My food was ordered at 9:30 and didn’t show until 12 noon. And was gross. Hot chocolate tasted like water. Bacon egg and cheese bagel had blueberry jelly on it. That was an interesting taste. Croissant sandwiches the croissant or burn and no egg. Would not order from them again for the price I paid

I ordered from here and found a cake I ordered moldy. That is a health issue, and the should pay more attention to what they sale their customer. Look at your food from her before you eat it.

I’ll tell you one thing, a 40 dollar minimum charge is crazy. This is Oakland not Beverly Hills. In the mood for a soggy over priced sándwich?! look no further

I wanted so much for Joan’s to be a «go to» place… Not going to happen! Just read the other reviews and I ditto most of the one star reviews. Since I had a groupon coupon I wanted to use it. The young lady took the printed coupon, seemed very confused and finally asked if she could keep it. I just wanted to get out of there so I asked her, «Well, the coupon is worth $ 25.00 and I only spent $ 12.00 — will I get a credit for the rest?» She said, «Yes» I am pretty sure that is NOT going to happen… I am sad that Joan’s is not a Bakery, Café, Deli or coffee shop!

First, Joan’s is not a bakery. They are only selling pre-packaged goods from a Chinese bakery in Oakland, and stale baked goods that I recognize as sold at Grocery Outlet. A doughnut I bought was probably a week old, hard as a rock. The food was good — at least flavor wise -, but the portions were very small and sandwiches came with no sides. Those $ 8 sandwiches should have been $ 5 at the most, given the amount/quality given. I ordered an orange juice, ~$ 4.50 for a large, thinking it’d be fresh squeezed but it was just from a bottle. It looks like the owners have run out of money to operate the restaurant.

Purely speaking from the GrubHub order experience… SCREWTHISPLACE. Seriously… biggest clusterf*ck of a «business» ever. Forget the listed hours of operation — if they decide to let«key employees» take off early in the day — what that means is «Even though we advertise delivery — NOPE». But they’ll oh so kindly offer to deliver you food THENEXTDAY. Because that makes sense, right? They charge an outrageous $ 10 delivery fee to boot, with a $ 30 minimum order — which makes it pretty much one of the most expensive places on GH to order from in the Oakland area. it took them over a week to be able to figure out how to make falafel. No joke. Over a week. Falafel that COMESFROM A KIT. Their sandwiches are also small… maybe what you’d pay $ 5 for elsewhere, but they charge around $ 6 – 8 for theirs. And let’s not even get into the guessing game about what items will actually be available to order, and what will be out of stock. My experiences(yes, multiple — I gave them many chances to stop being sh*tty) were horrible enough with this place that I am now actually stopping giving my business to GrubHub because they’ve been aware of these issues and refuse to get rid of the place as a vendor. A year or two ago GH would have dumped this place like a hot potato.

The store is empty during lunch hour and the store’s shelves is half empty. I decided on a cheesy steak sandwich and to be told they don’t have steak. Then to be told no salad and half of the stuff on their menu is not available. I finally decided on a smoothie but they don’t make it with fruit but some type of artificial juice sweetener. It tasted awful and costs $ 4! I also wanted coffee but they ran out of milk? What? A deli out of milk? There’s a Safeway across the street! Last but not least, I wanted to grab some chips, all twenty bags by the counter was expired. I told this to the girl but it didn’t seem to surprise her. This was the worse experience. Definitely not coming back!

Late delivery, soggy tasteless food. I ordered three sandwiches, all different, all gross. Don’t waste your time.

The little Asian girl with the glasses is nice but isn’t very competent. I told her 3 times I wanted ham, swiss cheese and tomatoes on my dark toasted bagel. I pay for the bagel and a bottle of water($ 4.28). When the receipt prints out it says cream cheese, tomatoes and cucumber. I told her again what I wanted on my bagel and she says«oh! So you don’t want cucumber?» I told her no I wanted a dark toasted bagel with swiss cheese, tomatoes and HAM. she reassures that she will put swiss cheese, tomatoes and ham on my bagel. I leave and come back to pick up my order and walk back to work. Sat down to eat my bagel and what do I see? A barely toasted bagel with 2THIN slices of tomatoes and swiss cheese and NOHAM. I walk back to the shop and tell her AGAIN that I wanted ham in my bagel and she says«oh! You wanted ham? I thought you didn’t want cucumber!» WTF!!! ??? she takes my bagel and, I shit you not, puts 2PAPERTHIN half slices on my bagel. If I wasn’t so hungry but would’ve chugged it a her. SAVEYOURTIME, MONEY, ANDAGGRAVATIONANDGOSOMEWHEREELSE!!! unless the white chick is working. She’s the only one that is customer service oriented. She’s the only reason I’m not giving this place 1 star.
