How do we get here? They don’t have address or phone number on here. I wanna try it one of these days. I hope somebody here on Unilocal reply and tell us the close landmark where this truck can be found if they still exist

What the hell happened? The Wow Truck went from overpriced Filipino food to overpriced food served by Fil-Ams. Whatever authentic presentation this place had is now gone. They don’t do the banana leaf thing anymore, and I don’t even know if the rice is garlic rice because I can’t taste it. They’ve pretty much made it so all you can order out of hunger is a Loco Moco, which is pretty much any one of their silogs with gravy thrown on top. Every food item somehow tastes worse than what I remember except the corned beef. The corned beef is still good, but since that’s the case — it also sells out first. Also what’s with the sudden infatuation of the burrito? The Bomb Burrito is nothing to write home about, especially when the rice is unseasoned. Only way to add flavor to the burrito is with their orange sauce that doesn’t even taste that great. They’re also not around much in the areas I inhabit anymore. Sad.

Seriously what the hell did I just eat? That burrito was ridiculously amazing! Great food truck with typical filipino food ingredients. I had this packed burrito stuffed with beef, longonisa, garlic rice, eggs, spam, orange sauce and who knows what else. You wrap this in a tortilla you easily have one of the best burritos of all time. What a surprise this was. I didn’t wanna share after I had the first bite of this precious gift. WOW is the right now for this truck. Recommendation: Get the burrito with everything in it.

Finally got the chance to eat WOW truck after following them on twitter for some time. Walking up to the truck, I was first greeted with a friendly«sup boss!», which was awesome! It didn’t take too long to decide what to order and I ultimately got the corned beef silog, which was $ 8. I wanted for about 2 minutes since there weren’t that much people in front of me and as the guy called out my name, I rushed quickly to the truck and grabbed my meal. It is comfort food at its greatest, with rice covered with a sunny side egg and the corned beef was flavorful and had a slight kick in it. Great food truck.

Maybe I ordered the wrong item since everyone else seems to be having a great experience with them. I ordered the Longanisa burrito for $ 7.50 which consisted of a pork sausage link, garlic rice, egg, and special secret sauce. The pork sausage isn’t the typical American or European sausage we all know and love. It reminds me more of the Chinese sausage(pronounced Lap Cheong in Cantonese) and it’s one of the items I hate eating when my parents are too lazy to cook anything else. The pork sausage doesn’t have much taste and either does the garlic rice. The special sauce didn’t add much either. With so little flavor, the only thing I tasted was the tortilla! I’ll have to try out one of their other items like a rice plate but for now, I give it two thumbs down.

I love silogs. I follow the WOW truck on twitter just I can see if they’re coming to my area. Usually the truck is in San Jose which is a bit of a drive for me. When they’re further up the peninsula, you know I’m there. I’ve gotten silogs from a couple other trucks. WOW’s portions and flavor are better. I’ve gotten great customer service as well. I’m don’t like the burritos as much as the traditional silogs though. Get a «Double Down» with two meats and share it with a friend(or not if you’ve got a big appetite)! The beef tapa is nom nom noms.

I owed my boss lunch and it was a busy day so we decided to stay near the office. We embarked on foot for what we thought was a seafood truck in the office parking lot, but were instead surprised to find a Filipino BBQ one instead. No matter, the food sounded good and reasonably priced so it was definitely on the menu. I ordered a pork sausage burrito which was loaded with garlic fried rice and egg, all for $ 7.50. It was a little stubby, but the ingredients were flavorful. I especially loved the fried rice part of it, which wasn’t at all dry, and more of a sticky rice texture. Tasty and would definitely get it again. Service was nice and quick and our lunch was made to order. It’s a truck, so your dog is obviously welcome to come hang out if they happened to join you for work. I have no idea what half of the stuff I ate was called, but whatever it is, I enjoyed it! Food: 7⁄10 Service: 8⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 7⁄10

I had a chance to try their corned beef taco the other night which i found it to be okay. Nothing memorable for me. For $ 4 dollars, the portions we’re huge, i felt like i was eating a burrito at one point. The taco comes with garlic rice, beef, tomato, and an egg. I wish my taco had more sauce, it lacked that kick of flavor. I was a bit disappointed after the many positive reviews from friends about this truck. I’d definitely give them another shot and try their rice plates/bomb burritos next time!

Oakland’s Eat Real festival offered a variety of tasty treats, but I think my favorite bite came from the Wow Truck. There was always a line for the truck, and deservedly so – the silog sushi bites were mighty tasty. The sushi bite had garlic fried rice wrapped around crispy tofu and topped with a runny quail egg and sprinkles of seaweed. The flavors were bold, but still light – the rich egg flavor really accentuated the subtle hint of garlic. I also sampled the turon – a fried roll of banana. It was the perfect sweet treat that complemented the rich, savory sushi bite. The wrapper was fried nice and crispy – though a bit greasy – and didn’t overpower the banana inside. I wish I had tried more of the menu from the Wow Truck at the Eat Real festival but my stomach was already dangerously full – not to mention their menu was quickly shrinking as they sold out of dish after dish.(Still bummed I missed out on their lumpia!) But next time I’m at a food truck gathering up north, I’ll definitely make the Wow Truck my first stop and leave room to sample more of their menu. They’re totally worth the wait.

WOW! I didn’t realize Wow truck’s menu was Filipino? I thought their menu was more in the vietnamese food because of the broken rice and beef stew. But it doesn’t matter because their food is GOOD. Its actually refreshing to try new food trucks especially since my brother and I were sick of trying the same ones at Off the Grid Haight & Fort Mason *ahem chairman bao* We ordered the beef stew and broken rice dish and the owners gave us free shrimp rolls on the house. That was really nice of them! My brother was even the first one to try the owner’s cell phone app for credit cards. I guess we really had trust in them! Lol. Beef stew– AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. The stew was tasty. Taste like what my mom would make at home. The beef was tender Broken rice with fried egg and chicken — Chicken was flavorful and wasn’t dry. And if there’s an egg then it gotta be good! Thanks Wow!

WOW Silog Truck is a very popular filipino food truck. expect lines and shortages amongs offerings.(yep. they’re that popular). silog basically means adding garlic fried rice and a fried egg to any choosen meat item. thus, hotdog silog is hot dog + fried egg & garlic fried rice in a wrap. menu: turon(banane), lumpia(1.5) sushi bites(½.5), silog tacos(4.5) locale: eat real festival 2011(9⁄24) sampling: silog taco(4.5) –garlic fried rice(didn’t taste garlic) –niman beef –fried egg –average sized. tasted average foodnotes: –sushi bites looked like a single piece consisting of garlic rice & seaweed. –lumpia was popular and out by the late afternoon. –long lines. orders came out fast after order taken –believed quality affected by whole day event.

Some people say that when you eat something good after you’ve already filled up it doesn’t taste as good as if you were hungry. Those people who think that way have never tried the WOW Silog Truck! This was stop number 5 for me at this afternoon’s Day 1 of the 2011 Eat Real Festival and I seriously wanted more. Maybe I’m thankful they sold out of their lumpia to the Oakland lunch time crowd, but I’m so glad I got to taste their Silog Taco. Simply put it was an explosion of flavor in my mouth, and afterward all I could say was«Wow!» Presented beautifully on a banana leaf is a 6 inch soft flour tortilla piled with flavorful garlic fried rice, chopped up cubes of Niman Ranch beef, a mix of fresh veggies including chopped jalapeño, cilantro, tomatoes and crunchy white onions, then finished with a perfectly fried egg(runny yolk and all), more fried garlic and some WOW special sauce( ). Only $ 4.50 each and so delicious! Had this been one of the first things I’d tried I might have just ordered three and called it a day! So glad there are 2 more days of the 2011 Eat Real Festival!( ) ~ Wow! Just Wow!

I came to this truck at OTG san mateo and after an hour i said to myself WOW i wasted an hour waiting for this food. Ordered the longanisa burrito and a corn beef taco. The corn beef taco was unique because I’ve never had a taco with an egg on it. the taco was too spicy for me and also the sriracha sauce overpowered everything. The taco was also cold when I got it. My friend and I ended up sharing the longanisa burrito and it was probably the tiniest burrito I’ve ever seen. There was barely any ingredients even inside the burrito. The longanisa was too sweet, they should’ve at least filled up the burrito was some rice. I don’t think i’ll ever be coming back. I’m not sure why people even lined up, but I won’t be tricked twice!!! at least not at this place.

Not bad! I actually didn’t get to see this truck when it came to my company, but my coworker was kind enough to get me lunch from here. Got the spam silog… Spam was a bit too salty, rice a bit undercooked, but overall tasty. For the simplicity and the price and overall satisfaction of the meal, I would gladly get this again. I like the over-easy/medium egg over rice. There was a garlic aroma to the rice, but no strong garlic-y flavor… at lunch time at work, I appreciate that there isn’t overpowering garlic in my meal… I think my coworkers appreciate it too. Spam, you’re beginning to grow on me…

I remember sitting on my laptop on Black Friday and somehow I stumbled across the WOW truck’s brand new Facebook(probably via Treatbot’s), and everything looked and sounded very good. Here it is, July, and I’m finally trying the truck. Overall, I felt like it was good but not great. Maybe I screwed myself by not getting the much-raved-about corned beef, or the burrito. I think I got a beef silog and a chicken silog. But, what I was most disappointed in was the rice. I *LOVE* garlic fried rice, and when done right I could eat mounds of it. I did not taste much garlic in their rice, and it wasn’t very well cooked I thought. Very wet. The beef and the chicken was also lacking in flavor and texture. It all tasted kind of bland and rubbery. :( I like the concept though — rice, egg, meat. My Mom said it was like a Loco moco. Also, the turon desert thing, fried banana with caramelized sugar… Waste of money and calories consumed. Not very banana-y, and overally just not very good. Like many trucks, though, I am willing to go back and try something new. Good thing about street food is that the menu is always changing, there is usually always something new to try, and sometimes, they are just having an off night. Since I like the concept, I will be back.

While driving to the SO’s place of work for lunch, I always check out what’s across the street in terms of food trucks. I only have a split second to take a peek since the truck is always parked on the far end of the parking lot. Today, I saw a «W» and recognized the font + color of the truck and immediately knew what we were going to have for lunch. For $ 6 you can get 1 scoop of rice, 1 egg, 1 tomato slice, and 1 choice of meat. For $ 10 you can get double of everything. So we decided on the $ 10 option which is #6 on the menu. We got longanisa and corned beef hash for our meat options. By getting this combo, we saved 3 bucks and a container for food. Sweet! The longanisa was cooked very well. It wasn’t tough as it sometimes can be. The corn beef hash was really really good as it had chopped spicy red peppers in it. I’ve never had it was the peppers so it was a nice surprise. The chicken tocino taco was awesome, too! It was super filling and the sriracha sauce brought everything together well. This is definitely not your dollar taco… it can be a meal! The only downside to the food was that it’s a bit on the greasy side. and on a warm day. it’s not so awesome to see the grease you’re consuming as you’re almost sweating in the heat. I will definitely be back for more of the tacos and the longsilog!

I think I really liked this place because of its name. The food here is good but I feel I’ve had much better filipino food elsewhere. The garlic rice wasn’t as garlic-y as I hoped. The presentation of the food was really cute on how it was served in a leaf. I just felt it wasn’t enough for $ 6. The food wasn’t bad but I expected a lot more out of this place. If this place came back in my area though, I’d still be willing to go again. I just wouldn’t go out of my way for it. The prices are decent enough too so I wouldn’t hesitate coming back here.

«Is turkey… like bacon?» «Is pork… like red meat?» WOWWWWWREALLY??? Yesterday, 4.22.11, one of my friends and I were waiting in line at the WOW Silog Truck at SF’s Off The Grid — Fort Mason when the aforementioned dialogue took place between a couple in back of us. The woman’s comments left us completely speechless with an endless giggle session afterwards. She must have been having one of Jessica Simpson’s Blonde«Chicken of the Sea» Moments. :X But anyhow… Although my Filipino gene got lost in the Lee Kum Kee gene pool, I love and enjoy the bold and rich flavors of Filipino food. The WST menu’s emphasis is on Silog, a Filipino breakfast of garlic fried rice, topped with an over-easy egg(s) and your choice of sweet or salty meats. They also have several other menu items like Filipino Fusion tacos, Turon(banana lumpia) and Fresh Coconut Water. WST has 5 types of Silogs: 1. Longanisa(LongSilog — $ 6): Sweet Sausage 2. Tocino(Chicken ToSilog -$ 6): Sweetened Cured Chicken 3. Tapa(TapSilog — $ 6): Cured Beef 4. Spam(SpamSilog — $ 6) 5. Corned Beef(Corn BeefSilog — $ 7) Each Silog order is laid on top a vibrant green steamed banana leaf with a scoop of garlic rice topped with an over-easy egg, the above meat of your choice and 2 slices of tomatoes. Make sure to ask for a small container of vinegar – TRUSTME! I ordered the CORNBEEFSILOG as recommended by other Unilocalers and although all components weren’t perfectly executed, I was pleasantly surprised at the bold flavors especially when most Asian Fusion food trucks dumb-down their flavors in order to appeal to the general public. The tender corn beef was sauteed with onions and other spices creating a BOLD savory saltiness with a fiery kick to it. The over-easy egg was PERFECTLY cooked with a runny yolk that oozed out rick, thick and creamy goodness when I punctured it. Being able to cook rice properly is quintessential to Asian cooking and the garlic rice did NOT fair well. Aside from being dry and stale, the garlic rice had no garlic flavor whatsoever and had a slightly burnt taste. This is where the vinegar came in handy adding moisture and an acidic punch to the flavorless rice while balancing the richness from the corn beef and egg. Fyi, my friend ordered the TapSilog and the beef was very a bit on the dry side and bland. It lacked the salty, vinegary, peppery and garlicky flavors that authentic Tapa has, so order go with the recommendation of all us Unilocalers and order the Corn BeefSilog! Don’t forget to also order the Young Fresh Coconut Water because they are the PERFECT hangover cure! With my disintegrating liver along with numerous mornings waking up thinking, «WTH happened last night!!!»…BELIEVEME, ITWORKS!

I tagged teamed the SJ Eats event with another friend. As I waited in another line, my friend waited in the line for The WOW Silog Truck. Initially, I didn’t understand why my friend even bothered standing in their line, because I thought they served Hawaiian food and I’m not a fan of Hawaiian food. Much to my surprise, I actually enjoyed the #5 corned beefsilog( ) that my friend got me. Maybe because it’s technically considered Filipino cuisine, not Hawaiian. Well in any case, the food was delicious! The shredded beef and garlic-infused rice were out of this world! I really wish they served larger portions and I wish I had known it would have tasted as good as it did, I would have ordered two orders all to myself! I do not know who started this mobile-food trend, but it’s spreading like a wild fire. I am still amazed at the quality of food that has been produced by many of these catering trucks. The WOW Silog Truck is only one of them! With all that being said… I have to go track them down for some dinner! Bön appetit!

«Wow» forreal, this is a wonderful truck! $ 6 for rice, meat, an egg, and a tomato… what more could you ask for? Anyone craving a Filipino style breakfast should definitely stop by the Wow Truck! My husband and I came here during their«soft» opening on November 20. Even though we came after they were technically closed, they still cooked us up some grub. I had the chicken tosilog and hubby had the corned beefsilog. They were both wonderful, yummy tasting and beautifully presented on a bed of banana leaf. They even gave us some vinegar to dip our meat in(and being hardcore Filipino, you know we drank that stuff… yum!). They also sell TURON!!! And I know first hand(because the Demison owners say so) that the Wow learned their turon ways from Demison! So hell yes to that! Please come out more often, Wow Truck! I’m getting tired of cooking :)
