I think it’s time I update my review. After revisiting this place I realize they have the best kabob in the South Bay, hands down. The Koobideh which is my ultimate test is super flavorful & juicy. Cooked to perfection. Some places over cook or undercooked the Koobideh & it can be dry or have too much onion… Their recipe and cooking time is perfect. I love it. Service is great as usual, and they have a good selection on their menu. Very friendly staff. Only thing prices are a bit on the higher side.

We ate here and ordered Koobideh. Compared to Negeen Restaurant, this place is serving subpar food. The Koobideh was fatty and I think it didn’t have much meat in it. We like Persian food, but won’t go back to Yas due to the food quality. Price is also high with respect to quality.

Service can definitely improve. Food is good, prices run quite higher for similar quality elsewhere

We have been patronizing this restaurant for almost 18 years. Their food never fails on the consistent quality. My son and I AV been to several Persian restaurant and this one is the winner. I have recommended this place to others and everyone loved it, they always refer more. This is also an ideal place for small party for they have a nice, quiet & ambient setting. I have church fellows held their coworkers lunch/dinner for 22 – 35 people and they just enjoyed it so much. When we do party, the food can be served in family style. it is not only better value but more variety for everyone as well. This is probably one of my favourite places to enjoy a good meal locally!

This place is my all time favorite Persian restaurant! I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl with my family and the food still tastes the same. Often times I’ve gone to other Persian restaurants in the area and the food was dry, lacked flavor or was overly seasoned. At Yas they have good cuts of meat and poultry perfectly marinated and cooked to perfection! When I say perfect I mean melt in your mouth amazing, super juicy and full of flavor… The rice is fluffy too you can eat it by itself. The presentation is also impeccable. It is a must go spot don’t let the outside of the restaurant food you it is not in the best of locations but the inside is super clean and inviting.

Amazing Persian food! The best kabob I’ve had in a while. Equally good were all the stews and appetizers.

Today was my first experience with Yas. Although I have been in Bay Area, I had never came here. Pros: 1) Really delicious and juicy and aromatic kebabs. Especially their beef Adana Kebab is wonderful. I have been going several Turkish restaurants but I have to accept, Yas is much better about making Kebab. 2) very large menu. 3) Portion sizes are really big. For a$ 17 chicken&beef combo even 2 decent people can full. If you are a food monster, that combo plate will be your favorite 4) ambience of the restaurant is pretty nice. It’s not super big but not small as well. Cons: 1) I don’t think that they have any cons. Maybe the prices seen a bit higher than other Mediterranean places, but make sure their portion sizes are really big(Maybe double of some other places). Overall, I highly recommend Yas.

Yum yum yum DELICIOUS! Wow! Every dish we ordered was outstanding, moist, flavorful, and gobbled up by the 4 of us. The rice was so fluffy like a pillow. The kabobs were tender, moist, and perfect temp! My mother in-law had the falafels, hummus, and yogurt and loved it! We definitely will be coming back!

I absolutely am in love with this Persian restaurant. I grew up with a persian best friend in elementary school and the food here was almost identical to her mothers cooking. I loved their koobideh and chicken and their yogurt with cucumbers. I took a large amount of leftovers home since the plates are very largely portioned. I also love the intimate ambience of this restaurant. Will definitely be returning here soon!

BYFARTHEBESTPERSIANRESTAURANTINTHEBAYAREA! My family and I have been coming here since I was 3… 28 years later all and we still day dream about their extremely delicious food. Every special occasion we have we celebrate with a feast at Yas. FACT: I have actually traveled the world and have tried kebabs in different cities, states and countries and you can trust my word that Yas is on top level yumminess. INCONCLUSION: EATHERE! The rice is perfect and savory. The meats are juicy and mouth watering. Getting to the last bite is always sad because you wish you had more.

My friends wanted to try Iranian food, so we came here because of the ratings. We were seated and given water. However, it took about 5 minutes for us to get our menus. I ordered the yogurt with cucumber(mast-o-khiar) and Yas special(koobideh and chicken). The food came out pretty quickly. The mast-o-khiar here is really good! We ended up ordering two of them, because we finished the first one so fast. The koobideh wasn’t dry, but was a little fatty. The chicken was good and the rice was cooked well. I would come back.

Great place! The food, the atmosphere and the service is top notch! My buddy and I came here after working out, definitely felt out of place in the attires aspect, it was definitely a classier place than most family ran restaurants. The Specials are all filling and the portions are huge. My buddy and I, both got the chef special with lamb and chicken. The chicken was super flavorful and definitely a good dish to eat, the lamb itself was not as flavorful and bland, lacked a few spicies and flavors. Definitely would come back to this place to try other dishes, and next time definitely going to dress nicer :). Overall, awesome new restaurant down the street from my house! Great discovery.

So I know I’m in Silicon Valley and all that, but the great diversity of the patrons in this restaurant should be an indication of its food right? Well, yeah! The Barg kabob was made to order, medium with light touch of pink. Tender, wholesome and unbelievably delicious. The basmati rice was fluffy, light and plentiful. Service was friendly and attentive. Timing for food and checking back was well practiced, they know what they are doing folks! Ok so it’s a bit pricey. But not so much that it doesn’t make up in quality, service and quantity. I’m from SoCal, and I want to tell you, Persian cuisine in my part of the world, needs to take a trip north. I Will be back soon! Not with Arnold, but soon.

Omg this place is a gem! I have driven by thinking it looked too simple from the outside. But it’s some comfortable and luxurious inside. We were so lucky to walk in with only one other table there. While we ate the whole place filled up. I really liked their friendly, efficient and beautiful staff. It also was a very nice cross section of very nice clientele. A nice place to be. Oh wait that was all the«cake». The icing was the food! Yum! I had some amazing Persian food in LA many years ago with a Persian friend. This was a happy reminder of how good Persian food is. Incredible!

Yas has a nice atmosphere and nice food. I live right by the restaurant, and my housemates and I decided to go in to try it. I tried the Yas Special(#27) and thought it was pretty good. The meat is cooked very well and it’s very big portions, which is good because their food is expensive. The only problem with the meal overall was that it was a little dry, and their was no sauce to it at all. If I go back, I’ll probably make sure I try something with a sauce to it.

So we were craving for some Polo Zereshk and hence decided to come here. We got the rice with the Cornish game hen kabab. I really liked the kebab. It was tender and flavorful and tasted great with rice. The kebabs are individually priced and you could get it with special rice like Polo Zereshk with an additional price. We like our Polo Zereshk with kebab instead of the steamed chicken that it originally comes with. I really like Cornish game hen it’s much tastier than the chicken breasts that I get. It came to about 28 dollars including tip!

I’m always suspicious when I walk into a restaurant and only one table is seated; aren’t we all? Also the staff doesn’t look very middle eastern, again… wondering hmmm… Well no cause for alarm, because, with the exception of not having a lunch menu which offers lower priced options, Yas is worth the trip. Our server was very sweet and patient, and provided detailed descriptions of anything we were not familiar with. Surprised that I’d not heard of many of the dishes. Here’s what we shared: Mirza Ghasemi: 4.5 This delicately flavored lovely orange and yellow slurry contained smokey, roasted eggplant, tomatoes and soft scrambled eggs. Sounds a little weird, but the hint of sumac along with other herbs plus sweet roasted garlic was delectable Humus: 3.5 This was your standard issue humus. It lacked the nutty flavor and denser texture of some of the most outstanding examples. Mast o musir: 4 Surprisingly I liked this a lot. We got it mostly because my sister«needed her yoghurt fix», and I was concerned that the shallots would have too much of a bite, but they were so finely chopped and blended with the wonderfully creamy yoghurt and just enough black pepper to make this simple combo a lovely offset with the lamb lamb kabob skewer: 4 One lamb skewer had the equivalent of about 4 fileted lamb chops’ worth of meat. Perfect texture and flavor was rich, if a bit mildly seasoned for me. I would have added a touch of salt and maybe some more pronounced herb and acid. With two Persian teas the total with tax, but no tip was $ 52. I think this is a little pricey. Again I’d recommend they add a couple of more economically priced lunch combos and they could fill up more tables. Food: 35⁄40 Service: 17⁄20 atm/intang: 16⁄20 Value: 15⁄20 Overall: 83⁄100

Food, ambiance, and service were all mediocre. Ambiance very homey, but it just didn’t feel all that welcoming. Low ceilings? Dark since they lowered the blinds? Empty abandoned looking bar? Shrugs. The pureed eggplant(Kashk-o-Bademjan) was good. It was my first time here and I asked what we eat the lavash bread(first thing they bring to the table with butter) with, the waitress looked at me with silence. I was like anything? Appetizers? Then she nodded and said yes. Well then, I thought, time to be creative. Buttered my lavash bread, added some of the Kashk-o-Bademjan in, rolled it up, chomped. Not sure of the proper way to eat that, so that worked for me. Ordered the Yas Special which included basmati rice, chicken and koobedih. Both were mediocre. Cooked well. Fan of the saffron rice. Nothing spectacular to be honest. Won’t be craving anything from here, but don’t mind trying again if someone suggests. They’ve got wine, cocktails, and bottled beer. Ask for the drink menu if interested. Limited parking.

So I give it a three with a caveat that it’s good Persian food… Turns out I’m not such a huge fan of the sweet food! I went with a gf who loves Persian food and she said that the food was spot on! It’s healthy and super fresh and vegetarians have a lot of options but if you are anything like me take your siraicha or hot sauce! There is plenty of parking and the wait staff were super attentive.

I’m Persian so I know Persian… This is a solid Persian store. Everything coming out of their kitchen is tasty and made with thoughtfulness. We really splurged the other night, I had the gheymeh(delicious, I was going to get the veggie style but so glad I decided on the beef). My husband got the chicken with the various jeweled rice dishes and he smiled all the way through the meal. We had yogurt and salad and made sure we kept room for ice cream though there was no room, just just had to have it. The staff is courteous. It’s home style, not pretentious, not pretending to be something it’s not. It’s a family place and for that, I applaud them and will go back — the distance is worth it. See you soon and merci!
