You might be wondering why a 5 star review for a buffet restaurant? Well, the food is standard Sweet Tomatoes fare but it was the service that was amazing. One person on the staff made the difference in my dining experience. The staff member is Emmanuel. In addition to removing plates and bowls in a timely manner, he actually politely asked which drink you are having and went to refill your cup for you! His hospitality is surprisingly better then some full service restaurant. Next time my family is craving Sweet Tomatoes, you know which location I’ll drive to!

I used to Love Sweet Tomatoes! My kids and hubby enjoyed it. Last night we go and I couldn’t believe it cost is 52.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids. We usually have a coupon but the one we had just expired. I asked the clerk if that was correct? She said you are getting drinks… not sure what that meant. We already had our salads made. It was sad to see how unkept it was. The soups were gloppy and had«film» on top of some. Some of the salad concoctions looked like they were made from yesterday’s leftovers. Sadly, last night will be our last. The only good thing to say about last night was the bus boy who helped was super nice and attentive.

I love sweet tomatoes and it’s something I have to get at least every other week. Two things I love about this location: 1. Not too crowded during dinner time or the weekend. Which means it won’t be too hard to find parking space and no wait/line once you get inside. 2. A+ service. The staffs are super nice here and checks on you often to take away any extra plates or bowls that are in your way. One downside is that I do feel like they have less food options compare to some other locations…

After working a long day and before going home wanted a quick bite to eat. Healthy as possible. Food was ok. Veggies looked tired and not bright and fresh, place is kind of messy and only 2 women’s bathroom stalls no Bueno. Service was efficient but counters were messy, ice cream machine not efficient a lot of wasted product. Unacceptable. Made it look very unappetizing. It was just OK.

Came here at 9pm yesterday because it was raining and my dad and I just wanted to eat something quick. But sadly, only the salad was good. Everything else wasn’t goo at all. Compared to the other Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes I’ve been to, this one was definitely lacking. The soup was bland and meh and pizza was just mushy! WHY. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this place but you could go for the salad if you’re vegetarian! Not all are vegetarian though I think.

My new favorite location since the Coleman one gotten worse and worse. All the staff here are friendly and are always working hard to clean and stock items. Food here is always FRESH and doesn’t look like it’s been sitting for hours! It does get busy and yes sometimes there is a wait, but they try to get tables cleared and people seated as quickly as possible. The coupons that are frequently sent to my email make this a great choice. My 5 year old loves this place too!

5 star rating for the amazing service. The people that work here really care about your dining experience. We came on a busy Friday night and wanted to sit indoors. They were jam packed with no tables available. They did find us a table a few minutes after paying. It was a booth in the corner that probably seated 2 comfortably, but there was 5 of us. We tried to make it work, but it was just too small and there was no space for anyone to move let alone eat. A little bit later a table becomes open and they cleaned it for us. We enjoyed our dinner and as we were exiting the manager runs after us and gives us a complimentary bag of cookies apologizing for the inconvenience and the crappy seating. He didn’t have to do that as it’s not his fault the place is packed on a Friday night. It really showed that he cared about his customers. The food was good and on par for Sweet Tomatoes. The selection was OK as I’m used to the one in Fremont that generally has a a lot more food. We definitely will be back to this location based on the service alone!

FOOD is buffet style and no meat so lions tigers and bears won’t like it here. Extensive salad bar with all the toppings you can think of. You can add a serving of salmon for an extra charge. Soup bar is usually a favorite of mine when they have a white based potato chowder or clam chowder type soup. Fruit area. Cheese pizza area. Bread. Pasta with red sauce. Soft serve frozen yogurt. Fountain drinks. Food is just okay I mean it’s buffet so it’s quantity over quality. My niece loves the brownies but I think they’re just ok. SEATING is booth style or table and chairs in the middle for big groups. OVERALL A OK for 3 stars for me. They send coupons to your house or in the newspaper that I’ve seen. Not much interaction with staff needed so no complaints there. Parking lot outside is shared with other businesses in the plaza.

This is favorite«go-to» spot in San Jose. Although we enjoy finer dining, sometimes you just want something easy, healthy and TO-GO! We much rather prefer to come here then greasy fast food drive through. We rarely eat inside though because there tends to be a lot of kids and families on certain nights(especially Sunday’s) and it can be a HOTMESS. However they have great to-go specials, the location is clean and we can always can’t on them them to have our favorites(the clam chowder soup, blueberry muffins, Chinese chicken and Caesar salad with beats!)

I love coming here! It’s the closest one to where I live. I’ve been to other sweet tomatoes but this one is my favorite. It gets pretty busy here so service during those times isn’t great. The food is awesome. I love their house made ranch and croutons. Their Mac n cheese, and muffins sooo good! I always have at least 4 when I come here haha

Buffets are normally stomach-breaking meals that may leave you feeling guilty and way too full for comfort. Sweet Tomatoes, however, is pleasantly different in that you leave content, but with food that is both lighter and decently well made. Having always been our choice for when we want a lighter lunch, this Sweet Tomatoes has been the one spot my hubby and I frequent often. Located in a plaza with Chick Fil A, Panera Bread, and Five Guys, it is certainly not lacking in the competition category. Inside, you will see the typical salad bar that leads to the cash register, and further in you will find your counter of soups, breads, pastas, and desserts. Sweet Tomatoes doesn’t serve very filling foods. Most of the items are simplistic, like mac and cheese, clam chowder(my hubby’s personal favorite), wheat bread and butter, and soft serve ice cream. It’s not a place you would want to go for dinner since you won’t find any slabs of beef or pork here. Although, it does make a great spot for vegetarians. Considering how simple the foods are, the flavors aren’t too mind-blowing either. Everything tastes as it should, with some a bit more bland than preferred in my opinion. While it isn’t the most amazing food experience, it is certainly easy on both the wallet and the stomach. If you ever feel inclined to stuff yourself with salad and hot soup, Sweet Tomatoes will definitely do you right.

This is my go to place when Im feeling a little under the weather(sick with a cold). The reason is because they have one of the best chicken noodle soups! Even when Im not sick and feeling something not so greasy and somewhat healthy, I come here to stuff my face. Im not crazy about greens at the salad bar, but I can load my plate with the spiral pasta and pile some awesome toppings and thousand islands dressing. The soup and pizza/bread & pasta section is where all the action is at. I can easily overload on garlic cheesy bread with my soups. lol This location is always clean, but the dessert section could use more attention. They lack good toppings for the softserve. While talking about the softserve, I personally like grabbing a soup bowl and packing a brownie in it and then topping it with vanilla softserve and some hot fudge. Service, they are really good. There isn’t a lot of interaction with the servers but when there is, they are very helpful. I even had the cashier offer me a better coupon to save me more money than the one I already had. That’s winning service right there!

I really enjoyed this location better than the one on Coleman. This place is really crowded during lunch hour but the workers kept on making sure everything was stocked and fresh. I liked how there was a variety of everything and something for everyone! When a server collected our plates, she was very friendly and nice. Would be coming here again

What a fun, fairly healthy(lol subjective…) and delicious spot! This was my first time in this location, but I’ve been to Sweet Tomatoes before and pretty much know how it works and what they generally serve. Upon entering you have the salad bar. I love the pre-tossed salads! On my recent visit, they had the classic caesar and an asian wonton… probably two of my favorite types of salads! So of course, I loaded my plate with those. Another salad bar option that stood out was the sriracha ranch coleslaw… that in itself already sounds amazing doesn’t it?! Yes, it was. You get your utensils, your cup and pay for your amazingly priced AYCE admission fee. Now onto the buffet area… they had about 8? soup options! There was a ton of variety — from asian ginseng and cream of mushroom, to the classic chowder and hearty chili! My favorites were the corn chowder, chili and the mexican sausage and pasta soup!(I apologize I don’t remember all the names, so I’m vaguely saying them by description)! They have this great section for all your fixings to enhance your soup or have them perfect to dress their baked potatoes — green onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, spinach, etc. For dessert, I always love their little hot and toasty blueberry muffins! I also loved the seasonal pumpkin froyo/ice-cream that they had with their miniature cones — adorable. Just a side note — I even loved their clean bathrooms. They had a little step-stool and child-friendly soap dispenser! How sweet of them to cater to children and families; I noticed by the time we left, the restaurant was packed with mostly families(there were also couples and small groups too).

Sweet Tomatoes offers a very healthy & fresh wholesome food. Appreciate the idea of the restaurant chain to help people eat a balanced diet. I’ve been a regular to this chain wherever I go and a big fan of this particular facility as it is maintained neat & clean most times. Their food menu changes almost everyday, providing different variety of soups, tossed salads, prepared salads, bean varieties, pastas, small savory breads, bakery items & desserts. In fact, this wide range of menu options make ST more special & welcoming. My most favorite picks from their menu are: 4 bean Minestrone among soups; BBQ Potato Salad, Chipotle, Lime & Cilantro Quinoa(Vegan), and Vegetarian Slaws among their prepared salads. They have good ‘Baked Potatoes’, just have it with some pepper & salt or balsamic vinegar — tastes yummy & great. Don’t forget to try their ‘Tapioca pudding’ for the dessert(if you like jellies, add them with the pudding) — such a simple dessert yet tastes as heavenly as ever. Warm blueberry muffins & chocolate brownies are the best among their bakeries. Sometimes they even come around and serve freshly baked pastries to your table. Do grab a few, for they taste fantastic. Generally, this is a fairly medium sized facility and the staff here are friendly & helpful. Has huge parking lot too. Overall, I love Sweet Tomatoes for their unlimited nutrition enriched food, serving at decent prices, making it easier for people to stay fit all the time. Quick Tip: Make use of their free coupons & enjoy fabulous discount deals for Family/Lunch/Dinner. I must say, they are very useful and a good saving!

Good quality of food. The selection of premixed and make-your-own salad is also good. They have around 6 – 8 soup choices per day as well as various kinds of bread and pastries. They need to Replenish their pasta faster though.

First time here for family dinner on a Wednesday night. No line and plenty of seating. Fresh and very clean salad bar. There was not one spill-over of any item along the line. I was impressed considering I’ve been to the Sunnyvale, Montain View and Coleman locations. The chicken noodle is my favorite soup. Simple, fresh and satisfying. One thing I noticed was the chicken chunks here are much smaller than that of the Mountain View and Sunnyvale locations. $ 13 for an adult, but if you get a coupon online you can save a buck or two.

I was going to give this place 2 stars, but considering the good service I got, I bumped it up. So we were moving all weekend and I said to heck with my nutrition plan, I’m going to eat at a buffet. But how do you eat buffet style without the guilt that buffets put on you? You go to Sweet Tomatoes because it’s primarily veggies right? Right?! *sigh* Well of course everyone first focuses on the veggies until they go to the pizza, breads, soups, and dessert area. So let’s go to the service. I was about to pay with a coupon I found online and the cashier was like, I have a better deal, and she gave me a deeper discount! Score! The cleanliness of the place was super well maintained. The food came out in full force. The only thing which was quite disheartening was that the soft serve was out of service!!! SADTIMES! It’s what I look forward to at the end of my meal. Back to the soups. I love the soups here. I generally take bits and pieces of soups I like and then add the toppings from the baked potato area. So I would get the noodles and chicken from the chicken noodle soup and add it to another soup, then add the cheese, onions, and bacon bits on top. YUM! Also don’t fill yourself up on the salad bar in the beginning otherwise you won’t have room for all the other goodies like the pizza bits and the muffins… oh gosh the muffins and breads and the honey butter…*drool* All in all, glad to have a Sweet Tomatoes nearby with great service. I just hope next time I’ll be able to enjoy the sweet sweet icy goodness of the soft serve which I typically put over the brownie!

I never knew this Sweet Tomatoes existed until now! The inside has a cool industrial/high ceilings kind of feel. It’s not very big in here, however I think it’s definitely the newest and cleanest sweet tomatoes compared to the Sunnyvale, San Jose(Coleman), and Fremont locations. I think they have the freshest salad bar and they don’t skimp on the good spring mix salad. I know the Sunnyvale and San Jose ones mix the cheaper lettuce in the spring mix whereas this one uses all spring mix which is awesome. The soups here on the other hand are a little on the saltier side and lack noodles/meat/good stuff inside. The Sunnyvale location definitely does not skimp on that part and they have less saltier soups. Nonetheless, the soups are still good here. Their Mac n cheese is very bland here and it’s not in those large bowls that keep it warm. My boyfriend liked their Mac n cheese but I wasn’t as big a fan. I like mines more cheesy and with more taste. It didn’t seem like they had warm dessert here either which was disappointing and different from the other sweet tomatoes. The hot food bar is smaller here than other locations and it kind of looks like they don’t have the space for it. That’s probably why the Mac n cheese, pasta and desserts weren’t on a warmer. Overall, I would come back to this location though since it seems a lot cleaner and they have the best salad bar. They also have a really large and nice outdoor seating patio area which is a huge plus!
