Place is inside of Holiday Inn. Hardly anyone in the restaurant and I had to wait for someone to sit me down. Not very much to choose from the list and overly priced on their menu. I ordered chicken presto fettuccine and it was 27.00 and appetizers begin at 14 and up. Its not worth. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Went there on a Saturday night, and the restaurant itself was closed!!! Odd, I thought, but they were still serving food in the bar area. The bar area had 6 very small round tables. The server, who was also the bartender was inattentive, as he was bust chatting with someone at the bar our entire meal. If not for the lady bussing tables we would never have gotten his attention. I will say however, that the food was excellent.

San Fresco is a hidden gem inside the Holiday Inn on First Street right near 880. This part of San Jose does not have many restaurant options, particularly for nicer business lunches. I took a new employee to San Fresco yesterday. I had spinach-prawn salad. It was delicious(perhaps made even better by the bacon that was also in the salad)! Even the coffee was really good; no bitterness! I’ve eaten at San Fresco for numerous business lunches and dinners, and have never been disappointed. Usually I get a seafood option for dinner, and a salad meal for lunch. Other options include beef and pasta. They even have a smallish private room for events, which I’ve used for a Board meeting and a wedding shower. Give it a try!

We went for a late lunch after running some errands nearby. I had a certificate and figured we’d try it. It is located in the Holiday Inn, enter through the lobby — turn left and there it is. There is also a bar to your right at that point — looked ok. We did not know they stopped serving lunch and closed at 2pm and got there at 1:40. The manager was there and he said it was OK, to seat ourselves and that someone would be by to take our order. It was a fast lunch, that’s for sure — I promised we wouldn’t lag on and keep ordering iced tea refills or anything. I even asked for everything to be brought at once, including the to-go containers AND the check… he seemed happy with this arrangement and so was I. I had the seafood salad, my BF had the angel hair pasta and we decided on the Cajun shrimp app. It was all pretty tasty — the bill came to almost $ 50 after tax…(our cert was fro $ 25, so that took out a lot of the sting). The bread was OK. nothing to write home about. The iced tea was flavored with what I was told was mango — would be nice to say if the tea is flavored up front, but it was no biggie. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there specifically, but if I was staying at the hotel there would be no need to go out exploring that part of metro /downtown SJ for something to eat. Easy Lightrail Access right out front pretty much — and they do validate parking if you drove there, just ask before you leave. Entry is through a gate with a ticket machine and arm. Ample parking… nice atmosphere. The manager and waiter were VERYNICE and accommodating.

This place is not worth the money, when you spend $ 13 on a sandwich and find that the bread is stale and they left off the meat on the second layer, just a leaf of lettuce? I filled out a survey with my name, number and address. Never heard back from them.

A great restaurant inside Holiday Inn on 1st street San Jose. Food was awesome, the best pasta, and he steak was awesome, superbly cooked to perfection. Staff in the restaurant were great! the server and the manager on the evening of 23rd of Aug 2014, were amazing! I would surely go back to the restaurant again, if I am in town.

Went for dinner on Wednesday nigh and from start to finish had a fantastic meal. Waiters were excellent, kept away but checked on every step of meal. We both ordered steaks which were also fantastic. And it was comfortable and quiet enough that we were able to talk as I was visiting a friend from out of town. Plan to meet there again with friends for dinner.

Saw this restaurant on the website and it was close to work so four of us decided to try it for lunch on Friday. Shared the fried calamari appetizer with the pepper aioli which was great. We also ordered some steak sandwiches and hamburgers which included a side choice of fresh fruit, potato salad, or french fries, all of which were very good. Service was a little bit slow considering that the restaurant was only 25% occupied,. We had to ask for bread and then had to keep flagging down the server to get water refills and additional service, but hopefully the service will improve because the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable.(The coupon saved us the cost of the appetizer!)

I am surprised of all the bad feedback. Went there for lunch today and had a nice experience. Ambiance: Nice, clean, roomy Service: Very attentive, we were seated right away. Drinks and food came very quickly. The only strange thing was that the bread did not come until we were in the middle of our entrée. But it was nice and warm. Food: The crab cake was not very good. Did not have the crispiness that I am used to. The blackened salmon was excellent. The seared ahi sandwich was also very good. We did not have enough room for dessert. Bonus: There is a deal for $ 25 off. Parking ticket validated at front desk.

I’ve been here many times for our customer luncheons. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. The appetizers, entrees and desserts are yummy. Everyone took great care of us. Its located inside the Holiday Inn Express so many people do not know about it.

Best steal and eggs breakfast I have ever eaten. Perfectly prepared, perfectly spiced, and PERFECT service from Jose and Valentine! Lots of coffee, Jose got our order just right, and it was ready in no time. We were seated by a warm and smiling Francesco, and the entire meal experience was wonderful! Thanks for making my birthday breakfast perfect!

Last week, I went there with an experience to use the Entertainment coupon. Here is my experience at 12:30 noon, Me and my friend walk into the place. The place looked clean and the tables were kept so fine dining professionally; I was indeed surprised with that. trying to look for waiter to take me to the table, There were some working guys around the entrance and showed me a table. Later the same guys got some bread and so, I asked for vinegar oil — He gave me olive oil; Then I asked for the other red oil. He brought the vinegar. Suddenly the Chef came in and took order — Then he came back in 15 mins with the food looking good. Food was probably medium to better. Paid the check and moved out. Overall was OK. Then can make the place much better and also the expectation based on the price is to have a much better service. May be guess not. :)

Horrible from food to service even at half priced. Now in the holiday inn. I had the shrimp, scallops and ravioli, which was all over cooked. The hot bread was like wonder with ice cold butter. My date had steak with mashed potatoes and his asparagus and carrots were raw! Avoid at all cost. The restaurant is closed on weekends when we went and we were served in the lobby and never saw the waiter.

Our first clue should have been that it was in a hotel — with only a few exceptions, these places feel they don’t have to try too hard as they have a captive clientele. Our second clue should have been the prices. What this ended up being was a mediocre and expensive meal — the worst kind.

Oh, boy. Almost got the infamous«Death 1 Star». I had some business meetings and met some customers in the lobby bar. We had a few drinks and decided to stay and eat at the San Fresco Restaurant. Wrong choice! The place inside the Wyndham is really decorated nicely(its only saving grace). We waited for 3 minutes, and then were led to our table. We ordered some appetizers. My colleague ordered a beer. When it came, it was in a bottle, with a cap on it. The server just put it in front of him. WTF? Appetizers arrived and the ribs were greasy and horrible tasting. I had one bite only. The salads were ok. Throughout all the meal, we had to almost beg for our water glasses to get refilled. Very poorly trained servers. Main courses arrived and were less than mediocre. Really disappointed. Prices were high for this quality of food. Nothing more to say. This hotel does not know how to set up and operate a decent restaurant. Won’t return.
