Hate this store. No one behind the counter gives a shit about helping anyone. Where else can I get metric fastners?

Business today is difficult with the rising costs and lower profits, so it is nice that when I walk into a company and asked the sales rep(Mark Loera) about a 15 cent bolt that I need to finish a project and he takes his time to explain what they have. Mark had what I needed and If you need some straight advice and good service here is the place. I was the founder of Family RV located in Morgan Hill and know what good service is all about. Thanks Mark for the help and great service, Alan Cezar.

This place has no bedside manners went there for a standard bolt just to get some help or advice .The smoker guy kinda had a unfriendly attitude. Definitely will order my bolts on the Internet. People need to treat people better for there business.

I needed to replace a tiny screw that was holding together an important piece of wiring. I brought one of the screws to my local hardware store, but discovered they didn’t stock screws that small. The hardware store recommended Mr. Metric. Upon arrival to Mr. Metric, what you’ll see is a large warehouse in an industrial part of Northeast San Jose. Very little about the building is welcoming except a small sign on the front saying ‘Will Call’ is to the left. This is not primarily a retail store — At least not for small volume customers like me. Mr. Metric is a low overhead, no-nonsense, get-the-job-done kind of place. I don’t usually find places like this to put customer service first, but Mr. Metric surprised me there. The employee working the front counter greeted another customer and me promptly. When it was my turn, I found the employee to be professional and helpful. He took the time to measure the screw I had brought, told me the size(2mm x 8mm), and checked their inventory. I wanted a few extra just in case, so he sold me 5 screws for a whopping 33 cents. If I find that I have another need for a screw too unusual for the local hardware store, I will not hesitate to give Mr. Metric my business. I recommend you do the same. I suggest measuring the screw ahead of time and calling in an order just for the sake of efficiency. Although even without doing that, the folks at Mr. Metric helped me out. And the entire transaction took less time than it did to write this review.

i stood in there lobby for 30 min while i watched 7 guys walking around and no one had 30 seconds to walk over and help me. but as soon as one came and sat down i asked him if he could help me find some nuts that were stripped out, he looked at them and said he dosent know and he cant help me … it was a waste of my time it took him less then 30 seconds to tell me he cant help me. it should not have taken 30 minutes

I needed 5 small matching bolts to reinforce my iron patio table set. I couldn’t find even a close match at hardware stores(OSH, Home Depot, Lowe’s) but Mr Metric had a match. I know they generally deal in larger volume sales but they were professional and answered my questions. Good experience and got a small part I couldn’t find anywhere else.

Came here a long time ago looking for bolts with a buddy of mine. The guy seemed busy and it seemed like we didn’t exist for a while plus the entrance was hard to find but that doesn’t really matter to me because once we were acknowledged the service was great. This guy knows every bolt and screw in that shop. If you need metric bolts or anything of that type you know how hard it is to find at a hardware store here in California polluted by SAE hardware. It’s extremely useful if you have an older car that requires metric hardware. They have everything

I have been trying to find a few stainless steel metric screws for underwater photo equipment for quite a while. None of the local big hw stores carries it, and I could only find online sources for ordering in 100 quantity. I just found out Mr. Metric carries the part I need and what is surprising is that ithey don’t charge more for small quantity(same price for 1 to 100 pieces). I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for buying very small quantity. Its shipping charge is also reasonable. In my case I did a will-call pickup as it is only a few miles from my office. So if you know what you need, just look up on Mr Metric’s web page, order the parts and have them ship to you or do local pickup if you are in the south bay area. I couldn’t be happier and now my underwater camera setup will be ready for next trip.

Showed up at Will Call late(after it closed) but Scott helped us anyway. Super friendly and knowledgable. Helped figure out a weird screw replacement. Great place, would recommend.

Our children’s trampoline was missing a metric bolt. Spare parts are offered on the companies website. and I easily located the part I needed. They sold two bolts for $ 1.40. but then they wanted $ 12 for shipping. Called the Customer Service, to see if they really needed $ 12 to ship 2 bolts from Utah to California. The nice lady offered to give me a 20%(28 cent) discount on the bolts. but insisted that they had to ship in a UPS box, which cost $ 12.(Must be a lovely box.) At this point, I told her that I was amazed that the company was not more concerned about the SAFETY of their products, used by my four children, and I was prepared to speak publicly about their lack of customer service. I then asked if she could at least provide the specifications of the part, so that I might try to obtain one locally. So she told me it was 50 mm M5 bolt, that I could probably find elsewhere. Started searching online. Found firms in China that sold them in lots of 5,000 or more. Limited selection in the major hardware stores. Since it was a metric size, there were dealers overseas(UK, Ireland, Australia). but not seeing anything in the US. and then I found … MRMETRIC! Located several possible matches on the website. and thought I would give them a call to try and figure out the best choice. That is when I discovered that they are right here in San Jose … about 3 miles from my home. Spoke to Mike on the phone, and asked him if it was possible for me to come into his location, bring the parts that needed the bolt, and see if we could fit it. He told me that was fine. Found the place, and Mike was super helpful. He brought out several pieces. and I tried them. I did note that there was a sign up in the place. CASHMIN. $ 10 and CREDMIN $ 20. figured I would need to buy extras or something. When I told Mike I just needed the one bolt, he gave me an extra, and told me not to worry about it. I figured that the least I could do was offer a strong positive review, for a gentleman and a firm that went above and beyond to assist me. especially after particularly distasteful episode with the manufacturer. Folks — if you need Metric sized fasteners, I urge you to make Mr. Metric your FIRST stop. They have a fantastic selection, and truly excellent customer service. I highly recommend them.

It looks like they have a good selection, but after waiting 10 minutes for their *one* guy to help me(you can’t go look for parts yourself) I gave up. Save yourself the trip and just call them.

Was looking for a shoulder bolt to replace the one I had missing and they did look for it but turned out it was gonna be special order. You need to know exactly what kind of bolt you need before you talk to these guys. They rather deal with whole sale accounts that give bigger deals and hence more profit. To make a buck off of you is nothing compared to the specialized stuff they in bulk so there goes your customer service. Would I come back here, sure if I knew exactly what I needed.

I needed an obscure metric bolt to finish off a project I’ve been working on. A phone call to Mr. Metric confirmed they should have the part I need and that they would be open until 5:00. I arrived at 4:15 and they had closed for the day. I drove almost an hour to get there.

GETWACKYHARDWAREHERE! I had 52 handles that needed to be mounted for my remodel project, and(of course) the bolts that came with the handles were too short. All of the standard(OSH, Ace, Home Depot) hardware sources had nowhere near the quantities I required, some knowledgeable HD worker mentioned this place. After some iPhone research + nav + and an actual phone call –because the google listing was inaccurate– I found the place. In about 15 min, they came up with a neatly packaged pile of bolts… and for cheaper than the same quantity(assuming I could actually get that many) @ the major retailers. Turns out, that I managed to get 104 bolts OFTHEWRONGSIZE. So I returned, and lacking a receipt and certainly short a couple of of the bolts I had originally purchased, they gave me the right bolts with only a couple of questions asked. The 1 sales guy at the sales desk in their warehouse was very helpful and competent as well as actually available. If you can’t find a nut, bolt, washer,(or many other small metallic useful things) this is probably your only bet… But is not a bad experience or anything, just a journey to get there.
