The food is very tasty, plentiful, and the prices are okay… …that is, if you’re charged for what you order. I ordered a shawarma wrap and the picture said it came with fries. They charged me for that meal, but only gave me a wrap. When I pointed out that my dish was without fries, they said they charged me for just the wrap, when they did not. Then they offered to give me fries for the side dish price($ 2.49). The service leaves a lot to be desired.

Absolutely terrible service, overpriced drinks, and the server woman was too pushy and unprofessional constantly stressing about how«fresh» the tea was. I mean it was difficult enough having to comprehend her terrible English but we didn’t care about how supposedly«fresh» they make their tea we cared about a good service with a smile and interest in her job which she did NOT demonstrate because it took about 15 minutes until we got our drinks. Their was no business too(not to our surprise) so their was no excuse as to why her overweight self took forever. Lastly a few tables were filthy around where we sat and only did we see the management or proprietor walked out did the waitress who«served» us came out to clean it as if she only does so when the boss is watching… really? Do NOT come here.

Came here because the hummus place next door was packed. The atmosphere is very hipster-ish. The food itself isn’t that great, although it really depends on what you order. Large, salty, or burned dishes aren’t very appetizing.

You know I’ve been in San Jose State for more than I’m proud to admit. I was here back when this little forgotten establishment was known as Tapioca Express — the horrible location took its toll on its business, especially during school breaks. The place got bought out and became Fusion Café, I could swear it was something else after that, but nothing in this location ever lasted more than a year. Now this place is University Café. While they have some okay deals(freebies at certain times with purchase) the overall quality of this place does not justify the price, I honestly rather walk across campus to the rivaling milk tea joints for better food at the same price. The snacks here are the usual choice found in an Asian-inspired snack bar — pop corn chicken, teriyaki, boiled eggs, etc. While the snacks are enjoyable, the drinks leave much to be desired. Unless you want to drink a cup of water with a cloud of powder, I’d suggest gulping your drink in 5 minutes. The milk tea here is very watered down, not to mention powdery. It could be said that asides from offering good food and a good environment, a good business should be operated by an honest business person. I’m here to inform you that regardless of the relaxed atmosphere, okay food and tolerable prices this place operates quite dishonestly. A couple of weeks ago, my peers and I decided to make a joint effort with this place through a fundraiser — one could say we bent over backwards to meet the demands of the owner so he would agree. Normally we wouldn’t have done this, but many of us were already regulars so we really wanted to give it a chance. Finally when an agreement was reached, we announced it to our friends. Everything was looking great until we are greeted by tape and paper reflecting new higher prices effective on the very first day of our fundraiser event. We were not told about any upcoming changes — as a well meaning business owner would have — but rather we had to keep our part of the deal and promote this joint to our friends All we can say is none of us will be coming back due to the dishonest business practice by the owner, and we hope other people conducting fundraisers learn from our bad experience with the service. For others who don’t mind paying $ 10 for a small bag of popcorn chicken and diluted milk tea, then step right in! If you’re lucky, they’ll charge you a sit-in fee as well.

Just tried this spot for the first time and it was pretty good and prices were decent. Had the matcha green milk tea and it was solid. I also tried the chicken teriyaki and it was surprisingly good, especially for the price. The owners were really nice and they recently added breakfast to the menu apparently. I will be back to try some of the other items.

I’ve passed this place a million times and finally decided to give it a try. The place is small but looks clean. I got the bento box with teriyaki chicken, rice, and pot stickers. The teriyaki chicken was salty and sweet. The rice was hard and dry so I know it wasn’t fresh. The pot stickers were salty. I wouldn’t go back for the food but maybe try some of their drinks.

This place has gone by a few different names over the years, but I am so happy that it is still here. The milk tea is pretty good, but I actually like to get the regular black tea. It is slightly sweet, but still has that bitter taste of the actual tea. I also got an earl grey milk tea which was great. It actually tasted like earl grey tea, which most other milk tea places just taste like sugar water. I think the best thing about this place is the food. I usually get a bento box, but on this occasion my friend and I got the fried tofu plate and the chicken curry plate. Both were great! It isn’t very expensive, which is great because college students don’t have a lot of money, so that was a plus. You also get huge portions for the price you pay. Perfect! Each plate comes with black or green tea so what a great deal. They have great friendly employees and a great menu. The only critique I would have is that they close way too early. Maybe I am just spoiled because most places are now open relatively late, but this place closes at like 8. What happens if I want a late night milk tea? I can’t go here, even though it is a great place to go.

The chocolate milk tea with tapioca is awesome! The Thai tea is good too. I also tried the food the next time I went. I got the crispy chicken rice plate and it was good but I didn’t really care for the tea egg or marinated tofu… I don’t think it was anything that they did in preparation it just wasn’t my thing. Overall I would recommend it to anyone! I especially recommend it to my fellow Spartans since we have to go to the Maple Press print shop next door for some classes, so you may as well stop in for a drink or something. :)

Milk tea was not good at all. My rose milk tea was just rose syrup mixed poorly into my milk tea. I heard people sitting across from me talk about how their drink did not taste like the flavor they ordered, which was true. It was like drinking milk tea. Also, another place where green tea matcha is not actually matcha but a flavored powder. WHY. I would rather make the journey over to either Hydration or Amor Café and Tea where their milk tea tastes a lot more real. Also they’re made naturally with relatively the same price on drinks.
