This place uses to be a big bakery off Story Road, but they closed down. However, they’re up and running inside the food court near in the Lion Plaza. Everything I stop by here, I get their rice rolls with grilled meat($ 5) that comes with a sauce that compliments the rolls really well. I also like their goi with shrimp and pig ears($ 6). I think. Sounds kinds gross with the pig ears, but I think it adds great texture to the salad. Their sauce that comes with it is also really tasty. They offer a lot of baked goodies and drinks that I shall try next time. I haven’t tried the baguettes from this new location, but I remember that they were really good to use for sandwiches at home. P. S. The mid-aged lady that works here needs an attitude adjustment, cause everyone you shut her down for hustling you to buy more stuff, she gets all bitchy. The other girl that I’ve dealt with was much nicer and understanding.

BBQ pork baguette: 3 for $ 10. That’s a real deal. The hot baguettes are just absolutely delicious.

It’s been so long since I’ve had L’Amour Des Baguettes! I was so sad when they closed their original shop on Story Road years ago. Every now and then I would do a quick Unilocal search to see if they had reopened anywhere. The only thing I could find were false postings that they had reopened somewhere in San Jose on their old Unilocal business page. After all these years I still hadn’t found a suitable replacement. I’m so happy I could finally stop my search. Their new shop in Lion Plaza is definitely smaller, but the quality and taste of their breads and desserts are even better than I remember! I love that my go to place to pick up mini baguettes and pâté is back, and I don’t have to settle for subpar alternatives. I will definitely be back on a regular basis!

Poked my head over at L’Amour Des Baguettes after placing my order next door at Quan Hue the other day. The kids behind the counter welcomed me with a sample of some sort which I passed on. The mom behind the counter suggested I purchase a big box of rice noodles with some grilled meat and vegetables on the side for $ 5…then suggested that I purchase some fresh rolls which she suggested to be $ 30 until her son suggested $ 3.(The sign behind the counter said $ 4) The fresh rolls were okay. They didn’t have any vermicelli inside them like Huong Lan. Cash only.
