You’re better off driving down san carlos st. To get better food at the 2or3 places there. I’ve given this place many chances and it always fails me. Ive experienced missing items in my order, spoiled smelling noodles(I live 5 mins away, should be spoiled), or cant order because they dont have ingredients for the meal. I mean chicken phở is basic and twice they’ve told my husband he can’t order it because they don’t have chicken. Maybe the food/sercive is better during the day? Ive only gone here 400pm and later. Big thumbs down! Finally confirming this is a chnace too many, I wont be returning.

The first and last time I’m eating here! My friend ordered a rice plate and when the waitress delivered the dish, there was a hair embedded in the rice. We let her know that there was a hair on it and even though she went back to the kitchen to «fix it», she came back out with the same plate with the hair still on it! In addition, when my fried rice order came to the table, a blue rubber band was hidden in my rice. I honestly don’t know how they’re still in business with this type of service. I am so appalled at this level of service and I would gladly take my money to the other vietnamese place down the street.

I have come to this place several times for its convenience of location on my lunch breaks. The food is ok, there’s nothing that really sets it above average. the service is ok as well. It’s always slow when I go in but I usually take a late lunch so I don’t have to worry about waiting. Overall, the place is average. If it’s a convenient place for you, go for it.

Yikes! If you’re in San Jose and you serve Vietnamese food, I’ll always have high expectations, but this place just did not fulfill any great expectations. Came here for lunch and ordered vermicelli with grilled pork and also some grilled beef spring rolls. Whew those grilled beef spring rolls bring a pretty terrible taste to my mouth just thinking about them, not to mention there was some unknown plastic when I bit into them. My vermicelli was tasteless and the noodles tasted almost old, the pork was a lot fattier than what I’m used to without much flavor, and again I was shocked to find unexpected egg shells in my noodles. I’m usually all about leftovers but was not inclined to bringing home the rest. I would definitely recommend going a bit further across the road to the Com Tam Thanh.

New name but pretty much the same. Came here with coworkers for lunch. Ordered the chicken phở(phở ga) but asked for less noodles since I’m trying to limit my carb intake. Less noodles not less chicken, but it came with both less noodles and chicken. The plate of veggies had 1 sprig of basil, 1. Come on its phở, u are supposed to load up on bean sprouts and basil. At least that’s how I like to eat it. I think I threw them for a loop when I wanted less noodles. They probably thought we can get away with the little chicken we put in. Maybe before it was usually masked by the abundance of noodles. Its a convenient location considering it’s right by work. But it wouldn’t be my first go to place for lunch. They do keep it clean, can give them that. Usually Vietnamese phở places are a little less spacious and clean. But that’s all I’ll give them.

**Phở Quest Stop #54** «Let’s meet at the Vietnamese place across from the Vietnamese place.» While that line doesn’t work in San Jose’s Little Saigon, for the relatively barren culinary area between Campbell and San Jose, I knew exactly where they were talking about. The original Vietnamese place refers to Com Tam Thanh, one of the few Vietnamese places to open in the area and a welcome choice with solid rice plates and average phở noodle soups. The second Vietnamese spot refers to Phở Saigon Dynasty that must have slipped my radar and has been renamed Phở Spring after I assume was a mild renovation of the interior as well as the signs/menus. Phở Spring is a much larger space inside than one would expect from the outside and has both high ceilings and two flat screen tv’s in addition to the bright chalkboard of specials and the large color menu of Vietnamese banh mi choices. Despite the redecorated interior, it still feels a bit grungy. Hoisin sauce bottles with cracks and sauce leaked out and sriracha bottles with clogged tops are minor things but show how other places clean and maintain these things more meticulously. The menu is a broad one and they offer more choices than nearby Com Tam Thanh down the street. Specifically, vegetarian options as well as more rice and fried noodle dishes add to the variety along with several types of noodle soups(phở, hu tieu, mi). My order: House Special Phở with Rare Steak, Beef Balls, Tendon, and Tripe. $ 7.50. I ordered the rare steak on the side and a very small plate(although I did order small) of thinly sliced steak with a nice red color arrived alongside the piping hot broth. The bowl appears to be the same as the large but with less noodles and ingredients but plentiful hot broth. The broth is nicely oil free but honestly fairly bland with a lack of rich beefiness or flavor. The noodles are good and cooked well. The flank, rare steak and beef balls are fairly average with the beef balls particularly tasting like several affordable grocery store varieties I’ve bought. The tendon were hard and undercooked although the tripe was fine. Overall, the phở was very average and I’m hard pressed to say it’s better than the similarly average bowl at Com Tam Thanh. Perhaps the rice plates or dry vermicelli dishes are a bit better. As this area is fairly devoid of Asian options and the price is right, I suspect I’ll be back to try more of the menu. Phở Spring accepts credit cards but not American Express and not for orders under $ 10. This place is not in Willow Glen its in the run down part of Burbank area San Juan Zaa. It used to be another failed Phở place replaced about 8 months ago with and equally as bad a pace. I ordered a grilled pork sandwich .No cilantro, no hot peppers no spread… had to ask for the normal condiments found in a «Vietnamese» please!, Sandwich! I noticed the portions were not good on other dishes but will admit, I should have known for $ 3.89 per sandwich! Two slices of grilled pork or .01 ounces of meat. In New York, this place would be gone in three weeks time!.I had to leave hungry and jam over to Tasty Vietnamese on Hamilton avenue before they closed! And NO! The sandwich picture is not helpful as the content volume would be inaccurate sorry!

Always good food, I am careful what I order though. The service is great when the women wait on you, not great when the men do… Prices reasonable. I like it :) very clean.

This place is really cute and clean. Staff is friendly. The food is ok. I ordered the grilled pork and egg rolls. I got some grilled pork that was also with cut up pork chop(super dry). So that’s minus a star. I ordered fried egg rolls. Nice light and crispy on the outside but tons if oil on the plate. Not very much flavor on the inside. Decent at best. Not my favorite place to eat Vietnamese cuisine but its better than the hospital cafeteria.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here when it was Phở Saigon Dynasty. Now it’s Phở Spring. Just recently remodeled and it looks nice. Since it’s the grand opening, you can get a free soda or iced coffee.

I’d have to say this is the best neighborhood phở joint in the vicinity. Always friendly and the food is good if not awesome. I came a couple times when it was Phở Saigon but now I’d like to try everything on the menu. I’m stoked about their Hu Tieu.

Place was empty when I got there around 7pm. Pleasantly welcomed and saw lots so improvement on the building. We ordered spring roll which was ok. My husband liked his chicken and fried egg over rice and I like my wonton soup with egg noodle.

Name change did not improve service. Which was an important drawback of the previous management. Went in on Friday noon and it was half-full yet it took a while to get my food order and served. The menu listed item 31 as shredded crab tomato soup. It came with a couple of tofu cubes and pork meatballs which were supposed to have some crab. I know I’m not going to hell for biting into one of the meatballs, but I left them because of Lent. The extra attention I got from the servers did not get me what was listed on the menu which is what I wanted to have. The price is right, the servers friendly. I have to give them a second chance. It’s okay for the lunch crowd but probably need some more variety in its menu selections. Parking is not a problem.

One of the four places I visited this week. It never seems busy regardless of time of day. The food is plain, nothing with too much flavor. I ordered a smoothie with pearls once and it was watery flavorless, and the pearls where in a solid chunk in the bottom of the cup. Not great, not good the least expensive of the places I went to, and yes I ordered the same thing at all of them. Not too excited to return.

Man all these other reviews are wack, cause this place is off the hook! They have a very flavorful phở broth that comes with a generous portion of meat and noodles. Their drinks must be made with crack, because after my coconut smoothie(absolutely delicious), I had to order another because I was totally hooked(got a red bean the second time, absolutely delicious again). I dunno about y’all, but cheap, delicious Vietnamese food is always welcome in my tummy.

Whatever you do, don’t get the bo luc lac here. I wouldn’t shoot this place down completely cuz my buddies’ food looks pretty damn GOOD, and I’m sure it was cuz it was hella crackin during lunch time. BUT I totally ordered the wrong thing. I know I’m picky about my bo luc lac, but damn. «overcooked» was an understatement. My poor little cubed pieces of meat were all black and didn’t taste good. WAHWAH. I’ll come back(maybe) for their other dishes.

This place is your typical quick and inexpensive family ran phở restaurant. Unilocalers who care about service and cleanliness will give it 1 or 2 stars and complain about how the waiters barely knew English, got orders incorrect, and the chopsticks were not washed well. Unilocalers who care mostly about the food and price will commend this place on it’s large portions and inexpensive prices. I honestly did not like the phở too much, there are better places to get a bowl of phở less than a mile away. However… they had the A’s game on… so I actually enjoyed myself there. I guess some Unilocalers are annoying enough to rate a restaurant on what they had on the TV… I hate those people.

I don’t know how I wound up here but after Eggplant was discharged from the hospital, my Daughter wanted dinner and she requested for phở. I don’t know what it is but I do not have any phở places bookmarked, or maybe I do but it was so out of the way perhaps but I decided to trek over here and give this place a try. It took me a good less than 10 minutes drive from McKee and of course since it was cold, raining, and on a weeknight, the place was deserted. I noticed that the restaurant accepts VISA/MC which is awesome for an Asian restaurant and the restaurant was well-lit and super clean. Service was slow. OMG. we waited forever for our food to come out. Though the complaints stopped when the food came out. I ordered Mustard(my Daughter) a small sized bowl of phở bo vien w/no hanh ngo, extra bo vien. I ordered a small size because they do not have a kid’s portion(like at Phở Mai). I ordered the #41, I think. bun w/bi, dau huu ky, and thit nuong. it’s a unique vermicelli bowl because the bi and dau huu ky is normally served w/broken rice. Kudos for mixing it up. I like it when places get creative. Anyway, I ENJOYED my dish so much that I wanted to order another one. I tried a few sips of the phở and it was flavorful. I would not mind ordering phở here. Well done, Mustard for making me eat Vietnamese food.
