came here on break while out in San Jose… Phở was fairly decent and the broth was clearer than my other phở intakes… Service was okay and it was not busy… it was phở-licious!

This review is based on my experience at the phở bac so 1. My experience was so awful and rude, I feel it is still relevant… Worst dining experience ever! I found a piece of plastic in my chowfun and told the manager. She then told me I had nothing to worry about because the plastic was probably clean. She never apologized and had a bad attitude when I asked her for a new plate. She then threw the new plate of food at me while she was talking on her cell phone and walked away. It turned out they had re-cooked the last plate I returned and just added a little more noodles. I was disgusted! I told her to take the plate back and wanted my money back. She then replied with attitude and said: «That’s fine, you haven’t paid for your meal yet anyway.’ In addition, they spilled my friends food all over her lap. Fortunately, she didn’t order hot phở or her lap would have been burned and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Later, one of the customers asked a simple question: Do you charge for your tea? The same manager replied back defensively, «we’ve been charging 50 cents a person for tea for the last 3 years.» In my book, if you have to be defensive about everything, you’ve obviously got something to hide. Stay away from this place. Almost forgot to mention: my friend ordered the hu tieu mi only to discover that they put phở broth in it instead. That’s a «no-no» in Vietnamese cuisine. Not all broth is made equally. This place is truly unforgettable… the way food poisoning is unforgettable.

Been here plenty of times. Everytime I come here seems as though my service gets better and better. They also have great entertainment!

My mom is hooked on this place. It’s the fresh phở noodles and pounded thin beef that she loves. I personally like the fresh phở noodles myself and the broth has a distinct taste of ginger to it which makes me happy. It’s pretty good and standard. It’s nothing crazy but it’s different than your usual phở you’ve had if you never had fresh phở noodles and the bac style of phở(northern viet).

The place was fairly empty today with just a handful of patrons. What first caught my eyes was the minute u walk through the doors, a murky fish tank housed a few fish. The good, the fish were still alive, the bad — for how long? Despite that, the place was very clean with two flat screens showing the olympics. I ordered the phở which came out about 5 – 7 minutes later and a fresh squeezed oj. I asked for the rare, thinly sliced beef to be on the side(often overcooks in the broth if not requested). The broth was decent, didn’t have the beef flavor and aroma of a good phở broth. We also had some spring rolls which was a pretty generous serving for an appetizer. I’d come back and try their other dishes aside from phở.

I called in sick today, and was craving some phở to help me feel a little better. Found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. It was the closest place to me AND accepted credit cards, which was good cuz I don’t have any cash on me and I really didn’t want to go to the bank. I called in my order and the guy said it would be ready in 5 minutes. So I rolled outta bed, threw on a hoodie and sunglasses(my eyes are real sensitive to light right now) and was back at my house in 5 minutes. Overall the phở was OK(it wasn’t the«best phở I’ve ever had in my life» like another reviewer commented, though). I only was given 3 slices of tai, kinda shady, but whatever. Decent phở and will do in a pinch. Close to my house and looked pretty clean inside. Can’t comment much on the service since my order was to-go.

I give this place a solid 4. The phở was fairly decent. Broth was somewhat clear when he brought it out. I came later on in the day on a sunday and it was getting empty. Service was good, well should say good for a Viet restaurant. I think part of it was that it was almost empty and he was walking around watching the game. But even still, both people who waited on me were quite friendly, so it was a bit shocking. However, what I really liked was that they have free WIFI for those patrons with a laptop or wifi enabled device. Some of you have no use for this. But I think its great for me. I regularly visit Panera Bread on Coleman for a meal and to work on papers etc and what I really miss now are the Tapioca Express near the Monterey Park area. Students, wifi and boba… At any rate, this gives me an additional location I can go when I need to work on the computer and stuff my face at the same time… Of course, I have no clue how long they will let you sit before giving stink eye about taking wifi and not continuing to purchase or eat at Phở Bac So 2. I guess I will have to find out.
