Spring roll appetizer was amazing. Highly recommend the Salad Sampler… All three salads were delicious! Service was prompt and very friendly! Parking was pretty easy… Even on the weekend! We will definitely be back!

It’s Friday evening at 6:00 pm. We show up for our reservation but the Restuarant reports to open table we don’t show. Hmmmm. Food just so so. Calamari was not properly cooked to start off the food tasting and server never came back after delivering the food to see how we were doing. My steak however was cooked perfectly. The lack of good service on the patio will be the reason we don’t go back here. Did I mention that the restaurant was slow so there is no excuse for the poor level of service.

I love coming on Tuesdays for wine night and sitting in Courtney’s section! They have a great wine night and ends happy hour with $ 2 off of a bunch of appetizers!

This is a nice, trendy, sunny lunch spot located in a great area that is central to everything. Honestly I was going to go to the restaurant upstairs when I saw the beautiful Decour and outdoor seating on a very sunny day and I looked and saw lots of people outside eating really beautifully displayed food. The presentation is lovely, the food is presented very well with a very nice wide range of palettes and the waitresses are quite beautiful. My food came out in record time, which was really helpful because I was meeting somebody and did not have very much time. The waitresses were cordial but my only complaint is they seem to be really pushing me to eat fast as though they were in a hurry to get me out so they can put somebody else at my table. I never got served bread but other than the rush service and not getting bread it is a quite lovely place and definitely worth spending your lunch in the sunshine.

TWOWORDS: Sweet rolls Did I mention they are complimentary?! Wasn’t expecting there free bread would be so tasty. They were Crispy on the outside and warm and soft in the inside, not too sweet. TASTE | 4.5÷5 The Skillet and Eggs Benedict were delightful. They both had yummy potatoes. Surprised to like the sausages in the skillet because usually I find them too seasoned but this was not. I like the touch of sun dried tomatoes in the skillet dish, the perfect sweetener. The Benedict had a nice crisp from the chorizo. My only problem is the pouched egg was waaaay too runny. It made the dish soggy when it shouldn’t(I overheard a table next to me say they had the same problem and had to bring the dish back to the kitchen.) VIBE | 5⁄5 It is a beautiful brunch place with bug Windows and outside setting when the weather is good. Lauren, our waitress, was amazing! So helpful and when the other table complained she did a good job handling the situation. Great recommendation on the menu.

Wow what a great stop for lunch in the heart of San Juan Capistrano! First off the atmosphere in here is really nice, without feeling so high end that you have to be dressed up. There is also outdoor seating and this location is so central it would be nice to sit outside. My table of three was able to be seated right away, and we each had something different. I had the ½ and ½ combo with the grilled cheese and signature sun dried tomato soup, which was absolutely delicious comfort food. My sister for the chicken pesto sandwich and my friend the lamb burger and there were rave reviews all around. Service was also very good and attentive. If you have the room, I definitely recommend some dessert, specifically the crème brûlée trio. So good! This place also has a bar and some decent looking happy hour specials and brunch. I will definitely be back and update my review when I try more of their offerings.

We went on Friday night after a long week at work. I was starving and didn’t know what to get. Luckily, our server Victoria provided some great recommendations, from appetizers to drinks and mains. She really knew the menu and was patient as I asked questions about everything. I can be really indecisive! Ended up starting with the chicken egg rolls, which were super crunchy with an amazing sauce that I wanted to drink. I got a beautiful flat iron steak, cooked perfectly and paired with crispy thin fries. My other half got the blackened chicken pasta dish that was equally fantastic and rich. We definitely exchanged a few bites. Our server gave us the full run down on desserts, which was incredibly tempting, but we were stuffed. We’ll definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu.

Went back the 3rd time and I have to say, they need to have Ashley train all their servers. She was very polite, upbeat and made the experience great. The food was better this time but I have to stick to 3 stars as an overall experience. It took a lot for me to go back to this place 3 times and it should not take 3 visits to impress someone. Places to eat usually get only one chance to impress patrons so 3 stars it is.

Really nice bistro environment. Grilled cheese and tomato soup. The basics of childhood made adult like here. A tad expensive, but a nice patio to chill at.

Food was awesome, service was abysmal. I ordered the ½ chicken pesto sandwich and spinach strawberry salad… and both were SOTASTY. I loved it. BF ordered the ultimate burger… it was tasty… hard to eat, but so delicious. Now for the service… our server was NEVER anywhere to be found. I was looking around and noticed people with bread baskets and I confirmed via Unilocal that it was complimentary. So after about 15 minutes, when our food came out, I asked the person that brought our food if we could get bread. Then we were basically almost done with our meal and our server finally came by to ask us if we were okay. Meanwhile, another server checked on her tables(right behind us) at least 3 – 4 times throughout. It wasn’t a busy time, there were plenty of empty tables. No excuse for such poor service. It’s a shame, because the food is terrific.

It’s always tough giving a bad review. I hate to do it but, it’s a necessary evil… Unilocal categorizes a three-star as «a-ok». I wouldn’t say that’s the case here. The food was hit and miss– my dish would be 3 to 4 star worthy, but there were 3 other people in our party. I tasted all their food and would not recommend any of it. In addition to that, the service was terribly slow. And not because it was busy, there was a disorganized nature to it all. The foursome sitting next to us waited a solid 20 minutes before their server even came to greet them. She was very apologetic but, geez… I did like the atmosphere, as it was clean and inviting and their sweet rolls that they bring out before the meal were very tasty and light as air. I’m not sure if that’s something they do for brunch or what. So down to brass tacks– if I ever have a bad meal, I like to give the establishment the benefit of doubt, but if their odds are currently one for four, I’m not sure if they have earned a second try. Sorry, Sundried Tomato, but it’s time to get your act together…

I have been here two times and each visit was completely different. This place is super cute in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. The outdoor patio is great for a relaxing weekend brunch. They have $ 15 bottomless orange, pineapple and watermelon mimosas. On our first visit we had a great waitress who was friendly and kept the mimosas flowing. I had the brie omelette and hubby had the chicken & waffles, both entrees were superb! Second visit was terrible. It took our waitress about ten minutes to even acknowledge us. By the time she first came by to greet us, we were ready to order. It took another five minutes just to get water and our appetizer came out before we even had our first mimosa. We constantly had to keep asking for refills on our champagne. We were there 45 minutes and only had two mimosas! This is unacceptable when I’m trying to get my bubbly on! We had to start telling her we wanted another mimosa before we even finished what we had, so we wouldn’t have to wait 10 minutes for the next round. At one point she said the bartender was behind and that was why the drinks were so slow but when I passed by the bar there was no one there and the bartender was just standing around. The chicken skillet was blah and the stuffed pepper had too much sauce. Then the waitress brought out our check before we even told her we were done. We are going to go back a third time to see which of these 2 visits truly represents this establishment.

Had a quick lunch at the Sundried Tomato while tourist-ing in the Mission district of San Juan Capistrano. Located across the street from the antique shop, this bistro type restaurant has outdoor seating as well as bar seating inside. We were started off with a warm bread basket with home made Sundried tomato butter, my fave was the whole grain rolls. For my lunch I had their creamy Sundried tomato soup, which tasted freshly puréed with a touch of smokey accents from pepper. Along with the pesto chicken sandwich on baguette, with melted Brie. The chicken was good, with no fatty content to taste. The chicken also had a touch of cilantro too. French fries that came on the side were thin, shoestring type fries.

So glad we decided to stop by and check this place out! We had an amazing dinner and great service! Waiter was very friendly and made sure we always had drinks. The pasta is out of this world good! We had the blackened chicken over bow tie and the fettuccine and both were amazing! Will def be back in the future Came back again and have to say not impressed at all with the service or food quality! We came at 8pm at night so not busy at all! They acted like we were an inconvenience even though they didn’t close until 9:30. Ordered the filet and made sure to ask for it extra well done, it came out bleeding and medium. I didn’t even get the chance to ask for them to recook it since the waiter never came back out until 30 – 40 min later. The manager apologized and took it off bill which we appreciated. But she made a nasty comment saying«this happen last time also didn’t it» we actually enjoyed our meal last time and had no issues.

I stopped by this place after visiting the Mission San Juan Capistrano on Sunday. This review is only based on what I ordered. — Caesar Salad and Pesto Chicken Sandwich. Restaurant Location — Good Service — Satisfactory Furnishings & Interior — Good Food — Mediocre Portion Size — Disappointing Observation: A Restaurant at a touristic location — Price and the product is not matching. The salad was consisted of kale, tomato and some other greens. I did not think this was Caesar salad enough — not much flavor and cheese. Bitter, dry and not so tasteful. Sandwich was too small. The taste was acceptable, but not excellent. Come on! This place has a good chance to do much better easily.

Sundried Tomato is hands down the best food in town. The atmosphere is upscale, the bar area is new and nicely arranged and the wait staff are very accommodating. I choose Sundried for take out lunches(because I HAVE to have their chopped salad at least once a week) and dine in for special occasions. My family is completely hooked on the sundried tomato soup that is there signature dish. When we have office parties, my staff always asked for Sundried Tomato. Even though I call the same day most of the time, their catering staff is always happy for the order and delivers it on time with plates, napkins and serving utensils ready to go.

The hubs and I came here on Valentine’s Day day for brunch, and the food and mimosas were incredible! We ordered some bloody Marys to start, and they were just okay. When our food came, we each ordered a watermelon mimosa. The fresh watermelon juice in the champagne was so refreshing! This is the absolutely perfect day drink! The signature sweet rolls that are brought out before the food are the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever tried! The sticky, gooey, sugary goodness just melts in your mouth. I opted for the Brie and grilled onion omelet with avocado and tomato(I was able to order with egg whites), and this came with a side of potatoes and fruit. I loved my food! My hubby got the braised beef omelet and said it was a little watery but still tasty. Our waitress was super sweet but had too many tables, so the service was a little slow. We will be back for more brunch and watermelon mimosas soon!

Service was above average. Lots of parking available if you get there early enough. I parked in the structure behind the restaurant, free parking for three hours. We were given some pastry looking dish. It was stale and cold. I think it was supposed to be a cinnamon bun or something. It wasn’t good. I should have ordered the chicken pesto sandwich that everyone was raving about but instead I got the grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup. I added bacon to the grilled cheese, unfortunately parts of the bacon were too hard to consume. The truffle fries were probably the best part of the meal. In the end, it all kind of evened out. Simply average.

Great California eatery with local wines and a prime location right next to the mission. Came here on a rainy day so I was grateful to get a spot right away in this cozy restaurant. They have a pretty small food menu. Actually I’m pretty sure their wine menu is longer! I ordered the waiter recommended pesto chicken roll appetizers. They were basically shredded chicken wrapped in a fried dough shell drizzled in chimichurri and sriracha. Lots of flavors but I don’t know if I’d order it again bc it came out kind of cold and to me that dish should be very hot, given the Chinese inspired style. Guys, the best thing ever though: The grilled cheese with tomato soup! Get it!!! The sando has Asagio, Parmesan, and Havarti. It was AMAZING. The soup was creamy and rich and went perfectly w the sandwich. You’re probably thinking, «why would I order the grilled cheese? That’s a kid’s item.» Answer: NO. Seriously, shut your mouth and order this. And then open your mouth so you can ingest it.

After playing golf one day at Talega Golf Club, we were looking for a place to watch the 49er game and get something to eat. The bartender at the golf club told us about Sundried Tomato which was like a sports bar, pub, bistro, located directly across the street in an upscale shopping center. It looked like a fairly new restaurant, very well decorated, with flat screen televisions in the bar area. We opted to sit at the bar for a closer view of the TVs. Since it was around 5:45pm, happy hour was in effect with discounted bar and food items. We decided to order a few appetizers and the beer specials. My friend ordered a Hefferweisen beer and I ordered a Stella Artois. Both were great after golfing and really hit the spot. Since there were three of us, we decided on the Braised Beef Sliders(3), Bacon-Wrapped Fresh Jumbo Scallops, a medium Thai Pizza, and received a bonus appetizer by checking in through , the Crispy Blackened Chicken Spring Rolls. Every item was thumbs up and so good, we finished everything. The service was excellent and both bartenders were very friendly and helpful. We definitely will return on future golfing trips to San Juan Capistrano, possibly for dinner next time.
