Two stars because I enjoyed walking around and looking at the creative and fun costumes. Overall, I was disappointed because it was advertised as family fun. However, this event seems to want to cater to young children with a few games for children maybe 7 years and younger. We had an 11 year old boy with us that was bored with the event. It appeared that you had to drink in booths that appeared to exclude children. Like the other reviewer it appears disorganized and few of the entertainers tried to engage us. We missed the $ 20 parking issue, experienced by other fair-goers, quite by accident and parked across the street for $ 7. Seems like a missed opportunity by the organizers.

This is a joke of a festival. I’ve been to major fantasy events and while I wasn’t expecting it to be like the festivals in other states, it was barely fantasy more pirate based. This same company puts on the renaissance festival in the same location and based on my experience of the two events, they simply don’t know what they are doing. My recommendation? Don’t bother going, it’s pointless and hot, there’s no shade whatsoever and the people who work the event don’t even know where things are, if I could leave no stars I would, but sadly I can’t. Also the site for the festival isn’t accurate, the vendors list wasn’t right, what was there and what was listed are two totally different things.

Right in the heart of San Jose. Tons of parking. The event is a family-friendly festival, a blending of myth and popular fantasy. A wondrous gathering of knights and princesses, as they stand side-by-side with elves and fairies, on a weekend filled with performances to enchant children and grown-ups alike. Best if you think of it as Halloween in April. Tons of interaction in the streets. Steampunk, Cosplay, etc. Fantastic variety of vendors for some terrific shopping. Great food! A wonderful way to spend a day out with the family.
