It’s nice that there’s a little neighborhood bar tucked away here. There aren’t a lot of options around this neighborhood(considering Whole Foods closes at 11) so it’s cool that there is some place within walking distance. The bar itself is pretty clean and spacious inside. I went on a weekday though so no clue how busy it can be on weekends. Drinks were like what you would expect from a dive bar, nothing too fancy. I’d probably just come by for beers. The service was the only questionable thing here. Bartender seemed to be in a bad mood, but was still attentive to our needs. But overall, not bad and glad I found this place.

Beer was great, Tiffany was having a bad night or simmering. The scowls & ignoring my honey and I… Needless to say there was little tipping. Like the great Billy Crystal says — no smile no tip. Maybe next time we’ll stay for another shot? But that’s if she looks our way… Thanks for nothing Tiffany. Hope you have a better time.

I’m so sad, the kitchen is being remodeled so it’s not open and there’s no food. I really do wanna come back and try the food though when it reopens. I just wish they would have put something on their website or put some info somewhere that they aren’t serving anything but hotdogs right now. May have made another choice for my day. Oh well!

Tony P’s is a great neighborhood dive bar. The drinks are reasonably priced. Service/bartenders are really friendly and nice. The customers are good to talk to. Favorite neighborhood bar in town!

My friend introduced me to this little hide out! I have introduced several people to it since. Our bartender Paolo is treats us good! It’s definitely a «chill» place to hang out.

The service here was TERRIBLE. Waitress, Bartender AND owner had NOCUSTOMERSERVICESKILLS. They were rude and unfriendly. Food took over 30 minutes to come.

First time visiting Tony P’s this past weekend. Great time enjoyed the atmosphere, was impressed with the décor and general non-bar smell. I had two beers between 9PM and 2AM(both consumed within the first hour then switched to water) since I was going to drive home. When it was time to go… we were approached by a young thug looking man with tattoos and an attitude who claimed to be security. He walked up to my husband who just ordered his last beer and said«get the fxxk out». This security guard also harassed a few other patrons sitting in the same area we were who ordered their last drink of the night. WARNING: if you’re going to drink here leave before 2AM. I was offended that I was disrespected after we spent good money. There are plenty of other bars that have a better approach to tell you when it’s time to go. Sorry Tony P’s it was the first and last time I will be drinking at your establishment, your security guard needs to learn some manners especially when talking to your customers.

Great neighborhood bar, it’s like a modern version of cheers where everyone knows your name. Regulars are friendly and welcoming, definitely a hidden gem in San Jose.

Couldn’t find me an Angry Orchard, but this place fit the bill when I needed a drink close to my hotel, the Arena. Clean, lots of TVs with all the sports channels dialed in, and a decent food menu if you need some chow.

My first time here! I stopped by for a quick beer before a Sharks game and ended up getting food too! Good service(from bartender & server Tiffany), decent/average prices, and one of the best jalapeño burgers I’ve had in a long time. It tasted like they use high quality products with the food and Tiffany was more than accommodating and helpful. It’s a must stop every time I’m San Jose for a Sharks game!

I had the worst experience at this bar. I was visiting some friends from LA and we were having drinks. The security guy walked in and acted like a complete douche. We had just ordered another round of drinks and he didn’t even let us finish them. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. I’ll never go back. He was definitely on a power trip.

My favorite bar. This is coming from an alchy who’s been to them all. Bartenders are all real sweethearts, especially Monique. Tomy the regular bar back is a great guy. The regulars are regular people, not belligerent drunks or dirtbags(I got nothing against dirtbags or drunks, I go to jonny v’s and caravan a bit, different bars for different occasions). Pool table is in good condition(slight sloped to the left but barely any bars are perfectly balanced I’m just a perfectionist) and the two times I went their for early shark games i tries their food, not too shabby especially the Hawaiian burger). Try it out enjoy just don’t be a douche and ruin my little hole in the wall bar.

This is my favorite place is San Jose, that is not a golf course, to hangout. Great food. Tony P’s serves the best burger around. It is named after the owner, you guessed it, Tony P! When I say great food I am not talking about the lobster corn dogs at Arcadia. Michael Mina is not making a guest appearance in Tony’s kitchen anytime soon. I will tell you that Ramon, who cooks at Tony’s, kills it in the kitchen. Calamari steak is out of this world! His beans are unbelievably good(I had never been to a place where someone walks in and says«Give me an order of beans» until I sat down at Tony’s). Who makes good beans? Ramon does. His staples, mac salad, potato salad, all the soups, are excellent. My favorite side is the mac salad. Goes good with the Tony P’s burger. I can’t forget the steak sandwich-a must. Most of the time, I must admit I stick with the calamari steak or the Tony P. burger. The portions are big. Tony P. is a legend in San Jose. Born and raised here he has been a restauranteur in San Jose for 30 years. He is the consummate host always making everyone feel welcome, like they are at their home away from home. The crowd is a good mix of people who have lived in San Jose forever and people, young and old, from this up and coming neighborhood. My favorite place, Tony P’s. See you there soon!

The trick to reviewing a place like this is to «qualify» the category… This is a really good diner /dive bar /sports bar that is clean, neat, and safe to sit down in the bathroom! If you want Los Gatos fluff and pomp, then get off your«lounge» chair and go there… If you are looking to commune with the commoners that don’t care if you are driving a Tesla or showing off that Kate Spade handbag, then come on down and visit with the locals… Lunchtime: I had the French Dip special, which was perfect. Zero fat, tender, perfectly cooked and served with a winning au jus. The onion rings were awesome. My mate had the calamari steak plate, which was huge, not too thick, and very tasty. French fries didn’t have anything special going on but they were certainly good enough to eat, which we certainly did! No drinks this time around ’cause we had to back to work… I’d go back!
