Went there last Tuesday with my family! Wasn’t busy that day! Great services will definitely come back and try more of their menu!

I frequently drive past this area, so I was surprised to see that this place had replaced the old Ming Tasty. My sister and I decided to try it out one night, but parking can be a pain since there’s only street parking. The restaurant is not what I would call small, but very cramped because of all the furniture and decorations. Also because of all the burning stoves, the place was really stuffy that the windows were all steamed up. I hope they find a way to get proper ventilation. Customer service-wise, they were very friendly and nice. We had no problems flagging them down or any bad experience with our server. For the food we tried the fried chicken wings and fries for an appetizer, and ordered a beef hotpot to share, and two hot milk teas. Everything on the menu was actually quite pricey so we decided to stop there. The beef hotpot had a very familiar spice to it(which I still can’t quite put my finger on it), and it was not bad but the spice was quite strong when I asked for mild. The chicken wings and fries were very good, it seemed like they were freshly deep fried which is a plus. And as always, the hot milk tea was good as well, which no one can hardly mess up. I’d consider making a return here but the prices are still a bit steep compared to other hotpot and Cajun seafood joints.

Hey not bad for a new business! We had the curry pot and seafood pot. I’m preggo so I just found out my tastebuds don’t like curry anymore but the roe balls were bomb– soup was good to my hubs. By no means was jt a bad soup, it just was not what my belly/baby wanted haha. His seafood one has really tender fish in it which I loved. Soft shell crab too mmm. Free iced green tea or red tea, thankfully it wasn’t hella sweet, I liked that’s way. Our waitress was super nice, the base of the soups were flavorful, the place was clean, now I want dessert so I’ll be Unilocaling another spot for sweets haha.

I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt after reading the reviews. I really did not want to drive down to Newark or Fremont for Boiling Point or Tasty Pot. The choices were pretty plentiful(one side hot pot, one side crawfish/shrimp). I ended up getting the House Special Hot Pot thinking that you can’t go wrong with this one. The soup was very bland, no spicy level added or even asked. Worse of all, most of the pots give you sliced pork, so it would take forever to cook and would still be pinkish by the end of the meal. There was no sauces on the table, and when asked they gave me a clear plastic bottle to squeeze out of. Don’t waste your money here and drive 20 – 30 more minutes for better hotpot.

We planned on going to Newark for hot pot goodness, but saw that there was one in the neighborhood. And despite the low marks that were given in the reviews, we still have them the benefit of the doubt. So after our experience, heed my advice: listen to the reviews and go somewhere else. There were four of us and our little guy. I ordered fish and fries for the kid, and we ordered beef hot pot. The other couple ordered another type of hot pot and we also ordered the Cajun combo #1 medium hot. We got our hot pots and there was a mound of hot chili on it. No where on the menu did they mention any type of spice, nor did they ask the level of spiciness for the hot pots. They did ask for the level of spicy on the seafood boil, which surprisingly, had the major spice but no flavor. So we start on our hot pot and another waiter brings us another one. We were confused because we had only ordered the two. It turned out they brought out an incorrect one. So, in good customer service the waitress apologized and said it was her mistake, just keep the wrong one as well. Five minutes later, a different server walked up and took it. We informed that server that our original server said we could keep it as it was a mistake. She said okay and brought it back. Three minutes later the original server came back and said we couldn’t keep it or they would charge us. She took it away and you know what they did? Chucked it in the garbage! What a waste of food on their end and ruined the good customer service on our end.

Found this place while browsing Unilocal, and was reminded of boiling point, so we decided to come here. It was pretty empty when we came in, so we were seated right away. Service was nice and speedy; it was probably only a couple minutes from being seated to having our food in front of us. In addition, the server was super friendly and always available when we needed him. We ordered the beef hot pot CRAZY spicy and a mild lamb hot pot. My roommate didn’t like his soup, as the spices made the soup really salty. I, however, really enjoyed the soup. Its a familiar chinese flavor, but it’s definitely pretty different from boiling point. Ingredients-wise there’s a nice mix of vegetables, meat, mushrooms, and noodles all in a pot. The lamb quality and mushrooms weren’t the greatest, but everything else was stellar. It also came with a green tea, which was a little light but very welcome. Overall a very enjoyable meal. One star off for some ingredients being lower quality, but its flavor and service were still great.

I ordered the crawfish because I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVeeeee crawfish. When I was looking around everyone was having the soup bowls. Well next time I’ll try that. Their crawfish wasn’t great, not even good. It tasted like months old frozen crawfish that has no flavors in it. The only flavor was the sauce they put on the crawfish. That was okay wasn’t the greatest. Avoid the crawfish here till they start using fresh crawfish.

A new place in town that serves hot pot AND Cajun food? Two of my favorite things? I had to try it. But what a disappointment. The boyfriend and I decided to try the hot pot for today and the Cajun next visit(if we do come again). The free tea that comes with the hot pot is a joke. It’s like watered down as hell. It was like drinking water with a splash of tea. Hot pot wasn’t flavorful. It tastes like they just boiled water and then added spices or whatever seasonings. My boyfriend’s hot pot just tasted like hot water and the spicy paste. I asked for spicy sauce on the side but I think they gave me the sauce from the Cajun food. Similar to that signature spicy boiling crab taste but a little lighter. Overall, I could normally eat an entire pot to myself but I couldn’t finish it because it was pretty tasteless.

Same owner as Ming Tasty but just remodeled into a hot pot/Cajun place. This review is for hot pot experience only. Broth is not as tasty comparing to Boiling Pot or Fashion Wok, or some other individual hot pot places I’ve been to. It was overly salty and ingredients were not fresh(stinky tofu had purple spots on it, is that how it suppose to be?). Fish cakes, tofu came out cold in the pot, well they became warm after it starts boiling, which is not how it’s suppose to be. Service wise, our waiter was super attentive and nice so I would give him 5 stars for that. Overall I wouldn’t come back and wish it remains as the old Ming Tasty, their porridge were much better than what this is right now.

Came here for dinner with my family and tried their beef hot pot(medium), lamb hot pot and their cajun combo bag #1 with shrimp. Their hot pots come with iced green tea or black tea in to go cups. Pretty similar service and menu items to Boiling Point and Tasty Pot. They just opened so I don’t think they really know what they’re doing in regards to the spice level. My mom got the beef hot pot in medium and when it came, there was so much spicy paste dumped on top. We took off a good couple spoonfuls and it still looked too spicy so I switched my lamb hot pot with her. I love spicy food and I can handle pretty spicy stuff and if this was supposed to be their medium spicy, I’d be afraid to get their spicy. The cajun combo bag is pretty much like Hangten or Boiling Crab. It included 2lbs choice of shrimp or crawfish, 1lb of clams, potatoes, sausages and corn. Pretty good deal for ~$ 36 but the only down side was that the clams weren’t cleaned that well so there was some sand. Overall, the food and service here is pretty good and I’d come here again.

This place was terrible. I swear our crab was only ¼ lb. no way that was a pound. Next morning we where sick. I don’t want to leave any stars but the waiter was very nice and funny. I will not come back to this place again.

I came here with my family cuz we were bored with no food to eat. We all ordered something or even shared. Sadly the noodles in the pots were like only 3 strands topped of with a lot of veggies or meat(depends on what you order). The service was really good! The employees were really nice & always there to check up on you. Overall, it was good! This place used to be Ming Tasty where they really messed the shit out of my club sandwich lol. Look at my very first Unilocal review.

Wasn’t busy when we got that. Customer service was pretty good, very attentive. Menu was interesting as a mix of hot pot and seafood boil. The hot pot selection have about12 choices, we chose the the herbal hot pot. It had veggies, vermicelli noodles, pork, fish balls, shrimp, and half a soft shell crab. The flavor were ok but I still prefer the flavors of the little fat sheep, this one was a little bland but you get a fair amount of food. For $ 16.99, it’s not a bad price. I guess my idea of hot pot is where you dump food, cook it, then eat it. This one was pretty much cooked and comes with a small flame to keep warm. Our waitress extinguished our flame even before we finished cooking the plate of beef we ordered. We also tried their seafood boil, combo #1, that came with corn, sausage, potato, clams, and your choice of 2 pounds of shrimp or crawfish. We ordered the house special sauce mild but ended up as medium. Wow, medium was too spicy for my taste. The flavors were ok but I still prefer other places. Its a place to go to if you don’t want to make the drive to Ray’s or the boiling crab.

Some of the food are expired for example like the corn. I got a hotpot and it’s good for 13 dollars. It won’t amaze you or make you feel disgusting. It’s meh.

Went to this place worth a large group of 10 people. We got 9 hot pots for the price of around $ 13 each. For $ 13, they give you a lot of food. The pot comes with a bowl of rice, and there’s udon inside the pot. It also comes with a choice of cold sweet green or black tea. The majority of us didn’t finish which was kinda sad. I got the curry fish ball and the flavor was so so. It wasn’t anything too special, but it wasn’t bad(a little salty). The service was pretty good. We came kinda early for dinner, so it was kinda empty at the beginning. I was with my family, so we were speaking Cantonese to the servers and everything. It was a pretty comfortable atmosphere, and the servers were attentive and polite. They even let me add tons more spice to my hot pot cause I really like spicy food. Oh! There’s also a birthday special you can redeem a couple days before/after your birthday. So check that out. Overall this place isn’t bad. A nice chill spot for such a cold and rainy winter.

Came here for the hot pot with two others and we all enjoyed our hot pot. It came with plenty of meat and veggies. The price of $ 12.95-$ 16.95 is not too bad considering you do get quite a bit. It comes with noodles in the soup, a bowl of rice, and a cup of iced tea. During the winter this is an enjoyable meal. They still have kinks to work though. This place used to be ming tasty but the owners opted to change to a hot pot/seafood boil place. Not sure that was the wisest decision as it doesn’t seem like the type of area for that. Warning: #1 uses stinky tofu.

This place used to be Ming Tasty, with pretty awesome classic chinese dishes. Recently, they changed their business model to a Cajun/Hotpot kind of restaurant(with new décor). You definitely see traces of Boiling Point/Tasty Pot, but it is not as flavorful. However, they are reasonably priced with big portions and the customer service is great. The menu has a wide selection of food.
