0 Stars: The rude ass lady (Mexican mid 30’s) that’s been there for years that acts as if your an inconvenience to her when ordering. She hates her job & clearly takes it out on you with her I’m trying to hold in a fart look on her sour face.
— Negative Stars: For the dead rat outside the back door of the restaurant by the bathroom. (I even took a video to prove I was at Renatos)

I have been coming here since I was a kid and i absolutely love this pizza here! The bullfighter is the best! This is my go to pizza spot. Why the one star? Cuz I absolutely hate the lady’s behind the counter (the older man is cool)!! They are extremely rude and disrespectful! It NEVER EVER fails, I get the same rude attitude, it feels like I am bothering them when I am ordering! I can’t stand them. I miss the old owner :-(

Talk about bad personalities and bad service. Below average pizza. Hands down worst spaghetti.
3.00 for a small soda plus 1.00 for a refill
12.00 for a small pizza and what we believe is frozen crust. Who cuts a round 12 pizza in squares?
I highly recommend that you avoid this place

This place is disgusting beyond words. I literally wanted to throw up the pizza i ate after seeing other Unilocal reviews with roaches and ants cooked in the cheese.
I went 2 days ago and had the worst customer service of my life. The older lady in the front made my michelada i ordered and put ice in it. One of the ice cubes was too big so she stuck her hand in my cup and took it out. How disgusting! I then told her i didn’t want any ice and she got upset. Like lady im the one who should be upset !!! Then my brother went and asked for a pitcher of ice water and the another lady huffed and puffed in his face about it ! Then gave us like 3 ice cubes. They’re rude and the pizza doesnt even taste good. I heard it was good so i tried it but never again. I am definitely going to the bbb to make sure they are inspected. Nasty ass people.

This place is disquisting and the worst customer service! I will never come here again. I used to come as a kid but now the new owners or ppl who run it are so rude. Rhe place has roaches baked in their cheese!!! Need i say more. Calling BBB tomorrow they need inspection.

Love this Place! The Pizza is extremely cheesy kids will love it! The crust has to be the best crust I ever had! Dominos, Pizza Hut never liked crust always threw it out! Came here and the crust is simply amazing! The pizza is nice and fluffy and they sell pitchers of soda or Beer! The wings are great too! They have a great menu and great choices of toppings! Small but awesome arcade played a couple of classic arcade games and they even have a pool table! Wish more people in San Jose knew about this place. It’s in a sketchy plaza but it’s definitely worth it! Want to try a new pizza spot? Check this place out!

Best Pizza Ever! Truly my Favorite!!!

I hate giving a negative review, but in this case I felt it necessary.
We have been going to Renato’s for over 15 years and it was amazing. it them got sold from an Italian family to a Mexican family and pizza quality wasn’t as great but it was still our «go to» place. Last Friday we ordered a pizza and after eating a number of slices we noticed the pizza had ants:(eeewwww!!! I immediately called the restaurant to let them know the situation, but the owner was no where to be found. After about 5 calls, I was able to speak to the owner, but she refused to do anything. the least I would expect is an «I’m sorry «yet that never came out of her mouth– she seemed offended that I called to tell them just findings.
Sadly I don’t think I’d go back!!!
To the owner, you should really consider taking some classes on how to run a business properly!

Avoid… if not for the shitty pizza, then do it for the fact that the people behind the counter cant count money for shit. Paid $ 2.00 for a $ 1.09 coke… got back $ 0.10 in change? Wrong. I had to correct her several times before she got it right.

People keep telling me «Remember that this is California». It made sense when I went to the Italian restaurant in San Francisco that was run by Chinese people, and they did a great job.
This place had Chorizo on the menu, and in all the Italian restaurants where I’ve been, that was a first but this is California.
I ordered a Mushroom Burger, which comes with steak fries, and an Apple Juice. Why Apple Juice? Everything I requested, they didn’t have. At just under $ 9.00, the price was in line with other restaurants.
Since there was a whole family in the restaurant, I thought that they were having a party, and the service seemed more focused on them. With just one person working the restaurant, it took some time. I tried to be patient, but I was about to walk to the counter and ask what was happening.
A little later, she brought a pizza pan out with a huge sandwich and fries. I’ve never had a hamburger on a long roll, until today but this is California. (Sorry, but I love being back, even though things seem more mixed than I can remember.)
The sandwich was better than just good but the bread was unusual. She never asked me what I wanted on it, and I wanted to try it their way first, before considering messing with it. Actually, it seemed as though I was in a VietNamese place because of the French-​style bread. A typical hamburger bun or Kaiser Roll would have been a better choice.
I look forward to my next visit, probably getting a Mini Combo pizza.

Horrible… After years of coming to eat here… we found a roach on our pizza about a week ago… we let them know and they have the nerve to be the ones who are upset… I don’t think will be eating pizza for a really long time after this incident… so much business and yet they can’t afford to humigate the place. unacceptable… And disgusting…

The customer service was better when the 2^nd girl came up front to take our drink order, the first girl was short maybe even rude. The pizza was made to order and it didn’t take too long to get. The pizza wasn’t cut all the way through so I had to do it myself with the spatula. I like the way it is cut into squares instead of slices, makes it convenient. The pizza was flavorful and cheesy. The pizza bread was too sweet for my pizza pallet but it was good. The downside was the restroom. It was disgusting. Could use a good bleach cleaning ceiling to floors.

Worst pizza ever, don’t know what the hell these 4 and 5 star raters are on, but they obviously don’t know the difference between fresh pizza and frozen pizza. I’d rather have costco pizza rather than what they serve here

Can I put 20 Stars on how the pizza tastes??? Lord… its soo good. Me and my Family have been coming here for years, other owners as well but pizza tastes the same! Of course that secret sauce or IDK its very very tasty. A lot of people dont know about this place because where its located its a little hidden but its jackpot when you find it. To satisfy my small cravings I get a Mini Hawaiian pizza with Shirmp and bell pepper or just order the large combination with shrimp and jalapeños. =) Price its very good for the quality. and Honestly I dont mind the lady being rude sometimes haha I just love Renatos pizza.

This is my first time eating Renato’s pizza. Over all its good pizza but not authentic Italian cuisine.

Every now and then I get the cravings for a sweet bread pizza and it’s cooked to the perfection even on all sides of the pizza

This place is thr bomb! Pizza tastes delicious! Many varieties and options. Huge place for parties which i will try next. Usually i call and carryout with 20 minutes. They have an arcade inside and i believe a dance floor as well.

So sad that this place is such a hit or miss. When the pizza is cooked correctly, it is so good, we don’t have any leftovers lol. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case this evening… I came here for my cheat meal, and the crust was super thin (thinner than my pinky), hardly any sauce, and on top of all that (no pun intended) there was very minimal cheese :(
There wasn’t really anyone inside the restaurant, and I didn’t see many people coming in/​out for pick up, so I’m confused as to why my food sucked so bad… I’m writing this as I sit in here, waiting for my family to finish, I can’t believe I wasted my reward meal for this… :(((

Wow! This place is amazing! We got Medium with black olives, chorizo, and extra cheese! It is delicious! I will come back again!

I guess this place has been around a long time. It has a Mexican Restaurant feel to it. I guess because of the tables and chairs used. The pizza was pretty good though. Reasonable prices on pizzas.
