Was running some errands and found a new place to work — full service coffee shop that also serves breakfast! comfy couches at this place as well– always good to find nice couches to get some work done — I’ll bring my headphones next time as I don care for the top 100 radio mix they are playing … 4 stars

I don’t eat out much, but I tried Café Sorriso recently when I got together with a friend for a light lunch. I always drove by it and didn’t think much of it. After trying it, I’ve already been back once and can’t wait to go again! They offer a variety of typical café type foods, such as bagel and croissant sandwiches/meal deals. But surprisingly, they also offer some tasty Vietnamese food. My boyfriend tried their Bahn Mi the other day and it was really good! You could tell everything was made fresh to order and it came with a drink and chips. I got the bagel with Lox; it comes with cream cheese, capers, tomatoes and onion. It’s so good, and their bagels taste super fresh, like they are made in house. I’ve never tried their pastries, but both times I’ve been in, I was practically drooling over them. They look incredible– particularly the coffee cake, which you can tell is moist just by looking at it. The coffee they offer is also very good. I was surprised how smooth and flavorful it was. The atmosphere is nice, everything is clean and a good balance of spaciousness and coziness. I’ve sat on the patio before and it’s lovely on a sunny day. I’ll definitely be back, and I’m going to make it a personal goal(sort of a shameful goal lol) to try every pastry.

Great local place to relax with some coffee and breakfast. They have that extra kick because they have Vietnamese food also. Staff is very friendly. Prices are good for amount of food they give. There is plenty inside and outside seating.

Peace and quiet café. Unlike Starbucks, I can actually hear the conversation I’m in. Mom and pop café.

It is a rare thing to find a coffee place that offers real food. Most places might offer some sort of pastries, or muffins, or some other sugar-carb to spike your metabolism while amped up on caffeine. I don’t understand why human beings do this to themselves, maybe it’s because most coffee shops leave no other options. Maybe they just do it because everyone else does it. Anyhow I had a ham, egg, and cheese croissant with my mocha and both were good. What got my attention was the curb appeal however. It’s a cute house with a lovely porch and lots of patio heaters. It’s a shame this place doesn’t stay open later, I could totally see myself having a beer hanging out here. Anyhow, rare find and I found one, yay me

Café Sorriso may look just like a regular café on the outside, but you’ll find the likings of a small vietnamese restaurant in disguise on the inside! :) They do have the regular coffee, teas, biscuits, etc. and since it is a asian shop in you will find the easy to sell asian boba drinks. Can’t say I have tried those, but looks OK from the pictures/menu. I prefer to go to the trusted T4 though if I get the cravings in the area. But one thing I can say is that their Vermicelli dishes are the bomb. Have tried their Grilled Chicken with Eggroll + Vermicelli(~$ 8), also the ones with prawns. Their fish sauce + the vermicelli is delicious and refreshing for a nice lunch that’s not too heavy. The eggrolls also come out hot, crispy, and savory which hits the spot that contrasts with the cool vermicelli with sauce. My wife got the fresh shrimp roll which was also a refreshing and light appetizer, and likes the Bahn Mi(vietnamese sandwiches) here. They offer free WiFi and also outdoor seating. Only thing about indoors is that the place is small so the tables are close to one another. Hard to have a private conversation or if you are seeking some quiet. Often can hear patrons on the other side of the room. Recommend bringing some headphones is if you want to study here and don’t like the noise. Still, good place for a light and delicious lunch though.

Their Vietnamese sandwiches are kind of expensive for such a bland tasting sandwich. I’ve tried their milk teas and they are OK – not great but not disgusting either. Also, I’ve tried their brewed coffee. It tasted OK. The only problem I have is that the coffee is not black enough(once you go black, you can’t go back. JK!). Other than these minor issues, they have great wifi and plenty of seats.

Great food, great service, great selection of food and drinks. It’s also very fast and cheap! The only thing that sucks is that they aren’t opened for dinner. :-) Great atmosphere too with an outside porch and a couple of couches with free wifi. It’s a combination of Vietnamese food and standard deli food and they do both well.

My husband found this place for breakfast since we had to go to a funeral service around the area. The place has the homey feeling and it has a nice patio. I noticed there are locals who like to hang out here and I can see why. We got the breakfast sandwich deal. Coffee was okay, lots of options. They forgot one of our orders that’s why we waited for a while. Quality of food is okay. But it’s a cute place to hang out, to work or meet up with friends.

The staff here are very friendy. I ate the Mandarin Chicken Salad. The dressing could have been a little less sweet, however, it was good, the meat was tender. I sat on the patio which was nice and spacey just like the inside. I hate when tables are too close together. I also sat inside to charge my phone, the only thing about that is, I like a brighter setting. I don’t think the mood of the inside fits with the bright and sunny location. The place was clean. I will eat there again to taste the other menu items.

Vietnamese food in an American café with a European name, odd huh? If you want nice outdoor seating this place is probably one of the more pleasant places to sit in the area. I will give them one extra star for that. I have had their Vietnamese sandwich and thought it was ordinary. Also had their wonton noodle soup and it was actually pretty good. The broth was quite flavorful without being over salted. I would come on a nice day and have a coffee and some noodle soup.

I guess this is my mobile office. I’m at this coffee shop at least once every week, sometimes 4 days. I like the owner a lot. She has a good attitude and a hard working business owner. I like the couches here, sometimes I get a backache from sitting in uncomfortable coffee shop chairs for hours, so the couch option here is a lifesaver. The patio is pretty nice when it’s warm out. The traffic can get noisy so it’s not ideal for a serious phone convo. Besides having pretty good coffee, they have a nice food menu. The life of an entrepreneur can be hard with some of the food choices. I love the shrimp spring tokes and the mandarin chicken salad! Yummy and affordable! Both are around $ 6.50. I’m glad I know about this café thanks to an eclectic videographer that I met about 2 years ago. I’ve been hooked to this place ever since. One day I want to feel like I’ve accomplished enough work that day to actually buy a beer… they serve a few beers, although I haven’t seen anyone drink one yet.

It’s so cozy here! I came too late and missed breakfast, so I ended up getting a chicken sandwich with avocado and swiss. The sandwich wasn’t anything special, something I might be able to make myself. They ran out of swiss and put provolone on my sandwich… after serving me asked if it was okay. I didn’t mind, I don’t get too bougie about my cheeses. I just think it’s a little weird that they didn’t ask me before they served it. Other than the food, I do enjoy the ambiance. Something about the way the light shines through the big windows. I really do love it here and I can totally see myself coming here regularly for coffee and definitely to get some studying in!

It’s a small coffee place just opposite the Safeway store. The traffic around it is pretty busy(during the day), so if you don’t like that, rather sit inside. The place is cosy(there are normal seats and there are couches). They have Free Wi-Fi and the outdoor seating is under some sort of a roof so you won’t be sunburned and that way you can spend more of your time there. Their teas are okay, I haven’t tried the food(they have lunches and a sweet shelf by the counter). Staff is nice and quick with ordering(sometimes too quick if you are unable to decide). To me they are not really a daily go-to place, I only come here if I have a date or have to wait for somebody(cause most people know where Sorriso is).

Being a San Leandro native, trips to downtown SL have always seemed to involve passing by Café Sorriso and never going in. When I was back in town during one of my breaks, I came here with a friend to grab a couple of drinks and just to sit and chat! The moment you walk in, you can tell that it feels really homey, quaint, and cozy. You can either sit inside or outside on the patio. If it’s a nice day and you don’t mind the background noise of cars passing by, I would suggest sitting outside. I personally like having a slight breeze in the air, natural lighting, and it doesn’t hurt to people watch — you never know what you might see! Café Sorriso feels like it would be a great place to get some work done and study! They offer FREEWIFI and have table space for you to spread your wings, I mean your books and whatever else you need to study, and get right to work! While I can’t say much about the food served here, but it’s on my hit-list for things to try next time I’m back in town. The drinks I have tried so far were pretty good, but not amazing. My friend ordered a Thai Tea & I got a latte. No complaints about the Thai Tea, I had a sip and it was pretty sweet but also had that nice bitter(but not overly bitter) tea taste to it! My latte was pretty good, but I wasn’t too impressed by it. Parking is doable, there’s so parking spaces in front of the café but during busy hours those spots might be full. but you can also park in the streets! Overall, it’s not a bad place but nothing too impressive. I can definitely see myself coming back to try more and see what else Café Sorriso has to offer!

FREEWIFI! I can actually get my work done at this cute little café. I love their iced coffee and service! Such friendly customer service, not to mention a beautiful, cozy café. I love their outside siting as well, this whole place just reminds me of something in Santa Cruz or even Capitola. We had their chicken club sandwhich and that was very refreshing. I cannot wait to try their other food soon!

I am addicted to the wonton soup at this place. I usually get it often in the winter. The sandwiches are good with fresh ingredients. My wife usually orders the pork egg rolls since they are really good, and also the grilled chicken banh mi. They always remember me even when I am not a regular. I used to go more often but still get there for lunch especially on a nice warm sunny day, since they have a nice deck space out front with a few tables which is nice. I have been having lunch at Sorriso for a number of years now since the service is consistently fast and efficient and the prices are fair. The owner will ask me «where have you been»? when I return after a long absence. There is a Chess club in attendance that meets on Saturdays mostly, in the early afternoon to hang out, play some timed Chess and have lunch. It is the same group of Chess players since about 1997 when I first moved to California and found the Chess group and played Chess more frequently then. Nice to see some live Chess here. I will be back!

This place has THE best chicken noodle soup. I get sad when I’m not feeling well and can’t make it before 5pm to get their soup. After reading ONE review about their wonderful and magical soup, I knew I had to try it! It is basically chicken phở with a magical dried onion that I believe is the reason for the deliciousness. I don’t feel the dry throat that usually accompanies asian food, so I believe there is no msg! I ordered 2 orders today since I’m not feeling well. One for lunch and another for dinner. What? It closes early so a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do. There is not much, so you will probably still be hungry if you are not sick. Maybe order a delicious jasmine tea and some other side dish. The reason for the 4 stars seems harsh since I wrote great things about the two items. Let me finish and first say something else. I extremely dislike when people give businesses a rating of less than 5 stars without giving a reason or even worse, when they say really great things about a spot and give it 3 stars. What went on in their minds, beats me? Why write a review if you are going to be constructive? So, I vow to give my stars meaning. Star 1– taste of the chicken noodle soup Star 2– chicken noodle soup make me feel so good and give me energy Star 3– I crave chicken noodle soup all the time, so addicting! Star 4– jasmine tea, no sugar added, mmmm mmm good I could not give a five star because when it comes to coffee, I couldn’t finish mine as I did not care for the taste. I ordered a lox bagel and there was almost no lox in it and the combination of ingredients just wasn’t right. I may be comparing it to New York’s lox bagel, whom piles on the lox, but hey, I like what I like. I can’t say I’m 100% pleased with all the items like all the items so I took off a star. But the addictive chicken noodle soup saved the restaurant for me. I believe in redemption and that’s what they got!

This café is one of our favorite cafes in San Leandro. It serves both American and Vietnamese food(sandwiches, salads, vermicelli noodle plates, egg rolls, soups), and is good for breakfast and lunch. You can eat inside or outside on their deck, and there is free wifi. It won’t break the bank, so you can conceivably eat here a few times a week. They also have enough items on the menu, so your choices are not limited. For breakfast, I’ve had both their bagel and croissant sandwiches. They’re pretty good. Very filling. We mostly eat their lunch stuff here. Some of their lunch stuff that we like: Egg Salad Sandwich with Chips and Coffee or Soda($ 6 something) Half Sandwich + Soup with drink($ 6 something) Chicken Wonton Soup – has a nice, clear broth. Not overly salty. Great anytime but especially when you have a cold or it’s cold outside and you need something to warm you up. Grilled Chicken or Pork with Vermicelli Noodles – very good and filling. Vietnamese Sandwich with Chips and drinks($ 6.25) Boba! Try them out! Their food is inexpensive and good!
