I went here once before and had quite possibly the worst coffee I have ever tasted. It seemed burnt or something so for years I never returned. Then a friend of mine said, oh they have amazing sandwiches, which if you know me… I love a great sandwich! Yesterday I decided to give it a go for lunch. The first thing to note is the credit card machine was down so I had to leave and go to the ATM to get cash for my lunch. Once I returned, I decided to order the BLT. When it came, I was surprised because the bacon was broken down into little pieces and there appeared to be some kind of dressing on the lettuce maybe. I took a bite and it was delicious. Not the best BLT I have ever had, but maybe the 2nd or 3rd. I was quite thrilled and also realized I would be returning to try other sandwiches! Beyond that the space is fantastic, whether you want a place to hang out with a friend, get a book and lounge on the couch or get some work done(internet is free, but slow) you can do it here! Even outdoor seating if you want to bring your pooch and chill. Overall, I’m far more impressed this time around and look forward to using this great little shop in my neighborhood more often.

Found this little gem off of Unilocal.I love the quaintness of the location and was happy with my Sunday lunch visit. I ordered the tuna melt which was delicious! It was simple and fresh and I will be returning here to order it again. My boyfriend had the club sandwich which was ginormous in size. We probably could’ve split a sandwich since we had half of each leftover. Some people mentioned the price, but you’re paying for a huge portion which we didn’t mind. Looking forward to bringing my co-workers here during the week!

I went to this place years ago after it had recently opened and was unimpressed. I found the guy who ran it to be obnoxious and a bit of a blowhard. However, I decided I should try it again based upon all the positive Unilocal reviews. I will say that the coffee was fine. But the customer service experience left something to be desired. The same obnoxious guy is there, and I found him rude and abrasive. When I asked for a cup of coffee he gave me a cup and then just walked away, and I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to pay yet. Eventually he came back. When I asked if he had any decaf coffee he just said«nope», without any other comment. Finally when I asked for the Wi-Fi password, he mumbled something and I didn’t hear him. I asked him again for the Wi-Fi password and he said in an angry voice«I said you need one». Why this is not the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, I don’t find it a necessary part of my daily routine, and there are so many other coffee shops in the area that I don’t think I’ll ever need to go back here again. By the way, the cups they use for their coffee are very flimsy and I seriously burned my hand because the cup top sort of collapsed in my hands. My fault, but boy is their coffee very, very hot.

I’m disappointed. Not the worst coffee I’ve had, but definitely not good. I ordered a latte that came out okay, but didn’t make me feel happy like lattes usually do. It didn’t have any remarkable flavor, just tasted like warm milk. I had some of my husband’s cappuccino and it was awful. It tasted like weak coffee that was slightly burnt. It didn’t taste like milk was added at all, or espresso. Just coffee, bad watery coffee. It’s rare to mess up espresso and milk drinks, milk can mask a poor pull; it didn’t help here.

This is my neighborhood coffee shop. For the time-being it is, at least. I’ve only had their drips here and have to say, they are mighty fabulous. All organic fair trade blends that actually taste like quality coffee, not that stale Folgers type that you can tell has been sitting in a warmer for a number of hours. Not here my friends. One of my favorite drips is their Golden Gate blend. It’s a blend of fantastic that’s for sure… named after our city by the bay *le sigh* They’ve got other specialty coffee drinks you can custom with your preference of milk and flavors too. There are select pastries and donuts to pair your coffee with. They also make breakfast sandwiches fresh while you wait. Seating area is plentiful as well so you won’t find yourself standing around sipping your coffee unless that’s what you want to do… they’ve got awesome artwork all around to occupy your time while you wait. Parking may be an issue since it’s on a busier street, but once you find one, be sure to snag it fast.

:) Awesome place to hang out with Wi-Fi, food is delicious, owner is very nice, and customer service is on point. I ordered tuna melt with two extra pickles(which the owner didn’t charge me), iced mocha and latte. Everything was delicious! Definitely will come back to check out other sandwiches and drinks. Location is great as well. Parking wasn’t hard even though it’s in down town. After our lunch, my cousin and I walked to Japantown to explore the area(and it was a really short distance). Thanks John!

I’ve been here a few times and it’s easily become my go-to place before work. I haven’t really tried much here, but I would recommend it for a quick stop if you’re not wanting to stand in the long lines at starbucks or your other typical go-to coffee stops. It’s a real mom and pop shop type feel and sometimes those places end up being the best! One of my favorites is the Iced Vanilla Latte! I don’t know what it is, but its so yummy! The service is really quick and they are nice here too. I always see people in here and a few times I’ve heard the owner John recognizing regulars and knowing what exactly they wanted. He really takes time to acknowledge everyone that walks in the door with a simple hello or good morning. I will definitely have to try some other items on the menu, but I’ll always come back for my iced latte!

Walked here randomly while waiting for my car to get fixed. I can definitely see why this place has a 4.5 star rating. Lots of seats and tables ranging from standard restaurant booth to comfy huge couches. I ordered a breakfast scrammy with sausage which was delicious and relatively cheap($ 5) which pleased my food and wallet boner. But what made this place a 5 star for me was the extremely friendly service. Granted I’m here at 10am on a Wednesday so it’s not busy at all, but the cashier guy(older gentleman) greeted me and the other customers with«boss» and came over to my table to personally bring me my order and also condiments. This kind of service is a rarity nowadays so I extremely appreciate it when I see it.

Interesting place! Very much a «Mom and Pop» kind of café. Large open seating space, decent outside seating with a fairly large side patio. The food was simple but good and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We’re looking to move the area and we’re glad to have found the place.

Unprofessional and rude customer service. Went here on Friday, November 20th at 8AM and an older man in his 50s with gray hair took my husbands order. Right when my husband walks in the man drops a F bomb which weirded out my husband. Another customer spilled his coffee and the server dropped another F bomb! This man was grumbling the whole time and had so much attitude! First and LAST time here.

We love this spot! John is the man and is all business when he makes your sandwich. You can really tell he takes pride in making it well. It’s really good! The ambiance is really chill and the place is always clean. Stop by and enjoy the inside, or his well manicured outside sitting area.

We stumbled across this little café and now I’ll probably be returning 1 – 2 times per week! The owner is awesome and the food is delicious!!! I got the bacon scrammy w/avocado and cheddar cheese, on sliced sour dough with extra mayonnaise and boooooy that baby did the job. So yummy. Some other things that stood out to me on the menu, that I must try soon, are: the tuna sandwich, the breakfast bagel, and the breakfast croissant. They also have pastries and salads and like 8 different coffees to choose from.

Decent place with odd décor. Drove here on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and parked near the Miso high rises — no sign said I couldn’t! ;) The café itself wasn’t very busy and had ample seating, but it was also pretty eerily quiet for a café. Ordered a sandwich and Pellegrino and waited for it to be delivered to my table(also weird, you don’t pay the guy until after you clear your own plate, even though they bring it to your table…) My Chicken BLT was decent and came with a side of those shoestring fries that come in a can. Nothing to write home about, but my friend loved his chicken pesto sandwich. They have free wifi and solid seating, I’m sure it’s a nice place to get some work done. But there’s no shortage of sandwich places to hit up for lunch.

I only visit my office every other Tuesday; normally I come here thinking its a coffee shop. I had the pleasure coming here 2 weeks ago with my boss, we ordered the Asian chicken salad and my mind, body and soul has been craving this fresh, well balanced salad. thank God it’s Tuesday cause I’m here eating this yummy salad I waited 2 weeks to eat! Good job!

This is place is kinda cozy and chill. You just walk up to the counter and order your food. I came during a slow time during the early afternoon. There was a short line and it seemed very casual. My boyfriend and I ordered our sandwiches, a egg and sausage bagel sandwich and a BLT, and a ice coffee after a night out in SF. We grabbed ours seat on the couches and waited ’til they dropped off our food to us. You get your monies worth. You’ll get a pretty big sandwich with some Pik-Nik potatoes on the side. The owner and his wife are friendly and you get your food pretty fast. Additionally, coffee table made from a local San Jose artist, which I thought was pretty cool. There are additional seating outside as well. Haven’t tried the Italian sodas yet so, I am definitely going to try that the next I come through.

I stopped by this place to grab lunch while waiting for a friend and couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience. I ordered a chicken BLT from the owner, Johnny. While I was admiring the local art from my very comfy seating, he brought me over a bowl of split pea soup that he made himself. I don’t know how he knew of my secret craving for this soup after driving past countless billboards for Anderson’s Split Pea soup on 101, but this really hit the spot! Soon after he brought out my sandwich which came with a side of pik nik shoestring potatoes. So nostalgic for me as I used to munch on these on road trips as a youngin’ :) I cleared my plate within minutes and Johnny joked that I must’ve really hated it. Within 25 minutes I was in and out to meet my friend. Props to Johnny for running this terrific little eatery with a cool vibe. I’ll be back!

I have to say I’m ashamed for not knowing of this hole-in-a-wall sooner. I ordered pastrami panini and a peach Italian soda, The panini was made fresh with fresh ingredients and served with a nice snacky chip fries. Johnny was extremely friendly and he calls everyone buuass(boss) which is awesome Ill be coming back for sure

First of all, I want to thank you the owner who’s name I did not get, for coming out of the store to take my order because I had my dog with me. Thank you! Koa(my dog) and I were taking a morning walk and I suddenly became hungry and YC is literally a minute walk away so it was my first choice! I ordered an Albacore sandwich and a tuna sandwich for Patrick, both were really good and I love the crunchy fries that came along with our sandwiches We became VIP that same day according to the card we got! For sure coming back here because we live so close to it and there’s so much more on the menu I want to try! We just have to learn how to wake up for breakfast
