It ain’t fancy, but the waiter Tony there is always super nice and i always get him. I swear he is the only one there. I come here every time i go to san jose to get my bun bo hue fix because i live in san francisco and nothing tops it so far. I ask for hella shit from lime, jalapenos and even shrimp paste and i never get the stank eye, but instead they bring out a generous portion of it. Love them. They even have outdoor seating for a hot day and they sell lotto and scratchers… Which i won twice from. I won $ 50 once and then $ 100. Got a free meal and a little extra cash! I was in a win win situation. Never fails my bun bo hue is always on hit!!! Im a once a month regular at least cause its YUM!!!

No Banhmis??? WHAT? Ordered shrimp and pork spring rolls to start. The shrimp wasn’t cleaned out since some pieces still had poop in them. I moved on to their phở with didferent types of beef cuts. The broth was oily and tasted awful. To make matter worse my bowl had an overwhelming amount of tripe making it unappealing. The teriyaki chicken plate was also mediocre. The chicken was dry and had very little sauce drizzled over it. They shouldn’t call it teriyaki chicken. The nail in he coffin was while sitting in the restaurant and observing the surroundings I saw a lot of trash under the nooths and tables. Does anyone clean? When it came time to pay I felt like I was standing in a liquor store because of all the candy and snacks for sale. Very tacky! Not coming back!

Went there for the first time and never gonna go back there again. I should have listened to my guts when I see the three stars. I ordered the pork shop plate, the pork was burned, stale, rough and plain. Let just say that it’s sort of like the pork has been sitting outside for awhile. When first walked in, it had weird smell. I am sorry for people who like this place but I had better vietnamese food. I don’t recommend this place.

They say everyone in SJ has their favorite phở restaurant. This is mine. Low prices, hearty portions, classic flavors, and quick service. Best of all they accept mobile payments such as Samsung Pay so you can just tap your phone at the counter! Much better compared to other cash-only places

Like so many other phở joints out there, Phở Bang isn’t all that sexy. Well, unless you like it cheap, dirty, and somewhat questionable(holla???). Not so much in terms of cleanliness(seems decent enough), but definitely in regards to their bathroom. Located«out back» behind the restaurant, through a gate that you need to be buzzed through? You know, maybe I don’t need to pee that badly after all… Even beyond the bathroom, the restaurant itself is a little quirky. The best way I can describe it would be «scattered»; one of the first things we saw when we walked in was a bunch of boxes and clutter. The shelves of snacks were kind of random too, but the more important thing was that the menu was pretty decent. Not only can you have your traditional phở, but there are several noodle soup varieties/specialties, along with the typical array of rice dishes, starters, and entrees. While I was tempted to go with my usual order(beef phở with rare steak and tendon), I opted to go for(#41) HUTIEUMITHAPCAM(Combination with Combination Rice and Egg Noodle Soup) since it sounded pretty tasty(combination everything!). While the mix of goodies was pretty decent, the noodles were kind of meh and the soup left me wanting. As much as I appreciated that it wasn’t super heavy or oily, it was really light on flavor. Not exactly watered down, but it felt thin and in need of some body/punch. Given the context of our situation(driving back from LA), Phở Bang was perfect for what we were looking for — a hot and quick bowl of phở, relatively cheap(my order was $ 8.95), right off 101, open relatively late, and takes credit cards. Otherwise, had the situation been different, I don’t think I ever would have tried this place. Certainly, it’s not a place I’ll ever look to coming back to again, especially with so many alternatives nearby. If I ever have to though, I’ll make sure to pee somewhere else beforehand…

The number 1 is the best in my opinion. The flavor is delicious and this phở is one of my favorites in San Jose. I have tried other items on the menu and they are ok but the number 1 is the way to go.

I really shouldn’t like this place as much as I do but this place always leaves me satisfied. Maybe its the fish tanks set nervously close to power strips or the generous amounts of msg, not really sure. But every time I come here I leave happy with the service and the food.

The phở here is okay. I used to be a total fan of their phở bo vien, but later on… I don’t like it as much anymore. I think that I would rather eat at Phở Y now. But I guess everyone is different.

This is the worst phở ga(chicken phở) that I’ve eaten ever! They give you beef soup with thin slices of chicken. I also ordered rice plate. The cha tasted like sand! I would never come back here. If they don’t have phở ga then they shouldn’t include it on the menu.

They take credit cards! Also closed on Tuesdays now, I’ve been coming here for quite some time because the quality and quantity is decent. Service is quick and there’s tons of parking. You can also eat outside but it is really rare that I see people do. Not many Phở places sells lottery tickets, but they do here. Also, if you order hot tea, they do charge per tea pot.

Wasnt pleased to order buon rieu.(It was either phở hoa or here because my bf and I were craving for asian soup dishes.) My boun rieu bowl was all wrong. The soup was bland. The meat was horribly made.(Tofu fishyy meat? Yuck.) I didnt even finish it. Waste of my money. My boyfriend order rare steak phở with extra beef balls.(2 $ for a whole 2 beef ball cut in half.) So expensive and the soup is bland too! Never going here again.

I have no idea why I haven’t wrote a review of this place long ago! I have been coming here with my family for years now, and now I bring my husband and children here and they absolutely love this place. OK yeah i know, so this place needs some remodeling ASAP, but I think the food totally justifies for it. My three favorite plates here are the #1. /phở which has a very flavorful broth #56. /noodle bowl with salad and veggies(I think is the one with the beef) and last but not least the wonton plate with yellow noodles/forgot the # for that one; Oh and Actually the chicken teriaki plate is very good too. Most of the plates I have tried are good but this are my favorite. The service can be very slow at points it’s just a hit or miss. I find myself getting up and walking towards the front at times to request extra plates or water, however that doesn’t bother me. Overall it’s a good spot to checkout when you’re in the mood for some Vietnamese food.

Decent phở with quite a variety of other vietnamese dishes. I ended up with the combination noodle/combination wonton noodle soup. Really well done and hit the spot. There was so much food(aka noodles), I had enough for a second meal. And surprisingly, the noodles held up really well on day 2, not overly soggy! The iced coffee was decent too. Not the best, but it hit the spot. I wouldn’t go out of my way for phở bang, but I’d come back if I was in the area.

I drove by this restaurant plenty of times before I actually gave it a try. People might judge this place by the way it looks from the outside, but once you get past the location, their service is on point, the food is delicious, and the portions are great! I usually get the«phở gao»(chicken) plenty of chicken and there are times when I can barely finish the whole thing. They are generous with the chicken which I love. There’s also snacks to choose from to feed your sweeth tooth after you’ve stuffed yourself.

Great portions with the price to match. I love when Phở restaurants are honest with their prices. On top of that they provide the best service I experienced in awhile. Good Job!

I have been coming here since I was a child. The place is hard to get to and hard to get out due to the traffic and back drivers blocking intersections. The restaurant is filled with fish tanks which is cool but they could be nicer. They sell candy and scratches here inside the restaurant which is really different. The place looks alright clean but the bathrooms are outside which is really weird. The portion of food was really good for the price. I ordered the phở tai and the meats in the soup was really small so that was a disappointment but the soup and meat were still good. I would come here again to eat but it is out of the way from where I live.
