Amazing authentic Mexican food! I got the chile verde plate and I was blown away by the quality of the meat and the chile verde sauce. My boyfriend got the chimichanga and normally I don’t like how they are fried but this one was fried perfectly and had a delicious flaky crust. Also the Horchata was amazing! The staff was very friendly and nice. I will definitely be coming back here.

Holy shit, where do i start. Place is clean first off, great hospitality, the girl at the counter came up halfway through our meal and asked if we would like more tortillas free of charge. I ordered a chili verde chimichanga for 7.95 and the thing was a monster. Perfectly fried to a nice light golden brown and tasted like heaven. My girl got a chili verde platter and that was massive and out of control good as well. You can tell they don’t half ass there chili verde. They actually simmer the pork in the sauce for at least an hour so the flavors are through the pork. Not just tossing some green sauce in a pan with some pork for every order. Great salsas with all you can eat chips for free. And if your a horchata fan… All you can drink and its good stuff, not watered down a bit. I will be coming here for the rest of my life!

Had the chile verde super burrito and was underwhelmed. Not much flavor. My wife ordered the enchiladas and said the sauce was more like tomato sauce than the traditional red enchilada sauce.

Only in San Jose for 2 weeks but man am I glad Unilocal help me find this place. Went in hoping to get some menudo but they only serve it on Saturday and Sunday. Guess I’ll be back Saturday and Sunday and about 6 more times before I head back to Florida. I had an alcoholic drink called a Chavela, a super taco, and a Caldo de Res soup. All outstanding!

I was very disappointed with this place. I got a vegan burrito(basically with veggies, rice, and pinto beans, and sauce) and it was the worst burrito I’ve ever eaten. It seemed like they chopped up veggies previously and put the junk left over from the veggies into my burrito. It literally had pieces of broccoli stalk, not even the actual broccoli, and tomato core left overs. My husband got a breakfast burrito and couldn’t finish it because it tasted so mediocre. This place also uses lard to cook their refried beans(at least the cashier was honest about that). Never going to this place again!

How do I describe this place?! It looks similar to an «order at the counter» Mexican joint but it’s totally different. The place is super clean, the guys working are super friendly and the food is light, fresh, and full of flavor. Even the salsa bar is new and interesting. I’m not usually a combo guy but you should do it because even the rice and beans are that good. Enjoy!

Taqueria El Ranchito is my friend’s local go-to Mexican food in SJ. Being a noted and avid lover of Mexican food, I was down when he said this place had some pretty good breakfast burritos. Pretty solid carne asada and al pastor, although it doesn’t compare to San Diego’s Mexican food scene whatsoever. And what the hell is up with putting beans in my breakfast burrito when I SPECIFICALLY said I didn’t want beans in my breakfast burrito. Seriously man…

Went to lunch with my friend. Great salsa bar, grilled jalapenos, 3 types of salsa, pico, pickled spicy veggies, chips… excellent. Got 3 tacos, one bbq chicken reg soft(nice spice to it, delicious), one super taco pastor(wow loaded with toppings and great flavor), and one hard shell taco asada — loaded with toppings and meat. My friend got a sopes(good sized, loaded) and a torta. Drinks — bottle of coke, jarritos orange for my buddy Affordable and delicious.

I ate there yesterday, and yes, this place is legit. The staff was really nice, the place was clean, and my dinner, all of it, was really delicious and beautifully prepared! And yes, it has the best chips and salsa bar of any of the taquerias I have eaten at lately, and I have been eating at quite a few lately. And I may be returning here today, come to think of it.

I ordered the #2 enchilada and taco plate. Asked for cheese enchilada and beef crispy taco. They took a very long time to cook them so I was hoping they would be good and fresh, this was not the case. The meat was dry and had an odd taste to it, I was afraid to eat it. The enchilada was not hot at all, the red sauce tasted like it was straight from a can. The guacamole and sour cream were so thin and runny I could not even scrape it off the lettuce. Needless to say I do not recommend you visit this place. I’d rather have taco bell, at least it would be edible.

Ordered a burrito with chicken to go. Got it home and found it filled with dry and old ingredients. Beans were dry. Rice was dry. The chicken was obviously heated and reheated multiple times: it was like pork rinds and not chicken. Is this restaurant reusing its proteins? My chicken was dry, lacked any juiciness, and made the entire burrito inedible. I had to throw it away. Go elsewhere.

Beware they close when they want to close. Time on Unilocal said 10 but got there at 9:05 and they said they were closed. Sign in the window even says they close at 9:30. No integrity.

This place is legit! I kept it simple and just ordered a plate with two tacos, beans and rice. The al pastor had the perfect spice kick and the little pieces of pork seemed to have this awesome crispiness that I just found extremely pleasing. The lengua was perfectly tender and moist and came topped with a great tangy spicy green sauce. Overall, just based on the tacos alone, I know I’ll keep coming back to this place! Extra points for having one of the best salsa bars of any of the local taquerias. You’ll find two different spicy red salsas, pics de gallo, green salsa, a mixed green salsa and avocado sauce, radishes, limes and that pickled jalapeño and veggie mixture that is common at taquerias. Chips are also free and you can basically help yourself to as much as you want. I already can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu. Seeing as this place is right across the street from Target, this may become a new weekend tradition. I’m a fan!

Ultimamente e mirado mejoras en este lugar, con unas enchiladas y unos wet burritos rojos muy ricos y es la mejor salsa para enchiladas y los molcajetes con camaron pollo, asado, chorizo, un bistek y la salsa especial los recomiendo

My boyfriend and I go to La Victoria’s because when you move to San Jose it’s all the hype. Let’s face it, the horrible line, setting and miserable parking really arnt worth that Orange sauce. So, We decided to venture out to find a new taqueria. Glad we did! It was so nice to park and walk right in, I was able to hear the young lady at the register for a change. She was so friendly and helpful which is a huge plus in the good industry! The food was great, full of flavor. I’m really picky about meat, so I usually order well done to avoid and fatty or chewy pieces, but no need! Not a single bite was disappointing. But wait for it. … they have real chips! They make their own chips and have a salsa bar! You mean I don’t have to pay extra for Costco chips? This in itself is worth the switch! Thank you!
