Worst Von’s ever! I have been there a couple times and I will not be going back! The workers have horrible customer service. One time I bought chicken fingers, ambrosia, and potato salad from the deli. They put all the food in one container which is fine because it was for my lunch. The bad part was when I was at the check out the bagger tilted my container sideways and put it in my shopping cart. Now the food was all mixed together and smushed to one side of the container. I was mad!
Then I went there today, bought food, went to the check out line and the cashier (a woman with red hair) started coughing all over my food. It was so gross! She didn’t even cover her mouth!
Never spending my money there again!

This store is closest to my home but it’s gotten so bad that I only run in occasionally and rarely now. The checkout lines are packed because generally only 1 or 2 registers are open at any given time. The advertised specials for shelf items are often not available. The produce isn’t fresh — once this summer I had to tell the cashier to have someone clean out the «fresh» corn bin — corn husks were brown and dried and gross. I don’t understand why they think fresh corn can sit out for days with no refrigeration. And I’ve had cucumbers and zucchini go bad in just a day or two from this store.
It’s a shame because I really WANT to shop here! The Von’s app saves me money but I’m at a point of not even caring about that. Ralph’s is nearby although a little farther away. I detest the frustration of this Von’s and I’ve come to actually expect it when I shop there. And from that perspective, this store never disappoints me.

This place is sooooooo frustrating. Everytime the line takes forever and they only have one cashier working. Several times I’ve wanted to just say screw it and walk out. Too bad it’s the closest to my house. I’d go to the Ralphs but the traffic is terrible. The people working are always friendly at Vons. I feel bad for them, they need more help.

This Vons is awful. Always have long lines and I don’t even shop at peak times. If they continue to choose not to properly staff their store to keep customers from waiting in ridiculous lines, they need to invest in self checkout.

What’s great about waiting in line at this Vons is the abundant amount of time it gives you to post on Unilocal on how crappy the checkout services are here. Standing in line again with half of SJC and two checkers. Always consistently crappy here.

This is a great Vons! Taylor, and Debbie at the deli are great! I buy breakfast burritos from them 3 – 4 times a week. The rest of them are tools if im honest. As for the shopping experience, I would say Vons is a little pricey so I tend to go to Ralphs down the road.

I come here about 4 times a week for lunch and i never have any issues.
The people in the Deli are awesome (Except for one or two) and they make AMAZING sandwiches, breakfast burritos and have really good soup.

This is the worst Von’s I’ve been too. There known for there cranky old lady’s who are very rude. If you are young they are short with you and act like your bothering them but if you are older they will talk and talk to you till your ears fall off. We are there to buy grocerys and nothing’s more annoying to be behind someone who’s buying 2 items but it takes the cashier 10 minutes to check you out. Also this Von’s is very dirty and it’s very dark inside. That may be a reason why it seems so dirty?
I’d rather go to Ralph’s where there’s better selection and prices!

Navel oranges… yummmm!!! I love coming here to get their slices of cake in their bakery, get a fresh sandwich from their deli, or some of their juicy fruit in the produce department! Oh and before I forget, I love their floral department! They have some very elegant designs for 50% off floral stores. For my aunts birthday I got her balloon and flower bouquet from here. Employees are always eager to help and even the baggers are nice! They always offer to help me to my car but I have always declined but the fact that they offer is amazing!
Yes, this store is a tad more expensive than Stater Bro.‘s but their quality is so much better.

If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Just called in and spoke with «Laura» the «store manager» and asked if the western union was working. She said yes but refused to help me because all her employees were busy working the register. She said if I wanted to wait 2 hours she could maybe help. I let her know western union was down in 2 other stores in the area and she still refused. I was standing in the store when I made the call, it was busy but not to the point that they could not have one checker walk away and help me receive my money for 2 minutes. Beyond rude and completely callus considering I was in dire need of the money for my kids Christmas presents. Horrible woman.

It seems EVERY time I am in the check out line at this Vons all I hear is chatting among the Vons employees about when their next break is. Enough already! It makes me as a customer feel like I am inconveniencing them!
The exception to this, and the reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 or none, is a checker I think is named Louie. He is great! Always happy and eager to help. This store needs more guys like Louie!!!

Luv this Von’s and want to alert others to this location. They are extremely helpful & friendly. Really appreciate them showing extra care when I needed it. This is the place to shop!

One of the people selling drugs to me was very rude and an idiot. She was extremely mean with large muscles the size of a small cat and her thighs looked as if they were meant to crush cans at the recycling plant. While I waited for my order she asked if I was George Carlin. I responded no, but she repeatedly asked the question over and over and would not stop. When I received my order I quickly left the store in haste. On my way back home, I opened my small baggie and found my medicine with George Carlin written in sharpie all over it. I decided to throw away the medicine due to the fear that the women might have sat on the pills.
All in all it was a bad experience. I would advise Vons to stop hiring retired WWA Women Heavyweight Champions as pharmacists.

Long lines and little caring by management make this a less than pleasurable experience. Tough to beat the U-​savings though…

The main reason I give this place any credit is because it’s employees are so cool. Otherwise, I don’t really care to shop here as much as I do. The main reason this place gets busy isn’t because it’s the only nearby grocery store in SJC, but because Ralph’s is located in a nightmarish shopping center that is a major pain to deal with. The reason I only gave this place three stars is because of it’s lack of variety in all areas, and the fact that what they DO have to chose from isn’t what the general population would chose. Most of the typical brand’s and flavors/​products that are used by most people can’t be found there. On top of the fact that besides the few awesome deals, most things are overpriced particularly their meats. On the flip-​side however, I don’t buy my meats anywhere else because of the freshness and quality. I continue to shop here, just wish the selection was better.

Good emyployer but can never get the scechwell up on time for the next week. The manager are making the woman at late at night when it is not safe for us I love all my ocworkers

Very convenient but the staff need to stop fighting

This location is convenient and close to the highway. The rotisserie chickens go quickly! I went in today on my lunch to grab one and take it home for dinner but they were already sold out! The staff is friendly and offered help for finding items in the store without me asking even if I’d needed it I would still be impressed.
