Eh not a fan. I know I asked for 2 carne asada and one carnival tacos. I got the opposite. Minus one star. Minus another for NOT serving beer(WTF!?) Minus another for flies all over the place. Yuck! Been there done that… won’t be back!

Had to try taco Tuesday for lunch. $ 5.95 for three tacos beans and rice. The problem is it took 25 minutes to get my order. And there were only three orders in front of me. I ordered a beef chicken and pork tacos? 25 minutes? I really wanted this to be a new find. It was a total disappointment. The people are nice. They just don’t have a clue about running a restaurant.

This is one of the better Mexican places in San Leandro. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and thought it was going to be a self-serve, pay at the counter place, but it wasn’t. We sat inside and the only server in the place seated us and took care of us. I really liked their chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and just thick enough for dipping into salsa. They seemed to be made in house as they were not stale! The salsa was good too – had a nice flavor and a little heat. The hubby ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and he really liked it. It was a nice sized portion and the. amount of cheese in it made him very happy. I had the Beef Flautas with rice and beans and dollops of guacamole and sour cream on top. I liked that the flautas had not been over-fried as they usually are. They were on the thick side and had a good amount of meat inside. I’d definitely order it again. Not sure why, but they served us bottled water when we asked for water. They must serve it in lieu of regular tap water every time someone asks for water because when another couple asked for water, they were also given bottled water. They didn’t charge us for it, but I’d really rather not be served bottled water. God knows there are enough plastic water bottles polluting the environment and contributing to that infamous gyre in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I will bring my own water in my reusable water bottle next time we eat here. We will definitely be back though and try their seafood next time. A family across from us ordered it and it looked good! They also have $ 1.50 tacos on Tuesdays!

Diamond in the Rough. Don’t judge this book by it’s plain cover. The food is very good and flavorful.

Ok so we ordered 2 super burritos 1 chicken 1 steak. That was apparently a lot to ask because this place could not get it together. First it was forever to get our food. Then when our good finally arrived a burrito was plain. Then I brought it to there attention they brought everything on the side what the heck are these people thinking then after noticing I wasn’t eating they brought my burrito back and made it correctly. I will not be back here the steak tasted like metal. My friend didn’t like her chicken burrito either. We had to ask for more water and more chips. This place literally had less then 10 tables. I could see if it was huge and short staff but honestly there is just no excuse for this. Also they served us our burritos wrapped in foil and we were eating there. Horrible will not be back,

This is not a usual Mexican joint, I did not know what most of the stuff was(though I am not mexican). I tried the mariscada. Think of it as a super seafood ceviche. It has lots of seafood and assume it was raw. I can take spicy but this was spicy. I would suggest asking for less heat or the heat on the side. I also had marlin taco. It was diced up and other stuff in there. I felt like I could not taste the fish. Service was good as the guy tried to explain what things were.

Dear White People: You might have passed by this place because it’s small and you already have a place you like to get tacos at or whatever, but you shouldn’t have. This place is great at what it does, which is birria, stewed goat or sometimes beef. You can order a burrito or whatever, but don’t, they’re not bad, but don’t. Order the birria like everyone else there.

Taco Tuesday!!! 1 $ tacos! Who can say no to that!?? Well my lady and I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. A local resident had informed me that this is there taco spot hands down. So I figured next time I get a chance we are going for it. To say the least I am amazed. 8 tacos a side of beans and a side order of chips and salsa(we ordered to go so I didn’t mind paying the extra. Although I don’t think they charged me for it anyways) was a grand total of 13 $ and small change. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks local taco shop. We will be back!

I pass by this restaurant everyday on my way home from work but never really pay attention to it. I finally decided to pay this place a visit and I am so glad I did! Their food is probably the best Mexican food in San Leandro. The portions are just right, the place is clean, and the owner/staff are genuinely friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely be back again

1st time here. drove by it many times as others have and finally decided to try. Glad I did. Had the ceviche cameron… one of the very best I have had in N/S Cal. And at $ 3.50 for a reasonable portion it was a fabulous deal. Had 1 each carnitas/pastor taco… carnitas was good not great, pastor was very average as the pork had too light of a marinade… not enough gaujillo/garlic/pineapple/vinegar/sugar flavor… not even close to Los Pericos at the pelton center nearby). At $ 1.75 each they were not great deals… but they have a Taco Tuesday at which time they would be an excellent deal and I will go back to try their other tqueria meats. Considering how good the ceviche was I will try some other seafood specialties next time. Since their namesake includes birria I will probably feel obligated to try… but after I found Taqueria Campos on Foothill a few years ago it is hard to eat birria de chivos anywhere else. Table salsa with chips was unique, tomato based slightly picoso with a lot of good mexican flavor. The waiter barely spoke English but was a really nice guy. I heard the chef and it does not sound like she speaks English at all. The menu is big and easy to find things so the language does not matter… except that it emphasizes the authenticity.

Waiting for my tires at big o tires. Decided to kill some time across the street. Happy I did. Tacos at 10 am! Woo-hoo. 1.75 a taco. They are worth it. So good. Plus they have taco Tuesdays. 1 dollar a taco. Usually after I eat Mexican food I don’t feel that great. Maybe it is the cheese. I feel fine now though. Good actually because I ate good food. First bite was great. Inside isn’t much to look at. It is small. But I like the feel. Food service is fast. They are also nice.

Birria Estilo United’s meaning escapes me. me no hablo espanol. noticed«$ 1 taco tueday» sign. interior is the same as couple mex business eateries previous. it’s hot in the dining area as the sun shines on it late afternoons to early evening. tables in front are shaded and cooler. business cards says the food is «100% Sinaloa». eats: beef, al pasor, chicken taco @1 special, tuesday –looked like regular tacos, no skimping –meats not fried but grilled. served with onions, cilantro, slight hotness deliz unexpectedly. best $ 1 taco ever tasted! drinks: jamaica(2.50) –sweet, pulp present, homemade hisbicus. drink… frijoles refritos: –menu pricey, portions filled the plates. –seafood may be specialty here –menu typical of most mexican eateries –heartell this is family runned biz –slow trickling of patrons in the early evening.

I have passed by this place hundreds of times when it was a Burger Joint. I finally noticed it had Changed into a Mexican Restaurant . I had rolled there Wednesday but they are Closed on Wednesdays . So I returned on Thursday and they were open for Business much to my Delight . I was greeted and seated by a very Cute and Nice Waitress . She presented me with a Menu which I perused . I ordered the Chili Verde Omelet, with Beans, Rice, Green Salad and Fresh Flour Tortillas . I also ordered the Marlin Taco — Yes Marlin as in Big Fish!!! My Friendly Waitress brought me fresh Chips and Salsa to nibble on . This is Definitely a Hole in the Wall Restaurant. It has a very Spartan Décor . There are 2LCD TVs for Entertainment . My Waitress was very Friendly and quite Attentive . A Fun Fact this Restaurant was used as a Location in the HBO series — Looking . My food arrived in Ten Minutes. The Portions were good sized . The Marlin Taco had a Unique but good Taste. My Chile Verde Omelet was Delish. My Flour Tortillas came out in a Tortilla Container wrapped in a Linen Napkin so they wouldn’t get Soggy. My Waitress mentioned that they had Flan . Which is one of my Favorite Desserts so I ordered a Slice. My Waitress brought my Slice out in a few minute’s. It was a very nice Presentation an even better Taste . Good Food, Service and Price makes Birria Estilo United a Winner. They also have Lamb and Goat meat, I paid by Credit Card and Rolled out.

Authentic Mexican food! What they lack in size, they make up for in the quality of their food! Awesome food. Best tacos I have had in the area so far! Yummy! The ceviche was great too!

We’ve been passing by this place for so long, my family and I decided to give it a chance. The waitresses are always extremely friendly and helpful especially if you can’t decide what to get. The first time I came here I got the Birra plate(goat meat with rice and beans). Fresh hand made tortillas, and all the sides if you want to make tacos out of your dish. It was so delicious, I finished the plate in less than 20 minutes. The second time I came here was with my dad for Father’s day, He ordered the birria stew, I ordered the Camarones Zareandeados.(Shrimp marinaded with garlic sauce). It was a spicy for my taste as I don’t eat spicy food but the flavor mixed with the veggies made it better. Small hole in the wall spot but definitely gets my 5 stars. I will be coming back to try new dishes off the menu.

DELICIOUSFRESHSEAFOOD! Ordered the Mariscada for two. Dish was executed extremely well with shrimp, ceviche, scallop, tender octopus and my favorite shrimp aguachile. Its a wonderful dish served(especially in warm weather) as a tostada, with avocado, cilantro, and chopped tomato. Super nice and attentive waitress. Will be stopping by soon

This San Leandro Hidden Gem — was featured on HBO’s LOOKING series and characters in the script correctly describe this small family run resturant dive as a amazing and I agree this is a find spot to get a quik well prepared latin/mexican eats. Their fish menu is the best serving all fresh and amazing dishes — Try the Shrimp Burrito — its a wow –
