Came here for lunch to try the ca la vong and was pleasantly surprised on how well it tasted. Compared to thien long I thought it was just as good or the same quality as their’s. Fish was grilled perfectly, and all the vegetables were fresh. The staff was very nice and helpful in taking care of any of our needs. Based on the past reviews it seems there really taking the feedback seriously so don’t let the 3 star overall score deter you from trying this place out. Price was also very reasonable, about 40 dollars for 3 people including soda and beer. If you’re in grand century and want to try ca la vong give this place a shot.

The lady owner is very pleasant to deal with. The food is pretty good and at reasonable prices.

Food is so so. Service really sucks. Waiter suppose to hand recipet to customer’s table instead of asking customers go to the counter. No wonder this restaurant only got 3 stars.

Service staff ignored our order after trying to get their attention four five times. Didn’t even bother when we walked out. Won’t be coming back.

This is my go to phở spot in San Jose. It’s located in Grand Century mall. I’ve been coming here for a while now, I love the broth & meat here, always very flavorful and fresh! Fast and great customer service. I definitely recommend this place!

Food isn’t worth the wait. Literally no customers but they take the longest time to prepare the food.

My friend and I came here for dinner only because the rice plate restaurant across was closed. I ordered phở and she ordered a rice plate. My phở was water-downed and bland. It was probably made out of MSG because when i went home that night, nothing cold control my thirst and I couldn’t stop drinking beverages. my friend didn’t enjoy her rice plate at all. it was cooked very effortless and it didn’t have much flavoring. There was also a fly that would not go away. Don’t think I’ll come back again since there are many other options in the mall

The worst Vietnamese restaurant I have been to… EVER! My friend got the com tam bi suon(rice combo pork plate) and everything was cold and overlooked. This is clearly old food they’re serving us. My two other friends ordered phở and bun bo hue and they were so bland. The phở tasted like chicken stock, and the bun Bo hue was also cold. WTF? Service wasn’t even good. Don’t come here

This review is just for the bun rieu because it is the only thing that I had from this restaurant. It is probably the tastiest bun rieu that I have ever had. The broth is really hearty and flavorful. I like the periwinkle which gave the broth a special touch. The waitress was super sweet, really nice and helpful. You can just tell that she was helping out in the family establishment. There are so many Vietnamese soup places in San Jose but this one really hits the spot!

I cannot even express how upset I was with this place. I came into this place to try their food because the food court at Grand Century mall was completely packed. I ordered a plate of banh cuon and while eating I noticed two pieces of hair on my plate. The length of the hair was far too short to by my own so I quickly called for the owner’s attention. They tried to offer me a new plate but I already lost my appetite. As a restaurant, the owner should have paid more attention to their employees and at least provided them some hair caps. I’m definitely not coming back.

This review is strictly for the delicious bun rieu. It came out fast and hot. It tastes really authentic(like mom’s). I would come back for this every time I crave it. the only reason I withheld one star is because they could have given more meat.

Phở and customer service here was the second worst I’ve had. My husband ordered #14 which was some sort of seafood phở that had pork liver and heart. We asked why those two weren’t in the phở when they brought it over. They said that they were out of pork liver and hearts. Okaaay, well then why weren’t we informed of that when we were ordering? We asked for other meat substitutions instead, or more of the calamari or pork meatballs at least to make up for it and they just keep saying that they’re out of liver and hearts. 1) they’re cheap as hell, or 2) they don’t know any English. His bowl had about 4 meatballs and 5 pieces of calamari. That was it. He didn’t even get a discount for the fail phở. He’s not a complainer so he sucked it up and paid full price. It wasn’t my bowl so if he was ultimately fine with it then whatever. But we agreed never to go to that place ever again. Oh I ordered #2. It was edible… If it were the only phở place in the state. And I’m 98% sure that they use some other shitty wannabe sriracha because it was dark red and the broth tasted worse once I added in the condiments.

Food is not good… this is even when I am starving. Service is extremely slow, and they barely have customers. We waited over 20+ mins for our food, and the table next to us even waited for a while to get a menu. Then another customer came in with his family trying to sit at a table by the entrance. While the staff saw him removing the dirty dishes to another table, they never came back to help him clean up the table. Service staff doesn’t seem too happy working here. This was our second choice since the place we wanted was extremely packed. Never coming back.

Must get the Fried catfish. It’s crispy and soft inside. Loved the sides of lettuce and herbs it comes with! It’s inside the grand century mall and they can’t quite speak English. I’m a little concern about the health code… But the fried cod was really good! Phở was mediocre at best. Phở is good for people looking to carboload!

Plate came with two tiny prawns. Meals were cold. Over priced and staff was not friendly. Lady at the register barely spoke to us. No one asked how our meal was. If you’re in the area I suggest going to Thai Lovers instead.
