I have never had a bad experience here. The pizza is made to order and super tasty no matter what you get. I am vegan and they have vegan cheese and sausage. Yes sometimes they don’t have the cheese, like today, but my pizza was still delicious. The best part about the pizza is the crust, semi flaky yet chewy, yum! They also have Martinelli’s apple juice.

So many reasons this place was great — you can get as many toppings you want for just one price, they offer gluten free pizza crusts and vegan cheese, the price is totally reasonable, and my pizza was SO delicious. Take One is one of my new favorites! And the outdoor space with TVs showing college football games is a great place for a large group or just to dine al fresco. I will definitely be back soon!

Staff and service is great. A good spot to get a quick meal on my way home. Great experience every time I’ve stopped by.

Overall, it’s an okay pizza place. I stopped here with my friends after Shark Fanfest due to its close proximity to SAP center. I ordered the Gunsmoke Chicken(Grilled Chicken, Cheese, BBQ Sauce, Jalapenos, Red Onions, Bacon) while my friends ordered the Meat Scene(Pepperoni, Sausage, Ham, Tomato Sauce) and Beach Scene(Pepperoni, Pineapple, Ham, Cheese, Tomato Sauce). My pizza was quite good — however, my friend’s pizza was greasy and some of the slices were quite burnt. The service is basically non-existent — the employees were talking among themselves a little too much and not enough attention to their customers. The tables were not thoroughly cleaned either.

Pizza was pretty average, my boyfriend ordered plain cheese pizza. I liked that there was a lot of pizza sauce but the crust was pretty dry and on the thin side cheese was on moderately but nothing really stands out about it. Pretty ordinary but fills you up if you’re hungry.

You get what you pay for. My boyfriend thought this place was appealing because it has a similar concept to Pieology where you build your own pizza, but the quality is not worth comparing the two. While my pizza came out looking overcooked, it actually tasted decent. By decent I mean edible, but I would never eat it again. My boyfriend’s looked more tasty in presentation, but his toppings literally melted off the dough and was a complete mess. It’s no wonder why they are giving out BOGO free coupons for lunch.

This pizza place is okay. Although I’m pretty basic on what I like as my toppings, I did see a big selection on there so at least they have a big variety you can chose from. Their pizzas are pretty delicate when eating so just have a lot of napkins ready, but their crust is really tasty . It’s a satisfying place nearby my job, but I have tried better.

Cool make your own pizza! We met a friend here with our 2 year old Twins and got some cheese pizza, Meat Action(pepperoni, sausage, and ham), and the Chicken pesto. All the pizzas were 11 inches and were ready in about 10 minutes with fresh ingredients. The girls devoured the pizza and loved it! They really loved the thin crust. I liked the thin crust but wouldn’t mind a little thicker. Our pizza was a little greasy but not bad. Our Chicken Pesto was a little dark on one side so the staff needs to watch the pizza’s a little better. They were not crowded and have seating inside and outside. Prices were pretty reasonable at $ 8.95 and only come in the 11 inch size. Great is you don’t want to wait and want a quick bite.

I came here because I like pizza places that do the«customize» your own pizza concept(like pieology and mod pizza) and because I received an awesome coupon in the mall that was 2 pizzas for $ 9.99! Came here on a Saturday night and it was not too busy at all(us and two other families); this may be that the location/look of the building makes it hard to find them or for people to discover them. The people who made our pizzas were very generous with the toppings and never made us feel bad for piling it up. Though compared to other pizza customization restaurants, I think they had less variety in toppings and sauces. Also crust is on the thinner side. Overall, it’s always fun to build your own pizza and their portions are generous.

I foresee this place becoming another victim to San Jose’s closing restaurant problem. Shame, there is nothing wrong with this place, the food it alright but it’s always empty. We were looking for a quick bite to eat before a Sharks game and it was the only place with no wait. Otherwise, I don’t know that we would have eaten there at all. I got two slices and a beer which were priced reasonably. They have a huge patio but the furnitue is awkwardly set up.

«Eh»… About the best way to describe it — nothing special, but not bad. Friends of mine and I were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat before going to a Sharks game. Everything downtown was extremely crowded, so we were a bit short on options. Take One Pizza, however, had no line and plenty of place to sit, so naturally, we figured we’d give it a try. I got the Chicago style pizza, and it wasn’t bad. A lot of the other reviews talk about price — I don’t know that it is super expensive, but I guess for what you get, it isn’t super cheap either. They do have beer, which is nice — not a bar or anything, but some beer in the fridge that you can purchase for consumption with your pizza. I did like their outside patio — it was large with plenty of options. There is a decent-sized inside seating area as well. I would probably put this in the same category as ‘Nick the Greek’(another fast-foody type restaurant down the street), but pizza instead of greek cuisine. Nothing special, but if you’re looking for something fast and don’t want to wait, worth stopping in. I worry a bit about how long they’ll be around, though, because it just never seems busy(definitely not a good thing in SJ, where it seems even busy places close their doors).

Great place to build your own pizza with fresh ingredients. Only thing missing was prosciutto and minced garlic. Nice ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and a good menu with salad options. We grabbed a few pizzas to go. This is an enjoyable quick bite.

We came during the Grand opening and been back a couple of times just to be sure my review won’t be biased by the free pizza we got during the Grand Opening and that quality stays consistent. You have an option of choosing their signature pizza on the menu or create you very own pizza from the variety of fresh and unique ingredients. Despite the huge line and hustle and bustle every time we’ve been here, the staff was very efficient and we got our pizzas by the time we made our way down the pizza assembly line and paid! That’s fast freshly made pizza. My family now drives all the way from Castro Valley anytime we crave for some good pizza. I highly recommend Take One Pizza to anyone looking for a quick, high quality meal at an affordable price.

Came here for an event for Unilocal. The staff is extremely nice and friendly not to mention that I love pizza. Their bread is non gluten so it makes me feel slightly better eating the pizza here. I’m a sucker for thin crust pizza which is what they make here. I can’t remember what the pizza name was called, it may have been something similar to an Italian chicken pizza. It consisted with chicken and pesto sauce and cheese. Tasted so amazing not to mention they have a nice outdoor patio. Great food and service I would definitely come back here!

Take One has a nice location with ample outdoor seating. It’s a great place to go for food and summertime relaxing. They opened about a month ago and I had the chance to go for a private party where I did not pay for my food. The owners are friendly and seem serious about service. Not like that other pizza parlor I reviewed. I ordered a custom veggie pizza and it turned out great. Some things I would like to see improved: 1) Make the custom pizza menu/order sheet available at the entries and in the line 2) Might as well have me fill out the ingredients to simplify the creation and communication process and add my name, assign the number to the sheet and hand me the card 3) The pizza making counter may be too narrow, could it be expanded? 4) The ingredients containers should be deeper, so they do not have to be refilled as often 5) Marinara pizza sauce could use more zest and flavor 6) The pizza makers need to have more training and experience on how much to grab and how to spread it, so they move faster and make the process smoother to add to the appeal Nice addition to the downtown area.

I had the pleasure of trying this place out as a soft opening through a Unilocal Elite Event last night. The place has a really cool«movie» theme, which gives you something to look at. You can make your own pizza’s or choose one of theirs that are on the menu. They come in a personal size with 8 slices and are thin crust with a price of about $ 6.95-$ 8.95 I believe. They also have salads, ice cream machine and BEER. Their pizzas are very thing crust, just the way I like it. The crust part is also very crunchy and delicious. I dislike doughy pizza, which makes Take One my new favorite pizza place. They use high quality fresh ingredients and you can see and taste it for yourself. This place is great with enough seatings inside and a great patio outside. The workers are also very hard working with great personalities. Definitely my new go to pizza spot.

I had the luxury of trying 4 different pizzas tonight at a private event. In general, the crust is paper thin with the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. For the price, this is very good pizza. Three of the four slices I picked up were firm and held their shape. The Italian style one was a smidgen undercooked and required a fork to eat. My favorite was the chicken and pesto pizza. My favorite thing about this place is their amazing lemonade!!! Minus one star because all of their seating appears to cater to groups. I often eat out alone, due to the atmosphere, I would only come back with friends.

Eeekkkk nooo way! This place is horrible! Create your own pizza for 6.95 and serves about 8 slices. The pizza tastes like it was from a frozen freezer! Although they make it «fresh» in front of you. I know this place is fairly new, but they definitely need to tweek some things around here. Maybe I’ll try again in a couple months…

Take One Pizza has potential. It’s unfortunate that the restaurant is not tapping into it or marketing itself. The concept of personalized pizza is not new. But seeing your pizza made in front of you in a matter of minutes is and is pretty cool. I was able to witness everything from the dough being pressed, toppings placed, pizza transferred into and baked in the open oven. After I paid, my personal sized pizza was ready before I had the chance to sit down. My Italian Subtitle(chicken, pesto and cheese) was quite good. The crust is thin so it was more of a flat bread. But overall, tasty and fresh. The only things were the small size and skimpy toppings for the price, $ 8. Back to the lack of marketing. I had no idea this place has just opened up. There were no signs or indications. My friends and I happened to wander in because we were on our way to a Sharks game. We wanted to grab something fast and saw that this place was pretty empty compared to everything else. Even when we walked in, no mention of soft opening. And from the outside, we had no idea that it’s pizza made to order in a few minutes. Again, this place has potential. Good location. Big space. Cool concept. It just needs to market itself.

They’re still in their«soft-opening» phrase, so I will cut then some slack. Like, a lot of slack haha. Take One is Pieology, but in a better location. It’s a personal pizza you can load with ingredients, or, if you’d prefer, they have special”(read: generic) pizza with preselected toppings like chicken, mozzarella, pesto… if you’ve ordered pizza before you know what’s up. They have a pretty cool movie theatre-theme going, too. The pizza itself was pretty tasty, actually. I ordered the Meat Action — pepperoni, sausage, ham, and olive oil(possibly? their paper menu says there’s olive oil, but the store menu doesn’t). They fixed their crust issue, so it’s actually pretty crispy and tasty now. The middle is still a little bit undercooked, which makes the toppings at the tip of the slice fall off, but if there was an easy way to make the middle section of thin-crust pizza as crispy as the edges, we wouldn’t pay that extra $ 6 to Amici’s across the street. They ran out of spicy sauce, so I didn’t get to test that, but their generic marinara was pretty decent. Meat portions are actually pretty generous too — they give large chunks of ham and sausage — but unfortunately they tend to fall of the slice due to the softer center and the … large… ness… of the topping. I want to talk about the service, but honestly, they’re so new that I would feel ragging on them. Their staff is mostly young, however, so I can kinda point out that there was an employee that was literally doing nothing but playing with his hair and iPhone in the kitchen(!!) while a queue of 5 quietly formed. Annoying. Anyway, they make a decent pizza, and the service will only get better. I’ll be back in like… a month or two(if they’re still open). – 45 minutes into writing this review I am beginning to feel a little sick. Guess their crust was a little more undercooked than I thought ha ha :(
