Excellet tacos! The best I’ve had in the area for a long time. Their salsa bar has some of the tastiest salsas I’ve encountered as well. Lunch can be busy, but it’s somewhat tucked away location has kept this gem partially hidden and free of hipsters. This has become my go to place for tacos.

This is literally a hole in the wall, walk up to the counter taqueria located in a small strip mall behind the nicer strip mall on Union. The place was packed at lunch time and it was a few minutes to get a seat, but the food was really good — fresh and tasty. They have a nice little salsa bar with a bunch of choices and give out a tray of chips with your meal. Looks pretty clean and the lady working the counter was very sweet.

I love mexican food and I really love hole in the wall. just like this one! We came early on Sunday morning after church and they were just open. Menu is pretty large and they have specials(guessing it changes daily). We shared 3 tacos(plate, came with beans) with carnitas(pork), steak(carne asada) and al pastor(marinated pork), a small pozole(not that small actually! the bowl is about 6 inches in diameter about 4 inches deep), and mole poblano plate. Total bill was about $ 27 including tax, before tips and we had plenty of food(can easily feed 4 smaller stomach!). Chips were free and they had a salsa bar with pico de gallo, a couple different red salsa, orange sauce(peanut based) salsa and green salsa, sliced radishes, grilled serano peppers, pickled carrots-onions-jalapeño, chopped onions, cillantro. We loved the flavor of the salsa especially the orange one but none of the salsa was spicy so I mushed some of the grilled pepper into them to add extra heat. I love spice, so this may not be a good idea if you’re not an avid spicy eater. Tacos were EXCELLENT. The tortilla was freshly made, a bit chewy and delicious! The pastor was juicy and flavorful, my favorite among the three meat that we ordered. They were generous with the meat, you can easily make two tacos using the meat from one taco! Mole poblano was on the sweeter side and had a strong spice/herb flavor. not sure what spices, a bit different than the mole I tried before but chicken was also flavorful and juicy. It seemed they grilled the chicken separately and poured the mole sauce over the meat. Mole plate came with rice and beans. Pozole was hearty with both pork and chicken meat. Loved the crunch from the cabbage and onions. I’ve had better pozole but theirs was pretty good, especially on a rainy day. It came with about 4 freshly made tortilla. Will certainly come back and try different dishes. Recommend this place for cheap eats and if you want that FRESHLY made tortilla! ps: they have homemade mexican juice. changed daily… when we were there there was coconut, cantaloupe and pineapple juice. We didn’t try but they looked very refreshing.

Tried a large variety of items from the menu and all have been excellent. Four stars across the board! Super friendly staff. Also, this location seems to be better than the other one.

Very disappointed. The carnitas were very fatty and tasteless. The chicken in the fajitas were unseasoned. Bagged chips. Don’t go here!

While I’m not a huge fan of mole since I often find it too sweet, the mole here was enjoyable. The chicken was nice and tender too! The restaurant itself is small but clean and brightly decorated. Service was fast and friendly.

Stopped by for lunch the other day. Nice, quick lunch place. The coconut aqua fresca they had that day was great. Nice pleasant staff.

I was so excited to try this place… I have heard really good things about it. So I finally took my family and went. The place is very small. but has a good vibe, the people were friendly, and the girl that took our order was very good in explaining the menu. I love Mole… so this being my first time here, I ordered the Chicken Mole plate The plate was a meager portion. it came with Pinto beans, and rice. Here is my critique… I felt that the mole sauce was very tasty, but a bit on the gritty side. what killed the dish for me, was that they use very bland boneless and skinless chicken breast meat that was chopped up in pieces. It looked like the chicken was simply boiled in water. In my opinion, if you are going to serve chicken mole, then be sure to add layers of flavor by putting the sauce over whole pieces of either stewed or roasted chicken. The chicken was somewhat dry, and the only thing that saved it was the fact it was smothered in Mole sauce. The pinto beans were very bland and looked very white?.. the rice was rice… cant really go wrong with it. I did like the little salsa bar/kiosk. there was some tasty salsa’s, but they really skimp on the chips. I suppose I could have asked for more, but I didn’t. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back. It wasn’t a bad meal, but it didn’t impress me either. I have had better mole at other places.

Wow! This was my first time eating at Tu Mero Mole and it will not be my last. I ordered the Cabrito Jalisco(Shredded Goat) and it was magnificent. I’m a fan of goat but have been struggling to find a place that can do it justice. The meat was cooked in a red sauce and it was tender, delicious, and not most importantly not gamy. I was pleasantly surprised that all of the salsas offered were so tasty. The homemade corn tortillas and the melon agua fresca were also equally as delicious as the cabrito. I can’t wait to go back and try another dish.

Ordered two tacos to go and the tacos were plain not even salsa could save this grotesque meat with a lot of fat on it. when I asked for chips and salsa one of the employes just pointed to the salsa bar and gave me no container I guess I was supposed to just dump the salsa into the bag of chips not worth it way too pricey for mediocre comida waste of money

Here with 5 people late at night. The line was long but moved quickly. One dish is enough but I ordered two taco dishes because I wanted to try them. I got the tacos Pasteur and the fish tacos. Both were delicious and authentic. I wish I lived closer. I would make this a regular stop.

Nope! Here’s why… Seriously overpriced($ 20 for two take-out burritos) Unfriendly service. Our burritos came out and when we tried to grab them the lady rudely said they weren’t ours and made us wait. Turns out, they were ours. Ugh. Really, really, really bland burritos. They don’t use quality ingredients, everything was greasy(not in a good way) and there was no flavor. Will not be back — expensive meal for nothing special.

This place was crackin’ on Friday night! With all the great reviews and abundance of guests we were expected to be highly impressed by the food, but sadly were not. Maybe the bf and I ordered the wrong things? I got the Fish Tacos while the bf got the Carne Asada and Shrimp Fajitas. It came with tortilla chips and unlimited salsa. There were quite a few different kinds of salsa to choose from. Try them all to see what you like! I really liked the only chunky one that they have. My fish tacos were kind of plain. The breading on the fish was soggy by the time we got home. I tried switching out the corn tortillas for flour, but they didn’t have the option. I dislike corn tortillas because they’re always so dry to me. The bf thought his fajitas were a-ok. They also lacked in flavor. The rice, however, did stand out. Yum! This restaurant is very small. Not a good idea for large groups. We got our order to-go and waited outside because there was no where to stand inside. It was highly entertaining sitting outside though, the patrons at the Nowhere Bar and Grill are a hoot! If I ever come back, I’ll stick to what other Unilocalers enjoyed!

Small hole in the wall Mexican food place. It can get pretty busy during the lunch hour. I ordered a #21, which is a marinated tender pork burrito. By default, it comes pretty spicy so be wary of that. The inside had a ton of spicy sauce so it was just all red and dark. If you really like spicy foods, you’ll enjoy it. I prefer them going lighter on the spicy sauce so that we can customize it with the self-serve sauces they have on the side. Nevertheless, the burrito was really moist and the pork was definitely tender and cooked well, but not overdone. There was also rice and beans that came with the burrito, but nothing more. They have free chips on the side, that are too rough/hard for my taste. The self serve sauce station is pretty complete with just about everything you need. Pico de gallo, hot sauce, medium, etc. They also have cilantro, limes, diced onions, jabanero peppers, etc. It’s nice that they bring out your food, I prefer a self serve water station instead of having to ask them for water. The lady at the register was great in that she played a double role and checked up on the customers once in awhile!

Almost five years later since my first Tu Mero Mole meal, and I still eat here quite often. The service has gotten better, and the food is always consistent; not such an easy task for any business. I’ve seen a few people knock stars for the small space, they would expand if they could, trust me. The food is priced well, $ 10 for a super burrito may seem a bit more than expected, but its quality, and well worth it. My favorite dishes are the chipotle enchiladas, the super burrito, carne asada, the taco salad, and anything with shrimp in it, but especially the vera cruzana. I take it to go because so many Unilocalers go here. but the quality to go is every bit as good as in person. Where else can you get home made tortillas Grandma’s recipe? Oh yea, try the tortilla soup!

After finding seeing all of the great reviews, I decided to come here for dinner. And for the most part, I was very impressed! The food was delicious and flavorful. I ordered 3 fish tacos and my boyfriend ordered chile verde. It also was a plus that they had a salsa bar and free chips with our order. The only downside was that the portions could have been bigger(particularly for the chile verde, which seemed to have more sauce than meat). But overall, this place was wonderful and I would definitely come back!

My chicken nachos were delicious! It came loaded with the basics and the fixings from their salsa bar just tops it. Portions were very filling and generous for $ 9. My BF also liked his tacos very much. Their food is a bit Americanized, but just Americanized enough. It seemed kinda healthy and not overly greasy or heavy.

Wow!!! I was craving authentic Mexican food. Is that too much to ask for? I decided to try this place. I went on a Friday, around 5pm. The owner was very friendly. We ordered three shrimp tacos, two chorizo gorditas, and Chile Verde plate for my fiancé. They make the tortillas there, my fiancé loved them. It began to get extremely busy and the place is fairly small. Around thirty people came in to order or pick up their food while we were eating. The food was great and delicious. I had the agua de melon. Which is made of cantaloupe juice. I really enjoyed the food.

What a surprise! This restaurant is really close to my office and I regret I hadn’t tried it before! It’s a small, family restaurant, proposing very fresh genuine authentic Mexican food. Their dishes are very well spiced, very tasty. The meat is so tender and well seasoned, melting in your mouth. Sauces are very sparkly and super fresh. It looks and taste like home-made food. I love it. The Mole was exceptional! The Mole sauce was so good, dark chocolate, spicy as it should be. Very friendly staff!

I must update my review & say this small Mexican restaurant is a 5 star in my book. Super friendly, small but well decorated, clean, fast, fresh, and killer food. The tacos here are to die for! I love the soft pastor tacos… Fresh tortillas, tender & flavorful meat. They are the best in every way!!! I love you tu mero mole pastor tacos! They have complimentary fresh tortilla chips and a salsa bar to choose from. As well, they offer a variety of fresh juices, and beer.
