I forgot to update this place. It reopened, and it was crazy busy for a while… until all the new quan’s opened. Now it’s dead again. Last month we came here for my bf’s bday and we were the only party there. Pretty lame. He wanted to go elsewhere, but I said why, when we get to have the karaōke system all to ourselves? 2 bottles of Hennessey, several rounds of beer, couple nhau dishes, and several renditions of old school songs later, we stumbled out breeze $ 600 poorer. Some of us made it home, some of us sprawled out on the pavement of their parking lot, and some of us don’t remember shit from that night. Good times! It’s what you make of it I guess. It doesn’t hurt that they have a full bar and bottle service.

Before they closed down to open their Phở restaurant, it was 2 stars, but now it really sucks. The portions of food are TINY! Everything sucks now. I hate it. Would not go back unless I’m not paying for it(which is what I did last week with my brother) hahhaa I think they need to revamp the whole place, change the cooks and change all the waitresses.

Okay so I want to come here because I am in search of great bo tai chanh(vietnamese style carpaccio). I like«do an nhau» because it’s light and most of it is meat! Yum! But I’m afraid… even though I’m Vietnamese. afraid of whore-ishly short skirted Vietnamese girls who will be bitchy and not serve me in a timely manner . But damnit I want some bo tai chanh! Can anyone else recommend a good place? Does this place do take out? Yes, I know it will defeat the purpose. But I just want my bo tai chanh. not to see uncessary beef curtains. Will update once I venture out into San Jose. So it’s just A-Ok 3 stars for now.

The food is good(excellent cube beef steak) and the service is great! Your glass is never half empty here! After 9pm, it’s a Vietnamese Drinking establishment with a full bar. Karaōke Rooms are available also.

Pretty interesting place, my first time in a Vietnamese«sports bar»… not quite a sports bar. more of a karaōke hang out. eating and drinking the whole night. The waitresses are quite hot, and i loved how they kept pouring beer in my mug to keep it full, That’s what i call service… the food it self is mediocre, but the beef carpaccio is quite tasty. I think i would come back again!

This is the worlds best sports bar… IF… you do not like watching sports, but like having mediocre Vietnamese food served to you by Vietnamese girls that speak about 4 words of English. On the plus side, they are wearing very little! They call this a sports bar, but I was here on a Monday night… and they did not have Monday night football on! The food is OK. The service is better if you are Vietnamese and you are buying the girls drinks… They have about 6 girls working. When I was there 2 were very cute, the rest were OK… Like the food! So if you like having OK food served to you by girls wearing very little, this is the place for you! Granted you have to be able to get past the feeling that these girls would do anything to escape from this life… oh yea, and the beer prices are pretty good.

i used to love going to these, hanging out with the boys, during football season… and i dont mind looking at girls in short skirts either — comon’… if it works for american culture and HOOTERS, i think it works with vietnamese culture as well. monterey breeze is targeted to the younger crowds though… and well — booze, food and sports — yum! unfortunately, this place is average to me because they no longer serve as EXOTIC of a menu as they did once before… sure they still have raw veal, and frog legs… but they dont have my favorite — «thiec canh»… and yes, i am a girl that liked to eat that stuff… its like a jello’d raw duck/pork blood if i remember correctly with basil, lemon, peper and peanuts… mmmm… soo good. but alas, no more. so i must find me a new place to frequent. good for a younger crowd. id strongly suggest you not come here if a little older and set in your ways… you might come up on a conflict… and do be careful. there is ALWAYS a police officer parked across the street waiting to haul you over right when you pull out of the parking lot. do try and brush up on your rights as an individual if frequenting a place like this is a habit… just in case you get nailed for a DUI.

This is a place to go if you want mediocre food served by Vietnamese girls wearing short skirts. I know this is the point where most guys’ ears perk up(I know my husband’s did) but I should also continue that the girls won’t really talk or look interested in you unless you are Vietnamese. There were a few white guys there watching a game and they got totally ignored by the waitresses, who were all huddled around one Vietnamese guy at the counter. I’m Vietnamese, but I’m also a girl, and I think because they knew I wasn’t here for them, I got super slow service as well. They actually looked pretty put off that they had to take the time to walk over and take my order. The food(I got the com thit nuong — bbq pork on rice) was ok — nothing to write home about. Personally, if I was a guy just trying to get some eye candy, I’d head over to the Valley Fair mall and park myself in front of the Forever 21. You’d get the same results.

Good place for you and the homies to go drink and eat. Notice I said drink first, eat second. This place calls itself a Sports Bar/Restuarant(which it is) but its more along the lines of a hang out, and to be honest, you probably wanna go with a few Asian friends(hence the three stars). If you like to «nhau»(Vietnamese for drink and eat) then this place is perfect. TV’s, music, and cute waitresses make it a well rounded«quan nhau.» I can eat the«bo tai chanh»(raw beef steak in lemon) all night with a cold heineken. There’s even crocodile in the menu if you feel game.
