the sauces at Blaze more(they got the spicy red sauce). After you pick out the ingredients, you wait about 10 minutes as they fire cook your pizza. The prices are pretty comparable to the other competitors and I would say the ambiance and décor are a bit nicer than the Fremont Blaze and Pieology. My friends enjoyed their pizza too and they also liked the competitors a bit more. It’s still a solid pizza place and I would go back the next time I’m in the area. Verdict: I’ll be back when I can

First time here, and it was a really good experience. I fumbled through my order for two custom pizzas, because I hadn’t thought to sort my order by crust/sauce/cheese, then meats, then veggies(and because I was going back and forth between the two pizzas). The staff members were patient, friendly, and helpful. My order on its way to the furnace, I breathed a sigh of relief and went to help my friend get water for our table.(Note that this is when someone who’s NOT completely clueless would go to the cashier and pay.) Water in hand, I sat down with the group. As names were called out for the orders preceding mine, I got up and saw a customer at the cashier. It finally clicked that I’d never paid, so I sheepishly explained to the cashier and told him what I’d ordered. Instead of scolding me, he asked if it was my first time at Mod Pizza. When I confirmed, he said he’d only charge me for one pizza instead of two(wow!), and he offered me a free fountain drink too.* So yeah… even though it was MY screw-up, Mod Pizza went the extra mile to ensure it was a great dining experience. *: your mileage may vary. The pizza was delicious(even though I don’t prefer thin-crust). Very reasonably priced, too(about $ 7 for a good-size personal pizza). The breadsticks seem like a solid value too, if you need an add-on for your order. Food: 4.5 stars Value: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Overall: 4.5 stars

The Chipotle of pizzas! Customize your own fresh salads and thin-crust pizzas for one price and unlimited number of toppings. The process is fairly simple, get in line — choose a pizza size or salad, and start loading it up. They have Boylan bottled sodas here(all use real cane sugar in their formula) and their in house lemonades are also good add-ons for your meal. Try the marionberry lemonade! One of my top tips is to make sure not too add too many wet toppings(fresh tomatoes, for instance) to avoid a soggy pizza. My favorite customized pizza reads like an ingredient list for bruschetta — basil, tomatoes, roasted garlic, white sauce, fresh garlic, and grilled chicken. Sometimes you can add bacon for good measure. MOD Pizza is high on value — a good portion of food for your dollar, and this location is fairly large and good for groups. The back of the restaurant has several larger tables behind the soda fountains.

This place is much better than I expected! After a few visits I really like it. However, I don’t really think the taste of their pizza is like other pizzas that I am used to. It’s more like a warmed sandwich with any toppings you want made to look like a pizza! So, it does not satisfy my urge for pizza like«Slice of New York» does, but it is a really good tasting meal. If you load up with a lot of items it is quite filling and the price is reasonable. I’d highly recommend.

More toppings and thinner crust. Pizzas don’t come out as fast as Blaze but it tastes better. I think I like Pieology’s crust better with the garlic but you can tell that MOD came first with the quality of their pizzas. I like that they have plates that you can use and red pepper flakes and cheese at every table. So far MOD Pizza is my go to custom pizza place but really, they are all the same to me.

We finally gave them a second try and the experience was definitely better than the first time. We came closer to closing time, but they were so accommodating and even encouraged us to eat there. Our pizza was done right, and we didn’t have to wait long because there wasn’t any wait. We still took our pizza to go because we didn’t want to keep them there waiting for us to finish.(We guys know you have families to go home to :)) We’ll come back for sure!

My husband tried this place out and couldn’t wait to have me try it. Had a mod sized pizza and had one slice leftover. Great concept of putting whatever you like on a pizza. Comes out pretty fast too! Love that they also make their own iced teas — they were delicious and worth paying the drink price for. Takes card, parking can be hit or miss depending on the Trader Joe traffic next door.

The new hip thin crust pizza shop in town. I’m going to cut to the chase, I was not very impressed and would rather go to Pieology or Blaze. Particularly because: 1. Wtf, the wait is like at least half an hour if you go anytime around dinner. 8pm on a Saturday? Yep, still expect to stand in line starving while the people making the pizzas and putting on toppings take their sweet time on each order. I know this is custom pizza but they sure do take their time. People are hungry and waiting, please move faster. 2. Their sausages tasted unusual. Maybe it’s their signature taste, I don’t know. I found it very strange… very herby… much more parsley than I’m used to. Unpalatablely so. 3. Given that it’s a custom pizza place you can’t really blame them for just ok-tasting pizza since you chose the toppings yourself. But I just was not blown away. The sausage really ruined it for me. The positive things are: 1. Fresh lemonade with different flavors(berry or regular). Mix ‘n match, go crazy, get as many refills as you want. 2. Their dessert pie was tasty(while warm) but severely overpriced for what it is… a tiny thin pizza crust with jam spread on top, a couple squirts of cream cheese frosting, and graham cracker crumbs sprinkled on top. Hardly a pie at all, actually. If you’re looking for cracker-thin crust, and super complex orders with weird sausage and long wait times, then this is your spot. Personally, I don’t love it. Honestly this is pretty much at a 2.5 if it wasn’t for the novelty of it all.

This is a great place to grab a personal size customized pizza. Got all my toppings that I want. The staff is friendly. The cashier is a little awkward. But hey. Who isn’t a little awkward. But it isn’t the funny type of awkward. It’s just awkward awkward. Wow this review went south… Anyway. The pizza is good. Good the mega size. I don’t think it is worth it. THEREFORE I will be sticking to the MOD size pizza. Overall: will return for more pizza.

I love MOD Pizza. I think I’ve been here about five times already, and I was happy with my order each time. I used to go to Pieology, but MOD is quite a bit closer. Here are some things that I like about MOD Pizza: 1) You get to make your own customized pizza. It can’t get any better than that. It’s great for picky eaters like myself. 2) They have a good variety of fresh toppings. I love that they have roasted garlic and even garbanzo beans! 3) The pizza crust comes out nice and crispy! Yum! 4) The pizza comes out in about ten minutes! 5) Their homemade ice teas are delicious as well. Overall, this is one of my of my favorite pizza places and I recommend it to just about anyone.
